Yeah the bright quick butterflies are somewhat annoying when they appear and make a bright circle and throw you in the air I appreciate the extra light charge but they are distracting. The bloom in prairie/home is pretty bad too and I don’t wear white capes because of it, the part after Eden is also extremely bright…I’m praying they can fix the spam honk bug before it goes live because I’ve been getting headaches from that

Originally i thought it was kinda cool because i could keep my wings charged almost constantly through all of wasteland. Then i realised they follow you to the ends of the world and never leave you alone, and i have never loathed a game feature more than the darkness butterflies.

Butterflies doesn't affect me after all (imo and imp) since its wasteland, but there is just some that it is too much like honking and blooming.

This exactly. As you learn to fly better, giving you a better grip on controlling your flap consumption,you need the recharging less and less. The butterflies are maybe useful to moths but most of the more experienced players aren't exactly thrilled about them

the butterflies that bother me the most tbh are the ones in the first area of Wasteland when you long honk to get the crabs to flip so you can do that big section of dark flower

To be completely honest these butterflies did a good job with helping you recharge when there's no source of light
Maybe it's just me ,i can see why people get bothered because i did find some difficulties myself

From the moment moths learn the use of flight toggle, butterflies distract them as well. The force upwards makes them loosing their sense of position in the area. They aim somewhere but arrive and bonk somewhere else

Yes they can be helpful,but it'd be better if tgc made it so they only recharge you if you long honk for them . I almost never run out of cape power by now because i use as few flaps as i can,so the butterflies constantly dragging me into the sky across the whole of forest and wasteland aren't exactly helpful

Moreover, no matter I use flap mode, butterflies occasionally yeet the character up, so they are distracting moths going in any direction in any fly mode

I believe they added butterflies coming from plants to help with the red shards, but maybe they should just fly normally instead of circling unless you call/go super close or reduce ones near tons of crabs

And cy that explains why I’ve been able to visit sanctuary longer these days, I remember during the season my friends wanted to hang out there but it was sooo bright for me

The only place I really liked them in Wasteland was in the extinguished fire pit in the center of Graveyard. I liked flying in there and then calling to be raised to the top. And that’s the only place where they didn’t add them back in!

If you want to lure the red crabs away from the plants by long honking the butterflies just carry you off and the crabs turn around. I'm relatively good at dodging the red crabs and usually try to make them run into the clouds but it's nearly impossible when you constantly get carried off

I think that may be a bug because of the aurora quest,but for players who don't usually fly up there with the birds, or don't know you can fly up with the birds, that's a major nuisance

Yeah, they used to. We used to light the Fire Trial candles this way. Now it no longer works. The white candle will light big candle stacks, but not a single candle anymore.

They never tipped downwards for red candles for me — the only time they’d light reds was if the bottom player was chibi, which causes the top player to be low enough to the ground to light them without tipping

Bottom (running) player chibi, top player any height. If the leading player is too tall to do the naruto running animation, the player on shoulders either can’t light red candles with a white one, or ends up lighting them much more slowly due to far lighting distance

Also, it worked perfectly in the past with me being shortest height atop a very tall friend, so that’s interesting.

But I don’t remember how fast we were walking. My clearest (most recent) memories were doing it in the Fire Trial, so we were going fairly slow there…

The running animation itself isn’t that important, it’s more indicative of your natural height and how far off the ground the piggybacked player will be (the shorter you are, the more the animation blends into the naruto run rather than the tall player run)

I also remember one time I was doing a granny time where a player had a fireworks staff, this was after they made grannies area so much brighter and the butterflies flicker and glow brighter as well. My eyes already hurt so much but I really needed the wax. There was a player tho who kept spamming fireworks and severely overwhelming me yet proceeding to target me the more I asked them to stop. I really wish they would turn down the bloom cause holy-

This is also why I wish they return the idle spots back to the way they currently are in live because grannies area get far too bright and overwhelming for my eyes and anxiety to handle. The light buns they added to the idle spots make it tedious to idle there, and as someone with a super busy squeduale and extreme burnout? Near impossible to collect wax throughout my day within my schedule. The shard events already make it so I miss every shard basically cause my schedule conflicts.

I understand what you’re saying, but wondering why it worked for me in the opposite combo. And I meant trying to gauge the speed of how quickly I lit the candles that way in the Fire Trial is tricky to think back on, since we were walking slowly and lingering there. I’m also wondering if stance could have any impact on the height you sit at while on piggyback, or rather the height your hand is at… I’m often in stances where the arms are crossed: casual cool or Sanctuary timid…

If you play mobile vs console, that could be it. But to be fair a lot of the props on your back still get motion blur in both games, and you have to play beta on mobile making it so you have to focus on a smaller screen. Could also be a mix of all the bright lights and way they have the bloom and motion set up in beta for the surrounding world too

I play both on mobile. But I guess the lights are different between the two (which always happens). However, I just don't know what triggers me now since I never got motion sickness as severe as this throughout my testing experience. Probably the bloom thing.

as ive said before, we need a full graphics settings menu with sliders for bloom and contrast etc, a way to disable realistic water, a way to lessen the glowiness of stuff, and possibly even a way to lessen the brightness of deepcalls

That’s so sweet I think the moth days at least once you get a nice set of friends are really unforgettable and it’s too bad tlp can’t be replayed because it was a cool season and if I remember correctly the prince would say different things depending on where you brought him

also along those lines, there are a lot of flashing lights in the concert that could potentially cause headaches and epileptic seizures if an in-game warning isn't clearly stated.

i've mentioned it before, but even if there was a flashing lights warning given beforehand, it still would be the best option to reduce the flashing by a lot or just remove it entirely. it would be extremely unfair to gate the concert and the entire last season quest and make people miss out because they chose to preserve aesthetics over accessibility.

it's mostly in the exhale inhale section (the lightning over the water) and the seed (lightning causing the entire map to light up and then go dark again. extremely bad on the eyes, lightning is a bad idea in general). it's also the huge swarms of the players (during the animal avatar parts) like the jellyfish in all is soft when a lot of players are confined in a small area, the character models themselves and the relentless honking they give off are both a problem.

The colors are based off of what cape color the player is wearing usually. The ghost skykids will just appear as colorful badminton pucks floating around and make your concert seats look like a cluster of Confetti

My nostalgia involves the mushrooms during season of enchantment and finally buying a table to glitch with to reach them with my friends I wonder what the moths starting during this season will be nostalgic about, probably the festivities in the nighttime colosseum and going to the concert with friends/finding each other in the crowd?

Imo, my favorite/strongest seasons list goes

Tlp, flight and performance tied, dreams, Enchantment, assrmbly, Prophecy, Sanctuary, abyss,...... shattering go sit in the corner

Edit: aroura is prob on the same level as flight and performance

I wish I could have gotten some past cosmetics but I'm just holding hope out we get something like a 2.0 for them or something. Overall though I live starting in tlp. There's probably only 2 ults I really desperately wish I could have gotten. Theres so many tlp moths it feels like a big family and the season is a lot of people's favourite in terms of story (I see it listed a lot when people ask which seasons did people like the most).

It's nice to know our seasons beloved. Rip to shattering moths tho people will probably be least nostalgic for that season in the future.

oh yeah definitely. there's been a lot of talk about this from players lately, the ts system needs to be reworked. as more seasons get added, there will be a lot of spirits that need to return and may take years before they do.

As much as I want to have the fox mask, I think past seasons ults should just come back as the 2.0 version of it. Like penguin hair similarly look like owl hair utl.
I still believe that there's should be some sense of exclusivity and if my opinion sounds bit ignorant, pardon me for that. I do believe that some exclusive items should only be owned by veterans. It different than items owned by ts.

@placid nymph I am answering you here, to keep chat out of the #beta-screenshots-videos channel. All (I think) of the cosmetics from Season of Aurora that you see in these screenshots are no longer available, since the season ended in beta. Many players tested the concert recently, which allowed them to complete the fifth Aurora seasonal quest, making the orange fairy/butterfly wings available for them to purchase. Those players were then able to gift the orange wings to friends who logged onto beta within a certain timeframe after the concert. But I think that time has passed.

Sorry but I disagree with you the top wings and the bottom wings are placed at different angles, the top ones are positioned more upright whilst the bottom ones are more angular, meaning that the bottom ones are more susceptible to “bounce” from the gravity mechanics of the game. I like how animated and flowy the wings are when walking on the ground, it makes up for how stiff they are when we’re flying imo

In this case, the “beta shop” could be the one that you open via the settings menu either at Home, in the Office, or in the coliseum; the “shops” that you open by clicking on icons on the screen near the outfit mannequins that used to be in the coliseum; or any “shop” that opens via clicking an icon near a spirit or non-playing character (NPC) anywhere in the game: Home, Office, Harmony Hall, etc. There’s not just one “beta shop,” but potentially a few shops in the game at any given time.

Shattering had so much potential and had hardly any lore for what was told to be a " lore filled" season. It should have been postponed until next year or when they had a team that could properly have been able to make shattering the way it should have been made.

It would be really cool to see new ecosystems or cultures that haven't been touched yet in sky. However I know they actually had issues with Korea and China regarding the old design for dancing performers hat from the season of dreams. It's real unfortunate since it was a really nice looking cosmetic, but unfortunately the disputes between the two made it easier to just change the design since both argued over which culture it was really from/supposed to represent.

I hope we can still see more and new cultures though without running into this problem

TLP area on the other hand does feels heavily dreamlike desert, i didnt even think it as desert tbh.

I just came across a photo depicting the changes made in the scene before rebirth- the one where your gray sky kid meets and hugs the light sky kid, and I’m just confused... I don’t understand the angle change, as I deem the original pretty perfect (especially for the vibe of the scene), and don’t get why the iconic reflection is no longer there (especially since the floor reflection was literally just incorporated into the Shattering memories).
I’m just wondering how ya’ll are thinking and feeling about these changes? I’d love to better understand from those currently experiencing them if possible.

Ah fair. Most of my shattering memories about beta are very blurred since I wasn't able to play sky much at the time: hence taking things I say eith a grain of salt. Though most of them are based on opinions and loose things that stray from poor memory.

But I do remember there being some issues about beta players being upset about the feedback about the shards not being listened to at all when the season hit live/information about people saying the season wasn't ready yet they still pushed it.

Understanding deadlines for aroura, and how much went into cosmetics instead though... I can see why now

Yes. Since shattering brought a permanent feature, it could have been better and Eden changes with crawling mechanism could have been postponed. But people always learn on the go and by trying. TGC is a company which likes to experiment with new ways development and maybe with inner workflows as well which always has its pros and cons. I think it's a give or take with this game which also makes it less predictable and often more exciting.

Theres like a glitch with a table and a friend.
you gotta place a table in the air, then use a table spell and put it nearby, then you both sit at the table, both offer a hug (but dont accept) then you use another table spell and keep placing it or something (while the friend is still offering a hug), i cant really remember how to do that step

Yeah I went with my friend, even though we were in separate rows at some point I was able to warp to the “shuttlecock” with their name over it and then we were in the same row and able to see each other and chat. In the concert itself, we were able to talk to each other but not hold hands (it might be possible with warp unlocked but we didn’t have it). In orbit and Queendom, we were actually able to hold hands with each other

But I have high doubts it is the actual concert since they'd need players to be able to actually finish the 5th season quest and unless a new moth is friends with someone who holds the aroura cape, they won't be able to watch it. (Not assuming that's what you meant ot think the quest will be btw, just ideas of mine) to be fair I missed a lot of other assumptions and play testing for aroura cause of personal life matters so for me it's still a mystery though internal pain as I realized I had one extra day that would have allowed me to get the white pants that I really wanted. The way I saw it, Musical Voyage clearly meant concert because it kept referring to it as that in the game. And they can just remove the last quest after the season ends, like with how they will be removing the outfit and and mask most likely.

They will need a way to allowed new players to access the 5th quest, especially since there is a music sheet we can buy for candles after the season is ended. I highly doubt they would just drop that and make it unavailable if it's still open after the season ends. However the only way I can see the concert really being the 5th quest would be if they activated it for an offline solo experience that only triggers once where as peopel who played the season while it was still active were able to have the multi-player experience. Guess we will just have to wait and see though

Okay but I would love to see this. After finishing the constellations and getting all the teir 2 capes even- it felt very underwhelming to finally get my last elder hair. I would live to have seem some form of celebration or ceremony for unlocking the friendship with ALL the elders.
