A bit late but here's how the seasons are developed imo

Stage 1 - passive development - 10 months
This stage happens 3 or 4 seasons before the one in development should be released. During this stage the concepts are starting development - the storyline, the spirits, the cosmetics, the quests, the area(if there is one), the music etc.

Stage 2 - active development - 3 months
This is the part where the most coding takes place I assume. In this stage 2D turns into 3D. Cosmetics are created, the area is designed and the music is composed. (side note, bravo Vincent Diamanté)

Stage 3 - testing - 1 or 2 months
In this stage the season is tested first in dev builds, then in beta with us.

Example according this schedule

The idea of season of flight was born when sanctuary concluded.
In prophecy and dreams they developed the storyline concepts and maybe music
In assembly they started developing 3D and coding.
And soon season of flight will enter beta.

Here's the catch tho.
At any given moment they have at least 8 seasons in different stages of development, so the time it takes to develop might be much longer plus don't forget about the different events

the only instrument in sky with sustained notes is the scout's horn, which often doesn't sound good when playing anything faster than the yeti sheet because its notes overlap and often cause dissonant chords out of the player's control
