yeah banter is good but takes up room on a server. I used to want larger servers with more than 8 people like WoW but i realized it worked in WoW cuz the worlds were soooOoOOo big. Sky is a bit smaller so maybe it would just get overwhelming

I never said Cellist wasn't a spirit but just seeing their story unfold with almost no help from any spirits part of their buildup to fame, it just doesn't feel like mannequins themselves don't do it justice. The least they could do is have the spirits wearing their outfits that helped them in their journey to fame. That's not to say though that we didn't see spirits in the Cellist's memory.

Basically like you have an agreement with an IP, you're only allowed to take the direct IP content into your own content for a mutually agreed amount of time and product. You know like contracts and whatnot. If you continue use the IP beyond the season they would have to pay to gain / extend license

well it's like usually when you write up these kinds of contracts you allow the third party (in this case, tgc) to use your IP for a limited period of time for X money (idk how collaboration resource allocation for funds goes but just go with this)
and there's a set profit margin and percentage that gets sent to the collaborator

so if it continues to exist in sky after the time period, it's a breach of contract and TGC would technically be continuing to profit off the existence of the separate IP in the game, which the original IP holder probably doesn't want to have happen

Yeah. I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I feel like if those same spirits who helped them wore their outfits it might show us their progression to fame. Lifeless (or sometimes in this case possessed) mannequins are just things that don't really serve any story purpose other than to show the names of what you're buying. Interactive spirits is what makes me feel tied into the story. So if I saw a spirit I'm buying things from, I'd feel like I'm helping them.

also judging from the story of Ninny the season is going to be based on, the featured characters play big roles together so it would make sense for some of the characters to be spirits in order to be able to interact with skykids in some ways

Well it works now for me, but I'm still not sure about the process for rekindling - stumbling into them randomly seems like a lot of work to rekindle a friendship, but then having a list of unfriended players would just be bothersome for those who don't like blocked players being in a list

I also think we should have a way to unfriend a blocked player that doesn't involve unblocking and then hunting for them in cons since not all blocked players are those who have done anything wrong, we've been using blocking to "unfriend" for 5 years so it would be nice to have a smoother transition for them? I suggested in feedback if we get a pop up that clarifies "are you sure you'd like to unfriend this player? This will automatically unblock them."

• the gradual updates, I am so grateful they're trying this out because I really do get overwhelmed sometimes when we're hit with lots of stuff all in one update so the prospect of having things more gradual makes me happy!
• nest load point, this is just really WOW, because they're already accomodating us by keeping homespace alongside aviary, but the fact they're testing out nest too is wonderful, I know a lot of people who have asked for that option so it's really nice to see feedback has come around to testing!
• similar to the above, the nest balcony, again this has been in feedback ever since we tested nesting way back when so I'm thrilled to see that we're getting an expansion like that, excited to see how it all develops

I have a question about the unfriending feature. i've left my feedback on it, but the patch notes didn't specify whether the unfriend-ed person will be notified in any way that they've been unfriended? (I personally think it's important; it's only fair to them, and the person who unfriended them will just be taking up space in their constellation without the unfriended person ever knowing)

I have heard they aren’t notified and you remain on their constellation but they can’t jump to you or anything like that. I guess if they don’t have you favorited you will eventually disappear. I would think if you are on their favorites and you aren’t lighting them they might figure it out anyway?

why not simply block toxic people? you wouldn't want to rekindle their tree anyway.
there are so many ways to use this feature and i feel a big one is actually to declutter friendship constellations that have been built up for years.

it won't be obvious, because you could just be AWOL. i have friends from 2020 that i'm not sure if they'll come back online or if they blocked me because i was offline for a while. it sucks.
i wanna know if i've been removed/blocked. doing it behind someone's back is unfair.

I know for a fact that blocking someone is not as anonymous as we might want it to be. If I block someone they can still see me change clothes (not sure about deleting tho) and if I block someone they can still see all my messages

A lot of my friends from 2020 have quit beta so it’s actually refreshing cleaning the constellation. My blocked list was filled with hackers names so that was fun deleting them

then they should definitely change that. blocking should be way more drastic than unfriending. every social platform works that way.

besides, right now i cannot see all of my friends anyways because there's too many than there's space. that's why i'm advocating for transparency - not to hold it over someone's head; quite the contrary:

Some people may still have connections to other friends of the person who blocked or unfriended, it could stir more trouble than necessary

That's one of the main reason blocking exist in any kind of game and they don't get notified

sky isn't a full-on "cozy" community, there's toxic people around you, and being notified about that just makes things really, really worse. Drama for example. you just wouldn't get it if you don't try to see somebody else's pov

has anyone tested rekinding? patch notes say that "you meet someone you unfriended, both of you have the option of rekindling your friendship" do both players have the option to rekindle when they light up the "stranger"
would beat the purpose if a player youve unfriended just rekindles the friendship back

I hear what you are saying phyl but I personally would rather the other person not know anything I am doing if I am at the point of blocking or unfriending. If someone unfriends me or blocks me, so be it. I would assume there was a reason. Most likely it wouldn’t be someone on my favorites (ahh) so they would quietly disappear into space in another galaxy somewhere
