I've been playing a long time and I personally don't feel that new items similar to ults I've had for a long time will do me any harm at all. And I accept that some don't like that idea. In the end, it's TGC's game and they will decide based on more than what happens in conversation here.

I also suggest that nobody talk about the idea of ultimate gifts with the intention of changing anyone's mind: many who express opinions about it are not looking for reasons to think about it differently and may have a different enough perspective that they won't agree with you readily.

No, there was only a progress wipe just before the release of iOS worldwide. Earlier seasons just didn't run long enough in beta for people to be able to get ultimate rewards from them.

no worries! probably was referring to access wipes as there's been only one progress wipe, the one before global launch in 2019. Beta access used to be wiped shortly after the end of a season being tested in beta so new beta invites could be sent out for new testers. That system has thankfully changed as it was rather stressful to try to get back in

I have never transferred accounts before but I think I should have no problem switching my Live Sky account. I think I’d prefer if they banned them from home and the campfire areas of each realm, letting people actually spread them out around the larger areas of every map and also preventing people from dropping them next to/in the closet or around spirits (and thus, interfering with gameplay)

Narrowing down the places where players can share their memories doesn't make much sense, since everyone creates memories across all of Sky's maps, from inside a tiny cave to high up in a tree. Restricting its range of space would limit the manner in which players can express themselves, and comparing this new feature to message boats doesn't seem fair—Still, I believe they can make a little bit of adjustment to prevent users from placing memories in certain locations that might bother or interfere with other players' gameplay, and perhaps encompass the same concept as with props by not allowing them to be placed where might distort the enjoyment of others (near spirits or players)

i think having dedicated spots for them like the regular message candles would be a good idea. perhaps make these dedicated look different from the message candle shrines, so we can tell the shared memory candles and message candles apart.

honestly they are charming, seeing all the candles strewn about is kind of cute. but they are pretty intrusive, sadly. and even a bit overwhelming. if they're overwhelming for me, a very long time player, then i can only imagine how overwhelming they may be to new players.

I'm agree. And I would also add that they reduce the amount per server as they did in the paper boats.

But keep the freedom to put them almost anywhere, because I have imagined messages near places that I want to remember with my friends or from friends that I have lost, so to be able to put a lovely message there to remember them.

I think this a good idea! Maybe have shrines scattered throughout the lands where there a pretty views and you can leave message candles around. Or include an option to hide them in settings would be good too. The candles littered everywhere is an issue for me imo. I do LOVE running around and finding them but if they stay an "anywhere" item id appreciate at least the ability to turn off seeing them+UI prompts

I'm nervous even if the candles change their position from the right wall to the left wall, and here it's just a bunch of stalagmites around... the developers have already used this idea with message candles before, but abandoned in favor of the boats, why did they do it again

I think it was because they wanted visual video type representations of messages that the text based boats don't. I still totally think the candles littered everywhere take away from the visuals in sky somewhat, but I love the concept of shared memories. I just wish it could be implemented in a way that doesn't do this but struggle to figure out a solution to where players could leave video messages anywhere and it not look messy.
