Yes, that's been my impression also. Cr-ing = socialising. Initially, maybe people found each other through ubering, but as they got chatting they found they enjoyed each others' company also.

When I started playing, we would go do quests and slowly build up a relationship by exchanging candles. I think now, QR code has sped up the friend making.

Overall i think this system will be good for those who really hate daily CR but for those who CR to socialize it’ll discourage them from playing as much imo?
About QR- I agree bleps. Almost all of my in game friend list is people I added from here via QR, ubered once/twice, and now we light stars and ignore each other otherwise

I think i got nice amount of my friends from wasteland , where either we helped each other or onemof us saved the other from losing wings. The other huge friend number increase came when the oob mushrooms were a thing in enchantment.

I don't "collect" friends, I make them over time usually. I have never uber'd or been uber'd, really. I have tagged along on the occasional cr-ing, but mostly socialising for me is just standing around in Home chatting. Both of my constellations are full, but not with 100s of players. I remember almost all of them.

Lol, yeah, that's the match making for you. It's a nice feature sometimes, but there are times when I just want to log on quickly and do the dailies, because I'm busy. Then I feel rude for just running off.

I’ve said it in feedback before and i’ll say it again, I’d love a sort of online status feature.
Like set it to online- normal, current sky. Everyone can seen you’re online and tp to you.
Set to offline- Nobody can see you’re online or tp to you.
Set to favorites only/invisible- Only favorited friends can see you’re online and tp to you, everyone else sees you’re offline

Obviously this isn’t foolproof or anything but it’s a nice idea to me. Sometimes I really want to socialize with only one group of people, or i can only handle speaking one language at the moment, and I’d rather not be rude and ask someone to leave if they tp. Does that make sense..?

However sky is running on its own system though. I forget the word i think it’s called an engine? Maybe that complicates things. edit- yes the engine. Like unity, unreal, etc. TGc has said they built their own engine for sky

Quality of life features are super important and I really hope TGC is looking into adding/reconfiguring the current designs some more. The recent settings page UI redesign has given me hope

Yes, it looks like they are considering fitting more into the UI in the future. I do wonder why the translator isn't in Live yet, because it is working fairly well. It's never going to be possible to make a perfect translator tool, given how fluid languages can be online with slang and abbreviations.

I wonder what they are planning for it since they aren’t releasing it yet. It really feels finished, besides minor UI tweaks like having to have the chat sidebar open and small bugs like sometimes the translator failing if the message is not translatable.
If they didn’t have something else planned for it I think they’d just release it soon. Since they have waited for so long it feels like they have a plan for it you know?

To be honest, I don't know which platform it's powered by but the translator can interpret meanings and different word definitions better than Google Translate I'm not sure if that's true or just my impression though

Camera lock. I usually get it in prairie and valley and its annoying a little true that. But beta is much better than live

Camera lock is triggered by the following spirits for me even if they have not been touched at all:
Butterfly Field spirit.
Birds Nest spirit.
Sanctuary spirit (leftover from prev season) in the spiral cave.
Proud stance spirit in Valley rink.
Those are the only ones I have noticed.

I think you can still fly from the murals in sanctuary, but when you can’t is if you havent done the quests there and you go close to the questgiver. I’m not a fan of the automatic camera movements either eg. In wasteland first krill area spirit.

Is the chevron level tied to the forged candles? (I will try to explain it)
Yesterday when i started collecting in beta i had a candle icon ~90% full. When i collected homespace it filled up totally, and my internal chevron level dropped immediately.
Today i had a candle icon ~10% full. I collected broken temple, one krill area and some parts of graveyard to fill it up. My internal chevron level only dropped when i reached the full candle icon. 🕯
What I’m trying to say is as far as I see the chevron level is currently ‘counting’ your full candles rather than the amount of wax you collected. In this case if you leave your candle almost full at the end of the day, the next day you will have 3 chevrons for a way shorter time than those who has empty candle. Did anyone had similar experiences?

I believe I have noticed this as well. I've had a few days of not redeeming the pending candles in the icon until the next day and the 3 chevrons did seem to fill quicker.

I thought the counter would reset each day, but it does make (some) sense that it would take into account the unforged candles left. I suppose it means that you should always forge your candles each day, at the very least.

Hmm, I've noticed how dream's item pricing felt more balanced compared to the previous season, prophecy. Getting dream's cosmetics felt much more natural.

( Node 2 and up = 4 days worth of candles ). Felt like forever to do #^^)

The prices could wildly change before the season hits live, and I think I remember the mods asking people not to make charts with beta prices because of this. That being said, I think it was around 80 ish per spirit, if I remember correctly

the currency conversions aren't going to go exactly by the currency exchange rates. google/apple will add their own fees and local taxes also affect the prices. US is really the only one that can take the price at face value

A different kind of challenge after having everything in live i guess? I had a real capeless friend and they noticed a bunch of small changes, which i would have never. Simply because it’s too natural for me to have a cape and fly up or towards somewhere or collect wings. Eg. If i remember correctly, the trials were completable for a while for real capeless, then they bonded the completion to collecting the wing at the end. But I certainly wouldn’t have the patience to play every single day capeless

Last invite wave wiped access for anyone currently in beta. If you didn't re-opt in Nov 30th to dec 1st, that's why you don't have access anymore. It just takes Google a good month (or longer) to force revoke status.

Beta version of cozy chat: I was in vault doing my daily quests and saw two players struggling to find people to get them into the 4 player areas — one on floor one and one on floor two. I used my 5 candles to offer each of them a hand (and to help one of them get the „send a gift“ quest), then I used my chibi OOB powers to get them in. They both needed the praying spirit and one needed the levitation spirit for the first time it made me smile to see them able to finally get in

Beta can be a lonely place, and if I can help others get spirits behind multi-person doors, I‘d spend all my candles all over again

I don’t really like this change, they added another thing that requires candles now.. why does everything in this game have to be about candle running? For 6 nodes on the sanctuary tree you’d have to pay 18 candles... I really don’t like that idea, it feels like a cheap trick in the long run. Completing the quests and getting the hearts was akin to developing friendships with the quest giver of the area, the heart they gave in return was almost as a thanks for helping them recollect/relive their memories..
now I’m basically purchasing a heart? Instead of being a thank you gift. It became another source of heart currency now :( it makes sense on regular spirits, since you’re purchasing their items... but the quest giver has always been in the area and they’re not selling cosmetics and items and spells, they show memories.

Am actually curious how you guys are feeling, but I feel like some of the changes that have been introduced in beta, despite being introduced to reduce candle running, the addition of candle requirements in other parts of the game, have really not reduced the grind req for crs... am I the only one who feels this way? I did put this in feedback in b4 someone tells me to feedback it... not sure why...but I really miss the days when I started playing this game and instead of starting a cr routine it was about oob exploring... instead of cr it was about meeting people and leading them through some region or letting them lead me

I agree with this statement, you basically just lost the "wow" factor to these new experiences and it's just missing new stuff to you, since it became repetitive and there isn't much to discover of the game itself, and now it's just a daily routine of doing crs with nothing much special about it.
I do feel like this most of the time, and seasons with new areas cheer me up with new places to go and explore, also, beta gives me that feeling even more since it's always changing and I can see how it builds up to its final version, it's like having a backstage place to see everything (and also help with its development), I love this and also the beta community that comes with it.

The 20 quest was an old beta quest type which got reactivated accidentally a few builds ago. You needed to collect light fragments and you got a candle/some wax if you finished it. This got inactivated again a while ago.

I often merge with people in home space, prairie and valley excluding my friends. Beta felt more empty after sanctuary testing (when i was a beta moth). For the 8 player you have a higher chance to get it shortly after reset, or try to gather a few friends who can help with it.

Because i just did a full wax run in live and in beta to compare, and with the double candle bundle event active, i was able to get 24 candles in live but only 15 in beta. So for people who like to do a full run, the new system seems to be less providing than what it currently is in live

If they focus on bug fixing the players will complain that there is no new content
If they focus on content the players will complain there is no bug fixes
The devs have to make a balance between the two, and sadly a very annoying bug has popped up right before their holiday breaks which is why there’s no fix for it yet

I think the servers register our candle/wax count as we accumulate it and so doesnt matter we forge or not and it is the same for the chevron system which resets daily but yeah currently this system is a bit buggy and so the daily candle no. Accumulated might vary but it shouldnt reduce the no. If you havent tapped it if thats what you asking. Also the chevron falls below regardless of us forging the candles or not and resets daily. Atleast thats what i have found out so far

I think two of my friends mentioned that their chevrons dropped when they had untapped candles after reset and they collected them. What i saw is the system registering your forged candles not your wax count. It will only drop if you reach a full candle. Eg. I had an empty candle after reset and it took me way more time to drop my first chevron than when i had an almost full. In that case i almost immediately dropped one internal chevron level.

Yes that should be the case but currently the race is giving full candles regardless of which chevron you are and so we are getting different no. Of candles each day and not the usual 18 but if you have collected wax then the candles wont get reduced from your total even if you dont forge for a long time

This system is currently not properly tuned i guess so if you are asking about the current version in beta then what i do is forge the candle after every filled meter but if you have some time and do 2 crs on different days where in one you dont forge candles and the other you forge after every candle and see any difference in the candle count then you can submit it as a bug report

Which spirit hasn’t been moved from the race?

I think all 3 spirits has been moved from the races and placed in citadel and coliseum but this question would go well in #questions-and-help

There should be 4 spirits in total in stadium if the three from races moved but I couldn’t find the 4th

I played the new season in beta but i was too fast and didn't pay attention to a lot of things, will the area be completely open from day one or do we need to wait for the second or third quest to access the yeti slope?

From past seasons, they have 1-2 week gaps in between quests, since the season has to last 10 weeks

yes. while testing we had to wait for the yeti slope quest before accessing. @pure umbra

But, we dont know if we will be able to access the slope from day 1, or if the boats not activating were just a beta thing. We'll just have to wait and see

I don’t know where to put this story but because it involves beta I will put it here to be safe. My friend is visually impaired due to an incident, and she has trouble seeing small details and stuff. I noticed with the candle boost the orbs of light got bigger. She played sky before the incident and somewhat still after. I decided to show her beta and the enlarged light orbs above candles during the boost. She could tell which candles are light up better. I thought it was pretty cool that she can enjoy the game in an easier way.

the valley hermit area, is always available? or only from some quest?

Unsure. It could be that it only opens up once you've done the hermit quest, which in Live wouldn't be the first week.

yeti slopes was changed to hermit valley, alongside the name for the spirit. the quest timings and music were also revised after they first became accessible. most things in beta are changed in some way, but it's not always announced
