I understand why they wipe the candle bug. But why reset the hearts. i worked hard to find other players who are willing to trade with me. Most of them only send 1 time then no longer online. So i keep searching for players to trade. Months of trying to collect these hearts slowly to get that invisible cape.
Last time they did currency wipe, they can remove only the candles and let hearts + ascended stay. 💔

Beta must be really buggy due to the amount of new stuff it has, which is probably why it took somewhat longer than anticipated even for the TGC crew.

I seriously hope they don't rush it. Some of y'all are forgetting how disastrous beta can be due to bugs, and one time it made beta unplayable. So yeah, it's pretty important they make it ready first than rushing the build. And considering this has new content is still considered too buggy means that the Season is big enough to potentially break the game if not taken care of properly. So pls be patient-

Not everyone have a candle bug with thousands of candles in their inventory. Some ppl join beta after the bug and genuinely grind for candles & hearts. If they leave the hearts and wipe only the candle bug, it won't be so annoying

Why no one remember the currency wipe during mischief event, they wipe only the candle bug and not doing anything to the other currency

Do note y'all.... I'm basing this off of complete memory and it was a long time ago, so bear with me-

"Diamond is Sentient" theory... this one is mostly based off of how the Diamond seemed to be... alive. It was once noted that the longer you stay in Eden, rock rain became more numerous, as if it was aware and trying to kill you more. Though, I just realised "King is Diamond" theory may be some branch of this theory, but yeah.

"King is Diamond" theory... not much I could remember about this one, but I think this one was mostly due to what I said above, and how the King/Eden Elder is suspiciously... missing. So one theory was that they became they Diamond out of "greed" (lore chat had a strong tendency of making Eden Elder seem like the most evil out of the most evil back then...)

The third one... ooh, this one's the most spiciest one cause I still roughly remember this one. It's the idea that King/Prince is in the Diamond, and is the one "powering it" (dark, cause that's a kid- O.O). And everytime we die in Eden, we're pretty much recharging them with more light to keep on going (the dark room). Making us the charger. It's... kinda a really dark one but uh... yeah.
There's a chance this one and the one above it could be the case, cause if you look closely at the Diamond, it's actually broken into pieces. But something keeping it together. Idk how something so volatile could be held together like that.

There are a lot of strong implications that Eden did explode, it's pretty much written all over that it exploded and is probs what created the storm

Y’all should remember that beta is for testing so having 200/300 candles is normal. Unlike global, devs are allowed to do these kind of things to test the game (plus it was a glitch, I find normal they fixed it)

The general crux with having lots and lots of candles is that testers gravitate towards only the early access part of the game, rather than performing testing by playing in a manner similar to live (which will generally make it easier to find bugs/performance issues). Only visiting event areas when a new item is available and buying it instantly does not reflect what a player would experience in live

However, I absolutely agree that it would have been a nice courtesy to tell testers about it beforehand. Especially since you could earn a lot more than 200 by legitimately candle running in these four months

I get what you mean, I’d have liked an announcement before removing that amount of candles and hearts too but at the same I was expecting this to happen since all the candles/hearts we got with trades are kind of “illegal” since it was for a bug.

I know, I’ve been through several currency wipes since Enchantment, I’m very aware what I signed up for, it’s rather the fact those wipes happen within a 48hr period, this one took months to wipe. Asking for a simple “Hello, we’re here to remind you a currency reset will still occur soon.” is way too much?

me who didn't get the candle bug and had over 400 candles i earned myself it just hurts a lot more for me because candle running makes me sick and events are absurdly expensive so it's not unreasonable to hoard 500 candles in prep for event testing. 200 would be wiped out by a single item. yes it's beta and things can disappear but i agree the amount that it was reset to is rather unreasonable from a dev team that charges more for an event than they reset us to AND when we absolutely could have reasonably earned more than 200 on our own in the multiple months they neglected to reset it since the bug occurred.

Buying and farming for candles in a given time period are also part of testing. Realistically most live skids dont have stockpiles of hundreds to thousands of candles. It's our job to make sure the prices are reasonable to farm during the events, offer feedback and make sure there are no bugs when purchasing items from spirits or shops. Stockpiling defeats the farming purpose and removing the need for purchasing would disallow transaction bug squashing.

This is twisting out their words and the purpose of beta. They definitely don't want us to spend a lot of time collecting candles during season this is why we have several times more seasonal candle income and the candles conversion after season also gets us a lot of candles. But these are regular candles. Resetting currency is to encourage farming and interaction with others which helps to stumble upon bugs. (And thanks to reset I crashed in prairie on iOS which I could report through TestFlight)

if you only collect the seasonal candles from every realm (they will converted to regular) and the cakes every day, you can have a good amount of candles, plus, the thing is, you can test with the cosmetics and props from the seasons that you played, if you are moth, just farm to open all the gates and look around sometimes.

Firstly, beta should not be the only game for playing. It's not substitute for live. It's emphasized in #beta-faq. Secondly in beta there's no compensation, distribution whatsoever, resets (even a full reset progress) can and will happen, this is the nature of beta (also told in #beta-faq )

Edit: if you won't candle run in beta how you gonna find out if there's any new bug or not in any of the area. Through the candle run in beta, many users have found bugs that has potential to go on in live without noticing.

The currency reset in beta does not translate to TGC having intentions to reset currency in the live version. Besides, keep in mind that beta has never been, is not, and will never be a substitute for the live version of the game. Testers and developers have notified and warned everyone beforehand that these types of resets CAN and DOES happen for testing purposes or if TGC sees it fit, and they went ahead with the currency reset today due to a variety of reasons - primary one being the hearts and candles were not obtained legitimately but through a bug.

These types of resets to currency and if necessary to accounts will happen in testing and it's never a good idea to get attached to your account data that's on beta.

It's natural for people to get attached, so this is why we tell people in places like #beta-faq: please do not treat beta like the live version of the game. We don't—more specifically, we can't treat it like the live version of the game. Please don't try to stockpile currency. Please don't try to get all the TS items. Please don't focus on completing every single constellation if the thought of losing that progress upsets you. And if a bug comes along that has a huge impact on game play, or can be used as an exploit, please expect that a currency reset or other intervention will be coming down the line.

Not sure if you're new. In case you are, regular candles, ascended candles, seasonal candles, heart, seasonal heart are all currencies, regardless how you got them. Anything you can use to buy/unlock things are considered currencies.

I think its important to note that the beta version of sky is for testing. If you truly want to keep hearts and candles, do so in the live version but in beta, our whole accounts could be wiped if it's for testing. It's a reality we need to accept as testers

◖ I'm not able to bring a big opinion to the situation but personally, I liked how they gave everyone 200 candles and 50 hearts. Because of school, many aren't able to be online and candle run or test different items that require candles or hearts. It's gives people who can't do things because of different life situations a little hold to get themselves going once they are available. Invisible cape is never going to live and was just a fun little thing to put into beta. That's why it's impossible to obtain. You're never meant to get it or test it.

tbh, I don't know! It's a bit of a silly easter egg item put into beta loooong before I joined TGC, and there aren't currently plans to even bring it to the live version of the game. Sometimes things hang out in beta for a long time before they're taken to live or just taken out entirely. (Example: the shepherd system, the aviary, etc.)

If someone wants to spend time to get it, that's their choice. But the possibility for progress and currency resets remains unchanged

it's understandable that naturally one would get frustrated from currency reset,but then again YOU having to download and play beta would ultimately meant that you have read through #beta-faq therefore you are WILLING to test and accept whatever happens. Currency reset is a common thing in beta it happens whenever at random times, it can be frustrating but y'all have to understand that it's a normal thing in beta the only thing you can do is to accept it and MOVE ON.Do expect more currency resets in the future,if you simply cannot accept the fact that currency reset is a thing,i recommend you not to join beta at all.

Tbf many join beta for season or event testing, not just for 1 particular cosmetic in beta. Invisible cape is an easter egg, there are major chances, not everyone gonna get it. Why let it pull you down? And tbh when there's no season or event going on beta, it's totally abandoned. You won't even find people to open doors, they all left beta till something happens here and play live version.

I do think the invisable cape should be a live thing. I mean its good for players who have everthing and no longer have any goals. All of them could them be doing cr saving hearts and getting this incredible cape that's incredibly difficult to obtain. Yes but i am a solo player who has less friends in beta than i do in live. Im just saying it should be an option at least. And i meantioned players who dont need to save up for constellations or ts. I mean if you have nothing to save for why not have something like this to aim for, as a long term project so to speak. You start as a moth in beta just as you do in live. You start with 0 friends 0 candles and 0 hearts. You have to do just as much work, except you can keep all the work in live. In beta you can lose it all at a moments notice and ther isnt anything you can do. I would just rather have that option in live to get an invisable cape where i can keep it than in beta where i have Zero garentee. It would take me years to get it,lol, as i probably have 11 hearts in live, but it just seems more worth the effort knowing i can keep it.
