But people already delete the game and quit because there's nothing to do in the game after awhile of playing. More activities would more than likely bring those players back. (hopefully) It has been one thing lacking in Sky. Rerunning the same realms for candles can get boring after a few seasons doing it and can't take many micro breaks from the game or you miss out on seasonal items. (This season, for example, non-AP holders can only miss one day out of 77 if they don't want to miss a cosmetic... which is pretty taxing on players when the daily quests often repeat making the replayability less and less appealing).

I can assure you: As fascinating as it was to watch a game being built and rebuilt, as a game, Sky now is way more fun than it was before launch.

My fellow fossils and I have told the story several times before about how for most of pre-release beta, we lost emotes and emote upgrades in Eden instead of winged light. Flee before I settle down in my rocking chair and stroke my Boat Grandpa beard and reminisce about the details

I feel like we will still have the aspects of a season.. like a guide and spirits, but I feel like what comes in the season e.g what each quest is will be vastly different like the trials in prophecy, atleast that’s what I’m getting when the said it’d be like prophecy, because if we didn’t have a guide.. there’s really no need for a season pass ahaha.

It might be implementing a game changing event into the world. E.g for example a storm that was directly caused by eden that happens spontaneously and you have to try and protect yourself from it.. who knows, but I’m atleast 80% sure that we will have a guide and spirits atleast.

Perhaps the guide might be something different though, like a manta and I’ll even go as far to say a krill or even potentially another skykid but I’m pretty sure the season concept will be the same with spirits and guide

Sometimes, restarting the game and/or device help. If not, I'd suggest waiting for the update since it might solve things as well and is said to come soon. If you have connected your game to an external log in method other than facebook, you can also reinstall the game, though that one has risks.
@thorn dagger I know the issue, had it too. You can try checking you have a good internet connection, since this might cause lag, other than that it might as well be caused by the game servers.

Hey Nagati, I understand the server adheres to the rule of speaking English only due to the low moderation of other languages. If one absolutely cannot speak English (as it is very hard to do) could someone possibly DM the member who doesn’t understand English translate their native tongue into English as a way of communicating for how certain mechanics in Sky and discord function?

As an example, I can speak German. So, if someone were to ask a question in German I could translate what they say from German to English.

Also, since we have a 9 minute slow mode I’ll answer some FAQs here regarding the beta update. Due to not passing internal testing, version 0.18.0 will not hit beta until early next week when it passes internal testing. I hope this clears up any confusion. Yea that’s the other problem with all the new seasonal areas, they’re always limited to adding them close to the front of a seasonal area because it’s so cumbersome to get to them. You have to manually fly over all the time, now they’re allowing you to teleport to the seasonal area with the spirit, but that’s the thing tho, once the season is over? I still have to manually fly there

what if they created a second home space accessible via a new boat in the home space. and it could look like just a small little village in the middle of the ocean, with portals to each of the seasonal areas near the middle of it. you'd need to have gone to the seasonal area at least once for the portal to that area to be active tho. @hollow estuary I don't see datamining as a bad thing if I'm being honest, but I can guess a couple of reasons as to why TGC doesn't want Sky to be datamined, and those reasons are why it's against their Terms of Service. Datamining can also mislead testers and live players into thinking something that was scrapped long ago will be included in the next build/update and it'll shape especially tester feedback for content that was never meant to be in the game in the first place.

With its positives and negatives, datamining is still against TGC's terms of service and bringing attention to them is not allowed in this server as established by both community developers and moderators.

I could see, perhaps, there being an even smaller # of seasonal spirits, like 3 or just 2. I think they're sensing that they've got a lot of spirits already in the game. Long term, it doesn't seem very sustainable to keep adding emotes/spirits. Eventually the TS pool will get ridiculous and the emote tab is already cumbersome as is. We've already covered most of the possible expressions we'd need to communicate, unless we want more "odd" ones like bubble blow (I love that emote, but it is a little out there). Stances too seem pretty exhausted. I can't think of any other calls too beyond krill, whale, butterfly, maybe mushroom?

I could see though, more game emotes like hide and seek and give those their own tab at least im hoping. I think that is something people have been asking for for a long time.

just had a wild thought, what if instead of stances, calls, and emotes spirits offer access to new areas [with special features]?

like a spirit with a tired and worn-out personality can offer access to a small nature hideout with butterflies and such;
an adventurous spirit can offer access to a big lake with a huge SoAbyss/gondola-like boat that drives a lap around the lake every so often;
and the possibilities for others are limitless

and as you relive them, with every memory of one spirit you reach, the more you get of that specific area, until you get the whole room

Me too! I’m praying that this season really moves away from the usual monotonous daily quest cycle and offers something a lot different. I think the name of the season may be destruction or despair if it is heavily tied to eden. What eden was once compared to what is now now are two very different things, before it was essentially like walking up to the pearly white gates of heaven to pass over peacefully and now it has turned into a hostile battlefield of corruption.

If we are shown glimpses of the past with what exactly caused eden to fall and turn into what it is now then those names would be very fitting imo

In response to @leaden oak the new beta update is not yet here for others due to the different timezones. It is currently Sunday for the USA.

Note: In order for the 0.18.0 beta test build update to release two things must happen: A) Beta build 0.18.0 has to pass internal testing BEFORE it can be released to beta. B) TGC’s off day is Sunday so the staff may or may not be working at this time and things may take a bit longer than usual. With that said, the most important thing is to be patient and hope everything flows smoothly with internal testing.

You obtain it in beta the same way you do as in live, you need to get someone who does have it to bring you to the office where you can "purchase" it from the spirit in the hallway (except in beta it's free of course)

You need to go to the spirit and click the text box, then once their little speech finishes it should change to a gift box icon above their head and you need to tap on that. The gift box icon goes away after a few seconds, so you need to tap quickly once it appears. If you miss it then you need to tap that chat bubble again

I think a Krill Call would be difficult to represent, mostly when we hear the Krill it's a low rumble - and when you are caught it's a harsh sneer sound... I think the sound where you get caught would be most suitable with some modifications to how a Sky Kid would sound, perhaps more petit and 'cute'.... Like a pterodactyl noise

depends on what timezone you're referring to. A few updates were released on Thursdays in TGC time, some on Friday, some Wednesday, some Tuesday, etc.
we've had back-to-back updates on consecutive days as well. As others are saying, there really doesn't appear to be set days for updates, they're just released when they're ready (and it seems like this recent update has a few more issues than usual so they just have to work out a few more things before this one can come out, whether that's tomorrow, a few days from now, or later) - we just need to be patient

Crab helmet that looks similar to the shells of the lil critters, but has a bit more of a pizzaz to it, maybe some very small horns at the sides of the mask, something like the Bat Mask from the Air Prophet. I think a mask and hair would be best suited for Crab Cosmetics. Since they're very small and like, very stubby and only have basically one limb (apart from its lil feet), it'd be cooler and more suiting to have Crabs be masks and hair. And for Krills, I'd say hair/mask, pants and a cape definitely, since Krills have a lot more to offer and cooler designs imo. I hope there's another variant of the crab voice, like there is for the manta rays that might come out this upcoming season. That'd be cool.

Heck, maybe even the new spirits for the season could be corrupted or shadow spirits. What if like, this time you have to purify them? Maybe something similar to what you do in Eden(SPOILER FREE)? But, without actually doing what you do there, if you know what I mean. It'd be cool to have quests now solely centered around curing certain places, getting rid of the dark plants, facing off against krills, knocking over crabs and so on. honestly I'd rather TGC release a build that is closer to their vision of what beta should be testing and passes the internal testing than for them to rush out a build that they'll just have to keep updating over several days/weeks, which might not give them the feedback that they were hoping for

We also have to keep in mind that whatever we end up getting when the update is released will likely be full of bugs and maybe even some things that are unfinished or just don't work like they're supposed to.

I remember when Assembly was first being tested, they started it in an earlier stage than usual and a lot of the cosmetics were very rough or even broken. But of course not everyone read the update notes and there were a lot of complaints about things being ugly or looking bad when that was never going to be the final version in the first place.

While you wait for the update to be released, I would reread the note that was posted in #beta-announcements on Friday about what kinds of things TGC will be looking for opinions on when it does come out, so you can help be a good tester by giving them the type of info they're looking for instead of just saying "stuff is broken"
