people shouldn't get this desperate for virtual items, especially when it compromises your account

The intent is admirable, I don't want to dismiss the kindness they tried to extend to their friend, but is nonetheless very risky.

Earned items and currencies are soulbound, to use another game's terminology. IAPs would be considered Bind on Equip, so to speak, and thus able to be gifted.

restoring a gifted IAP won't do anything. Restore only works on purchases you make for yourself.

It's a different UI through the friendship tree. and the requirements to gift IAPs is higher than gifting the AP, but otherwise function very similarly to the type of gifting that has existed for a long time.

If memory serves, you need to own the AP for yourself before you can buy gift APs, unless they're leftover from a previous season. then you'd need to buy the AP for yourself before buying more if you run out.

you need to be present with the gift recipient to give it in real time through the friend tree, then it opens a different version of the IAP menu to select items your friend does not have. so you could open your IAP shop and see nothing but see a variety of options in your friend's menu. or it could also be empty if they already own everything themselves.

I checked through some recent patch notes and found these two: Placeables now sorted in their menu by the "volume" they use in a Shared Space and Shared Spaces placeable items menu shows a percentage bar to indicate how full a Space is before no further items can be placed

The bug is directly related to some back end changes to permit gifting in the first place, so it wasn't correctly reading the pack as "owned" which is why we send these things to beta, even if player testing is stunted because IAPs are free and candle packs aren't available.

Yeah, I think the importance of the new feature is choice. Yes, friendship can’t and shouldn’t be bought with money. Yes, this system has the potential to be abused. However, some people show love and friendship by giving gifts (look up love languages if you’re not familiar with the concept), and it’s nice to have the option to gift friends items they may want but don’t have the resources to purchase themselves. For example, I have friends from all around the world, and one of my friends in Europe really, really wanted a certain event item but was just shy of having the amount needed to purchase it. I had looked into sending them a gift card code so they could purchase it, but any gift card I purchased in the US is invalid outside the US, so it unfortunately wouldn’t work. They were able to get the item eventually, but it would have been nice to have the option then to gift it to them

The Gifting system are actually pretty good for someone who wanted to avoid the Tax from in game currency of USD in their own Currency--

By all means like in example someone need help to buy the items but they don't have credit card or their Paypal cannot be attached to the playstore things, they can ask their 100% Trusted Friend to buy the IAP for them by Gifting System after sending the Money to their Friends.

Also this Gifting System will also help Artist/Youtuber who have Giveaway Events or Maybe just some Competitions with the Prize of IAP in Events. By all means, they didn't need to login into their Winner Account to give the Prize, they can just Befriend the Winner for 3 Day, unlock The tree Friendship then giving out the Prize as Gift. 👌

Thought the only bad side on this are, some people might start hunting down some rich player or anyone who can buy IAP everytime there are some Events that have IAP.

I think both players have to be on the Switch to allow that. The only confirmation we got about the Nintendo pack is that gifting would work if both players are currently on a switch during the gifting process. We didn't get a yes or no if the gifter was on Switch and giftee was mobile.

Shared spaces in its current form isn't appealing to me. What would be an awesome addition is using the "useless" bookshelf as a sort of "portable shared space." I.E. plop it down anywhere and place all the props you would want.

if the backpack has to stay, I would love to see a way to change its color so it can be more coordinated with our outfits. it could be based around the colors of the base game capes we have unlocked (i.e. I have the red, pink, and white capes, so I can make the backpack turn red, pink, or white)

We've heard all of your feedback on the backpack appearance though, and if there are updates to share, the beta version will be the first to see any changes. It was feedback I'm familiar with, though, which is why my question was more directed towards the play experience of Shared Spaces in these recent builds.

I will say though, about the prop backpacks, there's more that determines the visual we make for an item than whether we want to or not. There's a lot of art and engineering time, among other things, that go into making and designing props, so it's not a matter of reducing the item size to display on a back and calling it a day.

Maybe it needs to be more secluded? maybe placed in a more homey space? the ability to invite players into a private server to enjoy the area? I dont quite know. I've been really enjoying the recent update to Shared Spaces It's a feature I use frequently in Live (prairie social hub 🤌), so I'm at how creative we can be now with builds

Once I get more time in my hands I'll go play with it some more for some extensive feedback, but in general my thoughts are that it's more fun than ever but the difficulty in placing things down where you want them and fighting the camera still makes it a really frustrating experience

while the "volume" based limit on shared space props opens the possibility of stacking a bunch of jars together, not being able to have more than three "big" items and and one "medium" item in a scene is limiting, with the previous system you could make a few smaller arrangements with all the props at your disposal. to make the volume system useful the volumes should be more balanced/the overall volume "budget" should be increased. if shared space is to be a creative outlet, let us go wild! I loved the bug that allowed us to place 16 tables, we made some cool sculptures with that
(put this to feedback alr but wanted to bring it to discussion as well!)

I've seen some creative uses and minigames made using shared spaces, but the overall feel of it is still a bit too "static" for my liking -- I'm not much of a fan of just arranging static props and having that be the core appeal. I think I'm wanting some more interactive elements to it, like having props interact with each other in certain ways if placed in certain combinations, or else just more stuff that moves like the swing and seesaw.
