I think someone said around 5000 players got the beta cape that time. I do wear mine occasionally, but it can also attract unwanted attention, I've noticed. So only when I am in good mood.

The Beta Cape was a one-time reward for the testing period prior to the iOS global launch. A future reward is not planned.

Beta at that time was basically there to help TGC work through various iterations of the game, until it reached its current design and main features. There were many bumps in the road, resets, crashes and confusion. 
The reward for being in beta now is a sneak peek into future seasons and functionalities.
It's important to remember that TGC is a small company and they probably couldn't afford to testplay everything themselves. Plus, I think their work ethic is about involving and engaging with their player base. So having a few thousand volunteers to test out their game was probably very valuable for the end product.

I kinda dislike the Point and Come Spirit’s new names.
Like, I get what TGC is going for, but the original names were much more memorable.
Plus, the theme of the Isle Spirit names was “travelers”, so making it more scattered about will break it.
I still like the new memories, but I would like it if TGC keeps the old names despite that.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the new capes in the realm spirit trees? Like the Dismayed Hunter, just got the purple cape for 30 ❤️ and unlocked the new wing buff for 9 ascended candles and there's a new purple cape which appears identical however is 90 ❤️

We're not quite sure what the difference is. When we try to wear it, the game crashes since it's trying to load something in that doesn't exist.
I'm thinking that it might have a pattern on it like the patterns in early beta! But that's just a thought. A hope.

The icon seems to be a placeholder, but the price isn’t one, it’s an intended change but not oen that is fully in game right now, so buying it will crash you if you wear it. But there will probably be an update in the near future with clarifications

we’re testing the new system yes. it’s not going to come to live any time soon since it’s a large overhaul and this may not even be the form it comes to live in. just be patient and hold off on feedback until we actually see what it’s like

I agree! Although I say it's more that phones nowadays can handle the capes better. I don't think they made that many changes to the graphics engine (although the fact that the game can run on a 2012 phone and still look beautiful is quite impressive.

Although if this is true, then what about the people who don't have as advanced devices? If someone in the area is wearing said cape then those with less high end devices will have performance issues just because someone is wearing the cape.
Gotta be considerate of all sides of the player base.

I think the cape design is probably going to be compressed onto the cape so it doesn’t take as much resources. The way the old design worked was that the design updated depending on the spirits you had. But also, the game graphics have indeed been lowered so more people with low end devices can play. Compare an early 2018 screenshot to now, and you’ll see that 2018 looks much more graphically advanced

iirc the devs were not very interested in bringing them back, but who knows, idk if it was the design referring to specifically the colors that made the cape difficult to handle or the design as of physics and how the capes moved back there (they had more nicer and fluid animation) anyways imo the prices would be kinda disappointing if are really the same, I go for new items and I think definitively the design as of colors can be handle by today's devices

There was an updated feature regarding star pins @worn trail . It allows strangers to warp to you if you both have star, but its letting complete strangers follow and hold your hand without consent

I'm assuming that this feature would be able to be turned off if you have star, but its definitely bugged, since we can't use star pins yet.
My biggest concern is griefing. I would never want anyone latching onto me if I want to be alone, especially with no way to make them let go of me

The official feedback on height is useless. I have given up. More than 200 telescopic potions have been obtained. Only the height problem has been bothering me. I knew that some players would never reach the highest level and I would not continue to use it. It is too disappointing.

Some players have put forward suggestions, and the authorities will not change them. This is what disappoints me most. I can't say that the authorities will definitely change them for you if they put forward suggestions, but there are many solutions to the problem of random height.
If there is no way to change the random problem of height in the game technology, but the official has no answer in this regard, only telling us that there are 4,000 kinds of heights, And when you enter this game, you will have a height value to influence your height change

Claws i think you’re confused, the prices of the existing capes aren’t changing, they are just placeholder items in the new tiers. Once the team have finalised these items the game will update and these placeholder items will be replaced with their actual counterparts (new items in the existing spirit trees)

Also, try to get the correct meaning. They mean that they have 2 years of content (seasons and other events) already planned. And after that, it's not like the content will stop. Ofc they won't already create new content for what is to come 3-4 years from now.
I also think that sky has yet a long way to go. It still just a "mobile" game. When it'll come to switch, and then slowly, on more platforms, it'll definitely gain popularity amd more players. So, i dont think they'll stop with making new stuff in 2022. They'll support it as long as the players do
Also, i dont know where you heard that they are making a new game. And i really think it's not true. Sky still is just barely 1.5 years old, it still has a long way to go.

I guess Everyone's journey is different, most of my friends play sky everyday , not that much, but they have already made sure that they'll not stop playing until tgc keeps giving us new content, and so have i. So, i still have my friends and play happily. But i guess that's really not the case with everyone.
Also, i am always excited and looking forward to whatever new stuff they have to bring, which keeps me hooked along with the main reason being friends.

Sky ain’t that buggy at all .. I think it runs really good on a wide variety of devices and I never get bugs -very rarely ..also all my friends all with Different devices think the same ... tgc do a awesome job for what the game is and how many devices can run a game so graphics intense

Claws i think you’re confused, the prices of the existing capes aren’t changing, they are just placeholder items in the new tiers. Once the team have finalised these items the game will update and these placeholder items will be replaced with their actual counterparts (new items in the existing spirit trees)

The feature still effects everyone. And wanting to collect everything possible is not a new player thing. Not everyone has time. If everyone farmed fully everyday since the day they started, people would also not play beaucse the game is all about farming to the point of frustration

It’s important to remember, if TGC need new items tested wide scale, they’ll make them available somehow for beta testers to test. If it’s not deemed that necessary, then any beta testers who have completed constellations can test them out. If you’re discussing them in terms of when they go to live, I don’t think it should be a race to get them unlocked. People play in different ways for entirely different reasons and people prioritise what is important to them.

see I'm on sky every day and I rarely farm candles. usually I'm getting up to shenanigans with friends like getting lost in oob or feeding each other to krills or practicing music together or that one time I ran eden blindfolded

I can certainly see where Claw is coming from and how more items could create more pressure to farm but with that said I also think that the pros outweigh the cons with new special items for moths to set their sights on as a reward and vets to have a place to spend so many hearts.
I’d rather the game continue to be updated with new items than not and base cosmetics at least have no rush. If anything the only rush is getting enough grinding to do the TS and still upgrade the normal constellations, but that is a flaw with the TS system they are working on, not the new items themselves.

I currently farm in sky chill beaucse I don't need to rush. But if this thing happens with all those prices, I'm gonna loose it beaucse all that grinding I did will be nothing near new prices.
I don't need to give 5 hours everyday for nearly a whole month just to get my dream item while I still have to study, hang out with my family and care for myself.

I been doing it for 10 months some of the friends I get into shenanigans with have been on since old beta in 2018. and it's ok if you don't want to play anymore too. not everyone is going to enjoy the same things TGC does do a really good job of finding the balance that works for the most people

@vast mortar it’s pretty dependant on the player too. I’ll adore my Anubis mask this season and I still adore my manta cape from the last season. They certainly took a long time to get and grinding. It’s arguably different grinding but the same thing applies for my table and fireworks staff, a heart grind which back in my moth days seemed big but I loved the reward.
I understand that these new items won’t be for everyone, they won’t really be for me if they have no special appearance or use, but that doesn’t mean others won’t love them. It comes at little cost to me if others love them and I don’t. Since they will never go I have no rush to need to get them so it’s easier not to stress. Not impossible but much easier. It’s really a weight of pros and cons and I feel like there will be minimal negatives for some really big positives in the community for these.

@vast mortar If you’re really worried about it being hard then I recommend my route of constellation gifts. Fill it up with friends, log in for five minutes each day to collect and light back and 200 or less days later you’ll have it with minimal need to grind.

Cosmetics don't affect gameplay too much. We have a few functional items (chibi mask, table, instruments) that are easy enough to obtain. I think otherwise the vast amount of options we have kinda encourages people to pick the things they enjoy the most rather than obsessing with 100% completion. the fll completion seems more like a goal for long term players than the casual person who picked sky up off the app store randomly one day

there’s many ways to make the grind less stressful
like harbin said, the constellation helps a lot ! Some other quick ways to get hearts are:
- Meditation quests
- Boats
- trading if you can
and also, to streamline my constellation, I tend to keep tabs on it and remove people who have been inactive, so then I can fill their slot with someone more active who will give gifts of light more often

I think it’s nice for TGC to give veteran (and all) players a new goal and something to work towards! I don’t mind the prices. Even over time we won’t have items to buy from TS if you have played for long enough. No one has to have ALL the items unless you want them and the path to having them is available, for free, to everyone.

There have been some things I’ve been able to do to cope, ofc I don’t know your situation so it might not be applicable. Mostly I’ve streamlined my process so it takes as little time as possible and doesn’t feel very tiring.
But ultimately I suggest trying to get help for your completion anxiety from a professional since it seems to be causing you a lot of stress

I did try to get in all my bug reports and feedback and did play around with several things the first couple of days. the ascended capes are bought with hearts, its not mandatory for people to purchase. if you dont like it, you dont have to collect it imo! but for people who completed their constellations already itd just be a reason to stick around so you can 100% it again haha

It's okay to not like new cosmetics, you're not obligated to unlock them. Leave constructive feedback in #beta-feedback and try not to be hard people who have differing opinions than your own, regardless if they're positive or negative sentiments. Currency costs associated with items has little to nothing to do with the complexity or fanciness of the items. Some of the simplest items in the game take a long time and a lot of effort to obtain.
The new capes are inspired by the pre-global launch capes, but are intentionally simplified for performance reasons. The team doesn't want them to be fanciful. They are a symbol of being kind to others and building long term friendships.
