@muted quest I feel there's a chance the raven cape is bugged bc if you wear it in the bright daylight and look at the back, you can actually see the underlying fabric, which is probably not supposed to be visible and how some of the feathers are missing there, there's a high chance it's a bug

But I think there are mechanics that TGC should standardize instead of creating other things that end up worsening the quality of the player's gameplay,for example, The system we received during the Sky Olympics should already be standardized in which we could get a large number of tickets in a single day with a weekly limit,It was a good idea, it greatly improved the player's quality of life in events but TGC did not implement it in other events

Rather than "standardise" isn't this more just a case of experimenting to see how to change it up for gameplay since picking up EC is repetitive

I don't really think being able to mass collect early was much fun because the races were very time consuming tbh

Obtaining tickets cannot be part of the fun of the event, when too much time is spent obtaining tickets the player ends up missing out on other aspects of the event,I understand that you should try new things, but these "new things" have to be in relation to the event, because tickets are like game currency, so this has to be standard or as I said, the same as the Olympics event that maintained the standard of tickets but there was an improvement in relation to FOMO as it didn't make the player have to participate every day and gave the It gave you the opportunity to get the items even if you didn't play one day.

Okay looks like there's a weird graphic issue & inconsistency on the raven cape among players, bc I looked from a friend and saw that some of the feathers are missing on the back side but not the others, but when I looked at cy's potato log, it seems to be fine, just trimmed, nothing missing on the back

I kinda disagree on the "obtaining tickets cannot be part of the fun of the event", bc it can be part of the fun, for example, in sunlight, we can do a music jam with the spirits for a ticket, it's more so an incentive to try an activity for a reward. And guess what personally I end up enjoying doing the music jam activity. If it isn't bc of tickets, I wouldn't have been encouraged to try the activity at all

While i agree that the tournament’s way of obtaining the EC was really good and should be used more, the races did get a bit boring at the end of the event. TGC is definitely trying to experiment new ways to obtain EC and for mischief when you get the hang of it, its actually quite entertaining. And when we get rewarded for doing a fun thing, wouldn’t you do more of it? Thats why i left a feedback earlier saying that maybe they could use the tournament way of handling EC with the and Nat minigames, like when you managed to get a or finished Nat’s activity we immediately get tickets. So we’re still incentivized to play the minigames to get EC while playing on our own pace with a weekly EC limit

or like still do a daily 5 ticket limit or whatever but the worms and nat immediately gives out tickets rather than us slowly following them to get the wax

I believe I've shared my thoughts about it already there but this is just something I believe people who have school or a job won't always have time for on top of the daily grind as it is now. I hope it changes back to just the tickets themselves because as it is now it's just fixing something that's not broken.

I get the feeling it won't change back to solid tickets at least for mischief this year but live will probably have a bigger impact on EC wax in general after style and mischief combined, there'll be a lot more opinions out there and it'll especially be easier for people to decide if they enjoy it after playing it in the intended state since currently it still seems buggy and there's definitely room for improvement

I just don't see a complete removal of it in this scenario and it's understandable if they'd like to get a wider audience reflection

I don't know why ec wax was considered personally I didn't see problems with the general collection of the majority of tickets, there's obviously been times where I've felt the implementation was not so good, but lately things were fairly consistent up until the big shuffle for tournament and then style introduced the EC wax seemingly out of nowhere, but I guess maybe there's been feedback for change

I also think whilst trying to settle on a ticket system that works I wish they could review how the system is just a bandaid for event prices because when items return we've witnessed the disproportionate pricing and the current system doesn't seem beneficial in the long-term unless you're able to play every event each year thoroughly

I quite like looking around the map for them daily and especially how beyond the effort of searching, there isn't an insane thing you have to do to get them all. With candle running already being a task and a half, it's nice to just go to an area and earn points for an item more easily

When I think back on tickets my frustrations were always very specific like if they were put in hard to grab places, if they were linked to a timed event, but in general the whole hunt for tickets, grab em fast, nyoom to enjoy the rest of my time in the area as well as elsewhere doing dailies and such was just a well-rounded experience imo

I will say though the wax makes more sense with Nat because it's almost like lil witchy puffs coming from the broom

but I don't like following the worms they jumpscare you at the end, if you get caught by another worm you get plonked down and lose momentum, and I just don't vibe with it the same way

but then I also don't like things like turtle wax, following a thing to get limited timed wax is just not a fun time for me

You know what else is just sad, they replaced cauldron wax with candles dotted about the area, significantly less fun to collect and I can't explain why cause the candles that are there already from past years are like yummy stonks but losing cauldron wax to the ec system and then it being supplemented by some extra singular candles dotted around is just very where the joy go

i said it in the survey about the sky Olympics event and i'll say it here too. what made that event so enjoyable to me was that you could earn as many tickets as you wanted (to an extent) and put your device down feeling satisfied that you've actually earned something. Suddenly, playing all those games made the game feel like an ACTUAL video game I do for fun, rather than a daily chore. Admittedly my excitement lessened as I started to notice my hard work wasn't reflected in the team scores (sobs in team prairie) but the point still stands that the minigames and immediate reward made the game feel fun and rewarding, compared to how horrible it feels to do my daily grind of sanctuary-grandma-sanctuary. Going to these places doesn't feel fun. because it takes so much effort to be able to earn ANYTHING. The olympics were fun because there was stuff to DO and the currency/items were easy to obtain

That's interesting! I didn't consider the instant gratification of a reward after each race, I personally found the tournament system confusing and although it was nice to grab an item sooner if I grinded for it, I found it to be exactly that - a grind

Whereas with things like geyser and grandma I find the more casual aspect of them a bit more fun, although I haven't been to them religiously for some time, I used to visit every day at least once each when I first started playing but now I just run casually and if I happen to be there when they're on it's a nice suprise

I have some opinions about the crow cape I wanted to share, but just a disclaimer I guess, this is meant to be constructive criticism and from what I've seen may be an unpopular opinion regarding the cape.

The crow cape is rather chaotic and messy, I know it's supposed to be spooky but crows, ravens and corvids in general are usually very well kept, they are spooky because they are intelligent and smooth like a shadow. At the moment the feathers arrangement looks messy, it's not as bad when the player is standing but the cape failed to feel like wings when in flight. The solution is likely to arrange the feathers orderly and highlight the regular features of a bird's wings and tail.

Many of you liken the cape to howls moving Castle and the like but even with those examples it's easy to understand the shape of the crows wings which is still a problem for me with he current design of the cosmetic.

To me it looks like it's meant to be just a mantle with feathers attached to it, like those fantasy medieval cloaks and I think tgc is trying to evoke the feeling instead of straight up a crow cape

I'm guessing it's tail, it's clearly there but it has feathers on top of it, not at all like how a bird's rail is usually structured. And you can clearly see an odd Shaping to the base of the cape which seems to be trying to be a bird's wings as opposed to a cloak or cape

It seems to be based on the blue passage cape bug that people liked and moves in a similar way to the passage cape. But the way it moves makes the feathers have trouble making a clean shape when flying

It sucks if they wanted to try addressing the complaints that picking it up was unnecessary and troublesome but somehow makes it worse lol :/ it's just fine as it was...can't make everyone happy with what already existed, the ticket system as of Sunlight and Moonlight were simply perfect

It's also a bit confusing, I like to test things a little bit before looking at the update notes(always check known issues for anything that could go wrong) to see how a player would understand the new content and with the wax I was confused. Coloured wax is already a thing so seeing it made me think it was just some fun colours for the event. And because the currency isn't linked to a very visible and noticeable object it is hard to understand where to get the tickets from which causes unnecessary stress, players should be able to infer easily how to progress further(unless the goal is to solve a puzzle or the like but even then) they shouldn't need to uses the internet oroutside program to figure out what to do

This is something I find interesting cause I think tgc are very into designing things that look creature and animal but are clearly you know not meant to be you know a skinned animal, but some players are very much into items that make them look very creature very animal you know? like cat hair is clearly a hairstyle, but players want ears also gestures at moomin ears and some players wanting no headband

I think for the most part it would be more obvious that items are literally just for cosmetic value and they don't imply anything with ill-intent irl but there's even been other small changes like the snow kid bucket being changed from plastic looking red bucket to stone bucket to fit more with the sky aesthetic and because plastics harmful and not really found in sky (apart from like obvious events like nature where things like plastics in oceans are explicitly addressed through the charity link)

but I still wish I could be a very realistic raven kid with raven snoot and silly lil raven feets

Well, the sparrow cape is quite bird-like while still not looking like it was sourced from a real bird. That’s closer to what I was expecting the raven cape to look like (maybe just having sharper edges or smth)

There is, but it's a lot bigger of a delay for the wax; you have to trail several feet behind them or else you'll end up not collecting anything - unlike the turtle, where you can swim directly behind it and not miss anything.

Perhaps the picking up button could be done like the buttons used to collect and offer winged light, where you tap it once and move on. Or if we go a step further using the same mechanics race winged lights have occasionally in specific areas for events (such as a race). That way if you can collect it fast and still have the ability to step near it and take a photo as well as be able to understand what the currency is and differentiate it from other currencies

The reason seasonal wax works is because it comes from distinct candles so the only other way to make it easier is to make a new candle type for events which might get a bit boring and stale considering it's the same as everything else

Just wanted to share my opinions on the ticket wax system I haven't been able to test the recent version due to irl stuffs but in the version beforehand trying to get 1 ticket from the dark entities was really difficult, I don't have much winged light in beta since I don't take it as seriously as live and trying to keep up with the wax was hard and controlling flight around to collect the wax was difficult as I couldn't keep myself up easily even with the help of the clouds and the minor recharge from the wax itself

Also walking away with 1 ticket or 2.5 is a let down, for the amount of effort needed to put in to get the wax it feels like you leave with nothing to show for it, and with the extra bit of wax you get that doesn't make a full ticket gives the illusion that you haven't finished. It almost feels like it takes more time to collect the event wax then to collect the tickets the old way. Not to mention that event wax just looks like coloured regular wax which has been a thing in the past which makes it confusing if you wanted to collect tickets and not candles and can't find the tickets anywhere. Not to mention the wax is also quite stale in concept as both regular and seasonal candles use a wax system which made event tickets feel a bit more special, it's not a candle Afterall so why should it have the same mechanics as a candle?

Anyway tangent over, I don't mean any negativity and sorry for the wall of text

@hollow pollen this year's mischief tickets are in the form of wax. There's three ways to get them in the current phase.

1. wait at the cauldron (giant cooking pot) to boil and spew it.
2. use any of the three cannons outside to shoot for them to drop the wax trail.
3. talk to the witch hat NPC for the broom ride practice and they also leave a trail of wax while riding on a broom after they leave the cave.
   Or buy the tickets at the spell shop/boat if you don't want to wait.

like if you look at the back view of raven cape, the silhouette is the most bird-like and they really fluffed out the tail shape so it's more distinct my diagram feedback worked

Replying here for #beta-season-test-chat message but I didn't think the wing in isle was an additional one? If people have been able to collect an extra wing on account of the switcheroo then I'd assume that's also part of the bug of eternal wing light indication on map

You normally wouldn't have a chance to have all 6 Isle wings unless you specifically started a new account with the intent of proving it, which is why most people see the Isle situation as a bug rather than the way I see it.

To describe how you can try it for yourself: start a new account, and then go and collect all 5 visible Isle wings on your first time through the game, while also activating all the map shrines -- you'll see the shrine showing at least one wing missing.

Proceed through the rest of the game until you open the Valley portal, ensuring you don't lose any wings along the way (also helps if you don't collect any other wings). The Isle portal will now let you return at this point, which is when you should be able to go back and find a wing on top of the boat at the start -- pick that up, confirm that you now have +1 additional wing, and check the map shrine -- you should now see there are no more missing wings in Isle.

What that test is supposed to prove is that those are two separate wings, rather than the same wing that moves to a different spot. If you think of them as two different wings (and that Isle actually has 6 wings in total available to pick up, but only up to 5 are ever visible at any one point), you will always be missing one of the wings, which is why the map shrine always shows a missing wing unless you deliberately go out of your way to hold all 6 at once.

Edit: slipping with a plushie is still possible, but you need to unjam the emote first by letting the end part of the loop fully play out while you're in the air before trying to do it while skipping on the ground. Still wanting the ability to slip without needing a plushie though.

forging 21 candles a day with the current system is already extremely tiring, hours and hours of candle runs to forge a measly 21 candles a day.

As if that wasn't enough, now the ticket system follows the same pattern as normal candles, spending hours collecting wax to forge 1 ticket, TGC? thus the ticket system dies definitively. Players will spend their candles to buy tickets and save themselves the stress of having to collect waxes to forge tickets.

I have felt this since the introduction of the ticket system.

The reality is the ticket system is less about strain on candles and more designed to make people engage with events. For style people got all the tickets in under one min and hardly interacted thats why i believe they added this particular system for that event.

Mischief was a nuisance to find the tickets when there was festival tech last year so maybe they think EC light is easier for people to find? or maybe they just want people to spend more time in the area. I don't have exact answers as i am not TGC.

I made my peace with buying tickets, but I agree its a frustrating thing to have to grind another currency especially with the amount of events we get.

I personally liked the current system of picking up physical tickets. I didn't see what was wrong with that but I suppose some people didn't like it and now we're here to event light. Something that, now I don't like because it's too time consuming in my opinion. I think people who have a limit on their time will just feel too pressured to do this system and then feel even more pressure to buy candle packs if they can't afford to run for the necessary amount of candles each day.

Small request: if someone has an un-ascended Memory Whisperer in Beta, could possibly provide a picture to see if the white cape as a blue inside? Or at least not pure white like it is in Live
Since with the new model, there's now a golden inside so I thought it's because ascending spirits change cosmetics' colors #beta-screenshots-videos message

I'm a bit more ehh about spirits having closed eyes, I liked it better when they have diamond eyes unlike skykids, it helped hammering the fact that ancestors and descendants are a bit different
Oh well, maybe they really did copy-pasted skykid model to make it easier to animate

One neat thing I noticed though is the fact that spirits with cape don't seem to have those strange shoulder pads/chestplates

Same here, I always thought they were very charming! I can understand the change (and heard that some folks don't like 'em) but I prefer how much more personality it gives them, compared to the blank sleepy face

I'm personally not a fan of the changes done not to the eyes, but to the head shapes
I don't think it makes sense for the adult characters to have the same face structure as the children we play as

Logically that also doesn't make sense, yeah. Because the adult head is typically larger than a children's head. It just doesn't make sense.

i sent in my own feedback on this highlighting these points already, but not only does it really make them look younger, i find that it also makes more of a same-face-syndrome problem than what already existed. the spirits were unique with their faces in a way, even with generic models, why take that uniqueness away and make them look the same as skykids? the rest of the updates to the models are fine to me, but the faces are not

I like the old spirits better too, now they look like another sky kid when they’re supposed to be older and different from us, I think the closed eyes are the disturbing part

I see what you mean by that, yeah. Their shoes are more physical instead of seemingly painted on.

The body changes have been perfectly fine, honestly. It really is just the heads and faces that are the problem more multiple reasons, as we have discussed

on the topic of the same face syndrome, I find it interesting that tgc had tried to make unique face features during the early 9cd testing phase, they had the opened eyes but not the diamond shapes like those basegame spirits. But apparently they to be found to be unnerving, so they changed it to the closed eyes, like the skykids. It seems that 9cd spirits used the same face model as skykids but they don't look babyfied at all to me.

So there was an attempt xD

I think tgc probably wanted to make the basegame spirits more consistent with the other spirits (like seasonals) especially we don't see diamond eyes on the other spirits

Wish they could've kept the unique face shape for the 9cd spirits, like giving a diversity of the ancestor spirits out there
