@/kanpai The Japanese font used in Sky does not even support some of their own characters and some letters used in daily Japanese conversation...yesterday my friend couldn’t read "pepper"😅 I think many Japanese people are still unaware of this bug because they just see a space, not a garbled character

Fonts are tricky beasts and yes they vary in versions and how they are rendered can depend on the tool. Having a single font to fit all languages like simsun on windows or Bitstream-cyberbit means a lot of memory. Using a system font when you can can simplify things.

Ktjn, I just ran eden in beta (sorry real life has been keeping me hoppin’) and the only thing I noticed that was unusual was that I got stuck in a rock in the final area and had a heckuva time getting unstuck. I did take a short video and some screenshots if you think it’s worth reporting. But I’m guessing that’s not what you were looking for in terms of bug finding. I’m running iOS.

which are additional files downloaded after the base game installation. Depending on how much free space your device has, additional levels are only downloaded as you need them, but when we do a new build, all levels must redownload with the latest files.

On the blocked person's end, it appears as if nothing is different.

Yes and no, it's a complex issue so there are many factors contributing to it, which is why it's been such a long running, slippery issue to fix. The tl;dr would be it's a network-related issue, but that doesn't paint the whole picture.

It's hard for us to replicate on our internal test servers because it's impossible to replicate the volume of player activity from the live servers (or beta for that matter) in a test environment/vacuum that causes this.

so we have to go through a trial-and-error process to identify fixes. Even the update we did today to address the disconnects isn't foolproof, but is a step in the right direction.

Spent several hours in the game yesterday to get my 10th star. Did have a bunch of server splits from my friend. Sometimes she appeared again a couple seconds later, other times not. We ended up having to do the end of the flying race separately and the whole ski race separately. :/

Good news is I played with fullscreen the whole time and didn’t get motion sickness. Still feels like it’s radiating a lot of heat tho lol.

The fullscreen shouldn't have any impact on heating or performance, the game runs identically whether the letterbox is present or not, it's a fairly simple UI element.

For example, in a computer, your graphics card has to work just as hard if you're playing on a 27" monitor as it would on a 19" monitor.

high def is going to be more demanding on your GPU. higher framerate is going to be make your CPU work harder, so it's a tradeoff depending on what your overall chipset is

high def is higher resolution which means there are more pixels on the screen, while framerate refers to how quickly your device is refreshing the screen. More frames is usually preferred for sharper mechanics and control, while high def means a cleaner, sharper image. It generally comes down to personal taste and preferences.

So with the switch announcement I was at first crushed because I had really hoped TGC would follow through on the Apple TV promise. Then I remembered my family owns a Switch. Guess I’m going to need a new controller (the switch joy-cons are ridiculously small and poorly designed). I see this as a smart move but it still saddens me given we all know the Mac version is basically there and the Apple TV version would be far easier to get out there.

So will the switch version go through a beta cycle too?

Today's announcement is basically just "Switch is a thing that is happening." We'll have more details in the near future. Our focus is still shipping Android next month.

Now that android version is soon being released, i would rather see tgc focused on adding more content to the game than keep focusing on other platforms. Veterans players need something else to do in the game than just collecting cosmetics tbh.

We're a small team, so please have patience. I realize saying that may seem counterintuitive to the above, but I promise we're working on it.

I know its a small team, thats why instead of expanding to other platform it would be better if keep the focus on the two big platform they have now and work on keeping the base player interested in the game ;p. its good to be ambicious and try to get the game to many people as possible but ive seen in the TGC interviews saying that some players dont even go pass valley. and i think its cuz the lack of features in the game.

Funneling is a very complex thing, we definitely have room for improvement, but those things don't necessarily come at the expense of other things which is a very, very common misconception.

Everyone on the dev team has their roles and responsibilities. Much like you wouldn't ask me, a community manager, to fix artwork in the game, you can't expect an artist to fix an engineering thing, or an engineer to effectively communicate directly with players and so on and so forth. It's a team effort all around.

If you're getting the Item Not Found message, make sure the Google Play app itself is up to date. if it is up to date, try clearing the Google Play cache and restarting your phone by turning it completely off and back on.

If you have multiple Google accounts try toggling between them and make sure you're viewing from the Google Play account that was accepted into the Beta.

If none of the above works, type "google play item not found" into whatever search engine you use and try the troubleshooting steps suggested by numerous sources. If you find something that works, it would be awesome if you could report back to the folks here. It's a known issue for many games in the Play store, not just Sky.

Home rink is great tho, you can so flips and spins if you skate off the snow ramps at top speed and a good angle!

Counterclockwise is my fav direction in home rink. Tgc's skate/slide mechanics are super fun
