I can confirm this as well as it was EXTREMELY bad in aviary shop. I'll bug report it once my phone cools down and I can get a recording, but for those who are epileptic/sensitive to flashing lights and are on android, I heavily advise against playing beta on the current update. It's really bad. I'm not sensitive to flashing lights and it's bothering me a lot /srs

At first I was a bit shocked they changed the entrance to my favourite place in game, but it makes a lot more sense this way, it's like another repository in vault for collab archives and that's nice I don't know that we need so many ways to enter to valley at this point, but it's a nice area to have teleport spots for collabs and there's plenty space for many opportunities!

I also like that when we med to tlp it takes us to the tunnel entrance as usual

The race only works if you meditate alone. After a little bit it will work for you, and the next person

When you load into the game, there'll be a stone platform to the left with a sitdown indicator that'll take you back. Once in homespace, the white candle to make it your default home is located next to the pants closet ^^

Hey so I need some help, I went to go look to see if my beta updated and it's saying that my device isn't compatible with the game anymore. I'm currently using Samsung S21 FE 5G which should be capable of running sky. I tested to see if it'd still run and it works fine but I don't have the new update in the play store and I'm not sure what to do. I don't know if uninstalling it will disallow me to reinstall it.

Note: it's also displaying this for the live version of sky and it also runs normally

I do like the new collab space, but it seems a bit inconvenient to access the starlight desert now. Imo this room could be added to the aviary home as a secret room that opens after you fulfill a set of requirements or something

environment-wise it is a huge library of knowledge and it makes sense for there to be a room just for collabs
esp since those are IP related and TGC probably can't mess around too much with them so being able to make murals work is the best bet

In beta there's no "no cape" but an invisible cape. That's something for long time beta players and the decision to make it live hasn't been made yet (probably because in live there were many hackers - true capeless flying and it's better to spot them if capeless is not a thing in live)

Testing pants makes no sense imo because where pants glitch that glitch exactly happens with capes (layer overlays)

When I spoke to Peeking Postman, the name said "Ticket Redemption" and there was nothing to redeem? Also there's nothing in the shop menu. Is everyone experiencing that?

I think it makes for a better race having to manage your energy.
I’m more concerned about unfairness in the challenge, not everyone has 12 flaps
and (untested) getting friends to recharge you.
or the fact that on your first try you might have some environmental recharges available (burned darkness or lit candles) that are not available on subsequent attempts.

it does make for a more fun race to have ample energy, but do consider in your feedback about it that we’ve only seen a Wasteland race, it’s characteristic of wasteland to run out of energy!

sof and I just ran a piggyback white candle run and it do be very zooming (except you can't like sit at the medi circle together at the same time so it's very scuffed, the race only works for one person)

As aviary has now snow (or rather... white grass) there's one thing that doesn't make that much sense. If you get inside a house. the grass is green outside the windows/entrances.

I understand that they probably didn't though of that or didn't had time for this dumby small detail but could be cool if the area outside visible from entrances and windows has also snow (or at least the white grass). Cycles are not necessary.

Idk if i could ask about this on feedback or anywhere else. It's just an useless nitpick/request.

You need to meditate on the left side of Aviary Village! You’ll return home and then set your home to homespace using the white candle.

You can also teleport to a friend at regular home, just try to jump off the homeplate as quickly as you can.

Other method is going to Vault Summit, meditating, and then going home through the portal (right before Eden)

definitely bug report it if you’re experiencing issues with this

okay in that case you didn't actually reach orbit and you can still collect the candles you're owed
when the game restarts after you go woops in orbit or whatever, it puts you in stormlock (that's normal) and you just go back up there to collect the AC you're owed

Okay! If you are on android, then yes: there seem to be heavy graphical errors that occur on android phones. It’s something a lot of testers deal with currently - a fix for that can only be issued by the devs so I highly recommend bug reporting it.

If you’re on iOS: well also bug report but I haven’t seen that myself!

I saw the collab area yesterday, and ever since I've had thus thought. It should be hidden and I mean HIDDEN in the aviary village, maybe under the eden gate, nit in the vault of knowledge. I was thinking along the lines of a small stone statue that lets you freeze the cycle and then being able to use the tower bells to fine tune it to your favourite time of day!

Alternatively, if you don't use the stone thing you could still use the bells to change it but the day/night cycle will continue to change it if you don't enable it.

2 pm to 5pm foggy day

5pm to 7 pm sunset

7 pm to 9 pm foggy night

One idea I had was for aviary season skins

By changing the sky, ground, and stone colors, you can make aviary look like a seasonal area. I also added a replacement for the spire in the center to give more character

Enchantment: foggy night, green sand, default stone, and a purple tent

Sanctuary: afternoon,white sandy ground, default stone, and a Sanctuary bell

Prophecy: foggy day, brownish sand, brown stone, and the four element pillar

Dreams: sunset, snow, default stone, and a small ice rink with the skater statue

Asssmbly: foggy day, Forest grass, default stone, and an Assembly hoop

The Little Prince: Night, purple sand, dark blue stone, and a giant lantern

Flight: Afternoon, olive-colored Wind Paths grass, light stone, and a gate/chime thing

Abyss: foggy day, white sand, bluish stone, and a ruined spire

Performance: similar to Dreams, but with instruments instead

The problem with collabs is that TGC seems to pick ones that have a strong relationship with the base game of Sky. There’s Aurora, who has worked with TGC beforehand, and The Little Prince, which has mostly the same themes

A ghibli crossover is interesting, but the problem is, you can’t just pick one ghibli movie and leave behind the rest

I have to say, I'm still really scared about the comments feature. One thing that worries me is that Sky is, in America, rated as being safe for Everyone 10+. In some parts of Europe and Asia, it's rated as being for ages 7 and up. The comments filter has improved in some respects, but still not enough, and I don't think it ever can improve enough. With the consent of a friend I went and tested some pretty graphic messages that are the sort of stuff you'd see in internet communities that ||promote a range of self-dangerous behaviors associated with different mental illnesses,|| and... the sheer amount of stuff I was able to say was concerning. I took a lot of screenshots and will be sending them all to feedback, but I would be concerned that TGC could accidentally get themselves in a lawsuit especially for having messages that ||promote disordered-eating behaviors|| in a game that's supposed to be safe for kids under 13. In general like... so many of those comments are hard to filter, though. Even on the discord filter here where we've put a lot of work into fine-tuning the filter system, comments about that sort of thing are usually ones that I have to go delete manually... but especially comments about that sort of thing can really be influential on kids' self-images, and I'm really worried about what this could accidentally "legally" expose children to.

Ultimately, I agree that most parents ought to be more involved in what their children are seeing online and that it's not TGC's responsibility ultimately... but the legal video-game powers that be have deemed Sky a child-appropriate game, and the painful reality is that many kids online receive little to no supervision at all until it's too late, and then parents will try to come at the companies themselves.

I can definitely understand your perspective — however, Sky has, from the beginning, been a game for all ages, so it's important to consider it from that lens. If Sky wasn't advertised and designed as a game friendly for both kids and adults simultaneously, I'd agree with you that sometimes kids just need to stay out of spaces designed for adults and in spaces that were made for them... however, you could make a case that Sky was designed for them.

there is already a parental block for chat but the thing is. like this isn’t an ideal world. we can’t just say that parents need to be responsible and then everything is better, because at the end of the day it doesn’t work like that. Not every parent is gonna turn off chat, not every parent is gonna even know that their kid is playing sky. A lot of parents just give their kid an ipad and leave them to it unsupervised, and some kids actively hide their online activities from parents. It’s about protecting the kids who inevitably will be there and be exposed to this rather than saying “they shouldn’t be exposed to this” and moving on

I would love to see a parental control feature for the comments potentially, however it does conflict with part of the privacy theory of Sky about how they try to gather as little data on their users as possible for their own safety. Though if we're gonna be honest, as a full-blown adult I'm probably gonna turn on parental control for myself.

Again, feedback about this is always welcome, and the devs definitely are reading it, so please send your thoughts on it.
