Officially, in the wiki at least, they are known as Guardians. I personally call them War Machines however, as depicted by the main cutscene, and Glyph #9, which we can see the ancestor civilization waging war with these machines, hence, War machines. It was further reinforced to me with Glyph #7, which depicts the ancestor civilization mobilizing to mass produce these machines, again presumably, for war.

There is however, a glyph that may be contradicting this: Glyph #4
Which depicts the ancestor civilization doing... nothing of harm with them. You can even see some birds on that glyph too where as all others (that depicts these machines) lack depiction of wild life. This, to me, means either 2 possible things. One is supportive of the War machine thesis, and one isn't:

1. Escalation (supportive of my little war machine thesis), which requires no further explanation at this point of my post they could have been patrolling from attacks against the other side/clan/group/ideology, and....
2. Harvesting??
   The logic behind point two is that these machines are often seen shredding cloths. Maybe they were meant to also shred and harvest crops? Further more, it seem like Glyph #4 depicts a relative time of peace.

It is worth your time and money in my opinion. Just remember that Journey is (almost completely) a one-time experience. It's a very spoiler sensitive game, and if you've watch things about it before, it might affect first impression.

You can meet another player in Journey after entering the bridge level from the chapter select area! The other player remains anonymous until you finish your playthrough with them. It does take a while to wait for another player tho cuz I had troubles waiting for one after I replayed Journey recently

I love the game so so much. Even though I know it's better experienced on playstation, the iOS version is nothing to scoff at. The game itself is devastatingly beautiful, and it really really sticks with you. The only reason not to try it imo is if you're planning on buying it for a PS

Flying works similarly like in sky. The shiny symbols you collect are like winged light, they make your scarf longer. Cloth creatures can recharge your scarf and if you deep call they can boost you higher. Some cloth creatures that aren't moving or glowing need to be awoken by calling near them. On PS4 flying is X and calling is O, don't know about other platforms. There's no manual jumping, your character can do a little hop automatically when you're walking up stairs or something like that. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd love to help further.

All she remembered was a bright white flash, then nothing. She saw a mountain in the distance. She immediately knew why she was here. And then just as sudden as the white flash in her memory, another memory came flooding into her head. It was the memory of her dear friend and how their hiking trip turned to a disaster. She and her friend were hiking on Mount Story when all of the sudden, a snow storm struck. Blinded and frozen from the snow, her scarf had been frozen from the very low temperature when a piece of hail hit it. The scarf crumbled as it was rolling down the hill from being broken off her cloak. That still didn't answer the question of why her cloak was now red.

Nope, it has multiplayer

After you finish the equivalent to the home level, you get randomly synced with someone else playing

If you get too far away, your games will unsync and you have a chance of syncing with someone new

There's no chat, but you can sing/beep at the other player to communicate

Also, if you're playing on say steam, you learn the other player's name at the end of the run

Uhh any idea why I suddenly cannot seem to run Journey and Flower at 120 fps? I used to be able to run them at 120hz earlier, now it's barely 30 fps. I can play much more intensive games like GTA V, Metal Gear and RDR2 at like 90 fps (even Crysis works at 45 fps lmao), but not these two

It's most likely the minimum requirements so you need either this processor or a stronger one. There's one listed for AMD and Intel. You can check what you have in the settings of your computer (used to be in right clicking on " my computer" and going to properties on windows7)

Don't remember the exact number, if you're trying to find every one on the map, try to not get ahead of the flying cloth creatures. Just follow behind them and they should lead you to every location. If you get ahead of them they switch to the faster route and skip some, so be careful.

It is interesting. Starting from a very peaceful natural environment to a big and nature-void city. At first the goal is to bloom flowers in a dull land,then the goal is to get rid of junk in the city,thus increasing nature there.
Flower is recommended if you have the hardware/software to play it But it can be completed in only about 2 hours so you should consider that.

@torn oxide it’s probably due to wind overhead or if they’re using a white skin then they’re probably letting their character refuel enough to where it’ll allow flapping but won’t get them anywhere

^^^^ Journey and the other TGC games pre-Sky weren't made for mobile (I think they were developed for PS4 first) but ported to phones afterwards. Personally I really liked playing them on a bigger screen than my little phone but I get that's not an option for everyone

Flower is interesting indeed. At first it involves spreading color and nature to to a dark environment. Then it is about going to a city to spread nature there. The city is full of junk and the purpose is to get rid of the junk and doing this will spread nature in the city.

Flower can be completed in just 2 hours so you should consider that,and it has nice music and visual effects🌻

The controls are a bit weird so it can be hard to play at first, in my case I kept flying in circles to get the flowers I missed and it made me feel motion sick.

Depending on what platform you intend to purchase it for, you can get flower for a lower price if you buy it with journey.

Don't get me wrong, me getting motion sickness from it doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's actually pretty good, I just needed time to get used to the controls.

Not really. The ultimate reward is the white cape. I used to play Journey a ton and discovered that you can fast fly and do cool flying tricks, which is something that kept me playing Journey for a long time.

Idk if others in the server know that you can fast fly in journey tho cuz I look it up in the search option and only my two messages come up vkssgkkhsigskgs

But yeah once you finish Journey, nothing else happens. You just can play the game again. There is a lot to adventure tho.

It’s really really hard to fancy fly on iOS journey cause the control and camera is really annoying. (all’s good if you play with controller) I got my white cape after second run through but I keep wanting to play more just to learn some flying tricks and find oobs. You start out as a red cloak, then once you collected all the symbols (which let you fly higher and longer like the wings in sky) you get to change to the white cloak (after you completed first run through). The white cloak recharges when you on the ground which makes explore so much easier. At first your cloak only have a trim pattern and after you finish the entire game you get another pattern on it, it goes up until you finish your forth run, then it stay the same
