I did Eden, all maps, all trials, and waited for the dragon. If you leave maps with cakes (eg Vault with 7 cakes) to the end it’s a bit faster. I do this daily, perhaps excluding Eden

Btw, Eden everyday is actually statue Eden every other day. Day 1 - last thing on your to do list; statues/ waiting for death; spirits but not orbit, go home. Day 2 - start your day there, do spirits then go into orbit.

I have a friend who opted not to take any wing from day one. She had a bunch of seasonal items and any item from the spirit constellations that didn’t require a wing buff. If they were flying around capeless then I’d say it’s suspicious. If you report someone and they’re innocent, nothing happens to them 😊

basically how this would work is syncing everyone. when one person gives their last winged light they dont "die" and turn into the blue orb until all the others die

it can take a while for someone to die if they have 10-11 wedges though, while people with 5-8 wedges die very quick

I feel like the problem with that is the same problem with the death loop. if some rando merges with you and is afk somewhere safe then you just can’t ever die. the kill switch is so that if someone is intentionally not dying, they can’t make the whole server get stuck not dying

I’m not sure that’s a requirement. My iPad can only handle graphics at zero bolts, so I only set it to one when I’m about to die. I put it back to zero as soon as I start falling. This means I started after my alt and fell while she was already at zero. I’d need to test it tho

It's a mysterious system. In serious tho, we don't know what increases your friendship "guage." Once it's full, you get "shepherd" and can see new players when you're near them. (You see a diamond and a heart inside the diamond)

ah. that's a way to show how friendly you are. we don't really know much about how you increase your 'bar', but we assume that if you are a friendly player in the game, you can become a shepherd. it helps players find moths who may need some help and guidance! moths can't tell who is a shepherd though

Daily light system is still in it's infancy. It will change drastically before hitting live. It currently will take a full run to even get close to live's numbers and that's after they added a boat load of candle cakes to Sky in beta. (At least 12)

At home space that’s still weird. Dropping 5 wings at a time in eden after kill switch got activated is normal.
About the wings, there are a bunch which cannot be collected. It might dissapear when you click on the icon, but it wont add to the number and also won’t recharge you at all, like working wings do. If you reenter the area they will be there again as if nothing happened.

Is Sky COTL a different build compared to its previous release Sky Light Awaits or at its core it is Light Awaits and TGC has been able to improve that version over the years?
I’ve been using/learning about PhyreEngine (the one TGC used for Flower and Journey from Sony) and I’m just interested on understand a little bit more of how they scrapped the original build and improved it to the version we all know and love to this day

Sky never used PhyreEngine afaik, Light Awaits is COTL but the previous version, just the name is changed

Sky uses a new proprietary engine we built. we don't have access to the tools we used when we worked with Sony. Sky: Light Awaits used the same engine as Sky: Children of the Light, it was just a pre-launch version of the game we refer to as "Limited Live" it was only accessible in a few select regions for testing purposes.

(edit) Even after global launch in july 2019, we released identical updates to the Sky: Light Awaits version of the app for about 8 months before being retired completely.

Yeah, I accidentally selected "always open" for beta, and the setting to remove always open is not available in my phone... I'm too lazy to hook it up to my pc and run the adb command to remove the preference. So for live, I just have to remember to scan in menu or beta opens.

Back to beta topic: Any ideas where more candle wax can be placed or do you think they need to add more wax to the realms? I suggested a two player plant in the big open space in the middle of the Ark area. Good spot, no?

Not exact numbers,3 is higher than 2, 2 feels normal and 1 less than normal. I haven't number crunched. I just randomly light stuff in live and beta and see how it feels. I don't care about the numbers right now as even in our feedback, it's best to say how the runs feel, not bump 0.5x or something. They want to remove the grind and make getting candles fun. edit: disclaimer: this is a beta feature, the feel of the runs will change as it gets balanced.

Yes that´s a good impression. I just felt that 5x, 3x, 2x way too high and was getting nervous about the candle prices shooting up. As Candles are also a way to make money for TGC, that rate would make it basically irrelevant. When I would be in Beta I would test things like this immediately. I just love numbers and finding out the algorithm behind systems.

I think candle cakes give people a better incentive to actually visit that realm, and for Vault specifically there's little space left to put candle bunches.
For trials, if you have candle cakes or bunches right at the start or just about midway, players would just collect them and leave without actually completing that trial and those will distract newer players (first time?) when they attempt Trials.

sky lore is intentionally left incredibly vague so the players can make what they will out of it. some things though really aren't meant to be part of the lore and instead are just fun game mechanics. like Ktjn has said before things like the office and the days of events aren't part of sky lore. they're just fun real world Easter eggs. the spirit changing is probably gonna be more of "this erases the previous version from the lore and replaced it with this version" kinda deal

The short answer is that we develop the game and NetEase is a publisher, after we deliver a build to them, they make adjustments as needed to suit the needs of their region. While we have some visibility into those differences, they have the final say on what is ultimately released to their playerbase. in my comparison pics in #beta-screenshots-videos just to keep it less chatter in the screenshots channel. The table is Harbin’s (yellow cape). Anyone could light it and everyone who was in the server when it was placed saw two candles. Mochi is the ios device, they are stormlocked because they went to eden separately from me and wanted to see if the game treated kill switch stormlock any different. I am the android, chibi weasel mask. I went into prairie and went home after Harbin placed the table and there were 3 unlit candles. I lit the candles and they appeared lit to everyone there but everyone else still only saw two while I saw 3.
The bonfire bug: anyone who is in the server when the bonfire is placed cannot light it or see it lit if others have lit it. They also cannot recharge off it if someone else lit it. Anyone who left and came back or entered after it was placed has the ability to light it or see that it had been lit by someone else and can recharge on it.

Very buggy, to add to the confusion though even when you saw you couldn't light the bonfire though you did light it. When the instance was refreshed when I left and returned the bonfire was lit only when people had been near it with candles out. It didn't light to you but the server had realised it was meant to be lit and lit it. When no one was near it with a candle out the bonfire was unlit from leaving and returning but could be lit normally by the returning player (still unlit to the rest of you)

I suspect the exact same thing happens with feast table but only that very first candle.

Wait. Got it to work. The error was the app couldn't update counter. Somehow the counter between live and beta server side was off. I.. erm had to use NXP to change the counter value back to zero and it paired. I highly suggest against it. Filling out bug report now, though it seems to only affect beta. Would be good to put down though so it doesn't trickle to live.

Part of the point of being in beta is discovering things yourself and reporting on them. That's why we're asked not to make maps, for example.
This time, it seem mainly focused on the death loop. So test it out with some friends, basically.

Make sure no one death loops and also see if the auto-kill timer works. If you check #beta-screenshots-videos you should see a few of us having the "wing fiesta." In theory, everyone should lose all their winged light a certain amount of time after the first death on that server/instance to prevent greifing.
