Yes it had the red accent and gold and is white base and a black back to it. It's called rhythm guitar. In newest update they made back sky blue, removed tassel, and made red accent blue. It looks way worse imo

Im not against reskinned items ( all the base game capes are just reskins of each-other) but they need to be for in game currency, or have something to offer why they cost actual money.
The Guitar for example you pay 5-10 dollars for instant access to an item that has nit come as ts in 2 years.
Granted it could come next week but thats up to the player to decide. I do think anything above 10 is ridiculous for a reskin despite this.

I personally don’t consider the triumph instruments simple reskins since they sound completely different.

I hear that Mony. But the good thing is they don’t have to get the reskins or IAP’s and it saves them candles, money, hearts whatever. I just see a greed in people (my perception that may be entirely wrong and I accept that) that makes me sad. There are things I wish I had in both live and beta and I don’t because of when I started but it’s ok. I am thankful I am playing a game where to continue on to a new level I don’t have to spend money. You can play this game completely without every having spent a single bit of money and still be happy if you let yourself.

It’s difficult For the devs to balance accessibility without stepping on the toes of those who want stiff to remain exclusive.

For many people they are fine with the originals returning but thats not everyones sentiment.

There are people that would have played the older seasons/collected older TS if not for the platform restrictions.

It’s hard for us beta testers to provide a good litmus test as to how many IAPs players would be willing to purchase, since they’re all free for us and we just scoop up everything.

I personally feel like if any instrument is going to be offered for real money, it should look and sound different than a corresponding instrument already in the game.

Back before Rhythm, when players could buy the Winter Musician pack, that made sense. The Winter piano gave players a different piano (higher pitch). Plus it gave them the hairstyle, as well.

I think these IAP instruments should each cost no more than US$10 and they should be redesigned existing instruments with different timbres and never represent entirely new instruments for the game.

Musicians contribute to the rich experience of Sky to such an extent that really cannot be overestimated. The players who really excel at playing music and the players who can afford to buy a bunch of IAPs are not necessarily the same players. Sure, some Sky musicians may have friends who gift them things (musicians busking for hearts at Home and social areas used to be a very real thing in the game!), but I suspect that number is small.

The IAP instruments should be affordable, so that as many musicians as possible can buy and play them.

That is why #beta-feedback is important. If you don't like something about an IAP and purchased it in beta to test, leaving a message in that channel will give TGC 'an idea' how many players are upset about the IAP in some capacity.

Once upon a time there was an art livestream, I think, where one of the artists explained that string instruments usually have fewer strings than their IRL versions for animation reason. More strings=strings are less distinct and don’t display as well

While we can never be sure on the date I did kind of an estimate based on previous wait times. But ultimately up to tgc. We have gotten new season testing as early as 40 days and as late as almost 60 days into it. My estimation was sometime around May 31st for TESTING.

The thing is, using their assets wouldn't be any breech of anything, so long as I was using them as fan art and did not make any money from them. More difficult than using screenshots, but similar in legality.

It sounds to you like something that a player shouldn't be allowed to do, but it doesn't really reach that point. I would need to use exterior programs to get at those files, but so long as I wasn't giving myself unfair advantage or affecting the actual gameplay in any way, there isn't anything anyone could complain about.

But getting at those files require decompiling the app itself which is against the TOS. I suggest reading up on it. "In addition, you may not hack, emulate, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Game." That section specifically.

Eh, no. That section is there so they can go after a group that modifies the game or game files. There is another section of the TOS for going against an entity trying to make money off the app or its assets. There is a nice article from the electronic frontier foundation on how doing the quoted activities are actually illegal in most countries if stated in the terms of service or EULA prohibiting the activities. I would suggest looking it up. It's a very educational read. (Due to the unfortunate abbreviation of that foundation, I cannot directly link you to the article in this server)

Typically for a folk/lap harp you'd have a carrying case, usually soft/fabric for the smaller ones (7-15 string approx), hard for anything larger. You can also carry them slung on your back with a harness or sash/strap, though you better be careful or do only with a harp that you don't care as much about.

Larger harps, like the concert harps you see playing with large orchestras... I have no idea how one would transport one of those ^^;

And a fifteen string folk harp isn't really a large harp - my smaller is a twelve string, which compared to me has almost the same harp to person ratio that the current lyres have to sky kids

Okay here’s my take on this situation:

As Sky became more popular, so did TGC. TGC decided to take advantage of this, of us technically speaking, to make more money. Of course literally EVERY company will try to profit off their players as they NEED the money to even keep the game running, and produce more, but the community saw it more as greed rather than something they actually need. It’s true, most of the IAPs are getting overpriced now and TGC is definitely slowly starting to drift away from their community and player’s respective opinions, at least that’s what I think.. But whom knows what their true intentions are?

At the end of the day, you don’t have to buy the IAPs and it is only an option. This doesn’t really justify the fact that they’re kind of leeching off and ignoring their community, but still.
I don’t wanna see Sky start going downhill, and I don’t hate TGC for what they’re doing, but I just hope they can start listening to their players more again

I've had a chance to sleep on the latest update and so far I'm joining the disappointed team regarding the fledgling harp - I feel like they have so much potential to create something more developed than the base game harp and this is just a slight redesign, obviously they told us the guitar and harp would have the same sound as pre-existing instruments, so my expectations weren't extensively high, but I just feel like there's something lacking especially as they're wanting people to pay actual money for these items. The half braids off to one side with the captains coat, jelly pants, bowtie, and firework staff is beautiful. I think those braids are gorgeous. The way they're braided and the way the light wraps around the braiding is stunning. THOSE hairs deserve more hype and I wish more people wear them.

I really tried to get more of that gold underside on the outside of the cape before it released to live to no avail. The abyss one is cool too but too dark imo. As I remember, gold version (or which color it was, sorry I forgot) was for music contest at CN server.
Blue version was for Music Shop for 50 candles, but for some reason, it disappeared after update from Music Shop.

Lightseekers beta is not documented properly so I’m not exactly sure if it originally was the ultimate but then later scrapped, because an earlier version of was with Laidback (you can still see them carry it throughout the memory)

There was veteran flex, btw, even when Sky first started. If you started playing then, there were players who had played Soft Launch. So, some players had Winter stuff that nobody else had for a long while. There was more flex around base game cosmetics. And you had to be able to pray to trigger Oreo, so there was that sort of flex thing too.
