Well, since today is the last day of Lightmending I did some calculations of how many candles I'll get total. I have 134 Seasonal candles and I have around 160 regular candles. So in total I'll have around 290+ candles.

it's nice when there's butterflies to go on it and if you love decorating, it's not bad. but utility wise it has no purpose other than to be pretty. I don't think it can summon butterflies on its own so if you want them on it, it's gotta be a place with butterflies

Hearing the hate merely based on the fact that its a "recycled spirits" season saddens me. There's so so much to appreciate about it. I really love how they incorporate the Kintsugi to keep the designs more grounded to Sky while feeling sorta Sci fi (the deviced xP) I love how they explored the futuristic look befitting Vault in the concepts before settling with the good ol classic Kintsugi culture

As someone who loves sci-fi, I genuinely enjoyed seeing how they fit the sci-fi theme within Sky, and seeing people hate on that saying it "doesn't feel like Sky" makes me feel pretty bad Glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed it though

When lightmending was first teased my friend and I got excited over it bc the guide reminded us of Guanyin / Kannon, a deity who's said to heal the suffering people. Even more so that Kintsugi came from the same philosophy and culture where Kannon was venerated

We've had so many music/performance related themes that Lightmending being sci-fi/fantasy with gadgets and gizmos really stood out!

It had an idea that was both literal and metaphorical (you're not just repairing broken stuff but you're restoring memories of people long gone).

You can play daily even post season, is a HUGE candle run change of pace, and the cosmetics are a style we very much needed!

I literally had a friend I wasn't... totally close with merge with me in Grandma barely a week into Lightmending and was already telling me "Well this season is a disappointment".

Days of bloom update:
Some seeds which I sowed during days of bloom ending appear to start sprout

One seedling of Viola tricolor from wild seed i have collected appear to sprout, Unfortunately, I am unable to identify the plant because the seedling is too small, i dont think its something else as I myself collected seed and dirt was clear

Other seeds show signs of rooting, they were covered wich small layer of dirt i await in few days leaves breaking through the ground

the game may seem to reconnect to the servers with the logo showing up, but it does not. that explains why you appear to lose your progress with dailies and all your friends appear unlit. restarting your game will properly reestablish your connection with the servers

But oddly both my mobile data and home WiFi works just the same so I'm not really sure

if sky is still relying on AWS, then it's sky's servers specifically. there's been no significant disruption or outage on AWS status trackers since this issue began

it's a bug that cropped up yesterday. you will have to restart your game. it may seem to be reconnected, but you will see that all of your friends' stars in the constellation menu appear unlit. it also does not save your progress on daily quests. restarting your game will properly reconnect you to the game's servers

When you log in but the connection does not actually happen, you're inside the game without any connection occurring so when either session loss or the Sky logo pops up, the game is attempting to reconnect in middle of your session

That's a Nintendo thing, I'm afraid. The graphics on the Switch are purposefully not high quality. Nintendo does that on purpose to keep the costs of their consoles lower than other consoles. It's fine for games like Animal Crossing and Zelda, but for a game like Sky, certain details are focibly lost because the Switch just can't handle displaying those graphics. As a Switch player, it makes me sad, but that's the reality of playing on there.

As far as I'm aware, I've never seen the moon or sun on the switch. I was around when it first launched on there and that's always been an issue they've had troubles with because of the way Nintendo does their graphics. I'm also not seeing anywhere in the patch notes any mention of the sun and moon disappearing suddenly. So maybe I just wasn't paying attention? If it's never been in known issues, it probably wouldn't pop up in the patch notes, I'm thinking.

So upon playing the quest when a new season is around, the game leaks the upcoming candles.

Or sometimes if I was alone some place isolated or kind of away from people, practicing music, and get frustrated, I spam honk, stomp, cry etc to vent...

On a brighter note I'm watching the news channel like a Krill in anticipation of Days of Nature.

Dailies used to be completed at lughtning speed because they're usually "Go to this object or pick up that abundant thing".

I would like to pass a vote to ban players from honking that spam deep call in vault trying to get shared spaces or memories to spawn, even if after like 6 honks nothing happens they still do it, its so loud i can heart it back on the way to The Light

Unpopular opinion:

Most escort spirits aren't really hard so much as they are tests of patience.

The actual hard ones (besides Pleaful) I can argue are Hiking Grouch, Laidback Pioneer, and Saluting Protector.

Some can argue Crab Whisperer since their path can intersect with Krill line of sight.

I hope we get more spirits whose memories involve collecting fragments (e.g. confetti cousin, jelly whisperer)

I tried, not on site where that bot is hosted but i did use bot my or somebody else for reminders and i can confirm that few things could make message fail to send or time was set wrong, or there is just no message

Or when i made small code issue that result to second be added over time offseting reminders in future

The sea turtle mask from season of trials is interesting..... Cuz I had to look it up to figure which animal it was.

practically yeah, there's some very slight differences like the pants being a bit more blue in hue (+ darker), sleeves being shorter and a dyeable armband but that's about it

was also checking the wiki earlier and hadn't realized how similar these two are

one thing of note is that the rainbow trousers seem to be on the [No Shoes] section, whereas the Jelly Whisperer pants are on the [Has Shoes] tab -- so you'd have to glitch shoes on if you're gonna use the upcoming pants

Neither of my sky kids are currently wearing any shoes. One because they don't own any, the other cuz none they own fit their outfit.

I'll see if I can reach or be close to 400 candles before the Jellyfish Whisperer comes. I am still planning on getting the pants, that way I can save candles for any future things

Agreed, but for my style analytics, maybe it fits for summer vacation when going to the beach or going to the breezy place when you have the straw and round hat like Crab Whisperer's hat.

Also buying charitable IAPs using Sky Webstore gives you an extra 10% donation

such as wave hair 2024 and seafoam cape/boots 2025

the latter even goes for $25... so much money that could go to charity

I do understand from the price standpoint, the seafoam bundle being a charitable item would push the price a little too further, given the new tech they're experimenting on for the cape, it could be up to 30 bucks 😭

if they go with that one, even fewer players would be willing to donate to the charity due to how expensive it is for most players

Weird question - I noticed that on the first floor of Vault someone has put in upside down chairs, which I assume are used to get behind the door. I watched a sky kid sit on the chair and disappear but when I sat in the chair, every movement I made took me back up into the room. What is the trick to detach yourself from the chair while remaining under the floor?

usually you'd have to interact with something else near the chair, instrument props or props that can be ignited work for this. but it also depends on your height and the surface you wanna clip through

I don't remember well if I found it easier or harder being smaller, my normal height is quite tall

if you are chibi though you don't really need to use a space to clip, you could simply chibifall on the sand slopes or any other elevated spots haha

either way, interacting with instrument stand / fire prop will get you through regardless of your size

However, the seafoam set being a 'pretty' piece of cosmetic really attracts players. The higher number of purchases will help with revenue.

Also, some players are more willing to pay if the item is for charity, despite the higher prices

Even if at the high price, seafoam cape will definitely help in breaking the charity records

Prettier items should be for charity, too!

Although TGC doesn't pocket the entire revenue, the high demand for those items (bc they look good + people want to donate) will offset the revenue loss from donations
