I said this before but the TS choice is more that it revolves around group decision making when working on projects (which the event is centered around shared spaces so it makes sense)

• commodore emote is to indicate two sides (can be interpreted as wanting to place things on either side, or calming down arguments)
• stagehand is handshake to agree on choices
• indifferent is just plain confusion on what’s going on
• nodding is to agree

it’s really weird to me that they changed the elder masks to mask accessories in order to make people able to pair different masks with them… when that just makes it so that then you can’t pair mask accessories with them. either way you’re still locked out of pairing an entire category of cosmetics with them, and imo mask accessories would be a way better category to use with them… it seems like most people who use the elder masks just wear them with maskless mask to look as close as possible to their original look anyway

if you're right on the edge of the side closer to the water, you dive

Today, I still only found 4 ECs. After entering the map, where the river enters the clouds, there is an EC on the right side of the river, an EC on the underwater stone next to here, and another EC that appears after interacting with the guide. On the beach next to the guide, there is a stone measuring the water level, with an EC on it. I haven’t found the fifth EC yet.

You are a moth when you join so you only get what they are currently testing. There are traveling spirits and usually old in-app purchase items for events return too so you can sometimes get older items from that.

There is a group of returning spirits in beta for the moment, yes! However neither the prices, nor the TS, nor the visit is confirmed to be in the Live game.

At the moment, it’s a mix of some Enchantment spirits, a performance and abyss spirit.

beta isn't about a fully functional, none-buggy experience it's about bug reporting and testing new content, the functional experience comes in live so it's really not an issue to get spirits doing funky walking in beta as long as they're fixed by live

I don’t know the pretense of this convo but I will put in, all games and I mean all games will have bugs and things that break, coding is hard and especially when it happens once during a specific moment and needs a couple of steps to replicate it, they’re hard to catch. And any dev will acknowledge the bug and try their best to address it but beta is in fact used as a way for real life people to capture any bugs that may have been missed or not even thought of by the team as a whole, because some bugs are sneaky and a hard to find. The dev team is also human and humans make mistakes but all we can do is report the bugs and wait for them to be acknowledged and fixed by the team :))

insert caveat of android fragmentation there are so many different devices that can run sky that the dev team may not have various models of phones of varying lifespans to test on that public beta can help a lot more with

best example of that is the pc demo which had been extended since it was released for the public to test and feedback on, they were able to get more data than beta alone

honestly the communication now is far better than what it used to be prior to cat hair riot of 2022 so I’m just happy we’re still here XD

not all the bugs can be addressed because the community devs that talk in here (mostly sago or tethys sometimes) simply do not have the full scope of information by the game engineers to be able to communicate on a more specific level and that’s how it is

I think like Sof said it is frustrating when bugs make it into the live game, but for beta at least most of the time it's chaotic and amusing and we just do our best to report the things in the hopes they can be fixed before releasing to live - in the case of the spirits I shared a video of, it's highly likely they'll be fixed but it's funny to see them act like that for the moment

Also, I mean communication about long-lasting issues as well. Bug-reports, and which ones have been seen and are currently being resolved. It’s demoralizing knowing of issues that have existed/reported for over a year, but we don’t know their significance or place in the team’s plans.

like you have to discuss it knowing that devs are bound by NDA so we wouldn’t be privy to their entire pipeline in detail to begin with, but there is a rough understanding of how game dev pipeline can work

from my understanding participating in beta the last two years, what gets to beta is near the end post production process and there’s deadlines they have to meet
as sago said earlier, things like items clipping just took priority over stuff like DoC pants skin tone because boy howdy there’s a bajillion comments the devs get about clipping

The point Mony addressed resonates with me too: as a tester, there’s a lot of time and effort to invest in the game and when I’m trying to report all the bugs I come across, it can be unfortunate to see bugs I reported get shipped into Live, or see them last for months on end. This is frustrating at times.

This is ultimately something we have no control over, but I can personally attest that the devs genuinely read all feedback and bug reports and this last patch made me, at least, feel really heard

I definitely agree, when you see bugs slip into live, especially ones that break part of the game like those in the season launch it's disheartening, I feel sorry for both players and devs because I know that whilst we are frustrated we can't do xyz until the bugs get resolved, the devs are bound to feel disappointed when things don't go smoothly for us.

eden, ascent and orbit are important story beats to me, so having them soiled for so long has affected me negatively. I waited over 8 months to introduce friends to the game hoping the numerous reports across all platforms affecting the climax of the game would be enough to put it in high priority. but when it never got fixed, I got them to play anyways.

and then we got eden spectator purgatory on our first playthrough and I felt nothing inside my soul.

they were very soured with the game as well afterwards. all except one quit playing

If that's the weird bug that traps you just after you complete eden then I think that might just be a tricky thing to resolve, I've noticed it isn't particularly consistent, sometimes I can run eden and not experience it and other times I get trapped there - in fact just the other week in beta I got it and it was a slightly different version of the bug than I'd experienced previously

It really is unfortunate that it happens, especially for new players because it really can ruin the immersion within the story, but I don't imagine devs are ignoring it and I'm sure they've appreciated your bug reports!

Yes, it is the bug that puts you and all other players in your PNR server far above the map for some time, then sends you back down to the ground, most likely because the game perceives there to still be an alive player in your instance when there is not.

I didn't have a good first experience with that new Eden update but that was due to my low winged light count the first time I went in there. My friend on the other hand said she could walk much farther than before. I'll be sure to grab as many winged light as I can before making my second venture into the new Eden. Of course, maybe more raining shards will make it harder to navigate with lower counts but I think that's the incentive here, to gather as many winged light as you possibly can.

I however welcome this new change, because I made this suggestion I believe around Shattering and I'm finally proud to see something I suggested a while back actually get implemented. I just felt that crawling with as many as 180+ or more winged lights felt weird and clunky because you still should have a lot of strength left to take on those shards. They may look like they really hurt though if I were in that position.

I don't know how to do the flying shortcuts, so I can't tell you that. But I can tell you that the wind is very, very slightly more powerful in the climb to the corridor to the point of no return. I was moth height in beta and felt it was just a tiny bit stronger than before. But it's still easy to climb.

My biggest pet peeve with eden will always be how you can be standing behind a wall/rock and still get whacked through it because it happens even as chibi, I can't imagine how annoying it is for taller heights

I will say the latest changes to eden are fine in terms of we can move faster, but the slow-mo knock downs that happen are excessive and unnecessary, like just knock me over and let me get back up, the length of time it takes to get back up usually results in getting smacked back down again

Bruh fr my biggest gripe with this new Eden is that my skid kept getting knocked down, did the slow motion of standing back up, knocked down, stand back up, knocked down, stand up, knocked down....all the while the SHING! right image looks so much nicer… the goggles are an indispensable tool for seeing just how harsh the bloom filter is underwater.
i’ve always wondered why bloom and similar filters are cranked so high underwater. it doesn’t necessarily communicate the phenomenon of light penetrating water or proper bioluminescence (since it makes everything glow instead of just organisms). i first guessed it was a shortcut to make the environment more visible, but the details already pop fine enough without the filters as seen on the second image.

I think lilypad since it has one of the most unique models out of all the umbrellas. To me it's so different it could be an ult if it wasn't an iap. Fortune is pretty, but to me looks too similar to the Lightseekers free umbrella. I always thought of it as an upgraded recolor despite owning it lol.

Lilypad umbrella is extremely refreshing with regards to past umbrellas and beautiful to look at. It has great movement too as well. I hope it stays the same price as the other umbrella iaps but we don't know til it hits live.

More appropriate for #beta-season-test-chat since it's about the Season, but if you bought the Nine-Colored Deer antlers IAP before the item was split into the horns + mask, then the mask has become a "null" item for you, meaning it's essentially gone forever for that account Lots of beta testers inevitably end up owning at least 1 null item because of beta being beta, at least, so you're not alone

Legally they can change what they want because they have clauses on all IAP, you can check terms and conditions on their website for this. But it isn't fun to see things we enjoy changing, it doesn't look particularly professional the more it happens either, but all we can do is feedback. I'd have rather known the item was bugged in the first instance, so lack of communication is my main concern at this point.

No, it's the way shoes make skykid float slightly from the ground, and then take time to pop into the place and reach ground after you're done walking. Moving when you wear shoes just feels worse

The top left is such a pain because if you walk past some wax, the candle icon shows and you have to wait for the animation to finish before it disappears and then you can tap the top left. Hello there! Your fellow Eden enthusiast is back from the depths of Eden with some information on the adjustments.

• If you get hit when moving your avatar will actually flinch and may limit your movement slightly.

• I used a trick if you fellow Breath of the Wild users may know as whistle sprinting while extinguished in Eden and it actually works until you hit 10 winged light then you start crawling. (Basically I just spammed whistle while moving.)

• The wind and when you get damaged while moving can cause you to be pushed in a random direction sometimes.

That's all I found on this Eden run for now. If you find something I haven't listed here please let me know and I'll credit you!

Are there less jellies in this test compared to last time or can we just see less distance? I'm only really seeing jellies on the monolith and the occasional jelly floating along the river but last time I could see more jellies further across the map
