It was just a totally different game, the devs tried a lot of systems for the economy and the wing power. the only regions that are having issues is europe, australia, and new zealand, as far as we know, and possibly a few other regions. that is out of tgc's control. anyone from any other region had a chance to get picked, but only a few thousand got access. if you didn't get the email after checking, then unfortunately you didn't get in this time

That's not how math works. It's possible that sky favored certain regions but plenty of Japan users didn't get the email.

You'd need a much larger sample size of like 1000 japanese users and 1000 NA users to compare the actual rate of people receiving the beta invite

The only other reason I can think of for Mainland China not getting beta invites (So far if any of yall are in China and have a beta invite lemme know) is China has its own server than runs separately from Global in the first place.

Regardless of how payments are processed between the two platforms, that shouldn’t affect the candle count.. since in either platform.. a purchase modifies one variable in your inventory.. it’s rather weird
But now having a Switch candle and a mobile candle can make keeping track of purchases very difficult and confusing.. especially when you are a cross platform player
I can see what a logistics nightmare this will turn into in the future :(

I believe 60fps is possible in some cases, but not all areas in the game will maintain that many frames at all times, the GPU in a switch isn't that powerful to begin with.

Some areas are laggier than others, sky is laggy already, you can make popcorn with it and fried rice but it should be able to run smoothly if no one is spam honking or anything laggy

okay so you kind of answered your own question. If your region cannot use eshop on nintendo, then sky would not be available for you, we are subject to the restrictions that nintendo outlines for their platform. to get around that you would have to change regions which may come with consequences that tgc cannot be responsible for, so we do not recommend changing your region to circumvent nintendo's eshop restrictions.

It means that candles you buy on the Switch can only be used while you've got the game open on the Switch -- you can't use those candles while you have the game open on iOS or Android. Same thing with iOS/Android-bought candles for the Switch.

You need the full sentence for context:

It means you have to link your Nintendo account to your Sky account on mobile first before accessing it through your Switch, not the other way around. If you start your game on Switch first, and link that to your Nintendo account before linking your Sky account to it through mobile, you will not be able to retrieve your past progress anymore and will have a separate account on the Switch/Nintendo account

Yes, you can only buy the switch pack from the switch! But you can buy other packs from both devices. The only issue is that candles will not transfer. Capes and other things will.
And to your previous message: you will keep your ability to buy from your phone, after having linked your account to the switch.

If you farm candles they will appear on both devices. Let's say you farmed 20 candles. You will see these on both devices. If you buy a candle pack of 50 candles on the switch now, you will have 70 candles on the switch. On the phone it will only show you 20 candles.
Apparently it's a common thing with nintendo and buying things in a game with multiple ports

Btw, I expected Ocarina Link Hair, but just BotW Hair? I'm good with it. It would look better if it was the Skyward Sword Link, the theme of the game is basically the Sky and flying, similar like Sky, but I guess they went with BotW Link since is the most popular Link at the moment. Here are some patterns I've noticed in tgc's design lately

Both of the latest seasons have their entrances right in or very close to the social area and provide a significant shortcut to the temple.

As the teaser showed, the upcoming season's entrance is also in the social area. And given the fact stated above I think the location will provide a shortcut to the vault's summit.

why is tgc giving us shortcuts to temples... Is the next next season connected with temples somehow?

I think the main reason behind the entrance locations to be easily accessible. I mean who would go eg in Dreams Village a lot if you had to do the race every single time. That would just make the areas unused.

I love Sanctuary, but the other day I actually timed how long it takes to get there when entering Prairie: 3-4 minutes. Ark is probably even longer, considering the two cut scenes you have to pass through.

Yeah but there's a trick. If you doing candle lazy candle run, (2 or 3 realm per day) make the vault last candle run place when the next reset quest location is vault. And when the quest is Vault Summit just use return shrine and you will on the top of the vault. Don't meditate the elder thingy or you will be on the portal home and eden level and defeating purpose of the trick

Y’all, I have to say that the Switch-exclusive cosmetics pack just isn’t sitting right with me. (And before you say it, yes, I have submitted this to feedback.)

Because so many of the initial Switch user-base will be existing Sky kids, won’t the cosmetics signal privilege (i.e., ability and disposable income to own multiple Sky-compatible devices) to a user-base that already struggles with cosmetics scarcity?

If it were available for all to purchase in celebration of the Switch release, or if it was only available to new users signing up via Switch, that’d be one thing, but there’s just something about a device-specific release that doesn’t feel very good. (Edit: woah text wall, sorry!!)

This is the first time there is a device specific exclusive and since it includes Nintendo licensed items it makes sense that only Switch users can buy it. IAP will always by nature be "exclusive" (or maybe excluding is a better word?), because not everyone can or want to spend money on something in a free game.

One thing I’m hearing is that all platforms have an element of exclusivity, but to me, those aren’t quite the same. China’s divergence is due to its having to a different provider/distributor; iOS is due to initial development and game roll-out. Basically, the exclusivity is a by-product, where this feels more like... manufactured exclusivity? To add on to that, we’re not talking about just another smartphone format; it’s a $300 game console, and to me, that feels a little different.

Also— I don’t think I fully realized that the exclusives are specifically Nintendo’s IP, so thank you for that insight! Speaking as someone who hasn’t played console-dependent games in many, many years, this adds some really helpful context for me.

If your joycon drifts, it will be the same with your sky kid just like other 3D games. It also depends on the severity of the drift on your joycons if its enough to trigger the treshold/sensitivity to be recognize in the game. It will also depend on how TGC programmed the game for thumbstick sensitivity.

there are likely issues with the UI because of some switch-related work-in-progress things.

basically this beta build was made to ensure mobile and switch crossplay functioned correctly, applying fixes and releasing a new update would break that crossplay.

so even though it's pretty broken for mobile, hanging around and guiding switch moths is a really important thing that helps the team out a TON.

I have a couple of questions, and I hope this is a good place to ask them... 😊
I’ve been in beta since the last invite wave and have focused on getting my character equipped (chibi, table, 10 wedges) and ready to function at my “prime.” I’ve been lightly testing things out as I go and reporting any bugs that I encounter which are not already listed in the “known issues” thread.
All of that said, now that I’ve achieved acquiring those basics, what is recommended for us as beta testers?
I do light candle runs most days. I obtain all new items to see how they are working and whatnot.
But how does this work? I want to give feedback that is useful to the developers...
(I’ve read FAQ and all pins here. I also always read beta updates.)
Besides just stumbling on bugs and reporting them... what do we do?
I guess: What are “best practices” for beta testers? And also, what kind of feedback is desired by the developers?

no zodi. the candles will end up in your inventory as earned_candles and switch_candles and mobile_candles. if you have 100 switch_candles and 50 mobile_candles you won't be able to spend 150 on switch because switch will not show those 50 mobile_candles. if you have 50 earned_candles then it'll show as 0 on mobile if you spend 150 candles on switch.

Aside from testing new features, a few idea I guess might help play the game stress test how the balance feels each patch;, test the graphics and try emotes, cosmetics combinations, friend actions; look up bugs others are having and see if you can find them there too or in similar places elsewhere e.g. home boat shop crash , does it crash with the same shop in ark?; explore all realms and find new oob.... ? What's good/fun etc?

I've been wondering that as well! But as beta testers we should do our best to figure out and test things on our own before asking. Remember that your struggles can help many players in the Live version and that feedback is extremely useful for TGC! Please submit them in #beta-feedback

Aletheia i usually write down what do i like or dislike and why, what could be improved in my opinion or something is not clear, confusing, too easy/too hard. stuff like that

I would just leave honest feedback based on how you feel about new content, new features, etc. (keeping it respectful though, of course). If you aren't enjoying something or think it's too difficult or confusing, then try to explain why you feel that way. You can also leave feedback based on how things look, but do keep in mind that things will be subject to change and may already have some planned adjustments, especially if it's still early in testing. Also remember that it's good to leave some positive feedback as well, so if there are new features that you think are really cool and enjoy a lot, you can let them know that too!

I would think positive feedback can also be helpful, if a lot of people express that they really like something, it can let TGC know that players may want to see more of it in the future and can give them some ideas of what direction to go with future content, just like people expressing when they don't like something

Positive feedback can be super motivating, and make ppl feel , that what they do is worth the effort and negativity they get along the way. Giving the reason why you love something is even more useful i believe.

I occasionally full cr in Live but I almost never full cr in Beta unless we're asked to test candle running

Probably dont want to do that on both plattforms. Since a lot of new spots were added it would be 4-6 hours if you did both live and beta full runs every single day just for cr.
If you need candles i would suggest putting more enrergy into live. I personally enjoy beta way more with all the unexpected broken things in it, so i spend way more time there, but live is the logical choice

The new forge system has allowed me to get 10 candles in 40- 45 minutes, so it’s not too bad tbh I don’t usually get beyond 10 candles daily ... so off-season is the best time for me to collect more candles
