Dev doesn't say that, they themselves insist they have no plans to apply it to live. It is toxic players who intentionally cut this information away so they have an advantage in arguing.

They’ll learn that treating beta as early access will come back to bite them when the features that are in beta stay in beta for a year

There will always be things you can't have. But once you earn items in a game, then it feels special to you. If it's just given to you, it doesn't have the same meaning. Things that are special like a holiday cape, that's special, and I personally don't think it should be offered "for free". Especially the amount of work they put into making them, like the Mischief cape.

It's sad that some can't get it, and there's a lot of items I missed as well. But I've come to terms with it, and accepted the fact that you can't always get what you want.

My point is... Sky isn't expensive. Not everything should be "earnable". It's what makes Sky, Sky. Seeing players with capes you can no longer obtain, it makes me look forward to the day that I get to show off my capes from Season of Prophecy and brag about it.

My friend is in Generation Dreams (this recent wave of new testers). They installed beta and was able to run it just well. But when they tried to open live, they described it being “just a black screen”. For some reason this only started happening when they installed beta. Well, if I grind everyday for 2/3 hours. And have nothing I like that I can spend on. I would quit as well. "Point of the game" is up to player who perceive it. Some people like to grind and get something out of it. Hence why grindy game exists. Not everyone is the same, some people like the grinding aspect of the game because they feel accomplished when they got something after hours of grinding. Some people like cosmetics and spend hundreds of dollars on it. Some people like the game the way the dev intended it to be. It isn't entirely free, what paid player get out of by spending, free players get it by investing a lot of time on it. I can admit that I'm more proud of the cape that I got by collecting hearts than the cape that I got by purchasing candles through IAP.

I am thankful for this new TS system. There. I said it. I am thankful that TGC is reducing the grind for us taking our Heath into consideration. Sure, it has a few loose screws. People who have a pass for the new season will be able to get things from wanderers for free, they will only need to redeem the main branch
People who do not have a Season Pass will receive items by buying with the regular candles they have accumulated

Ap holders payed for their adventure pass and worked hard to get the ults. So those who want the ults from past seasons (me included) should do something similar to that, as my friend suggested, a scavenger hunt with hints but you need an ap from a past season or from the current season. Also, if we take in count that every ults belongs to a different season and those who get them had to pay every season for an ap, I think that only one ap that you have should be use for two ults from a past season.

so you're telling basically that your 10 bucks wich give you around 25% extra candles during a season, allows you already to have double the items for free in comparison to f2p in less than 2 months (playing around 10 minutes daily) also months ahead and 2 or 3 exclusive items worth more then f2p playes waiting for around 10 months after a season ends and paying around 600 candles and 50 hearts by doing doing cr (wich will take around 34 days playing 2 hours daily)?, also they dont get those extra candles and don't get those exclusive rewards.
imo the AP already have enough value, no need to AP lock more items for f2p playes just for AP value reasons, I think there are some different reasons that I can see more suitabled to a ts system change

We don't know who the specific complainants are, pay or don't pay. And the more we don't know whether devs know that or not. Dev clearly needs everyone's move to make a concrete decision. And many free players think they are fine with the old system, which is why it is necessary to reconsider building new systems. Nothing is right at all or inherently right here, that's why developers always need ideas to improve. They may not have known who the pressures were before but now they know there are a lot of free players that are good at farming candles.

Why can you not see it happening? It's benefiting AP players by reducing their grind, it's encouraging more F2P players to buy the AP in order to reduce their grind, and last but not the least, it is not completely stopping free players from getting TS coemstics. I could argue that everyone can candle run, both AP and non-AP. Thus, having those AP locked items will give exclusivity and reward to the AP holders remarkably but definitely divide the game, which is sad.

The benefits of the pass is that you can get the cosmetics sooner. If you’re F2P player, then you’re gonna have to wait an ENTIRE SEASON and possibly more to get the prophecy cosmetics, much later after prophecy has gone into obscurity.

You would only need to buy a new AP if the TS falls between the seasons, which would probably only happen with one TS, looking at the schedule we've had lately. For example, the next TS arriving after Prophecy ends would have all its items available if you bought the Season of Dreams pre-order.

Were the benefits of the pass ever defined by the TGC? I find it hard to agree when the benefits of the pass has been vagued for people. I for one, defined benefits of the pass as solely for getting the ultimate gifts, not because of getting it early. But with this current TS system, they are also including those AP locked items. Which definitely bring more value to Adventure Pass.

However, if the benefits has been officially defined, then I would retort this statement.

The TS system will not be locked but the AP holders can get those supposedly AP-locked for free, not in discount, as opposed to non-AP holders who will have to pay for the candle price.

I think I know a solution to the TS problem.

People have trouble grinding.... But only because we don't get those extra white candles during seasons from quests. If TCG lowered the price of TS costs just a little... Then added the option to choose what candles you get during a season, would you all be happy with that?

It keeps the grinding, but eases up on it a bit. Each white candle quest, if I'm not mistaken, gives like 2 candles. That's 8 candles per day.

Plus a half done candle run? That's plenty.
Thought of this while collecting for the Beta TS, we can edit it a little. But I just think it's one of the best options.

Because if people did dailies for seasonal candles every day, you'd have a bunch of seasonal candles left over.
