If I have understand it right so is the schedule 2 week of DCC then 2 week Boot camp, then all start from begin again. This is the same for all Adobe DCC servers. This week is it week 2 of Boot Camp

Boot Camp take a special task and go through it more in depth for one week, for example this week have Nick Logo take us through how to design a packing from idea to finish product with help of Illustrator and Dimension and this teama is the same in both Ps, AI, XD and Pr Server's

In the spreadsheet's I make can you see the broadcast day for both DCC and Workshop / Bootcamp (WS/BC) they all have index and day number like to day is lats day of Bootcamp 2022-13_WS/BC #4 the index of Workshop/Bootcamp follow the index of DCC index have a format of Year-Serial number #daynumber (not date) normal 1 to 10 for DCC and 1 to 5 for WS/BC This both Ps, AI, XD

Pr have a diffrent index 2022-11-WS/BC_4 for to days broadcast next week will the index start at 2022-12-1 for Pr and 2022-14 #1 for Ps, AI, XD
Observe Pr and XD one week only now 1 to 5

For the dust You can use brush tool
For background You can use any selection tool to select it, Then increase the feather to have a smooth edges then mask it to see if the result is pleased you or not, If it so You can apply the layer mask.

I would use Transform > Warp for this.... To distort it to match the sail. Not Vanishing Point.

I think what you want to do is named layer masking Most simple way to do it is to press Option or alt on Windows between the layers and click on a parent layer.
**BE WARNED! YOU NEED PARENT LAYER TO BE TRANSPAARENT IT WILL ONLY DO MASK IT WHERE PIXELS EXIST. **
It's also old way to use instead of frames that you would mask with shape object underneath the picture you want to cut to shape.

Hi there! I was working along with @tardy stream on the first DCC of this bunch (Ribbon), and mine doesn't look as smooth as his. When I selected chunks of my rasterized text and moved them to new layers, you could see a weird edge on each selection. Is there some other setting I should be checking that would keep that from happening?

Ha, well that is actually one of the solutions I was going to suggest. In the stream, I believe I made duplicate copies of the AI mask image to remove some of those edges too. Glad you solved it! Sorry I didn't see your question until now. 🙂

Control is set to 'Pen Pressure' which won't work with a mouse.

You need a device that can track "pressure" so a mouse won't work. Do it in Illustrator and use a Stroke Profile that tapers the ends. :D

I have to say the DCC’s as of late have been leaving out a TON of steps or something… I’ve been with Adobe for 20 plus years and have never had as many issues with DCC’s until the last 2/3 rounds… it’s like they are being “thrown away” and details that are needed are just left to the wind… just my opinion… very aggravating and frustrating when steps are just “assumed”… 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

What I saw on YouTube video there is timestamp for chapters but the I do is inside this chapters I have now include the chapter fat text to my time code cursive text and finish Challenge 2 code (PS DCC 2023-1#2).
Maybe the Chapter timecode is enough if so thumb down other vice thumb up and I will do the timecoding but it take some time folks.

Not necessarily, depending on what type of perspective you use, in this case is important that there is not any parallax in the box, with other words opposite line shall be parallel. What I can see is the top and bottom off the box is not parallel and that make look weird.

I have Photoshop on my laptop and Photoshop on my iPad. I want to be able to use my iPad to hand letter, but a lot of the functions that I want to access are on the laptop version of Photoshop. During one fo the tutorials, I saw the instructor using her stylus on her laptop! I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get these to sync so that I can draw with my stylus and use my laptop functionality. Can someone please help me figure this out? I’m an iPad and Mac user. The stylus you mention is probably a Wacom tablet and not an iPad. The PS version for iPad is not the full version and doesn’t have nearly the same features as the desktop version. One way I’ve done what you mention is to save documents as cloud versions, then open them in my iPad to do lettering, etc. then save them again as a cloud doc. This way, the same PSD is visible/available for both systems.

I think this is something much easily done in illustrator.

You can do it using using Illustrator it's easy

Go to: Preferences > Performance > Check Graphics Processor Settings.
If it's disabled and you can't enable it, update you Graphics Driver.

1. First make a closed shape using pen tool
2. Delete closed shape side where you want to join
3. Use Pen tool to close shape.
4. Voila!

Check the right side of your filter gallery, do you see the effects stacked up on 1 another?

Now check it against the video you're following he's probably using only Photocopy, Charcoal, Graphic Pen, you seem to be using an extra effect "CHROME" - Try turning it off (EYE).

First need you to adjust the size of the tank so the proportions get right, then you need to refine your selections, only tank and person no shadows, , place the thank on a new layer and maybe flip the thank so the light on the tank is in same directions as background, then harmonize the colors to the background, make new shadows. I think that will do it.

Hello there, I'd like to learn more about smart objects in order to understand the logic. I'm in the process of resizing large photos to put on my website, but I don't want to ruin the quality. I did the resizing by embedding everything up until now, but I had to edit one picture, which changed from smart object to restoration. Will the quality be the same if I save those photos without converting them back to smart objects?

Actually, I've read that article before. However, I couldn't find anything about the quality. So, is that the same then? I thought since smart objects take the pixels as they are, the quality would be better than saving the image or graphic without putting them into smart objects first.

hi @past comet and @errant pewter I did a test of export a LUT, and i follow this help https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/export-color-lookup-tables.html .
I open a image as background layer, adjustment, I didn't save the image only the adjustment. I tested on a diffrent image and it worked OK! You can test this LUT made in version 24.6. This will do a sunset effect on the image a little reddish.
If I understand the help text above you must have your image as a background layer and export the LUT I did that without save the changes before and I didn't hide the image layer before I export the LUT

You can just take big canvas and put then together in Photoshop.

If you wish to go low on quality, then you can take smaller canvas.

Canvas is like image dimensions. 1920pixel by 1080pixel is size of a good quality clear image.

You can go higher if you wish to add many photos. And place them together.

While placing you can hold SHIFT key. So it sticks like magnet.

You will need to create a templete for all this.

i want to make this a solid colour fill type of image so its either black/white or empty. Whats the best way to select the colours (i dont want the detailed stuff e.g. the shadows and stuff)

I can't think of a super quick way to do it unless you can manage to use AI. I would use photoshop since the coins interact with a subject. This is what I would do: Take my coin or other object & duplicate horizontally across the board. Make sure your original object has whatever dimension, drop shadow, etc so you don't have to apply it to your individual copies. Make sure they're at different angles and perspectives that best match your piece, but keep them fairly random. Link and group them, then duplicate the lines vertically to fill the area. Staggering them helps. They don't need to be perfect. They can overlap, not be straight, random. Then find random coins/ objects you that you can bring to the front, push to the back, angle differently, etc to make it look more randomized. You can merge some coins that you don't want to move individually to reduce the amount of layers. I hope this helps a little!

Are you using AdobeRGB or sRGB? Are you including the color mode when you export or not? Or are you converting to sRGB when exporting?
I suggest you to make sure you use and export in the same color mode.
In case you didn't know, AdobeRGB allows you to "use" more colors, but sRGB is the color space used by the biggest part of screens (for example, our smartphones). You can actually use any of it, it's not a big deal, but the thing is you have to be sure that you're using the same mode from creation to export, otherwise it will change at some point.

This can also happen when you export in pdf, so always pay attention!

I couldn’t agree with you more, @lean sphinx! What happened to the community experts and/or hosts to give feedback? The participation in the challenges have dwindled to almost zero because (from my perspective) the feedback was the most important part of the challenges. There’s only one Discord that actually provides feedback on challenges and that’s only because of one or two creatives who consistently give critiques and offer suggestions and help.

It is a preview for the size you are placing the image as a smart object. It uses neirest neighbor resampling (a faster less accurate way to show the image) double-click the image, and it should display normally.

Even with a plugin, Photoshop isn't capable of doing this properly. ICO Format requires multiple images to be embedded into the file. If you truly want to make "real" multi-format icons (in .ico format), I would use Axialis Icon Workshop. Its a paid app but its probably the best for this.
