Hello! I remember pre ordering sky on the app store (july 2019), and playing it back when valley of triumph was a bunch of steps with some snow. But I never got the cool beta cape, was the time I was playing not the actual beta? Or did the game just glitch out. If so how may I get the cape?

It's very buggy at the moment. From what I've gathered is it works inconsistently and sometimes reveals chat from players you don't have chat unlocked with.

iOS beta is currently full so you'll have to wait until it opens again. You have the Sky Beta Member role so you'll get an @ notification when the link goes live. I don't have an estimated date when iOS beta will open again since it's based on our testing needs which are currently being met.

Beta is to test new features that may (of may not) be implemented into the game. It’s a complete separation app from the live version (so you’re not mingling with the live crowd, when you play.)

It's also important to note that Beta isn't early access, things are often broken and incomplete and we may wipe beta progress periodically so I'd advise not getting too attached to items obtained in Beta if you do join the test group in the future.

Beta and Live versions of Sky are completely separate apps. Progress/purchases in one have no effect on progress/purchases in another.

It's in wasteland graveyard, by the crab bbq, but will disappear upon reset. Please note it also takes like 130+ candles to get all its cosmetics. Travelling spirits also don't regularly show up on beta unless there is something for the devs to test

@sand dawn flight mode was different and it's hard to explain how without showing it. But one thing was that you could flick the screen to begin flight from a standing position, instead of having to use wing power by first rising up. Sometimes it was harder to land precisely, but it may also have been due to different surface programming back then. There are probably a few YT videos up still that show flight in old beta.

@sand dawn I''' try not to write an essay. Ktjn and others have read enough of those from me, especially on this subject. Basically, in the old system when we flew, it was more natural. You would fly just as now in full-flight mode, and to swap to a free fall, you would flick down to change. It meant that instead of having to tap a button that is outside of the world, you are directly manipulating your kid so it was more natural. Flight control was (for me) far more precise, and felt real, joyous and free. Changing back to full-flight required a flap, which is natural, and just as a bird would do. The system we have now is a result of much iteration and modification since the good old days (as I remember them). Now we work with a robot that can fly or glide. And in many places in the game, because the newer flight system didn't work well, or made some things ridiculously hard, the game was augmented with invisible up drafts to make things easier (e.g. the citadel). The 2 most annoying things about the "mode" thing is the button and the need to pull your in-game focus back out to the physical device to interact with the button, and that when you are flying across an area (e.g. the bells, or the caverns under the forest glade), you can try to fly in a straight line above things, but the game looks at the terrain below you and changes the flight mode because it thinks it knows better, which for me is usually not the case. This is mostly, just my opinion. I know there are plenty that are used to the new system, and know no better. My problem is that I've seen what the game can be like, and will probably be forever sorry that is gone. (btw, I guess I did write a text wall. sorry 🤷‍♂️ )
