There are four seasonal candles from each realm, four from the quests and one from the pass, giving a total of 25 seasonal candles a day in beta. Edit: In the realms all spots are active, and each gives 0.5 candles.

The "relive a spirit" daily quest is working, but as a reminder, since one of the recent builds it no longer can be completed by standing next to a spirit's marker in a social space (this was a bug).

One point to note with completing the "relive a spirit" quest is that credit will be given after lighting the spirit's husk/watching the cutscene.

I'd have to strongly agree with that: some spirits already take long enough to relive, but needing to actually light and watch the cutscene places even more of a time drain on those of us who're trying to make the most of a limited playtime. Sitting around waiting for a quest to complete is actually quite frustrating since I'm acutely aware that I'm unable to make any other progress on my candle run while waiting for the cutscene/timer to finish

There's no beta for Switch, but that doesn't necessarily mean you can't connect a Nintendo account to your mobile beta account. I've never tried connecting a Nintendo account to beta before, though, so I can't say whether that works from personal experience

You can do so. No matter how you befriend a player via by ingame or by qr, both of you will still be able to gift hearts with each other

there are anti-cheat measure in place for people who exploit QR codes (which are meant for friends you know and trust outside the game, which is why QR unlocks chat automatically) for personal gain.

It’s actually been bugged in beta since the change was introduced. I have several friends with whom I interact sufficiently but still unable to send heart. They are able to send hearts to me. I’m not sure if our bug reports have been ignored due to this change/anti-cheat measure but it’s definitely bugged

I AM VERY SORRY THAT I USED THE BUG CANDLES TO GET ALL THE SEASONAL COSMETICS FROM ABYSS

An example would be siblings sharing one tablet or switch. but of course those features can be exploited in nefarious ways

Me and some other testers have bug reported on this more than once

it's always worth reporting:
-each report has the specs of the device who encountered the bug. this lets devs know exactly WHAT device or OS is causing the issue (see: android issues) which lets them tackle the issue more effectively
-the more people report the same bug, the more they can see the bug is a bigger issue and worth addressing right away
-you might be the first/one of the few to find a specific bug
-even if it turns out not to be a bug, the devs will still check it anyway and decide whether it's working as intended or not
-videos and screenshots also help with attempts to replicate the bug for testing

When i ask for specific cases to look into, one of two things is likely happening 1: i'm skipping that process and essentially calling in favors with my teammates to look into something specific sooner than they might otherwise get to it. 2: trying to get information to them faster because the issue was discussed in a meeting, side conversation, or related to another issue being looked into. bonus 3: the issue was fixed and something else broke it again. bonus 4: the issue cannot be reproduced and revisiting it for the nth time might just yield new information.

For transparency, I believe the "bug reports being thrown out" statement refers to the general sentiment beta testers are left with when we're submitting bug reports on an undocumented change that we're later told is deliberate (e.g. the heart gifting restrictions mentioned earlier, where we didn't get clear confirmation about it being intentional until significantly later when it had gone live).

I can understand the reasoning behind some silent tests potentially giving more accurate data if we're not told of the changes in advance, but I don't believe that really helps or alleviates the feeling that all the bug reports we made about the issue were just wasted time that could've been saved had we been made aware of it being an intentional feature sooner, and the sentiment is only amplified in cases where the bug reports were also simultaneously acting as feedback that the observed behaviour was undesirable to us as testers.

You should have an option in your Settings menu from the ⚙️ icon in the top-right, think it says "Rotation" or "Orientation" or something

Yup, it's "Rotation" -- if the icon is completely white/yellow, then you should be able to change the orientation by tilting your device. If one of the rectangles is red, that means you've locked the rotation (mine locks to only landscape, can't go portrait)

Alternatively, did you lock the screen rotation on your actual device settings to portrait? (as in, not in the game itself, but your actual phone/tablet settings)

in this specific case, we're not going to advertise anti-cheat things being tested on beta for what i hope are very obvious reasons.

beyond that, release notes don't go line by line for the hundreds of changes that can come in between builds, and the thousands of changes that go in between major patches. we do our best to document the major beats that we feel are most important for players who even bother to read patch notes at all, but it's an imperfect process.

Is anyone else crashing like crazy? When I'm logging on using my iPhone SE, things get to zooming out to where I should be able to interact with the app, and then it crashes. On my iPad Air, I was able to go to the islands and do some swimming, but the app crashed when I went back home.

If you click on the constellation, the game crashes, it's a #known-issues, so don't try that xD

1 - you swipe your finger on the "virtual joystick" really fast and get a medium boost and you don't lose wing power
2 - you can use your wing power to get a even bigger boost
