What is so wrong with this system - let AP players get some items for free, but let f2p players have the regular monstrous candle prices. Players who already have AP will have a much reduced grind. Some F2P players will get converted to buying an AP to reduce their grind. Those who have no means to pay will continue to grind and earn their cosmetics. Everyone walks home happy in the end.

In my view, the only argument you could possibly have against this is that 'we paid for it, so we do not want f2p players to be able to access our cosmetics in any way whatsoever' which straight-up points to toxic capitalism and elitism. I've been supporting TGC since Flow, and none of their games, press releases or other publications have the slightest hint or endorsement of toxic capitalism.

I think those with exclusive desires are not wrong, if they just want. But if they do everything just because they want, despite distorting the information and ignoring positive comments about the system, it's different. I am not saying that everyone is, but there are people like that exist and I met them. They're really "toxic" and the fact that we talk about having such people also helps people understand the whole picture

The only real defence I have for TGC blocking cosmetics behind a paywall is that, while it would suck, they are a small indie platform trying to keep their employees fed through a horrid pandemic.

But it's not a strong argument as TGCs player base is primarily kids who can't afford large purchases. They'd loose a large chunk of their player base of it was a straight up play wall.

Look Imagine you as a pass holder doing the grind whole season every day not missing a day. You got your cosmetics, you feel happy for it, it gives you a sense of accomplishment, it gave you a sense of identity in Sky.

Now imagine two months later, your hard earned cosmetics come out as a ts and there were complaints by groups of F2P players saying they don’t want this, complaining in TGC’s socmed it’s a bad spirit, saying it’s ugly...

I don’t know where I’m going with this, but it happened, and it was unpleasant at most.

@valid gyro both f2p players and ap players farm candles as much as the other ....if time on game farming is money then what is time making the money to spend in game plus time on game farming ? .... it’s like the same thing keeps getting said and I can’t stress enough that every sky player be a free or ap player farms candles as much as the other ...unless you buy candles because you don’t have time to farm because your busy making that money to buy candles with in the first place ..,as much as I want everyone in the game to have what they want for free it just don’t work like that ....if everything could be bought with just candles tgc would not have a business except money from those who buy candles because of lack of time - and that just wouldn’t support such a awesome game with the game being free to download and all the free cosmetics they give away every single season... seems like this is resolved, but I have 0.02 anyway: "elitism" is almost universally a negative thing, and it's insulting to call anyone elitist. "capitalist" is not universally negative, but the context is everything. any word used to lump people together into an easy-to-attack abstract target can be a source of conflict, so when disagreeing with each other, I give everyone this advice: be respectful and empathetic, try to understand the opinions of others as if they were your own before debating or contradicting. Arguments arise when we fail to understand each other, and reducing or over-simplifying other people's motivations and basic humanity will always lead in that direction.

Not everyone is going to like every cosmetic, and that’s fine. There have been several people who hated enchantment cosmetics and were disappointed when one came back as a TS (enchantment was my first pass buy) and honestly I didn’t mind

Ah I remembered where I was going with this. What I mean was there are toxic people at both sides of the spectrum. Both P2P and F2P. I had no problem with other players having a different opinion on cosmetics. But they did make it out as they were mad at tgc for coming up with a particularly less desirable ts for that week.

At the end spectrum, we have “elitist” P2P players but let’s not forget at the other end of the spectrum, there are “entitled” F2P players as well

again, "toxic" and "elitist" are perceptions of the person using those terms. I suggest avoiding labeling anyone in these ways because it removes the substance of why they might behave in a way you don't like. People on every of the hundreds of sides of IAP feelings are all people, and all have feelings stemming from their experience.

Actually if you think about it, theycant put the entrance to a season in the races. Here's why;

If you do, and you're racing.... You'd lose the light you collect, as well as your spirits you collect. You'd have to start the race all over, because it wouldn't register you as you "a racer", when you go back to the race.

I oobed thru door of race, and it didn't even give me a candle, let alone show the light fragments.

They would not be able to put the entrance of the season in the races because of this.

All of the beta channels currently have slowmode because this channel does, as it gets out of control during invite waves. Some people try to circumvent that by going to other beta channels to discuss or ask questions which we cannot allow. This isn’t a problem in the live channels
