i think its mainly an issue of tgc trying to please bored veterans and also new players at the same time and its not working. too many events close together making people candle broke. as for the prices of the new items, we dont know what’s final and what’s not yet because it’s only like the first or second day they’re in beta. i think everyone is blowing this a little out of proportion

Still better than the gap in Gacha games. If you don't whale in Gacha, you actually perform less in basic gameplay. At least f2p players can be on same level as a paying player in Sky.

I, as well, would be a veteran who's fine with a bit of quiet time. Even a couple more weeks between events would be fine by me. I think also, if we give people more quiet time, they'll find new ways to play. When I'm preparing for events, I pretty exclusively just candle-run. When I have downtime, I make new friends, adopt moths, explore new areas, do Eden runs, and practice my instruments. Giving people space to do things will, well, give them space to do things.

TGC is manipulated, here me out. They always saying it's a small company and they do it for passion. They make a poll now and then with question and answer kinda like: "main porpose to buy cosmetic in game?" and one of the answer is: to support TGC. They are telling us when created "useless assemble" thing as: it's not useless, we just need more time. They let us to have 1 level seasonal emotes so we will forgive them for this thing cause: "they give you this huge oportunity to collect all, what do you want more?". They say: you are a member of the team. They want us to pay money more and more every month by saying: "it's a limited edition, won't come back" By that, ppl are willing to spend on a piece of digital clothing or accessories that cost more than a real one, it's not the first time. They stay silent almost in every drama, every problem they have and say: "we need time to calm down and figure out the situation" and then never mention about it again, ppl tend to forgive them after the drama cold down, over time to time.

2. The little prince IAP and ults

Yes, it is theoretically possible that they maliciously timed it on purpose. However, I would also like to point out:

1.) It's not a vacation that they chose to take. It's a national holiday, and they are supposed to give it to their workers whether it's convenient or not.

2.) An alternative motive on TGC's part might have also been to release the update over the weekend so that their testers would have more free time than if they dropped the test during a weekday. This way, we would have more time to test the beta update, and they would be able to come back from Memorial Day Weekend and get right back to work instead of having to wait.

The copyright of The Star Prince has already expired, and TGC will probably not need to pay royalties to the rights holder for the collaboration.
I don't know why they set such a high price for the pack. I understand the need for development costs, but the design idea was appropriated from Prince of Stars. It's not an original idea, so I assume it's easier than coming up with a normal item.
I hope the price is fair for the live version.

I find it unlikely—perhaps possible, but unlikely—that if TGC thought that the IAP was as big of a problem as it turned out to be, that they would have gone forward and released it. Maybe I have a unique perspective, but I've worked as a copyeditor before. I've worked with various start-up businesses putting out articles and had to sit there with my head in my hands over some nonsense piece of copy, and it was my job to edit it, and clearly some copywriter or web designer thought it was a good idea and it was not. There are many times in business, design, and other various fields of creative work, where something bad seems like a good idea to a particular group. This is why I'm skeptical that TGC is being purposefully malicious; personal experience tells me that it's more likely they just made a very misinformed decision. This is part of why we exist here: ideas that seem good in a dev meeting room might work in theory, but turn out bad in reality. Ergo, we help them find the ideas that didn't turn out like they thought.

There's a difference between copyright and trademark. Copyright protects original work, whereas a trademark protects items that distinguish or identify a particular business from another. Aside from the copyright, some assets of it are trademarked too so TGC still has to pay a certian fee to obtain it Here’s an important difference between trademark and copyright: trademark does not expire unlike copyright. So to say its easy for TGC to use intellectual property of LPP because of free domain is not completely right.

That’s not a good enough justification in my eyes, it was TGC’s decision for this collaboration, we didn’t ask for this. they should have expected the loss in capital and took it on the chin instead of asking the player base to (optionally) bare that cost of the most identifiable items to the little prince. some of us have a real connection to the story and it feels like TGC is actively trying to capitalise off of that connection. not one, not two but three separate iaps? its ridiculous.

you’re right we don’t know. but that still falls on TGCs side. they are responsible for keeping an open stream of communication with us which they have always seemed to be lacking. they continuously drop bombshells on us in beta and fail to explain the purpose or provide us with any justification for a couple of days sometimes even up to a week.

I can understand the sword prince outfit and cape and the fox backpack being separate iaps but for the actual little Prince outfit and cape being a iap pack seems a bit odd considering it's what the seasons about but I like to think they made it like this for players to look like the little prince rarer since all the AP items are capes and hair/hats mostly (based around the different planet adults in the story).

Did someone reply to you? With iOS, beta is connected to the app Testflight. When new waves are sent out, access to beta within that app is often revoked. (It may have changed only very recently.) So yes, presumably you lost access because of that. But your progress will be saved and you can return to it, as long as you log in with the same credentials.

I said this before but collabs/crossovers should be events, not entire seasons. Seasons shouldn't have seasonal cosmetics locked behind IAPs that are separate from the AP. The Little Prince season should not be a season it should be an event and the season should relate more to the lore of sky and the vault

It means to enjoy season we now need both pass AND IAP amounting to the amount we consume in a month when away from our homes, especially in Asian countries

I personally dont like the idea of IAPs. But I understood TGC's difficulty. So I have a recommendation that they should change those two items in IAPs to ultimate rewards (the sword pant and scarf I guess). Rose and prince hair can be IAPs instead. Besides, they should also decrease the prices so more players who has interest can afford them.

I think the capes are okay as greyish black, it represents the adults in the story, but the design looks kinda similar at one point
everyone agrees that the iaps should be ults, so maybe tgc will look into it and add that idea hopefully
sky is alot of peoples comfort game and seeing this situation can make us frustrated, but we are doing this for the sake of the community, if this goes into live, the whole community will be upset, i dont think we want to see that
