I've just watched a video yesterday how a bit flip caused by cosmic radiation made a level jump in another game which was not possible could not be recreated or added extra 4092 votes to a vote count

True, but most bit flips are due to failing hardware, like a bad RAM module can flip a bit it's trying to copy over... like when you load your account from the cloud in Sky, a bit can flip due to bad hardware on your end, then the server or game thinks it's corrupted.... Even a bad Delta update could be the cause for a data corruption error, which is why the game suggests a reinstall just in case the update got borked.

That would probably because I do test my employer's app before they greenlight it for release. It's a smallish company, so we "wear many hats" so to speak. It's not my job, but since I can get them device logs if a call fails, they can see the reasoning. (It also helps that I can give them network logs as well)

It could be something as simple as "you bought an item our servers think you shouldn't." Like we got a few times TS came to beta. It could be something as complex as a bad RAM module flipping a bit due to hardware failure. It would be best to do the simple troubleshooting steps like reinstalling the game and/or restarting your device.

Not all data corruption errors are the same, though. A bad install can cause the error also

Mostly nah. Installation error is very rare on Sky. Except it was google play error that one of the #android-questions case. He reinstall Sky just in seconds and when get in it just com.sky.android blah blah stop working

If still error, please fill out a bug report with as much information as possible in it to help TGC find the root of the issue.

If you’re facing login problems, make sure you do the usual troubleshooting steps: checking if Beta is up to date, clear your cache, delete and redownload them from TestFlight/Google, make sure you have enough storage, or sometimes simply close and restart the game

There isn’t a clear solution as this issue isn’t affecting all testers. But that should cover all the false positives that happen rather regularly on beta

It's been a random issue. We suggest doing the basic troubleshooting steps to see if it gets fixed. Clear Sky's cache and data, then log back into your beta account. If still have corruption error, uninstall beta and reinstall. (If your invite is still valid, you can reinstall) If that doesn't work and you're on Android, please make sure all of Google's services are up to date. (Google Play Services, Play Store, Play Games, etc). If you still are having issues, please fill out a bug report. TGC cannot fix what's not reported.

Please do fill out a bug report with as much information as possible. So far, there aren't many bug reports on the issue so TGC most likely doesn't have enough information on what's causing it. Any info would prove useful, like install method, device model, OS version, if possible, even play store and play services version may help if it's an issue on Google's end giving false reports of a modified system triggering the error.

the yellow umbrella was a legitimate item. but hackers were breaking ToS by tampering with the game code to leak unreleased content before it became available through legitimate means or was ready for testing. that does not make it any less of hacked content just because it eventually became legitimate content. if something has not been announced in #beta-announcements as ready for testing, but shows up on social media or places like youtube, it is usually provided by hackers. they often try to hide the fact that that they broke ToS by saying it's a beta "sneak peak" or "preview" or sometimes even say it's a bug. i know folks are eager to know what fun stuff we're working on, and grow impatient, but leaking content/items/features before it's ready for testing can do a lot of harm by creating unrealistic expectations or making false promises.

since the hotfix included small changes it did not require the deployment of a new game server, which is what allows players from different platforms to paly together (e.g. matchmaking) we could hotfix for mobile which improves the experience of a nontrivial portion of the playerbase, while still making sure friends can play together.

Don't forget low powered hardware. I'm surprised we get the framerate we do get on the switch. It's CPU is so underpowered compared to nVidia's specs for the Tegra X1.

So far my experience in beta, there are strange things can happen if i update my beta/ not update my beta when a patch come.
Last rhythm director ts came, those who haven't updated beta can relieve the spirit while those updated can't.
Last SoTLP, some ppl can access asteroid jacket from shop when they haven't updated game, while the updated can only access if they've finished season quest.
So we saw some ppl with asteroid jacket earlier than others or ability to relieve spirits, but are they hackers then?
I saw a strange pic, my immediate mind was is this something brought with the new patch?
Tbh the milisecond umbrella is very sus too when i saw in people's posts.

Correct. It's not ideal, but that is the reality of console development. Certification is considerably slower. Patch cycles are roughly every 6 weeks, give or take.

You're welcome to take it up with Nintendo proper, but we have to play by their rules.

A visual bug with a hairstyle is annoying, yes but it doesn't prevent you from playing. The spells are not missing, per se, but they are temporary inaccessible and only impacts a handful of trail spells. They'll reappear in your inventory in the next patch.

I think some players made a perfect edit about NEW BUTTON feature screenshot by picking some Ultimate Gifts, IAP, etc. they wanted just ONCE (if they add more while editing perfectly, that's impossible) and then they'll edit the NEW BUTTON feature screenshot perfectly from BETA to make it real.

It doesn't matter whether you're iOS or Android, it can happen on any platform.

The fact that we see more android issues can be because of Google play issue, and many of affected users (not everyone is such) got Sky beta through illegitimate ways, such as Huawei store, post-installed Google play store for Huawei and honor devices, and outside sources. Of course less iOS users are affected because it's much harder to do it on iOS but they can be also affected with such bug

If you're experiencing the game data corrupt error, I would suggest the basic troubleshooting steps. (clearing play store and play services cache and data, Clearing Google Play Games cache and data, rebooting device, uninstall Sky Beta and reinstall from the Play Store) If they don't work, fill out a bug report with the steps taken to troubleshoot and any device info you can gather that Skybot asks for during the report.

Imagine if 15.5 came with a crafting type system for some spells in the new seasonal area. mix and match hearts, candles, AC, and if they find a way, chevron levels to make a limited spell like the beach ball, trails, crab trick, etc.

Put in materials and 15-60 mins later the spell will be made. (I.E. Put the materials in a furnace or something, go candle run and when you return, poof limited spell)

I don't think anything is known so far, except that there are multiple people facing this issue. Try the standard troubleshooting (delete cache, reinstall, reboot, make sure other things like testfilght or google stuff is updated, etc) and if it doesn't work, bug report and patience is all you can do sadly

Don't know how much help this will be, but I don't think the Nintendo login is solely to blame. My reasoning is this - my beta account is only linked to Nintendo, and I have been able to log in to beta without issue on two different Android devices. A Huawei P20 Pro, and an LG Velvet.

It sounds like parental controls might be enabled (I'm not an iOS user, so I might be off the mark with this one).

With most devices you can check for and enable/disable in your settings menu - sometimes they'll be under screen time, sometimes in accessibility, sometimes somewhere else entirely

Try the standard trouble solving steeps: restart device, restart app, reinstall, make sure everything such as TestFlight on iOs, google services on Android, etc are updated. If these don't work, sadly there's nothing you can do as far as I know... If that's the case, please take the time to send a bug report to TGC to help them find the cause.

If you use modified app, or app downloaded for illegitimate sources (not from iOS TestFlight or Google Play), than that's against TOS and can be banned

I think entering beta without invite wave isn't itself bad (it's even normally possible on Android if someone leaves). But it's impossible to enter beta without breaking Terms of Service when there aren't any free spots, as far as I know... To do it you'd have to get the app when you can't download it on the official way, and that's forbidden.

I would make sure you're installing it from the play store and that your Google Play System Update is up to date. (Latest is August, iirc... At least August 2021 Play System Update works for me just fine). Be sure in the app info of Sky Beta shows "App installed from Google Play Store." Any other install method is unsupported and against the terms of service.

I think it might have been a change due to feedback on the expensive blessing we used to have in that spot in Seasonal Spirit trees. Personally, I'd rather the chance at some rainbow spells or a campfire spell than a trail I'd never use. Of course, that gamble comes with the chance at yet another resize I might not ever use also.

Has anyone found the idle wax spot in forests sunny clearing I've been looking for so long.. and there's two other mystery spots

Hmm, I would suggest double checking if you can change pages in your emote menu. For some reason, tapping stances/calls or spells doesn't register for me. Will fill out bug report later. Happy bug hunting.

I've been having issues with this too, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Pressing harder sometimes works or like pressing in the exact center of the tab. But it's definitely not registering as easily now

The constellation gate for the Valley temple maze seems to be bugged, it says 0/1 for a constellation that doesn't seem to exist

I think some of the locations give out wax more slowly than others. I was getting wax from the Wasteland bonfire but it felt slower than the ones in Prairie and Valley

First campfire: I got 1 piece of wax as I arrived at the bonfire but nothing since.
Server merged and it went out - relit and another piece of wax.
That was about 5 mins of observing
