Especially in the last 1,5 years the playerbase has been asking for alternative measures to the noticable inflation in prices (both IGC for cosmetics and friendship upgrades & IAPs). The events are almost continuous in Sky, often just with a week or two inbetween. This new ticket system I'm really happy about as well, it's a good answer to a lot of players' concerns, i like the change!

I think there's also the factor that Apple has been making the IAP's more expensive in a lot of countries. item ticket cost literally doesn't matter at all
they could have you get 4 tickets a day for a 16 ticket item, or 12 tickets a day for a 48 ticket item, it's literally the same just conflated higher so people have a better chance of being able to collect all the tickets in excess than losing out on the smaller number attainable daily

getting 11/12 tickets rather than 3/4 tickets, which one is actually better for the player huh

I know players who have been harassed for wearing older cosmetics and ults though, anything is possible in a game with such a wide variety of players, there'll always be some negative sides to everything

Tbh, I have had mixed feelings about the whole cape silhouette debacle. This from playing both with and without, in live and in beta.

On the one hand, yes, there are players that will treat others differently based on the silhouette of a cape, even to the point of harassment... But the same can happen based on the number of flaps on a cape, or the height of a skid. Which are still visible with the standardized silhouette

On the other hand, with all the variation of seeing silhouettes, I think it does normalize the variety you get with skids due to differing levels of play time. Yeah, some people still chase or treat others differently based on silhouette. However, with this new anonymity, I think there's been an enhancement with this to an extent - you don't know what this player is, but they have this height or number of flaps, they might be "X". It's the excitement of "Who's that pokemon?", the reveal being getting to light that unknown player. Which can lead to that same harassing behaviour

I once lit someone to be nice and had them literally chase me before. I had to close the game to try to get away. It was really freaky. And no, I wasn't wearing anything fancy, I had a basic constellation cape on. People are going to do annoying or rude things no matter what your cosmetics are.

This isn’t really a cape situation but the outfit judgment is definitely present. When I was a moth, I just had the forgetful story teller hair and the orange base cape. I was also max height since I was lucky with the resize potion. A chibi ran up to light me, once they caught a glimpse of me they ran away. I’m still traumatized 😭

Well, it’s disappointing that they had to change the unlit silhouettes. But, there’s another scenario showing how a specific cape outline could make a player recognizable. If a player is being griefed, so they log out and back in again to avoid that behavior, but they log back into the same server instance as the player who was griefing them, they could be recognized as the same player by the griefer who wanted to bother them before. There are players who never change their capes or any other cosmetics. So, there’s that…

Once again, I missed a convo, but lemme just add my two cents about the cape silhouette deal:

I hate that they're treating the ability to see unlit skids' capes as a bug. I already hated the change they made to it in the first place cuz like I said before, it takes away what little personality unlit skids already have. Now, I personally have never witnessed harassment based on cosmetics (or even based on my height/wedges) but Ig I'm just lucky, I feel y'all about that part though. But at the same time, as other people have pointed out, the change that was made is really not gonna help. People are always gonna find ways to be rude and aggresive, and taking away the one thing that gave unlit skids personality is like putting a bandaid over a bullet wound: it won't stop people from harassing others. The judgement is literally still there based on height and wedges anyway. And besides, like some people pointed out, all you have to do is light someone up and then boom, more harassment.

Sorry for the ramble, but my point is, the change already sucks, so I don't like how they're treating the reverted change as a bug

To be honest, I heard some of the players are being chased after because of their cape. Not all of the sky players are comfortable being stalked for their capes. For me, It never happened or I totally not the type to noticed. hahahahaha but everyone's got different view on it.

Personally don't feel a difference, just probably harder to identify people if you need to which is also probably the reason why people would appreciate not be be catching such unwanted attention by just wearing what they want.

I definitely did NOT like the anonymous silhouettes. It made it boring. Seeing cape silhouettes makes it interesting. I am reminded that there are so many capes in the game that I may be neglecting. So just seeing a stranger with a nice cape I haven’t worn in a while makes me wanna wear it too. I personally have never been harassed in game due to a cape in all of 3 years of playing the game. If I was harassed, it was always after I lit people and I was wearing cool masc cosmetics (hair, no mask or Anubis mask, samurai or rhythm pants, the whole ensemble)

yeah no it's surprisingly hard to lose people who are harassing you in game, I blocked someone who was making me uncomfortable and they chased me through realms and followed me home and I tried server splitting via airplane mode and I kept merging back into their server, I even restarted the game and it merged me back into their same server so I had to come off for a while - I think having a way to be split from people like that easier would be great because it can be really traumatic and having to come off the game entirely for an extended period of time just so you can make sure you won't merge back in with them is stressful

rather than focusing on the way capes look on strangers they should really improve how blocking/warp blocking works
because while I see how seeing capes on strangers could lead to harassment, I think that's really not the main problem here

I guess changing cape silhouettes might be easier to implement for the time being and if the most reporting has been specifically how people have felt and experienced harassment and bullying because of how they appear then it's just one step tgc are taking to try and combat the problem, but definitely leave feedback about other options you can think up too! I'm sure they've already got different ideas already themselves, but player feedback is super helpful with stuff like this especially

I'm also guessing they've gathered a lot of in game report data too for different behaviours that impacts what decisions and steps they take, so whilst we submit feedback here ourselves it's important to remember there's a massive live playerbase that will have numerous different experiences that provide the devs with huge amounts of data too

Same thing happened to me but with a friend I had known for a few months that day I did the no emote and bow a couple times because I wanted to be alone instead of them warping to me and holding hands with me. Despite that they kept holding on, they didn’t take the hint and I was stressed. I couldn’t chat with them since they didn’t want to unlock that. I ended up blocking them. Perhaps the emotes didn’t communicate well with the other but it’s an animation of a skid shaking their heads forming an X shape with their arms, with a big red X 😭

You can only get tickets from dailies when there is an "admire the rainbow" or "find the candles at the end of a rainbow" quest A large bubble spawns near their location that rewards 4 tickets.

The bonus bubble (worth 2 tickets) that appeared on weekends was by the rainbow clock in Hidden Forest. We don't know if that will be the same in Live yet, since we need to wait til Friday to find out.

And discord isn’t the only place they shared the blog post, they also shared it on Twitter & probably Instagram as well, and as cy mentioned, they use the inbox to inform players of the blog post if they don’t have any of those social media platforms, but the fire impacted that ability.

My main concerns throughout testing the event were being able to find/see the bubbles and the lighting issues. The event itself is pretty self explanatory and with the blog stuff and whatnot it's clear you gotta stand on the spirit platform and the rainbow arch will light up. The tickets system was explained in full multiple times too, so it's not been difficult adjusting to the introduction of that for live players, the only unclear thing about tickets so far is returning items after this year - will they be tickets again or candles.

If people are having troubles with understanding the event then that's definitely a good time to leave feedback, but I can't say from my perspective that the event seems incomprehensible at all.

As for delaying events due to the server stuff, things were delayed and tgc have been trying to update us on the issues and have even left a lengthy known issues post too. But they can't delay everything inevitably. They're working to fix the server issues and they've made it so we can still access the colours event in the meantime and with as few a bugs as possible. We can obtain enough tickets throughout the event if we only get 8 per day without the extras, including the free 8 tickets. It just means we'd have to play 13/14 days, but they've made it so we will have extra tickets so we don't have to play every day, etc.

Also remember if you're coming across bugs in live make sure to report them via live reporting channels so then tgc can investigate them asap. Since live is the main priority currently, they'll no doubt be working on bug fixing there within the parameters of whatever limitations the fire damage caused to their servers. But talking about the issues in beta chat won't help devs address them in live

Tbh, referring to the previous conversation about the days of color area, even today with just 3 colors to fill, it took my server like 20 minutes to do it or 15, mainly saw a LOT of confusion on orange so that may have been the cause, a lot of yellow and black capes at orange for some reason

on the other say you only do the bare minimum and get 4 tickets a day, you'll only be able to get like one other prop and you'd still have to play every single day

but realistically, not even the most dedicated players would stay around for all the ticket-giving performances. i know that you're technically not forced to watch them all but it's still really odd to me. watching the same performances every day will make them boring really fast and they just won't feel special anymore

which means this has been pushed to 0.22
we might not get another round to test it but we sure can still send feedback to try get changes made

But yeah, as staff have mentioned elsewhere and as others have pointed out, the fire has also impacted the beta update schedule. Don't worry, we're as impatient as everyone else to get updates out for testing, but it's going to take longer than usual to get to that point because of what happened to the servers

NVM on closer inspection the cupcakes that spawn after don’t give tickets but that is a little confusing, i think i’m gonna feedback on that
