I was in the new area underwater and found a tunnel, out of curiousity I went into it to see what was on the other side
though on the way there was a wall that blocked me from going further
flying, moving around or teleporting home didn't work so I had to leave the game to avoid losing further air

there’s a hole down in the bottom of the crescent lake that leads to a tunnel. you may have to swim around a bit to find it bc it’s not obvious but it is there. many players have reported getting stuck in the tunnel tho so be prepared to teleport home so you don’t drown

Public Service Announcement: if you don't want to lose WL in the first quest of the new season, bring a friend that's already done it. They can see your lost WL, jump around and get it back for you. I've been spending time in that area getting people's WL back for them almost all day. Sometimes ten or more will pop out of them. They have no WL to get it back as fast as you can plus there are no fungi for you to navigate.

cry for me. 🥺 i just tried doing the saluting protector without the trick, got spotted by the krill in front of the checkspot where the child of light is, actually managed to flee the scene without getting krilled, lost the spirit because it took me too long to return and then got pulled into the "the light has gone out, try again] scene and RIGHTTT AFTER it ended the krill spotted me again and i didnt have enough time to travel home so i still lost my lights TT

and right after returning he caught me again in a nook where i have NEVER been spotted by a krill before

they are really out for blood these days. so mean, they already took 15 of my lights duringh the first quest of the new season

Edit to say: there were other sky kids around when i got spotted the first time but no one helped save the spirit TT eventhough they probably gladly wouldve collected the reward if i had finished it

You can make the place krill-free by heading to shipwreck first then turn back using the back door to attempt the spirit. The krill is activated when you enter the area from the front door.

I've been flying winged light patrol down that canyon in my spare time for a couple days and I've noticed that the people who don't try to run from the krill are the ones who don't lose light. The people who try to sprint past the krill or run backward away from it are always the ones that get tons of light knocked off. So, I think the intention is not for you to lose WL, but some players are moving in ways the game didn't necessarily expect so it's causing WL to get knocked off.

The trick to getting through the first quest intact is to accept that getting krilled is part of the story there and you can't outrun it

The thing is I don't think there's anything to fix, I think it's working completely as intended, they just didn't expect so many players to panic and try to outrun/play tag with the krill. Don't touch the plants, the plants WILL drain your light faster than anything else, and stand far away from the plants when the krill comes for you and you should be fine. You will get extinguished (light gone) at one point but it shouldn't knock off any wings as long as you don't try to run.

I did it this way and didn't lose any WL and then I told my friend to do it this way and she didn't lose any WL either

||What's supposed to happen when you stand still and the krill comes for you the second time is the deer jumps out and saves you. If you try to run from the krill though, you can run out of range of the deer and have the krill hit you full in the face||

If you carfully walk trying to avoid the dark plants and keeping an eye on your cape (numbers of WL) you can notice that when you get near the dark plants they will drain your energy. That is what make us loose WL.

I saw a couple of extra WL and rescued them all, including 2 of mine.

Ohhh, that’s why extinguished players never respond to rescue squads chasing them with relight candles. They can benefit from fire sources parked at the last cutscene checkpoint, so I assume they can see those, and mass deep-honks are also recharging them there, but I didn’t realize they can’t see our skykids.

Also, has anyone tried redoing the first quest as instant trapdoor to pity room?

Seemingly you can’t escape the underwater tunnel in the season area at 60fps, but for 20 and 30fps it works

on iOS for me it works with 60 fps with moving to the tunnel when being stuck (got the tip from aure)

This sounds like 30fps to me… after many tries I managed to escape at 60fps now, but it‘s hard to do before you lose wings. You need to fly down under the tunnel, and then try to somehow get up, similar to 30fps but very difficult.

Ok I replayed the deer vs krill and I didn’t lose a single wing. Walk slow, dont go near the dark plants, they really quickly drain your life. When the krill first spots you let it hit you, all it does is steal your light but not the wing number. Now be very careful watching your life and wait away from the plants to recharge. Slowly continue. When the krill appears again stay still and exit the game for 5-10 seconds without closing it. Re enter game, do not touch anything and let the cutscene continue deer will save you. This little trick is to make your character inactive so you don’t lose your wings to the dark plants that are still draining you during the cutscene.

Which hair do you have? If it is the two to the right of the moth hair (in the hair menu) then there’s a bug that doesn’t load them once you restart the game. I think the bug exists because they are new.
