you have to play to a specific point in the game before you can go through a portal. otherwise you'll get the 'finish your adventure before you can come back' message. i think the point was forest-valley. somewhere there. it's in live too.

rice, you don't need to do full beta runs every day if you don't have the time or energy -- try rotating between the realms you do on any given day if you need to manage your time
kai, if you still wanna fiddle around with something, i'd suggest going around looking for beta moths to help -- the sooner they progress through the game (e.g. through being able to pass through more spirit gates, or being able to get into the office), the wider a range of areas they'll be able to beta test

i used to run beta and live every day. it gets tiring, since i also have the chinese version too. 3 skys to candle run on.
now i kinda just... do valley (races) and get candle cakes on all the versions and then go uber people/find bugs in beta. i dunno.

Even once the season starts, TGC can adjust the timer to increase it or shorten it as needed. Really depends on what they want us to test and we just go along with it

Make sure in the future that you have notifications on for the beta updates and beta invites channels. They were pinging like crazy a few days ago to make sure everyone knew.
Don’t worry about losing your beta progress. It was an access wipe but not a progress wipe. If you get back in on the next wave you’ll pick up where you left off.

Traveling Spirits are randomizes according to the announcements, with some certain parameters in place, but what that means is that we might see a TS come back again, and we have seen that happen already once I believe. So people who ascended that TS when it visited the 2nd time, didn’t get an additional buff that week.

@spark lance whether it’s that or otherwise, I love the new UI changes for the flight toggle and the wing icon. It’s SO MUCH more intuitive for new players just learning how flight works! Seriously so much better!
Also, I’m mostly interested in 11 because I want to see what happens to the diamonds on my cape! (I assume we’ll just get the extra partial outline line the prerelease capes that only had 3 diamonds.)

That’s why they reset the timer in the first place. I’m sure we will have an update in a couple days to get the season pass preorder and then shortly after that the season will start testing. Tomorrow is Monday so I’m sure our amazing team will be working hard. 🥳 we don’t know exactly when an update will come...but it will be soon! For those who are finding it hard to balance beta and live, I recommend focusing on live unless you 100% everything already. Beta progress doesn't matter as much since it can be wiped at any time.
When the new season comes for testing, I usually focus a bit more time into beta for the duration of it, but other than that, I play live more and just do my dailys

Think of the meter as 0-100, 0=new 100=full shepard. Instead of semi-random matchmaking simply based on friends and distance, think of it in terms of creating an "ideal server". A mix of experienced and new players with the goal being an average of 50 for any particular server.

Shepherd is someone who’s friendly enough to guide new players. About the lore thing you can come up with pretty much anything you want. Only some parts we know for sure are cannon

We don’t know what makes the meter go up, but when it’s full and says “shepherd” you’ll have a heart symbol above your head instead of the usual arrow (when trying to light up players) when new or less experienced players are close enough to tap on you to light you up. For now it’s a beta only feature and has been for months

Em, it's in live, just not visible. This way when they activate it (unless they do a wipe on progress) you will already have your accumulated ranking and status. {Edit: My ranking in live shows 0.85 and shepherd, whatever that means}{Edit 2: this was gotten by legitimate methods using Android's built in logcat feature}

Yes, Elder hair has been bugged for two patches in beta and unfortunately made it into Live. I did report it twice. I’m sure they will fix it soon. I heard someone got Forest Elder button when calling down Prairie Elder (in Live), so maybe that is a clue for the team?

Well, Google did engineer the Android Open Source Project. Why not use their store to distribute your application? They could have used the Amazon Store or Galaxy Store... Then they wouldn't hit a wider audience. Other app distribution platforms for Android are essentially pirating. Edit: for beta, the Play Store is the only app distribution platform where you can limit testers for Android...

If beta was open to all for download and testing i reckon it might get out of control fast, so the limit on invites and players (in beta, i believe Apple and Google also has their own tester limit) is to make sure the devs gets the information they need-- when they need it ^^

@wooden kettle before the update on live my ipad was fine on 60fps, no overheating at all. after the update default graphics was set to maximum and overheats even on 60fps. my phone can barely handle lowest graphics without overheating

yeah i got the same issue - i have an ipad pro that generally runs smoothly on 60fps and the highest setting as well, no frame drops or anything. after the recent update i started getting choppy frames in certain areas — sanctuary, forest, valley citadel, shipwreck and parts of vault

You can test beta on any fps. In fact, sometimes it may be of value to TGC to state what setting you used when a bug happened. It’s not in the bug report questionnaire as a specific question, but I asked Alex once and he agreed that it can be valuable information sometimes. Also remember that lower graphics can affect how things in the landscape appear, especially at a distance.

Your 100% atipleb ...the draw distance is the most effected on graphics settings ... its nice to beable to see things far away so you know theirs a candle bundle in the distance for example ... on low graphics you have to get closer before your gpu draws it .... also the antialising is different on each setting which is how smooth the edges of a object are ...on low settings things have jagged edges due to no antialising ...i cant wait to see what future graphics updates they bring to sky ... example dynamic lighting and shadows pixel shading —gonna be more amazing than it already is 🤍

Nope it don’t have dynamic lighting ...but they done a good job with what can be done on phones right now 😘 some games have had similar to dynamic lighting on mobile devices ...when I played them my phone could not handle it one bit

Singapore was one of the countries that had live android in January. so you're good! samsung is an android it's possible their devices weren't compatible with the app at the time. It doesn't even show up in google play store AT ALL if your device isn't compatible. TGC has been working hard to make it compatible with as many devices as possible

just remember to provide feedback on things in #beta-feedback in addition to bug reports! they want to know if things are confusing, good, bad, etc. Be constructive though. don't just say "I hate this throw it in the trash" if you don't like something, explain why, give suggestions for things you think might improve it. We don't control where the devs go with it but that feedback is still valuable

I've seen speculation over the idea that they're based off art from the concept art released by TGC. The middle one is believed to be a bat mask- I hope that's the case but nothing is confirmed

You "buy" the pass in the store like you would in live. The beta store isn't connected to anything, so you'll just get it for free.
