if additional testing is needed, it will be included in a future build. since we got a nontrivial amount of data and feedback during the time we accidentally made those items available on beta already, it's unlikely that we will need more than what is provided by our internal testing team. beta isn't a supplement for live, so if you care enough about those items, they will be available for purchase.

Cosmetics would need consistent testing. That verbiage is just to satiate us. (Look at the bug last year that a certain combination of cosmetics crashed players on iOS or gave a deformed skykid for Android.) Looking forward to more cosmetic related bugs with that pack in the future...

It was more to bring an example that cosmetics would need to be tested with multiple combinations of the current cosmetics and any future ones. Something a small internal testing team and even beta testers don't have the capacity to do given the sheer amount of cosmetic combinations available in Sky. Personally, idc either way if the pack is ever added to beta for further testing or not, just pointing out the obvious here.

I feel like it's related to "constellation changes your friends' positions" but I am not entirely sure. For me it's most likely dependent on the person too (some never caused me trouble so far, others were always among the first ones to become unlit again after reset). I've been caught by it when blocking, when changing it by re-entering home by going to a realm or restarting, and I think it once was caused by someone sending me light, too, but I'm not completely sure about that one.

I usually don't listen to sky in-game music, but today i wanted to, and i noticed that after the music ends, it doesn't play again? If that's supposed to do that?

No need to be angry in beta , this is the nature of testing environment. Nothing is ours (especially IAPs) and anything can be taken away. They had plenty of time to test it in Chinese server Netease where it's been available for a long time. One wrong checkbox or copying to a wrong directory can result it goes to beta whereas contracts possibly let them sell it only on live. Also in beta nothing needs to be explained why was something added or removed but highly appreciated if devs do so

there has been cosmetic bugs caused by not testing them, but more or less they have successfully dodged causing commotions
there is also more cosmetics that goes untested, such as the CN exclusive hairpins
not everything needs to be publicly tested, as they have an internal testing team testing the smaller scale stuff
they have let entire systems released to live without public testing, cosmetics are even more likely

Furthermore, we use beta for our internal QA testing team in addition to our internal dev server, but some testing needs to be conducted in a "live environment" aka Beta because the internal server are different.

someone referred to the need for outfit items to hit beta to avoid issues like the matchstick skykids, but those items had not only been tested on beta, they had existed in live for many, many months. there are (we did the math on how many combinations, it was something in the billions) far more outfit combinations than can be reasonably tested by human hands (both professional QA and volunteer beta testers) which is why things like automation testing are super important (and why QA is so valuable) that we hope to improve on but that takes engineering time and effort to spin up, especially building from scratch. any hopefully some day those better internal testing tools will benefit beta players as well. but perhaps i'm getting a bit ahead of myself with hope.

the original post said it was mistake, but even that was blown completely out of proportion, like how could something be enabled on beta by mistake AND ALSO have a whole community post about it? and the answer is because the person who made the mistake gave the wrong go ahead to create communication about it. the CMs go to great lengths to spell out details (within reason, the list will never be exhaustive) so in their attempt to communicate in advance about a hot topic (anything that's an IAP usually gets folks in a certain kind of mood) instead of firing it off without more context and let folks speculate on why we'd do that kind of collab/IAP offering in the first place. that attempt to be clear and transparent ultimately backfired. we like to call this a sort of cascade of failures, kinda like the ripples in a pond when you toss a pebble into still waters.

I don’t even know how to reassure you that everything is absolutely ok, Samantha! I didn’t even bother about this situation as a whole in the first place because the comment we had the first time was absolutely enough for me. I only can imagine how stressful and scary it is to work on a project where a lot of players are teens without deep understanding of what’s going on inside the office, they are extremely quick to jump to some weird and hurtful conclusions in a lot of cases. Working on an online game for such community is even more devastating in situations like the last one. But you ARE humans and I’m glad all of you out there are brave and supporting team. considering previous incidents (one particularly complex one in particular that caused havoc in this server and shut down general for some time - which has genuinely frightened me deeply enough to fear things catching fire on that scale again (and due to anxiety sometimes get me into a state of catastrophising imagining things becoming like that again)) it'd be best for them to just. not say

though, aforementioned incident was at the fault of a lot of playerbase pressure plus a lack of communication (i refuse to research it to be sure. it makes me shaky) - which is what's making me very very paranoid about this

I hate daily quests as they are. They add to the time it takes out of me having a life, and they’re boring, pointless. I don’t want Flight or Abyss quests that take even longer to execute (Flight especially) - for one candle??

2- Who has 150 friends in Live, active at that? Old players mostly. Now, one heart every other day is not “crazy”. It is slow. It is 182 heart a year. There are 26 TSs per year. 182/26=7. A TS’s prop costs 15-20 hearts, that is not taking into account their hair/emote etc.
We haven’t even touched events yet, let alone the base constellations.

So, yes, inflation in a game doesn’t work, especially if the “salary” isn’t indexed to it.

I don't recall seeing any IAPs become cheaper on their subsequent visits, at least not by the price point set by TGC. Exchange rates are another matter entirely, since that's set by Google and Apple

Is this about the bonfire? Because lots of people did test Belongin in beta and still have that perfectly legitimately. It's only the ultimate umbrella from Lightseekers and deer mask (with a few exceptions) that were either unattainable or removed in a progress wipe.

I don't think there's a limit to how many hearts we can send daily.

But there's a bug regarding sending hearts on constellation. Sometimes after you sent a heart to someone, it will reset on your constellation, and shows that you can send them heart again. But if you try to send again, it will not deduct your candles, because you've already sent them a heart earlier.

This bug affects the lighting of our friends too, sometimes our friend will appear unlit even though we have light their candles.

I'd be surprised if there's a cap on the number of hearts you can send out per day, considering how quickly hearts would drain your candle supply normally -- that seems like a natural deterrent from going overboard on a regular basis when our daily income is constrained by the daily light system (i.e. it generally shouldn't be an issue on live -- making a beta-only constraint would be a waste of resources)

For me there's not a cap on hearts per day, but after some 50 hearts (or earlier) I have to refresh my constellation which seems to trigger the visual bug that doesn't show hearts and light being sent. Usualy I seem to be fine until I either block someone to reach others or enter a realm to dchange the constelllation.

I have had no issues gifting more than that, in beta and live. (Last time I went on a heart gifting spree in live was the last time we had double heart gifts, so it has been awhile for live, though... Beta was when Abyss ended and I gifted around 75 hearts with no issue.

It happened 3 days in a row now , after sending about 35/40 hearts , the ones I want to send too , I see the candles being taken out of my stock but immediately return. I also have to give more than 3 candles to get the ‘send a heart ‘ message. Lighting the friends isn’t a problem.

It's a visual bug. Hearts actually get sent the first time but the constellation shows as if you can send more.

Are you sure your friend collected the heart already from previous days and you didn't send one today yet (don't trust what the constellation shows you, it is quite likely to show wrongly)?

I’m almost embarrassed to say 😂 I numbered the heart trading friends who are all loyal in collecting and sending , just for the cause of seeing if that’s the case and testing. Half my constellation exists of ‘♥️1 , ♥️2 …..♥️40 ‘ 🤣

every time I see my candles "deduct" and then immediately get re-added to my wallet it is for friends that I have a) sent a heart to already today or b) sent a heart that they haven't accepted yet. those stars will not stay lit in my constellation either. if you are the rob wearing moth cape and bonfire I have you added () your star will behave like that sometimes, but I have no problem sending/collecting hearts from you overall

Yes, rob wears moth cape usually. I checked now and got a heart from him, plus sent back. Hopefully it worked as it should. No problems at my end.

Has anyone tried skybeta on a mac? My MacBookPro arrived today with the Apple M1 Max chip, but I couldn't install skybeta because it said it was unsupported by TestFlight. It seems that only the M1 chip (not max) is compatible.

I don't think beta works on an M1 device. Only the regular Live version does. There was once a Macbook beta programme, but that has long been discontinued.

I have a mbp with the M1 pro chip, you can only test ios apps on an ios device, which makes sense we can play live on the M1's no problem

From memory, the beta on Mac was terrible and I've heard it's difficult to play the Live version too, since apparently you can't use a controller.
