There's no practical reason for an event to continue in beta once it has hit live. Think of it as a sign of a job well done. TGC let beta testers try it out, got bug reports and feedback and they straighted out the bumps. The event is good to launch live and beta's role in it is over. Usually it’s over in 2 weeks but for enchantment it stretched out longer cause it took a while for the orange light cutscene/ark shop to be ready

You’re honestly not missing much in beta right now, lots of testers have tried out the new blocking stuff. ATM most new beta people are just doing early moth things: unlocking spirits, getting more wedges, maybe buying chair to oob glitch through doors cause beta is so empty.

Yes, beta cape was given to players to wear in both beta and Live. We had to make sure to link our Live account to the same e-mail/GC one as our beta. That was all. ETA an umpteenth time: There were certain criteria for players to be eligible also.

@dusk bay to answer your question from QnA: yes it is intentional. The cape locked behind the 99 ascended candles (and 999 hearts for cape) have been in testing in beta for a long while. It’s supposed to serve as a long term goal for “those who have everything”

It's a little different if you're being unconstructive about a specific feature you do not like or persistent bug we've been unable to fix despite our best efforts. By "unconstructive" I mean increasingly hostile, aggressive, and sometimes downright abusive feedback that escalates over time. It is okay to not like a feature, it is okay (and welcome) to tell us that you don't like it. It's NOT OKAY to get toxic and abusive just because the feedback channel is hidden and it feels like you're screaming into a void. It is perfectly normal and expected that not every person will like every feature, change, or design decision.

i'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you have the capeless cape you can fly. if you're just regular capeless (new player or something like that) no you can't fly.

having the forest elder hair does not grant the invisible cape. it was possible to get the elder hair/complete that constellation before that cape was added to the fish call friendship tree.
If that's the case, it's possible to circumvent the 99 ascended candle requirement to ascend that spirit, but you'd still need the 999 hearts to unlock the invisible cape itself.

Ios and Android are both unique operating systems, a while back in live pairs of friends who where android/ios experienced more splits than android/android and ios/ios friends. Identifying the operating system of both parties are good details.

I was not able to test new friend blocking system in beta yet, but in live I already encountered a bug which I already reported. Apparently, I was the blocked person as I saw the shade. I definitely did not block this player. Their name appeared occasionally, esp. when impacted by the environment, and they were able to offer high five to me. I could not see their friendship tree though.

They're free in beta for testing, but you still need to collect seasonal candles the same as you would in live by doing quests and finding the candle bunches each day. Although you get a bit more candles per day than you do in live because the season is shorter

I downloaded both the TestFlight app & got into the sky beta - but accidentally pressed “end beta testing” in TestFlight. I can still play on the sky beta app but cannot submit bug reports or anything as TestFlight comes up empty when I open it. Anyone know if this means I am in beta or out of it? This happened like a week ago

When beta receives another update/patch, you likely won’t be able to play beta anymore. But there will be another beta-access wipe after the next season. You can rejoin beta next-next season at least!

I'm an android user, I just became a beta tester two days ago and have yet to get the app (yes I've followed through on what the beta faqs but it didnt really work) to any other android users that have had trouble but have gotten the game, how many days did it take you to finally get it? The Spoon: I honestly don’t know the answer to that, I’m just a regular player who sees info shared here and there by devs and by word of mouth. But after this week’s earlier beta access wipe, old beta players were still able to play it, but updates/patches will kick them out.

Most of my DMs and cold pings tend to be easy questions that have been answered hundreds or thousands of times, pinned in multiple channels, made into bot commands, parts of FAQs and whatnot.
And then I have sweet souls who spend more time apologizing for "being a bother" to report something very serious, than explaining the serious matter, when they should be completely comfortable reaching out for those things instead of afraid of doing the wrong thing.

i've been able to download it. i got in on the fourth wave. i didn't go on my phone until 2 days after i became a tester though so idk what would of happened if i downloaded before those two days. i downloaded it from play games, but because i had to delete it due to level downloading problems, i was also able to download it from google play store.

well, i got in through the fourth wave. i wasn't on the first 2 days of being tester because i was busy. i downloaded the beta on the third day from google play games normally. i played up to golden wasteland and then had level downloading problems and had to delete the game. it was here where i stumbled upon the problem everyone else was having, just with google play games instead of play store. so because i was panicking, i just followed the instructions in #beta-faq multiple times and then google play store allowed me to download it for some reason. idk, i just got lucky probably.

however if the blocked check the constellation, they will see their blocker in grey and in that sense they would know. Instead of this, a suggestion would be they do see the blocker lit up in the friend constellation but the other person appears offline and the blocked cant interact with them. In this sense, the blocked wont know

It works the same way as live where you have to wait for it to come back in a traveler, you’ll need to farm candles just like live to get it though

Google has to accept every beta version that is released and has to confirm users joining the beta program, due to coronavirus the wait time is longer so just wait I guess. I'm not sure deleting cache and data does anything but I guess keep doing it.

I was curious on iOS beta and I noticed that portrait mode was there and I turned it on and OH BOY it was kinda hard to move. Honestly I know I would get used to it but the normal mode/horizontal mode is just my thing. Personally I like it better than portrait mode.

in my experience giving pointed solutions may be less helpful than simply describing the problems/experiences you have with the current system and how those affect you personally (since that is what the devs are most curious about). players who would be “pros” according to your system don’t necessarily need to be the friendliest either

At the moment the Shepherd badge comes across as something to be achieved, like a trophy. I think it will need to be a voluntary system where players who like guiding other players will be able to identify players who need guidance in the realm of Sky. Both player tpes could opt in such participation and they will be server matched. I have many friends in Live who love guiding "moths" - having this badge would be an honourable recognition of their play style. Players who have other objectives, like participating in every season, collecting all cosmetics, stars, etc. could work towards a different badge. And the 2 are not exclusive of each other.

Ryory: What makes a shepherd a shepherd is friendliness atm. I agree with ennA that your second gauge would be better off as another badge of sorts. There are a few things I find some fault in:

the second gauge defines a part of the game's completion a little too clearly. Sky is supposed to be an intuitive game and all about exploration. There are things that people know they don't know, and then there are things people don't know they don't know. That's the fun of discovery and learning

I don't believe the word "pro" really fits. I think "explorer" would be a little more fitting. To give someone the title of "professional" can lead to elitist feelings or a false sense of superiority when in reality they've only scratched the surface of the game's depth. Not to mention that everyone has a different definition for what a pro player is.
For me: it's a person with 9/10 to 10/10 flight skills. For others it is something different.

The idea to change PRO with EXPLORER is great @minor robin I like it a lot. And yes I focused more in game progress than friendship. 😅 but yea I think is nice to have also something like that. Lot of players and friends like the definition PRO and love to be surrounded by them, like lots of players love the moth. And is nice to have a little heart on the top of the head who can identify also those kind of player. No for bad purpose :)

Season of enchantment is not active, most people already tested out the blocking update and what most people are doing are just early player things like collect spirits, winged lights, doing an eden run. Nothing super exciting

Btw just gonna drop this here, but I think the linking system in beta may be a bit wonky. I was able to link my live account to iOS Game Center with no issues so I could use my new iPad in addition to my phone — but in beta it wouldn‘t work properly. Kept getting stuck linking to the new account made when I opened the beta app for the first time on my iPad.
I had to log into my google account on my phone to link beta progress and play on my iPad. (That did the trick.)
TL;DR: if you can‘t link via one method, try another.

Yes, I would definitely recommend playing Live for a bit, especially if you are completely unfamiliar with Sky, as some of the newer beta members seem to be. 
That way you can compare a little bit how things are working, and you know what is a new feature and what might be a bug.

For me, it’s just the areas that require another player to open door.. the rest I can manage alone.
If the idea is to test beta, then I should go to as many places on map as I can.. do what I do in Live version of app.. having to return to such areas repeatedly just takes a little more time, which is not particularly an issue, just need to wait long enough.

The solution would be to not allow us to move until the cutscene ends. I kinda enjoy moving during cutscenes, whenever possible

If you try to do something while in an active cut scene it can potentially glitch out. I've broken the boat meditation circle in wasteland cuz I tried to avoid the face plant in wasteland by gliding in live

At times, moving during cutscenes stops the cutscene, like when you activate temples, light lamps, etc.

I know if you wait the cut scene end and then light the stone will be fine, but for the people who first time play, they don't know about this, and light button show up before cut scene, it might cause the players don't know is from the race and still try to find

We did the flying race with a moth beta friend over the weekend: we collected both "bow" and "backflip" emotes (the blue lights followed us). However, only "bow" spirit appeared in Arena. I asked my friend to report it as a bug.

I know when I tried to collect both in one run in beta it didn't work and I had to run the race a second time to get the second spirit. I did bug report it at the time

The "backflip" spirit seems to be bugged. I had to do the race twice to collect it (already reported as bug at the time).

I was able to download within 24 hours when I first joined beta on android. I happened to already have the app downloaded with the access wipe and new invites this time around so I could just keep playing. There is a big difference right now from the last android beta invite: the access wipe. So people who were already testers had to rejoin and a LOT of new testers also joined.

In the beta when you hold hands in the race section the third person phases through the gate and the gate is still closed leaving the two people behind the locked gate- we had to not hold hands and sit down to go in all together

i'm not exactly sure what you mean but updating it manually isn't really different from just updating. if you're trying to install the beta, you need to install it and it would just immediately give you the newest update. but if you're trying to just update it and get it to install, that wouldn't really work because you don't have it in the first place. i'm not exactly sure but that's what i think happens, but i can't be sure.

Someone who joins through an apk does not take up a beta slot because they didn’t actually get one through an official invite link. Their game will not work right, they won’t be able to download the rest of the levels, and they will probably be banned. Not to mention the malware that could very well be in those download packages from shady third parties

to spoiler tag a message, put || in front and after the part that needs to be spoilered. to spoiler tag images and videos, put SPOILER_ in front of the name of the video/image.
