I really like the system ...i also like the candle farming one but as of now i think the ts is too cheap (people still complain) i just want a game where all are equal .. Right now the people who payed for a pass are not getting it easy when one of the items that were in a pass they bought come back for free... (not enough candles either)

I wish there will be options to choose from. I'm a pass player now, but i wasn't when I started (from the ingame messages i didn't really feel the need to have one) . However I really liked spending a lot of time with my vez friends who helped me to collect and was happy with me when i got the items i liked.

In the end the TS isn’t going to be a one size fits all thing.. there will be people who are bound to not like... I personally wish items could still be purchased with the candles but also wish the pass could be an option for people who want cheaper ts prices
And I think honestly the current prices are pretty demanding already... the upcoming one based on estimates will be 125-130 —-> on average if you end up getting all of the candles everyday —> that;s 125/17 = 8 days of candle grinding that’s required for this.
I mean in all honesty guys, consider that people are playing in the game and that means they’re investing time into it... it’s these players who invest time that are really helping with more fuller servers...
@desert mango according to ktjin, a lot of people who purchase items from the TS are paying money —- via candle packs... and ultimately paying more than 10 every week... so basically they are paying more than what pass holders were paying to get them..

Exactly @spark lance make something too hard to get and you demotivate people, make something too easy to get, and you make the item less valuable... it’s a tough line to thread... I feel even 170 is a lot :( that’s full grinding for 10 days with up to 4 days rest, then repeat...
my god if that’s what it took to play the game (and I get bored of cosmetics very easily)I probably wouldn’t play it at all honestly... (the same reason I quit Genshin Impact, the grinding is too much and takes away from time better spent elsewhere, and that game has 100X more things to do than sky does... yet I still quit it, because I didn’t like grinding for primogens... that’s the only way to unlock stronger characters with the loot boxes...)

I mean the past couple of weeks, I’ve been going from candle running 2 realms to candle running 1 realm to just farming seasonal candles + tasks and now that’s all I do — the seasonal candles + tasks...
At the end of the day, the goal shouldn’t be to keep all the players that start playing the game... because people are bound to leave... you do what you feel is right, there might be contention, but that’s alright, because people who don’t want to stay, who leave, will always be replaced by new people as long as the game is appealing to people
That’s why I wouldn’t worry about TGC either, their game is genuinely beautiful and dissenters who don’t like certain aspects or decisions might rebel and leave, but they’re not irreplaceable

You can get 18🕯/day, that’s skipping Eden, but collecting everywhere else. A full 2-2.5 hours candle running each day.
18🕯 x 14 days = 252 🕯 when TS arrives
But keep in mind most TS also cost 13 🤍.
3 x 13 = 39 🕯 spent on heart trades.
252 - 39 = 213 🕯
So this means that people will have 213🕯 and 13🤍 every two weeks if they do a full candle run every day. Now, I’m done with the normal constellations, but think of all the players who are not done. They hardly have any candles left to spend on normal constellations!
That said, there is no win-win when it comes to prices. Someone isn’t going to be happy. Everyone has their own opinion. And that’s okay. TGC is trying to do their best.

its your choice where you spend the time and money... if you go to a restaurant and purchase something... it’s your choice to make that purchase, you may not feel it was worth it in the long run, but that doesn’t mean that the restaurant has an obligation to compensate for your meal or your drive their or your time, especially if you’ve already used the items for so long.....
Like I mean most dollar stores don’t even take returns... it may be the best $1 your spent or the worst... but it was your choice and no one else is responsible for it but you...

TS wasn't designed to get items to free players outside of the expressions. It was designed as a catch-up mechanic.

They don’t mean to say they don’t want to grind, they’re saying that the items they want to grind for will be blocked by 2 currency systems - one with irl money, and another with in game currency (and I doubt the items will just be free for pass holders, I’m sure there will be additional candle currency on it)
And they want the option of using a pass to discount the prices or to use regular candles like normal, grind and all...

Either way, buying AP or being F2P player, it makes NO sense to have items AP locked. An AP lasts, if we look at last 2 seasons, 70 days on average. A TS comes every 2 weeks. This means your AP privileges would last you enough to see 5 TS at best!! Well guess what...there were 6 spirits per season until Prophecy. I don’t think that’s even fair.

Yea @steady pond that part makes no sense to me either... my guess is, they didn’t expect it to scale this way... perhaps at some point, it was only supposed to be the first 4 seasons? But then they realized that seasons will always be “old” because there will always be players who are “new” who have missed out on them

TGC has always been weak at communication with their userbase. Not to say they dont try - they certainly do - it's just never clear enough and it leads to fans having to speculate and guess exactly what they mean. I hope for something as big as this they would take their time to write a clearcut statement so everyone can understand what exactly they're trying for with the new TS system

I have been playing since Sanctuary, so far I have bought 2 AP because I appreciate TGC and love the game they’ve put so much work into. However, I also understand many players can’t spend money on a game for whatever reason. I don’t think there should be a paywall for those players as the current system is a good incentive for people to play regularly.

Yes, Ktjn did say that the majority of players do spend actual money on unlocking both TS and seasons. It's difficult to argue against that, however much we want everyone to be able to enjoy everything in the game for free.

If you cr every day during/between seasons you can get approximately 251/307 candles over 2 weeks. If you hoard those candles and don’t spend too many on constellations, friend trees or heart trades then I don’t see how TS prices are expensive to be honest.

But Elius, you're making a very good point here, because once the TS was introduced I definitely noticed a marked difference in how players spend their candles. Hardly anyone offers a candle anymore. And to me, that means the core concept of the game is being diluted.

The other thing is that there;s just not much else to spend these candles on —-
I liked that they changed the ultimate gifts to ascended candles, because that became a big reason to go through Eden... before I’d just run through Eden once every 5 weeks — cause each visit gave me 14 candles and aside from resize spells, I never needed to use them on anything else. Except TS...
as for spells, the spell shop is an amazing thing to have, but there’s only so much of any item I would want... I don’t really use spells that often... honestly my most sought after spell is resize, occasionally shrink- if I want to be a chibi and keep my mask, but unlocking the in game cosmetics makes their spell equivalent kind of redundant for me...
For instance, I didn’t need any more shrink spells when I unlocked the chibi mask, or table spells when I unlocked table, or firework spells when I unlocked the fireworks staff....

They only work on one account. I.e. Can't use it on my phone and a friend's phone and can't use it in beta and live. I assume if I only use it in my on live that would be fine

then i have no idea whether it'd have an effect; i was originally going to suggest that it might allow you to simply join your friend's session, but that sounds like it's overlapping with one of the existing pins

Anyways, I'm curious how it will work especially since i use an android phone and an ipad to play. My live acc is on both device and i have ro scan the pin on android. My ipad has a lot of problems with the spells from half full timer to not working at all. Android worked just fine but since you cant link your ios account on android and android on ios in beta... i coldnt really test how will android spell activation work on ipad account.

A: Log in to the same Sky account on your iPad and STAR compatible devices (iPhone 7 or later iPhone models and Android NFC enabled devices). Scan the STAR on your phone then switch to continue playing on your iPad.
the beta thing though, that's what i was mentioning a while back: you can apparently make your device boot up the game by scanning your pin, which is why i think the pin is probably designed to only work on the live version -- or else people with both live and beta are going to confuse their devices about which app to boot up

Yes kinda. But like i said my ipad is a mess when it comes to spells. I get 5 mins at start instead of 10(happens in the live game spells too), tgc cape spell doesn't work at all, calls either, and I don't know why, when everything works fine on my android. (Which has the same live account but different beta). So what im curious is, if i eg. Activate tgc cape spell on android then switch back to ipad where it didn't worked before for me ever if I activated it there, will the cape appear?

Live and beta are separate apps. I would assume if you connect the pin to your beta account it would boot beta app because even if you use the same Google account to connect they're still two different sky accounts

i imagine it should? i've had the game crash on me while i had one of the beta pin spells active, and when i loaded it back up a minute later, the spell was still going, so i'm assuming the timer and effect goes by the game's server
here's hoping they saw any bug reports you sent about that and fixed that up for you though before it becomes an issue when the pins arrive for you

based on the way you described it it actually sounds like how it's supposed to work. if you miss the platform then you do glide away until you hit a reset wall to you last checkpoint

There is a place after the second checkpoin i think where if you fall it takes a few seconds until u hit reset zone too.

I think blep is right in that the specific position you fell from prevents the reset wall from being able to be closer. just speculation though

there're some instances where it doesn't know what to do with the translation because the single character response is actually just a "sound response" -- closest equivalents in english are like "ah", "oh", "yeah!" -- probably contextually dependent, and translating off of that message alone confuses the bot

Oh I was in beta when they accidentally released something in orbit that showed all the seasonal constellation next to the elder constellations. Was so amazing to see all the seasonal constellations in one place beautiful sight and I was able to get some of the friendships 🙃

The red flower was for a Chinese national holiday, that's why it was free. As for the white flower, like Mirian said, it wasn't a $20 cosmetic, it was a charity event. The flower was just a small, cheap (in terms of development costs) token of our appreciation for your generosity.
I know it's easy to make assumptions when you're lacking important context to things that are perceived as unfair.

the only feedback we can really give at this point on this system is what we think of the items which we're seeing have an AP lock on them; in terms of actual effect on beta players, the system as it is doesn't actually affect us at all since the requirement for an AP can just be freely obtained in beta (which somewhat confuses me a bit in terms of how we're meant to position ourselves in giving feedback on something which has no effect on us right now)

Thank you alpaca 🦙, I think this version of the TS is a much more fair way towards the old paid players. Tgc can actually bring back the ultimates this way , like when we had the seasonal constellations in eden.Finish the seasonal constellation and get the ultimate as a reward.

I like the idea of collecting all the ts to be able to buy the ultimate, however as more and more spirit is added to the pool it will be close to impossible for newer players to do it. I would prefer that whoever unlocked all the ts from a season with AC would be able to buy the ultimate instead of bought all the item from all the ts. Since a ts is expensive I didn't buy those items i didn't liked when i was a moth and needed to complete constellations and spend candles on friends and ts too. So the pressure to buy everything from a ts would reduce the candles you spend on friends in case ultimates required every item from every ts. hope it makes sense so hard to explain my thoughs in english.

@random gull Last year, there was a bug. The constellations of previous seasons appeared in orbit. I didn't know that it was a bug and i could unlock ascended node of other spirits from previous seasons. That's the reason how i could reach lv.11.

The shepherd role is what happens when the game decides you're a friendly player. It lets you see a symbol above a moth's head. It makes it easier to know who's new to the game and help them if you so wish.

the system might change quite a bit and still make it to live or not go to live at all. the devs are just getting a feel for it. there will certainly be an eventual solution to the daily grind complain if they're having us test this but we don't know if this is it per se

Truthfully, I love the ts system since my friends and I were so busy at work; we ended up buying candles for ts. I hope devs would change items on adv pass mark to be free, that would be awesome. Because if the pricing is still the same, then I do not see what's the point.

I'm busy with work too but i still manage to find some time to do candle run. I do not like this new system since there are many non ap players who Just can't afford it and they might be upset if it ever comes live
Also it would be a little bit unfair if pass holders got ap locked items for free
A small discount from the other side would be nice, but IF this feature ever comes to live

I get why it's going to be problematic since child plays this game too, and a lot of my friends couldn't afford for AP. But somehow I see it fair if you'd consider vets who sees ts as an issue since idk when 🤣
Basically you get ap locked items for free too back then, because you already bought the AP.
Because if in the end you'd still need so many candles and hearts to unlock it, I don't see any point on doing it tbh.

I recall someone saying TGC would lose money on ap locked TS (because of people buying more candle packs than they spend on AP) so this isn't a money move for TGC. They really are coming from the perspective of trying to be fair to older players while reducing the grind for newer players.

A lot of people would trade heart for a pass, I guess that's fair too. Some have pass to spare for hearts. That way some who can't afford AP can still make it

That's a legit grievance, and people who might have made a different purchasing decision should be compensated. The other "problem" is griefers crying about how their items aren't "rare" enough to lord over the peasantry; this is a nonproblem, and should be ignored. The main problem with the system in beta is that it coddles toxic gamers while not actually addressing the people with a legitimate grievance.

Some items from traveling spirits now were behind the pass in constellations so i understand why people are a bit upset about it. They had to get pass to unlock them

@grave jetty Yeah exactly. That's why I kind of see it fair since now people have to buy AP too to obtain AP locked items. Technically it's kinda not our fault that the game was released later or we found the game later on.

Thr vets should be compensated for being sold something under false pretenses. 72 candles would cost twice what they paid for the pass: more than sufficient.
