one main idea so we don't create a "controversial" situation is

• spread the document as a way to show current problems with the game where we would like to see changed
• recommend people to give feedbacks to TGC (according to live/beta opinions using the doc as a base or their own opinions), since mass feedback is the best way for changes to be made.
• be respectful to the whole situation, if we are brutal with this kind of thing we will lose reason and the community would fight each other without wanting to, when our goal is always the best for the game and community.

For anyone trying to organize feedback or campaign for specific things, it's important that you know first that campaigning isn't something we can support here. It's also important to know that putting extra work and organizing any kind of document as a group will not effectively represent any opinions but those you self-select to represent, and consequently, will probably not be taken as seriously as personal, direct feedback sent to the feedback channels in this server. TGC staff read and organize the feedback that goes into those channels, so selectively picking things to organize will necessarily filter out some useful feedback

I'll also say, as someone prone to text walls but who also is the main person reading through allll the beta feedback, there is a much better chance of me understanding someone's viewpoint and reasoning if a post is succinct and to the point. 3-5 one-line bullet points about what you dis/liked, how it made you feel, and why can be VERY powerful.

Don't let it get you down, y'all! There's a lot of fantastic ideas in the doc, and it can probably still be beneficial to take what you really stood with in it and send in individual feedback with it, as well? I think it's really nice to be able to see all of those ideas in a coherent way!

I felt the same when I first joined beta (in 2018!!!) and even though the volume of feedback was much lower there were still times when people felt they weren't heard. There are of course reasons for this, like the time it takes to develop, plans that span way ahead of the current state of development, demographic and metrics info that players don't get to see, and I'm sure there are even times when dev sees idea and thinks "that would be amazing, too bad we can't do it" for a million other reasons.

hey now, don't hate the grass, the grass is lush and wonderful (and also is another example of tgc optimising their game as technology develops, etc. which isn't a bad thing, it may just not feel like a priority given other issues)

It's disheartening having to wait to know if we're heard, but it can also be important to remember that some changes are faster to implement than others. Grass change is probably not being done by the same person who works on candle economy. So don't be disheartened by seeing a bunch of small changes come in before any larger ones. Economy and anything related to candles will likely take ages to sort.

For example, I remember the Chevron system was tested in beta for months before it hit live, who knows how long it was in development internally beforehand.

But there are some times where feedback can be shown to impact development directly, and lots that I've seen having an indirect impact

Beta and live service games aren't really a matter of pressing a button X times to get Y to happen. unless you're trying to trigger the wind paths bug but pls don't do that in live. By all means try it in beta and let me know if anything happens though. but I digress. If a player/tester suggests something in 0.19.0 and doesn't see it in 20.5 or even later, it could be because:

• we don't have the tech for it
• we can make the tech for it but that will require time to, well, make, and then do the thing with that tech
• we're making the tech for it and, like so much in programming and development, it needs more time/caused gnarly bugs/got put on hold because we had to prioritize something more urgent
• the people working on it have to focus on something else
• it doesn't fit with the story/game
• it could fit with the story/game if we built a ramp up to it (= need more time)
• it is/creates stubborn bugs that need extra time and resources to fix
• adding/taking it away would create a cascade of impacts we'd need to solve
• adding/taking it away would create a cascade of impacts we can't solve
• it wouldn't be a good player experience on certain devices (especially older/low-end ones)
• the design to add/remove something would make an issue in the game worse
• In some cases, there are legal/external circumstances that prevent us from doing or making something even if we want to. Those are particularly not fun when it comes to conversations with you all because those circumstances are almost always something that mean we can't go making announcements about it.

I don’t think the conversation should be so much about profit as tgc is going to do as companies think best, but goodwill is also important and people should post feedback about how the game is or isn’t living up to expectations and ethos re a game about making friends and compassion, and whether the game feels like a constant grind vs feeling we have the candles in order to actually practice generosity. For me personally in early days I’ve been gifted multiple APs for no reason by strangers and whole friendship trees unlocked soon within meeting, and I feel while I’m in a position to give more which is nice, most people are less able now to spend candles (and I would be too except I don’t care about cosmetics as I have most of them and skip the crazy pricy ones). Friendship trees feel prohibitive right now even for me.

All they see is it's already live therefore less likely can forward it as structured data (they have internal rules as well how to gather data), and amongst that message cunami they probably don't have the time to prioritize it amongst actual many #beta-feedback entries

It's not the players' or the server members' responsibility to organise a company's routines. That is all on them. If feedback isn't given in the way that they wish, they need to set up clearer rules and/or have more active moderation across the board

while i do agree it shouldnt be on the server members to do so, i believe that sorting feedback would simultaneously improve the effectiveness and help get the message across a little better. therefore, its more a benefit for the members, rather than a burden/duty. I second this, been saying this too, I think the main issue is collecting candles daily is just not something many people get up and are dying to spend any extra time they have in their day to do

It's not to say that we should get rid of the current system imo, but add more efficient and fun ways to collect candles, maybe some competitions against players that would require developing skill or something, idk

I feel very similar, when I am CRing, I do enjoy it , but yeah when I look back and think about it I often have been contemplating why I am spending my time on it every day when I should be trying to learn a new skill that would benefit me irl or something I think I CR out of habit most days , but the repetition of it and the amazing world scenery calms me generally

As an older player, the exclusivity are for ULT’s, not reoccurring events. It should NOT be an issue if days of bloom will always have the new capes cost the same price

Increasing the price of a new item each year for the older players to feel like they’re growing is dumb. It’s like doing homework for a class you took 3 years ago. You’re failing your current classes

Days of Bloom cost 70 candles a cape. Continue to make each cape 70. Compensation for the purple cape would be a traded item. If owned, give back the 100 candles, then you can re-buy it and be compensated for those 30 candles

there's some players who enjoy the repetitiveness of games (like animal crossing) and don't mind candle running as much as some other players. but even if you're one of the few players who enjoy candle running, the igc prices are way too high to be affordable. that or you enjoy candle running but just don't have enough time to do so for hours every day

However, not everyone owns the item. To compensate for an item unowned by many is a return on an item they never bought. Hun, the new items in beta are expensive. 220 candles for the next two items for days of bloom, two props from the new season have been added, adding an extra 80 candles. 300 candles. That’s nearly 20 days, 2/3rds of a month of candle farming

Absolutely. You have to prep a month in ADVANCE. You HAVE to be aware of the beta! You cannot exist in the live version ONLY. To prep for new events, you have to prepare ahead of time. It’s gotten so expensive, it’s actually a requirement to spoil the cosmetics from live release.

The overpriced stuff, too many things to collect, TS, constellations can get overwhelming if some like to hoard like me. It’s been three years since the game launched and there is ‘a lot’ to catch up with.
The limit candles per day being 20 does get people hopeless easily

No I agree that the days events are especially heavy pricewise, what with the new items being priced way too high and the past items also being available. Bloom is absolutely outrageous for a new player, and feast was also really painful what with Aurora and pleaful hitting as well. But it's nice that old items DO return. You can wait if you have to.

whew, one thing that scares me is that certain features could be entirely intentional (which im almost sure a few of them are) for the sake of making profits, and may never be changed despite how painful it ends up being for players. and i also think for such longer term issues, the playerbase will end up with a tired acceptance at the state of everything and stop trying to argue. they just decide to deal with how things are because they dont believe its going to change :')

Since seasons last 3 months, it wouldn’t be too viable to fit all of them without creating that panic of needing to save. You can knock out a whole lot of stuff, pick and chose what items you want, get moths their missing wing buffs, visit previous season areas for a renewal of the area besides winged light, and reduce the stress of a “if I don’t do it now, I wait 3 years” since you can likely get the boat load in twice a year

It doesn’t create the stress of “I’ll never see you again” since you can just.. pick the whole season, give it a funny minor interactive event area, have them all stand around with their constellations, and pick and chose what you want without that collector stress. You know you’ll see them again when the Rhythm band visits again. Rhythm and Trials crew both visit for two weeks at a time, one will be back by the time the current season ends

veering greatly off topic but ive been questioning for a while, what are players even supposed to do in sky? theres not much content, everything has probably been explored many times over, and seasons are both time gated and short. hanging out with friends can be nice but theres not much to do, or youre a lone player... candle running works but its not always particularly enjoyable. the replayability is there, but its pretty low for a lot. i think this is perhaps more of a moment where sky simply is just a worse fit of a game for me specifically, though

it certainly would be nice to have more minigames, the skyball set was in the right direction but it is, at the end of the day, just kicking a ball

different from shards. they are not daily, but you still have to complete them within the day. what i mean is just having more time to complete the quests (not 24hrs) because if you're busy one day, well then look at that, 5-6sc missed - which kinda sucks a little bit. even if this means making more complicated quests that take more time or adding more quests per week in comparison to a day. at least then you're not required to get on sky every single day just to do them, u know what i mean?

Do you mean a bigger quest(s) for the week that you can start anytime that week but once you start it you have 24 hours to complete?

Even if my candle run takes half an hour, I get up at seven, work 8-5, cook dinner when I get home, ready by 6:30, let the dishes soak, clean the counters, feed the cat, get a load of laundry in, shower, it’ll be around 8 pm by then. I have college to worry about soon, I got bills to pay, im exhausted. I can’t play the game to destress and have my pretty princess moment if it’s going to cost time out of my day

Besides, CRing is pretty time consuming, you have to run around every map, it's not like there's waypoints to cut the time shorter 😔 i don't do a full CR run in one go because I get burnt out so fast

I have a 4h job (with some hard labor bc farm) but because if personal reasons I get so tired after any form of large gathering I get a headache that only leaves after some rest, and so tired I can hardly stay awake as is

When I wake up again I have to rush through any game dailies I have, probably eat bc it's been like 8-9 hours since I had brunchfast, and go back to bed to work again next day. 1-2 hours CR isn't feasible 90% of the workdays I have

Nowadays I only full run forest (except underground caverns), fit granny if the times match up, speed run fire/air, grab cc and maybe half cr the dailies realm

Still takes ab 1.5hrs but I get rid of all my chevs by the time I’m done (only if granny)

geyser, sanctuary, forest, grandma, turtle wax, clam, and baby clams. Chevrons gone by then (1 hr)

Next I do dailies, maybe steal the 4 candle cakes in other realm and fire+ earth trial

Ahh Id always do wlr with all my wl (except for fresh outta eden runs) so I’d just legit memorize every single location of the wl to the tea so I won’t “miss” and people won’t have to let go of my hand to get lol

Off topic, but I’ve found a new Sky Home for myself. In the Valley area with the big spinny globe thingy, there’s a little area thingymabobber, and it fits a tarp on the wall PERFECTLY and it ends up enclosing the entire area so it’s like you closed the door. Like those little houses plastered everywhere? I used the tarp on the wall and it blocks off the one entrance to a little cubby and now I’m enclosed
