Many android 9 phones are still playing beta and greater androids and even iOS devices are affected.

I was wishing for light all button too but after reading those messages i started viewing lighting friend's stars in a completely different way

p.s. I still do a horrible job at lighting people i admit but at least i dont claim it if im not going to light back

The sending light process as it is now, for me is a bit mechanical, whether it’s beta or live. Like I just wanna get it over with as fast as I could. The design itself plus the huge number of friends don’t really help me to enter a pensive state of mind to take the time to think about the friends I light. Maybe the early beta friend shrines would better serve this particular purpose? I dunno. If I really miss a friend, I’d just check their skykid in constellation even if they not online and think about them, or send them a heart when thinking about them.

The new constellation design makes sending gift of light a challenge. It's hard to see who sent a gift of light to collect it and hard to see and takes many steps to check who hasn't been gifted with light. More noticeable design and default zoom in with page function would be great.

You may have found similarities but might be just a coincidence. I think it has nothing to do with manufacturing location. Occasionally phones do have regional differences tho. What rather counts for Androids what kind of graphics renderer updates or issues did they get or they didn't get, and how do they react to the necessary Sky graphics engine updates and tweaks devs trying to make it compatible for most devices while keeping the game up-to-date

That's a more complex question than android version
Currently there are close to half million device variations in the world and it constantly keeps growing. This makes game development a challenge. There are phones with very similar or same hardware from different manufacturers and Sky doesn't crash on one phone while it crashes on the other because many phone brands over tweak their androids to their liking and deliver sloppy renderer updates. This is called Android fragmentation.

Games heavily depend on hardware too. Older droids more likely to crash or become incompatible not only because of outdated software but also outdated hardware.

If tgc could somehow add a way to make lighting friends as easy as collecting light (name tap), it would solve a lot of my grievances with this new system.

Only for some Samsung devices, this would be true. This is due to Qualcomm owning the CDMA patent in the US and Samsung not being able to support CDMA bands without paying insane royalty fees if adding them into their Exynos chips. (It was more cost effective buying chips from Qualcomm instead of paying royalty fees and making the chips themselves) That patent expired recently, so newer Exynos chips can support it, though. (Like the S20, S21 and some A series phones) older Samsung phones (Like the S10 and below) had to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC to support Sprint and Verizon services. Other manufacturers didn't have this issue since Mediatek did pay the royalty fees.

I’m liking the idea of the new system and just hoping that some of the ease to use stuff from the old constellation makes its way to he new. Like being able to light people with just a few taps and better visibility to hearts , light , unlit peeps

To add to this, I think the animation of having skykid avatars coming up and down, up and down from the constellation is pretty time consuming and tedious to watch, also might cause migraine/nausea to some motion-sensitive people. If the goal is to show that we care about this friend, then this up-and-down animation is kinda counterproductive and not very soothing to watch repeatedly. I really like the idea of being able to visualize my friend’s avatar from constellation in general tho, it’s a nice touch.

I do like the fact that I can arrange my friends in constellation to a certain extent, and having a big constellation like the solar system to aggregate loads of friends so I don’t have to navigate from page to page. It’s only in the early stage of testing, and hopefully we’d get more improvements to this

Yes, I've certainly left feedback. And I'm not planning on taking a break. Haven't once during a testing period in the over a year I've been a tester..I'm just voicing my frustration and it being so inducing to nausea and headaches. I know there will be more than likely several iterations, it's just a bit rough this early on. One of the complaints about the other system was the problems I mentioned earlier. They weren't taken into consideration though this type of movement can be hell for some players.

I’m honestly so frustrated with the fact that we still aren’t getting a light all function when the constellations are going to be bumped up from 72 (I think?)to 140 friends at a time, and it’s getting more complex. I love the new look, but lighting everyone’s becoming a nightmare I don’t even think about who I’m lighting, I just try to get it over with as fast as possible. I know it’s never gonna happen, but it’s getting more and more frustrating lighting people

What I've noticed with the new constellation, motion is too jarring (I'm not even that photosensitive to motion, but this hurts my head a bit). Motion aside, I did find it easier to navigate by touch than the current version in live... Playing with controller on the other hand, I noticed the opposite - the live version is easier to navigate than the current beta iteration (lots of accidental menu switches, difficulty selecting the right skid in constellation, etc).

I'll see about getting some comparison videos tomorrow when my constellations hopefully have more light to collect

the only reason I get frustrated from lightning all friends one by one is that I can't find my (favorite) friends, they don't display if i didn't collect, I would sometimes just collect light to get it over with but that just makes me feel guilty

I've been thinking about this a lot since I played Sky, I'm very active in running eden and so far I've gathered so much ascended candles already (700+). The number of spells you can buy with it is very limited and not necessary at all. I hope we can consider the AC being use to purchase cosmetics and accessories instead of the very pricy heart that most players are not able to get due to limited sources (you can't expect all your friends to gift you always or like your boat/note). Being able to purchase other stuff with AC besides shop spells means we have to actively run eden weekly. I've notice that not many ppl are doing eden anymore after reaching 11 wedge or after achieving their desired height.

If that's not possible, then consider changing the quest to reward us with heart instead of candles 🙃 or add something new that would reward us heart to show your appreciation at least to your loyal Sky Kids, since that's the reason of why we're getting heart gift from friends, ain't it?

You have to understand that this "meaningful experience" takes 3 hours daily.I have a constellation of 750+ friends.It might be okay for some people who don’t have much friends and don’t have to spend hours on the constellation blocking/unblocking people but for people like us who’ve been playing for long and are quite socially active we do need the "light all" button.Since making friends is a central aspect of Sky,some of my friends have completely stopped adding people coz they don’t want to spend more time sending lights to everyone.I think they should at least give this option to players who have more than 300 friends to make our life easier.
If we all give feedback and voice our opinion why wouldn't TGC listen.They’ll obviously understand why the community wants this button.

1. You are "rewarded" for your 3+ hours of input by, as you said, a lot of hearts. Hearts are a valuable currency

2. If light all button appears it will destroy the in game heart economy. As I said hearts are a currency often used in game,

While I don't believe a light all button is ever going to happen, something does need to be done about the lighting functionality. It is taxing on the eyes (and thus the brain) to have the up-down motion and flashing screen of bringin down a friend. This is something most players do on a daily basis, and any such chore should be made kinder to the senses in some way.

For someone who has close to 500 ppl in consta it’s ridiculous to constantly change realms or go offline online or block/unblock friends so I can light people I’ve missed. It legit takes 2hours of my life. It’s so tedious that I light whoever pops up in my consta. ‘Light all’ would literally be a life saver and everyone gets lighted up.

The problem at first was with the constellation not showing names of friends to light but after seeing tgc's solution to this suddenly other options seem better

Even if we had a light all button, I would still individually light - I use it as a signal to call a friend online because I know they'll see the notification. Or I use it after a server split to say "I'm home and trying to tp but the server is full rn". It lets me think of that friend each time I light them, and it's nice to have a (even if maybe forced) moment of mindfulness. I would still light people if I didn't get heart fragments because I know they will get a heart fragment and it feels nice to give. I don't really need hearts anymore because of double hearts events and meditation quest hearts. I'm not close with all my Sky friends, but I still light them all and remember when we played more often.

Here were some of the things I already gave in feedback that would be a good compromise:
-Togglable light mode where you can tap friend nodes to light them, can still keep the individual lighting if wanted
-Search bar
-Refresh system for the solar system that prioritises unlit friends
-Condensing the favourite constellations from 10 to 5, holding 16 each, or to 4 holding 20 each

Yeah, I do to. If I'm making a friend to help them then I'm having that interaction and offering/accepting that candle because I'm planning on having an extended positive interaction with them. It doesn't mean I'll realistically plan to meet them commonly after the time and I have way to many friends for that, but we had a fun time together and if they need help they're always welcome to warp back.

I guess the difference I'm feeling would be one was a friendship made for a reason of interaction and sharing a moment whereas another might be for a reason of currency and no interaction beyond. Reminds me of the star collector from The Little Prince in a way. I want the friendship to have more meaning than a currency.

The constellation certainly isn't perfect, but I do think it gets the job done. Realistically I don't think it should be viable to light a huge number of people per day, much the same as how the chevrons work to limit wax collection. If something is allowed to expand nigh limitlessly, gives currency and is easy to use, then that will just result in the currency inflating beyond usability.

If a light all button was to be implemented then I feel it would need to come in tandem with a limiting factor too. Heart chevrons may actually work well there as a possibility because then early moths get a nice amount on high chevrons and as it gets more a limit will be reached for maximum hearts from heart fragments possible per day.

I do notice that during in live when we haven’t light anyone, the constellation only shows our heart fragments/gift from friends. And most of the times, it doesn’t show my favourite friends because I have yet to receive the heart fragments. I don’t have 750+ friends, but they’re more than 72.

I wonder if, say, if I have 500+ (gosh, fingers). What if I light all, and my 500+ friends use the light all as well? How would my constellation shake? How would I receive the light fragments/collect hearts? It’s been stated that current constellation update is limited because of tech issues, and Sky already has a different game style from the beginning. Would my game lag, crash, because of the 500+ notifs?

I think it will be an issue. Imagine, let’s say, during reset for a new season or a popular TS. Imagine the notifs when at least 100 friends of mine uses ‘light all’. I’d like to know how would you react to this, or how your device reacts to this. Or when you wanna find a friend that is not on your new solar system constellation, not the special constellation. How would this solution be? Or should we have ‘receive all’?

Personally I like the personal light one by one because, chaos it will send during double heart events……….

To be honest, I only get hearts regularly through friends' constellation, and I'm in peace knowing there's a time I invest there taking care of my friends to light everyone who appears (no idea how many friends I have), so I can live without getting a light all button but with the system remaining the same otherwise. It feels like a fair compensation?

I know there's some level of abuse, but
A. I don't think it's that higher or game breaking
B. Most people just want to be able to gift their friends even a small token, and the hearts come from holding that communication. So in a way, it's like mutual support to make us move forward

We do really need that search system tho or a way to display hidden friends. Maybe friend constellations you can purposefully change or rotate once you're done with a group?

If you guys can’t find each other in consta, you can’t light each other up. Until maybe you server merged. This has happened to me plenty of times. honestly the way it seems for long term players like myself, sky has been reduced to currency exploits and a mad rush to buy cosmetics because it's important to 'express yourself'. i feel like that's quite unfair. i know i don't have to buy everything but it would be nice to at least have the option. it would be nice for us to at least have one thing that can make life easier regarding a difficult currency.

My observations are that English to Estonian (my native language) and Arabic to Estonian (tested with a friend) are somewhat very good. Chinese to Estonian is really funny tho. English and french to german works rather well, chinese (Not sure? but had at least similar letters) turns out to be difficult to translate. Especially the names of places cause trouble (I'm quite sure there's a place that's called mutu in chinese but no idea where that would be). For the rest, I think it's mostly understandable what people want to say, though it sometimes requires some creativity to understand. The translator however does get trouble when the sentences turn very difficult...

About the translator, it doesn't work for message boats or candles, right?

I geniunely don't understand what "shrines" or spam posts like those are going to get you. If you have feedback and ideas for the new constellation, then go into #beta-feedback and then share it with us. Shrines just clog the chat and are extremely disruptive, especially in a channel that intends to have long, deep and thoughtful discussions to improve on the game.

It's been officially called a solar system... While there are systems of multiple Stars, those usually don't contain 40 or so, and the paths are far more complex than the circles shown... If we took stars orbiting a supermassive black hole, they would have a far more elliptical path and any two would not have the same orbit...
