The festival tech actually frustrates me a lot with how it's currently implemented, since it usually splits you from who you were with when transitioning to or from an area which uses it. Unless it's actually fixed in a way where you don't get yellow wifi icons when leaving the area, I don't actually want to see more of them in the game and would prefer to actively avoid them where possible -- it's too much of a hassle trying to regroup when your party's split into multiple rooms, and no-one's in an instance which has enough room left for you to reform your group

It actually feels like another feature that should have a toggle option for whether you want it on or off -- it's got very similar issues with memory crystals and shared spaces in terms of visual clutter (as well as audio, in areas where players tend to honk a lot). But especially if having it off would reduce the issue with getting split from friends, then that would be something I want as an option I could choose for myself

They would look like stacks or rows of books on a shelf but we could read them as though we were reading a library book! Maybe with double the usual word count for messages so we could write little stories or poems :>

My beta skid currently has over triple the candle amount of my live skid even though I've only done one candle run in beta so far, there are so many Days of Colour IAPs that include candles that I now have around 190 out of nowhere

There was a beta on switch, which stopped being a thing after the release since it's the rule on consoles. We only test on android and iOS because of that. PC port not being tested on PC makes zero sense. But of course some things will have to be cross tested on all platforms since they all communicate and things have to work properly everywhere

In Live, players would have more than enough tickets to purchase all they need and still have some wiggle room. In beta most events run for short time periods based on testing needs.

Not everyone got enough because of a few reasons: we experienced bugs with tickets, we spent previously collected tickets last test period on spells because we didn't realise the event tests would repeat and carry over, different playing time (not everyone played every day to get every available ticket), those who managed it really were quite lucky but come live it'll be much more polished and we'll have more time to collect tickets

Lurking in beta is great to see new things being tested, but definitely try not to take everything here as fact because things can always change by the time content is rolled out to live sky - that and our whole existence is experiencing bugs that often prevent us from being able to complete things so if you see us struggling in beta, chances are come live those struggles should be ironed out and resolved!

Also as an android player, it's not easy to optimize for Android. iOS devices are made with the same hardware and software, but android is different. There are so many different devices that work differently and coding is hard to work with many different devices to cover. So if certain things are creating lag, it's best to report exactly what is causing lag for that device so they can work on it.

This will be relatively small compared to the other two. In Harmony Hall, additional Spirits will gather to jam with, and they’ll offer some items in their Friendship Trees. More music sheets are in the rotation to try out, and a “sequencer” feature to record and loop music playbacks will be on the 2nd floor to try out.

Two new instruments will be available during the event: a violin as an IAP, and a saxophone for IGC. There will also be a marching band hat for my fellow band geeks out there. And, yes—for beta testing purposes, these will be available as spells.

Nope. I just tried it. After you shoot off fireworks, you can’t drag the fireworks icon under yourself to change your orientation to the ground. If you open the emote menu, the fireworks staff closes.

Try out all the instruments on the walls. They are hiding in almost every section. There's also one by the sequencer and two for completing the daily music challenge. Then the spell gives 4. And don't forget the section with the bells for a ticket.

Side note for new beta testers: We use beta known issues posts differently than how we use them in live.

For beta, our first priority is getting bug reports for an issue. If we put up a beta-known-issues post about a bug, it means both that we're aware that this high-visibility bug is happening AND we don't need any more reports for it.

We usually won't do a beta-known-issues post just because a bug is high visibility or high impact--otherwise I'd be spending most of a beta testing wave posting in that channel

Also, I was backreading and saw people mention that chibi fall is harder to do? I can pass that along, but for the record, no we aren't trying to patch that. Keep in mind, things like chibi fall and piggyback rocket are bugs—in other words, they're accidentally present because of how other updates in the game happened to interact.

That means that sometimes, fixes we put in for other really important things end up affecting that interaction. This has happened in the past, like when suddenly piggyback rocket would cause crashes, or props couldn't be placed in midair. So when something like chibi fall (or piggyback rocket or rainbow road in Isle and so on) stop working, please DO go ahead and mention that in one of the beta bug reports channels

My first season as a beta player I couldn't afford anything. I didn't want to cr on live and beta either. That's way too much. I ended up just focusing on getting season candles. I think I had around 400 convert at the end of the season with very light playing. I didn't enjoy testing shattering so I didn't play that season at all. Don't try to play beta like your live account is what I advise because you will burn out very fast.

I love the ticket system. I can spend candles unlocking friendship trees instead of cosmetics. Tickets only take a few minutes to collect. It reduces the need to cr and makes the game feel like less of a grind.

It feels more pressured in beta because of the condensed testing schedule and I think it will feel more relaxed in live.

I agree wholeheartedly with this! During the routine studying & working (finishing masters degree) it’s such a nice change to take a break and do something new on sky. It’s refreshing to be at least a little bit out of the “another CR today”-routine

During the first rounds of testing I was a little unsure about it all, but now that I’ve seen it, and it’s more scheduled, it’s nicer and better.

In the perspective where there's a lot of returning items, and the sky community grows everyday, it would be harder for newer players to get all items (or whatever items they want). Because of the ticket system they can get returning items and / or newer stuff

I think the point was to remove the pay wall entirely. The Chinese server have players only from China. The global servers have players from very impoverished countries that can't afford iap and tgc wanted to remove that pay wall entirely to make the game more accessible to everyone.

I still think giving a choice would be a nice thing for tgc to do. No one is forcing people to buy candle packs to get items. The event currency is good to help new players, and they won't feel pressure to buy candle packs (because that does exist), but it would be nice for people who have candles to spare to just choose to not have to grind a gameplay loop (event currency) they don't find satisfying. I find Cr satisfying, but the event currency not. So I'd prefer to use white candles for sure 🤏

I can see your point. I think it's valid too. But I think they are scrutinizing how iaps are purchased and if this is alienating those players who can't spend money on the game. I think the ticketing system makes the events feel more social. Even in the way players will obviously turn to noob and nasty mold for help. Or they may go to forums or ask more experienced friends. I like those social implications.
