I feel it's off demotivating to me because most time players won't be in the seasonal area, but will wear (or choose not to) and grind for cosmetics. But it's my personal perspective

to me the story is pretty decent and the area is really nice ESPECIALLY the music (immediately went into my favourite sky osts) the cosmetics are… ok. that’s literally it there’s some i really like, i’m a proud green warrior pants/veteran cape supporter but a lot of the stuff just doesn’t catch my eye that much. The ults are cool tho!!

I thought that because it was in the Vault of knowledge it could be something more related to mysteries and things from the place itself, I don't know how to explain it.

i feel more attached to assembly spirits for example because im actually involved in the whatever is happening. im helping to build something, and after building it I actually see my effort (noticable change in the location, shortcuts are available)
or for abyss and performance, we actually see the full story. the logical start of it and the logical end of it

So I think the comparison (regardless I disliked assembly cosmetics themes too) has fair points

I would not be surprised if 2 sub-studios work on upcoming every other seasons, so this may be the similar team as the one which did Shattering, and Aurora was made by the other one. I wish they resolved the feedback miscommunication problem from Shattering this time.

yeah, as i was saying, abyss quests, the first ones, were also the same with maybe just a few variations, but the last quest made up for it. we also like didn't really get anything from the other spirits 😕
i personally think the season's quest is kinda like that, where we get the same mechanic for the first few then the last quest

i dont know, we kinda see how Cackling Cannoneer changes through the quests, how they get more and more mad about our achievements
there is a story told, like there is a REASON why cannoneer went deep down in the sea, which lead to the final quest, and we can actually see the reason

like from Abyss I felt the tense from Cannoneer, I wanted to know what it will lead to. In Performance, I wanted to know how the.. performance will go, what the next act will be
and its not like that with Rememberance for me, im not ineterested in what is next. Im completing them for the sake of getting a free heart and not the story

The countdown is actually just the number of days the current beta build is available, they automatically expire after 90 days. If you scroll through “previous builds”, you will see the earlier beta builds and their days of expiration.

On theory, you will get kicked out automatically if the countdown number goes all the way down to 0, but Sky is still actively testing the game for now, so new builds will be updated, and you don’t have to worry about applying again

I too love the idea of remembrance being the theme for this season. However, I don’t feel like this season is “complete” yet either. I wouldn’t mind a break between 4-6 weeks in between Aurora and the live release of Remembrance to “revamp”. I have listed a few things below ⬇️

What to work on
Wounded Warrior Outfit
The outfit itself in its current state is a good concept to start, but it doesn’t feel completed just yet. The color story is tertiary and makes the outfit look drab. It needs more polishing. I understand TGC is going for a “wounded” style, but I feel like there’s more work to be done.

Bereft Veteran’s Cape
The cape design itself is a good start. But I feel it looks too plain. The clipping needs to be eliminated while wearing the shall ultimate from the quest giver to give a more polished appearance. The dark green color makes it look depressing. I know this season is based on sadness but I feel this cape needs a tune up.

Tip Toeing Tea-Brewer’s Hair
The side pony tail is nice, but I would rather have a looser hair style. Like a short hairstyle where the hair hangs freely through the bandanna. Nastymold made a concept sketch: #beta-screenshots-videos message

Quests
The quests so far, beginning from the early stages of testing I feel are far from finished. The season of remembrance is a season where “the past meets the present”. Try basing the quests on that sentence alone, rather than trying to place a prop at a random location to satisfy a spirit. At the end of the quest, leave the player guessing as to how each story ends and or what the past might uncover. I cannot stress this enough, but please TGC emphasize the LORE. It will make the season and sky’s gameplay more interesting (and mysterious).

What looks good
Tea Brewer’s Outfit
I love the orange colors and the dash of brown. The apron reminds me of the vault elders robe but much more warm and homey.

Pleading Child’s Outfit
Really cute, and the colors go together perfectly. I love how TGC made their clothes childlike (or look like one of our avatars in some way).

Suggestions

1. Add a 3rd ultimate gift (ie; a vault elder like outfit perhaps)
2. Add an area to where players can write letters to their friends from the past (or to the spirits in this season)
3. Make the quests come from a story book that the quest giver holds. Every time a player taps a quest, the quest giver will open a book to give the player a preview of each spirits

The discomfort I have with this season is that it has too much likeness with real life.
The kaki colour scheme, the cosmetics style as a whole… this doesn’t feel “Sky” enough.

TLP rose isnt the only prop, its all of them, but TLP rose is most noticeable in my head since it goes from red to WHITE in some instances and its my favorite prop

Honestly I'm on the verge of quitting sky.
I probably said this before, but I'm repeating and adding more things. I understand that some people will call me a hard to satisfy player, but if you really hate this opinion then feel free to ignore it.
Sky in the old days was a nice game with a less toxic group of players and decent content when it was still small.
||Now I feel like TGC is doing things (Seasons, Days of event )to get money and not to focus on fixing bugs or making the game content better, like seriously? The Days of love Ribbon looks nice and it would be reasonable if they made it a 20-heart IGC or something but bro, an IAP?????? And tbh it was just ripped from the DoS hat. Same with the fireworks staff... It's just slightly different in appearance and firework pattern from the og fireworks. This is really an insult to F2P player/students (like me) and I believe I'm not the only one feeling so.
Same with the seasons. The quality seems to have dropped bit by bit. Some of the items upgrade make them look worse than they were, I'd rather have them stayed put, Aurora ult gift pants for example. Also, the concepts of seasons were originally decent, but I'm curious how its quality went down like that. One more thing I'm pointing out is that things don't meet the quality their supposed to have. Like the orange aurora wing IAP, there was a diamond in middle in the promo picture of the season, but we get none in game.
One more thing I have noticed is that TGC seems to be running out of ideas for cosmetics. In the first version of Remembrance cosmetics, they honestly thought they could get away from copying past seasons. I guess some of you will say, "it's only the starting version!" but wait, even first versions of past season cosmetics didn't look similar to other seasons. If they're really out of ideas, they could've atleast gotten a reference from players designs(not asking TGC to copy) that are zero percent similar.||

• seasonal area looks absolutely gorgeous and the music is killer
• the concept is, admittedly, really intriguing
• the spirits and their stories are all interesting
the cons
• suffers from season of abyss syndrome where all the quests revolve around one mechanic, and its not like the mechanic is that new (overhaul coming?? idk)
• i get that war is an important part of sky lore but having a war season right now doesnt exactly seem like the best timing?
• also for our first vault season, this is just preference, but i wld have rather had it be solely vault focused rather than wasteland outsiders
• OH MY GOD SLOW DOWN AURORA JUST FINISHED PLEASE WE ALL NEED A BREAK

overall while i may have been harsh to it for the sake of being harsh, i do still think it definitely needs more time in the oven that tgc isnt giving it. the season needs more time to be polished and the players need more time in between seasons

When you think about the game's trajectory long term. eventually there's going to be more TS coming out ( from new seasons) than we can get from TS Visits . We get a visit every 2 weeks and usually we manage to get 2-3 visits before we dont see a TS ever again. So if you want to take into account the fact that new TS is out pretty much every 3 months ( every new season ) and each new season has 4 TS ( give or take) . then eventually we wont even get a 2nd visit from our beloved TS .. I think changes definitely need to be made to the system.

A lot of people liked it - is unfortunately not based on statistics. Other could say a lot of people left Sky because of it. Shattering was the first season (since the abundant Sanctuary) which had double seasonal candle event two times in a season with a feeling "come on you barely collect seasonal candles,let's do it!" and also it's worth to check the ratio of criticism questions in their developer Q&A on Reddit and considering they admitted (cheers to that) the feedbacks didn't go through towards the very new development team

My current plan to try to convince tgc to add capeless to live: think of some legitimate way both lore wise and function wise that it can work, someone pointed out that when capeless it is hard to tell when the person is loosing light -that can be a problem that is less than ideal in a game that is centered around friendship /helping each other

Sorry textwall. As a capless wanter I'm throwing in two cents.

I read back chat and I just wanted to say some people want capeless bc pants are their favorite items. For me I want capeless because there are tons of outfits where I feel like covering the pants up even a little is a shame.

Like with the new Fortune pants. Tlp scarf is my favorite with it but I don't have it in live-- capeless would be second favorite for that fit. Some people like other items more than capes, like me because I think pants make the outfit, not the capes in a lot of cases. Like if I have a great cape, but not the perfect pair of pants to go with it I feel super incomplete That's just me though.

Someone mentioned not knowing how we could get it implemented lore wise-- elders don't have capes. Ezpz. So we get elder masks and then maybe some pants to match the clothes and only then does capeless release to complete the look and let us be fully ascended as a Skykid bc we unlocked the elder stuff. That's the only way I think it'd make sense.

Maybe we never know real reasons but I'd say it's wise to drop the greedy TGC card in this case. I think it was a miscommunication in patchnotes or technical difficulties arised because in this case (if it was intended and not misspelled function at all) the cape should have not only teleported you, but also to change a whole area appearance in that very moment, and to get you to a server instance where cape only players are. It's very complex! : )

As a heads up, the team is aware of these weird-as-all-heck Windpaths/map shrine bugs, newer and older. Some bugs are a simple fix, and others like this one are, well, weird-as-all-heck.

The Forest/Prairie temple connection thing was before I joined TGC, but I imagine part of the reasoning for it is how easy it would be for new players to get turned around and lost. For those of us who know the game well, it's nbd, but there's a lot for new players to absorb at once. The fewer confused moths, the better!

As far as the Wings of Aurora cape, I'm sorry to hear that not having the extra teleport function is a disappointment. The main purpose of the cape is to be able to see the concert and concert-mode Coliseum again, and to bring friends with you if you want. One shortcut I do to get to the Coliseum quickly though is to go to Wasteland, then fly back from the social area to the back of the Valley temple. Easier than messing with gondolas

Are you guys also aware of the cape lighting bugs as well as the prop lighting bugs? normally I wouldn't do this, but it's been since 0.17.5 for the latter and it hasn't been fixed where all the props turn like white almost in caves and certain areas. I keep bug reporting, but I feel like it's not reported enough for it to not get swallowed up by other bug reports since I know you guys get a ton of them. I get worried it gets lost in the massive amounts of bug reports.

Takes a couple of minutes to get to colliseum through village of dreams. Once you enter, fly really high using clouds and towards the colliseum entrance. Once you reach the entrance statues you will be teleported to colliseum. Fast and easy.

Yep, the QA folks regularly compile all the bug reports sent to the channels and file them internally. I can't speak to the ticket/tickets for this bug specifically, but generally speaking, for bugs there's a triage process where the most attention goes to fixing things in order of how major their impact is. Top priority is bugs that block gameplay or progress (crashes, inability to complete quests, can't forge candles or teleport to friends, etc.).

The weird lighting thing with props is definitely frustrating, but it may take more time to be resolved depending on how complicated it is to fix and how widespread the impact is.

(Plus, the way that lighting works in the game is pretty complicated, where tweaking one variable for one location can have unintended effects in other places, as we've seen occasionally from other beta and live adventures)

True story: One of my coworkers did a bunch of awesome optimization work for Dawn and cleaned up a bunch of unused code—and when they were done, double checked that the Rainbow Road bug was still there

We kind of have one, with the "bug report" channels here. I doubt TGC would do it more intensively, it takes time to write/maintain it and might (or rather will) cause people to say "but you've known it for x time, it can't be that hard to fix!" and possibly even notice bugs that wouldn't have been as noticeable before. And realistically, some bugs might be practically unfixable (because you'd have to, say, rewrite the entire lighting system code and redesign that system completely), and other bugs might cause extreme errors in the game, both are something TGC wouldn't want to spread. Therefore, the channel would still be incomplete. I agree more communication would be nice, though.
(I feel like I should mention that this is not meant as being against you, just trying to point out some issues I see. I totally agree that sometimes I'd love mentionings of whether they are aware of something or notions of dangerous bugs.)

For clipping in general, I'd give the same explanation about bug triage. We try to fix the stuff that's egregious, but also, we have approximately 11 gajillion possible cosmetics combinations, so it's not necessarily possible to fix every instance of clipping right away. But please go ahead and keep reporting it!

The term 'copy paste season' has come from (iirc) people complaining about the cosmetics looking similar to previous season cosmetics, ie: child pants in first build looking similar to abyss pants, etc

Argument against it tho is that yeah cosmetics are going to have some similarities , it is the same world, but I get it

well the whole theme for this season is refugees in isolated area so it doesn't really make sense to have bright colored cosmetics

also cy pointed out that the aesthetic tgc used for this season is muted, greenish, and sepia colors so pink would feel so out of place

We've been asking for lore for a while - with Shattering we got a few crumbs imo and with Aurora we got absolutely dunked into the history of sky realms, and now we're gonna focus on the victims of the war and destruction in sky specifically and it's just kudos to the devs for feeding us! And to whoever wrote the Remembrance announcement, it was beautifully done! I think it highlights how intricately woven through the seasons the Sky story really is.

I just wanna casually point out that the content we see in beta is unfinished, but the fact we've been told to hold off on the next quest because they can't revert our progress for when they give us the next build with the intended content means they have a more polished build coming and that's the whole point of beta - just cause we don't see a finished product yet doesn't mean they haven't been working further on it

To be honest though, as a shattering non-enjoyer myself, I was reflecting on the way quests and such have been presented across all seasons including Remembrance the other day with Cy and when I looked at it objectively shattering was a mechanical and event introduction season, it gave us the crumbs of lore, but at the heart of it they were introducing shards to us and getting us accustomed to the crawl mechanic hence the samey quests. For Remembrance, idk what the quests are to look like other than what we have since we haven't got the polishes yet, but the same share space quests which might feel like they're just unfinished and unserving of actual content give us scope to focus on the actual spirits and their memories. The whole point of this season is to connect with victims, refugees, no matter where they're from in the world of sky. To see humanity at its core, they treasure items that remind them of loved ones they've lost just as any human would. Having quests that revolve around us creating spaces with their favoured items at its core really gives us opportunity to pause and reflect on their memories and their emotions more so than any grand exploration quests would. Although that is just my personal reflection so far.

Also I will say being a little prince moth did skewer my perception of how quests should be grand, should take us on a journey across sky, even with flight it should see us develop an area, tell a big story of change, etc. but when I sat and reflected on my perceptions of each season and really dissected them it helped me realise that not every season will or should have quests that are massive story tellers and it's okay that some will have more subtle ways of revealing the story to us.

I refer to the fact that we have an outdated build to base our assumptions on only, maybe the next doot will feel more polished. Also the same things were said about shattering but when it hit live it was a popular season.

Also the general consensus here is just a fraction of voices of the thousands of beta testers who aren't active here, then there's live with millions of different players and opinions.

Honestly yes, as I found throughout shattering season just because I didn't like it didn't mean others disliked it too, I came across so many people who loved it. Same goes for any of our opinions here

Also full disclosure whenever I came across a shattering lover during the season I couldn't understand why they enjoyed it because to me it was just a bad round of testing and I felt soured when it went to live, but when I look back on it I can see why the season was created the way it was and it's valid that there's plenty of fans out there for it.

The whole neck/shoulders on the krill cape just looks odd and ill-fitting. It doesn't look good with anything really. Which sucks because the earlier versions looked like they were less ridiculous.

See, from a global launch player pov, seasonal quests and large new areas weren’t even a thing until enchantment. And as much as i like enchantment, their quests were just about searching for the lights to repair the ship, much less engaging if compared to performance or dreams.

Remembrance quests are cool to me, cuz it reminds us that there is really little u can do for someone who is grieving over loss, and being by their side is the best support u can provide.

I’m still salty how they decided to place the sunny forest shattering shard in the raining area tho, that’s one reason why i dont touch shattering after the season
