I just wanna say here (coz I can't say in live channel as it will be spoiler there), I feel bad for people running into eden these 2 days. They will be doing eden again maybe tomorrow or day after tomorrow when the 4th quest is released.

it is annoying for people who run after sunday reset (me) because then it's like well now going up there again doesn't give any rewards, but I can just hold out until the quest

i’m glad i am in beta and know omg… some people really don’t mind doing eden runs but i am so impatient its like torture lol. i really do avoid it at all costs… so i feel for people who are like that also and might be doing eden around now and then find out they have to go again

Yeah! They can stall it to their next eden run (but speaking from my personal experience, I have never been able to stall new quests even if I wanted to stall )

Exactly! I do feel for them coz I myself would have been frustrated, but you can say it's just me seeing things from my perspective. As cy says, people can actually postpone it to their next eden run.

i sometimes wish i could skip all the cutscenes in eden or have like a speed run version… if i wasnt forced to watch all of them every time i ran through eden, i know i would appreciate them more when i did see them. because they really are all so beautiful!! but when i have no choice, i just get annoyed thinking “ugh this takes soooo looongggg” djdhsjfj

Although I am excited to do eden when the quest comes out coz I am currently nearing the completion of 2 of my constellations (I had never completed my constellations before and going to eden to get 2 completion rewards just feels thrilling!!)

all the cutscenes everywhere honestly… 😭 eden is the worst to me because it has the most of them. so i only play eden every ~6 months or so in live version now, thankfully i’ve finished all the base game constellations so i don’t need eden candles for much

i am so thankful for shard events now as an alternate source of eden candles, i would way rather do those. i really like them most of the time

there are....eden shortcuts especially in path to orbit
when you appear before the gate, fly into the window grate to the left of before you start the sliding portion, that will let you skip the entire part afterward and go straight to the top
like this is the area right after you hug your WL

Just I feedback about the firework tech because, they make the fireworks clicking delay much more. You know, the one fireworks with those sticks and when you click it, it will have fireworks?
It's nice that they put it far away on the middle, but they make it delay that they put it closely to the cutscenes and they will never be used again

However, keep in mind these things just happen in beta. If the IAPs were removed, then that’s unfortunate but it’s beta. I think there should be a spell available, but if there’s not: #beta-feedback!

Beta isn’t for collecting cosmetics, that can be frustrating at times but there’s enough in the update to test too! In any case, check if you’re on the latest build

Quest 4 requires you to do Eden and after that, the Aviary turns way more lively! I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it’s worth it

Elder masks will come when I've gotten together at least 500 ascended candles. Which is never, because I don't really go to shard events or Eden anymore after getting the first 3. But honestly... I need motivation. So I would really like if they were coming soon.

I hope that they come up with some other way to get the new elder masks if they're ever a thing... I know they're supposed to be something for experienced players and etc but no item should take months of endless grinding and doing the same things to get...

(Also they're pretty useless imo, by the time someone gets any of the elder masks they already know the game map front to back so getting protection against krills and crabs that you already know how to avoid is definitely not ideal )

Hey so anyone else who has final quest, is there a way to end the season or what? I watched the fireworks to the guide with the staff scene and then they all just disappeared back to their default positions but the empty fireworks were still near the avairy home till I entered a realm and home again.
There wasn't really any final cutscene to really say it ended, I'm just left confused lol

there are lots of places like that throughout all of sky and some have been used and some are still just sort of empty dead ends, so… i guess we’ll see…?

similar issues occur to some new players in beta too. when they try to complete the realms but don't finish eden, they usually get at least 3 realms: Vault, Wasteland, and Triumph disappear. They solve it by manually traversing through vault again and finishing eden afterwards to get all the realms open

For example, i used my google account which is linked to my global/live account, and i link it to my beta account

that said, avoid using facebook, it's known to freak out

As a rule of thumb, beta is testing one season at a time. Events are rolled out all at once, meaning they don’t just test one part of the event and not another. You don’t see just cosmetics, there should also be changes at home, in the office, and in realms

I've noticed the change, but I'm not too concerned about it.

   It's not a bad idea that Skykids have feedback when liking a player creation. But I'd prefer it to be a heart particle that floats on top rather than a CHEER action.
   Because sometimes CHEER isn't appropriate. For example, if there's a social spell that helped me, I might prefer to use the "gratitude" action instead. Or I might not want to do a "cheer" action in the first place, because I'm in a bad mood.

I'm worried that they'll use a stricter filter on commants, but that is not going to work.
A filter is not a chatbot, and it cannot understand some jokes/trolls/puns/etc. Thus some abusive words can still be seen. I highly suggest reading the #beta-faq very thoroughly and backreading #beta-announcements (or at least from the 0.23.0 patch on, so you’re kind of up to date!).

TS have the same schedule as in live, but we’re just 8 TS behind on live.

At the moment we are testing the second half of Season of Revival, we’re in a cozy winter wonderland with lots to test and try out.

I think having old home removed would be a horrible idea, they’ve never removed an area from live before.

Also, why not just do homeless CR? It’s much more efficient imo. You can even do elder temple skips to make sure you don’t have to rejoin.

Every temple besides Vault can be skipped, so if you want a complete full CR, it’s much more efficient just to do all the elder skips

Traveling spirits are still returning in beta, though I will note that they currently appear in aviary only and do not show up in homespace. Whether this is a bug or intended I'm not entirely sure, but TS have not gone away in beta.

New players in Live will be born in Isle, and can access the season when they reach Forest. New players in beta land in the aviary, and have to do the first 3 quests (and start the 4th) before they can access isle. Around this time, the home meditation circle also appears

In v0.23.5, switching home will be possible after entering the forest during the fourth quest. So that may be possible after the patch is published.
In the current live version, the moth intro is still home and it is also home that comes back in the fourth quest.

If you received a server error notification when interacting with social spells (memory candles, boats,..): restart your game or click “cancel” and make sure to bug report it!

If you received a server error message when logging in:

• don’t use “Local Account”, but use the gmail / Nintendo / iCloud / Gamecenter method instead.
• Clear your cache (step-by-step guide on clearing cache for Android: #beta-faq message)
• log out & in of Gamecenter if you’re on iOS and re-install the app

If we transfer the iOS rankings to Steam, it would be overwhelmingly positive

Also keep in mind Steam has a sort of selection bias. People who play Sky on IPhone are likely to have lower end devices that don’t run Sky well, but the Steam players are likely to have higher-end computers.

And keep in mind most of the ios reviews were written in the past, when Sky was a worse game with less content

A quick aside before I slink away into the ether/obey my cat who's been demanding treats:

The big spread out Aviary realm portals actually prompted a fair amount of discussion, and posed some design challenges. They look cool, yes, but they were also very spread out. And a lot of folks were sending feedback about how they didn't like having to walk a lot farther in Aviary to do basic things vs. they had to in Home.

Aviary isn't meant to be a tiny little island like Home, so a lot of thought has been put into how to make the area both cool and convenient. That led to things like adding the friend constellation at the village entrance, and the closets in the area near the gates. It's also why the gates kept the more compact design they've had since the game's launch—less trekking from point to point (which also probably helps moths out too).

I get this might not make 100% of people happy. But it is an example of how something that looks cool can end up having other practical consequences, and sometimes function has to come before form
