Getting off topic folks
Anyway, Echo, read or watch some beginner videos
I wouldn’t use Christian Hierarchy as a reference point for how Aasimar and the upper planes operate or appear like. Across many D&D settings celestials have had many different inspirations, Abrahamic religion is just one of them
I watched one
Can confirm as someone who does play
It didn't help much
Watch another one, or read or both
I'm watching videos and talking with y'all
christianity is not close to aasimars or celestial beings in dnd at all
And playing let's go pikachu (I can multitask okay)
Lets put lol somewhere else far away
Look
The Race/Species is like, Elf, or Dwarf, or Human, or Orc, or Goliath, or Tiefling.
In askaban
I want to rewatch xyz now
Bottom of the ocean in a metal coffin
And harry potter (before the cursed child and dumbledore secret ofc)
With concrete straps to it
Chamber of secrets in askaban in Gotham inside the sun's core?
lets just get back on topic
Me first! Is moonlord considered level 4 boss?
And I will reiterate because it seemed to get lost within the other discussion
Moonlord?
Now ummm what do I put for the goated rest of the stuff
Kinda want to put him in my session
Can I join (when I'm done)
Yes
That’s not an official creature, so you’ll have to homebrew it
Terraria moonlord
dont advertise for games here
A: What is moonlord
B: Are you DMing?
B2: If you are DMing, and are new, I recommend you try sticking to the base game rules and content for a bit to get your bearings and figure out how the game runs.
I'm not?
do that in the designated channels or in DMs
I mean, i not done anything so far on my homebrew, maybe mine will done when gta 6 releashed
Wish we still contacting til then
yes you are, asking to join a game is considered advertising for a game
The terraria final boss
😭 🙏 how????
Yup, as per the server rules soliciting and organizing games outside the lfg channels isn’t allowed
then how should we know what CR it is
Dam
Me and echo cooked chat
CR?
Oh, absolutely not level 4. Level 4 is the peak of "local town heroes fended off a pack of wolves and now a bandit group"
Challenge Rating
i know nothing abt terraria but a final boss is stronger than level 4
Cristiano Ronaldo
The how is due to advertising a game or the search for a game.
Space warping, teleporting, illusion, mind shattering attack and laser beam
I'm board and finding out how to work this sheet
Outerspace god also
Challenge Rating, the number that roughly measures a creature that’s a fair fight for 4 level X players
From stranger things?
So a CR4 is roughly a fair fight for 4 level 4 players, as an example
Idek
tier 4 is very high level
No, dnd vecna
Vecna is originally from D&D
dont play in tier 4 the first time
The show just used the name for their own purposes
please
closest DND thing I have beside my sheet is a MTG card
I mean, im just curious how much is a tier 4 is
Tier 4 is roughly levels 16-20
everything in D&D is going to involve some element of reading at one point or another: You will have to read the basic rules with intention to comprehend them, and eventually you will have to reread parts to refresh memory or otherwise find a specific rule.
First, a more comprehensive understanding of the basic rules is paramount to understand anything else that quickly arises when discussing D&D.
I know?
I'm watching videos instead
😁
I sometime forgor that there is useful cantrip instead of wasting my high level spells and stuff to solve puzzle
READ PEOPLE READ!
desk slam
I know what ummmm to put under name 😁
i wish i could put that boondock exocirsm meme in here
So a lot of features, a lot of expected items (including magic items). Challenging a Tier 4 party is tough, both in terms of raw stats and in encounter design
and in people understanding what is happening with all that stuff
Is tier 4 are acient dragons in skyrim level?
Then it is very hard
What's saving throws (stop yelling at me to read IM TRYING MY BRAIN DOESNT LIKE READING I LEARNT THAT A WHILE AGO I CANT FOCUS ON READING)
ancient dragons in dnd level
Those may be expected opponents, yeah
YOU HAVE TO AT SOME POINT
Damn.
I legit can only read a page per day
Ohhh what do I put?
Then put it on a ai voice
Let the clankers read for ya
It’s a reactive measure to minimise damage. Like dodging a fireball, resisting a mental attack or resisting the effects of poison
they meant a robot voice
A CLANKER
A saving throw, that is
What do I put?
Yes but a robot voice slowly explains things for u is better than reading (for you i guess)
The level progression is roughly divided into 4 tiers.
Levels 1 to 4 are "Local Heroes", like the talk of a town.
Levels 5 to 10 are "Heroes of the Realm", like beginning to look at big cults, or dragon attacks, or local national political resolution.
Levels 11 to 16 are "Masters of the Realm", and quickly gets into things like world-ending cults, large scale geopolitics.
Levels 17+ typically is when you are fighting the biggest of the bad, like ancient dragons, or whatever the DM cooks up with stuff like 'fragments of a demigod's mad psyche bleeding through reality' or whatever. Think "just below demigod", almost
The game caps at 20, where level 1 is adventurer's first goblin posing a possibility of death, and post-level-20 campaign resolution is stuff like "The cleric ascends to become an agent of their god" and "the fighter commands an army" and so on.
How do I do that 😁
Stop frying my brain
Your stat modifiers, and if you’re proficient in the save add 2 to that (assuming you’re level 1)
Google translate or a millions other website, let me try to find one
it's basically four quarters of 20.
So I put int then?
You add the proficiency to int and wisdom
I mean, put the text in modern ai like gpt or gemini and hold the message, then click read or voice
Hopes this help🙏
My chat gbt would say man this is to much I'm out
Echo
Slow down
What specifically are you looking at right now on the sheet
Saving throws
Saving throw modifiers I believe
I just wanted to post the monkey thinking meme...
I can elaborate further in #dm-discussion , Tier 4 is where players have consistent, powerful options. A lot of newer DMs put a blanket solution of just throwing higher CR monsters, buffing stats, or just putting absurd fights in (e.g. 5 ancient dragons at the same time). Arms racing leads to the TTRPG equivalent of artificial difficulty. It tends to make combat a boring “whack until dead.”
A more engaging and naturally challenging encounter will find ways to force players to make decisions, where playing dice-based whack a mole isn’t always the best solution
It was a gif
Even gifs
Dang okay
If it shows picture, only a singular frame
A saving throw is typically when an enemy, trap, or otherwise just the environment being dangerous, is being dangerous.
The easiest example is Fireball. If a character wants to avoid getting completely roasted by a blast of fire, it often calls for a Dexterity Saving Throw. More dexterous and agile characters will do better, clumsier characters will do worse.
Another example is Poison. When a Green dragon lets out their poison breath weapon, that would call for a Constitution saving throw. Sturdier characters stand a better chance to avoid getting completely wrecked by the poison, more fickle characters will easily suffer the worst of the damage.
Saving throw is basically "hey dogde this if you can! "
These are just examples and are not exhaustive
So what do I put? For buffs and what do I put down on it?
For Dex ones, yes. another example is dodging the ray of a Disintegrate spell, where in that case specifically, you either get hit and take a bunch of damage, or you save and do not suffer.
The rules would elaborate fully on the structure of each statistic and what their ramifications are.
The what spell......💀 🙏
Disintergrate
Please tell me I read that right
Yes, Disintegrate. There are also spells that do things like call in four meteors, or are literally just making a wish.
As in complete erasure
Ah yes Madara and jurachi
Less complete, more, making them not integral anymore, reducing them to a gray ash.
echo if you have to read and understand the intire of wish spells
You will black out pretty sure
Idk how to write intire sorry
Entire?
Let’s focus on the basics and not wish
Is DND basically final destination?
2500 words!
No
Im 990 words short
Phew
DnD is collectively sitting at a table while hallucinating a story, pretending to be fictional people and rolling dice
Saving throws are derived from Ability Modifiers (which are derived from Ability Scores), and 2/6 of the save types are boosted with your Proficiency Bonus (derived from Character Level), and which specific 2 they are is derived from your Class, of which a bunch of skill proficiencies and possible weapon/armor training comes from
So that rapidly devolves into one choice affecting two things maybe, etc. You can't just jump in at Saves. Slow down, try to comprehend things instead of speedrunning them. D&D is a game of rules that runs on human brains.
You can't quite play a game when the system it runs on doesn't have the data, can you?
You can just pull the link to the spell on D&DBeyond. Using Disintegrate for example:
Imagination is my graphic card
Yo my brain is MAKING ME AVOID READING THAT
Which is the issue. You will have to read. D&D is just a lot of words. It is books.
I wanna read I SWEAR
I think i should paste wish here and black you out
Thing thing come from stats. Let’s do stats first, so you can understand this thing
I did my stats 😄
Do you know the modifier of those stats?
How specifically did you determine what stats you got for your Ability Scores?
Standard array
Yes I did 2+ int and +1 wiz
Ok maybe not
That’s just from your background, that’s part of it
Ik
Let's step back again.
What is your ability score array?
I did the 15-8
Thats bonus stats
...
Alright. What stats/order did you put those in?
The 15-8 one is Standard Array
I remember that, you had an 11. Replace the 11 with 13
From memory they had
8,12,13,15,14, 10
Vegemite sucks ass
Broh
It's so bad tasting
And after your ability score improvements from sage?
+2 int and +1 wis
Istg i will make you read the entire twilight books in one go
Put that onto your stats
So:
8 strength, 12 Dex, 13 con, 17 int, 15 Wis, 10 charisma
?
I put it in the ovels
15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8
You assign those to ability scores
Then, you add your Background's bonus points.
One is your basic stats, then you add the extra background one in
Do I have to erase the 15 then
And you have your complete stats
Do you know their corresponding modifiers?
Yes
Name them
+2 to int and +1 to wis
Nope
15 int, 14 wis, 13 con, 12 dex, 10 cha, and 8 str?
Then +2 int makes Int 17, and +1 Cha makes 11 Cha.
So in classic order, we have...
8 str, 12 dex, 13 con, 17 int, 14 wis, 11 cha. Right?
Seems like the making of a Wizard, to me.
If you want to keep Wis that high I suggest swapping your con and Wis scores, so your +1 doesn’t “go to waste”
Wdym
Let’s not get to that rn, I feel like it’s gonna be confusing for them
Your con and wis equal if you do that
They are one, correct
Which is more balanced
Ability modifiers increase every 2 points into a score
But my plus one on con?
That’s your background bonus
Not your stat modifiers
12 is +1 modifier, 14 is +2 modifier, and so on.
So a 14->15 Wis will remain a +2,Wis mod
MY BRAIN HURTS
Yeah, this is the bonus to the Score, not the derived Modifier
Yup
A 13->14 Wis mod will increase a +1 mod to a +2 mod
Otherworldly patron boss can you seperate stat modifiers, stats and background stats?
I think im confused too
I'ma black out so bad
At the same time, by swapping your Con to 14 you will also have increased it to a +2 modifier (since it’s no longer 13)
Oh, so a stat that is 14 means it got +2?
Aight so:
STATS (ability scores) with their modifier next to them
8 (-1) strength, 12 (+1) Dex, 13 (+1) con, 17 (+3) int, 15 Wis (+2), 10 charisma (+0$
Your score is your stat, your modifier is how much that stat matters
I think I'ma pass out
Idk how to do it shorter than this 😭
Modifier is used when you do the specific action, which will be plus into the rolls you made
THEN WHAT DO I PUT THE IN THE OVELS
For example, you got +3, you roll 15 for fireball, the final you get is 18
How about we take a break for now, and get back to this later. We’re overwhelming them
I think?
The numbers in the brackets I put
That’s your modifier
Where do I put the background bonus?
The +2 +1 u said earlier
Put that somewhere later
Your stats are already down, those numbers are redundant
Does anti magic exist in DND?
If you have a 17 in your Intelligence that means you have a +3 Intelligence Modifier.
That modifier means whenever you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, that uses Intelligence, you're adding that +3 modifier to that roll, at base.
The second most powerful tier of spell has a spell that creates a small antimagic area following the caster.
So can I put that on a sword?
I dont think there is a anti magic spells that enchant your equiments
Awew
Ability Score: Your raw score for a stat, goes from 1-30, though most characters will only see a range from 8-20.
Ability Modifier: The bonus derived from a stat score that you apply to relevant d20 Tests that depend on that stat (e.g. Str saving throw depends on Str mod). Ranges from -5 to +10. Like before most characters will only see stat modifiers ranging from -1 to +5.
Background ASI A numerical bonus to 2 or 3 different ability scores. It can be either a +2 & +1 or 3 +1s. Different backgrounds will say what ability scores can be increased .
Sorry for taking long, slightly multitasking and on mobile
No. You cannot put an 8th level spell effect (one below 9th level, the absolute endgame, like wish or meteor swarm), on your sword, for free, at the start, by yourself.
Nah I'm watching black clover might as well ask LOL
Clutched again, thanks g
Very understandable
🙏
There is a black clover dnd module i guess
Blah blah blah
Back to numbers echo
Numbers are also not my specialty
Spells only do what they say they do. The spell Anti-Magic field does not say it can be cast on an item so it cannot.
That being said Anti-magic is a very broad concept so I encourage seeing if you can reflavor your abilities as “anti-magic”
Domain expansion?
Bro is pure imagination, but if you want to express your imagination in the form of DND in specific, you have to train your reading skill, focus spans and calculating
Dude....
Important clarifier:
Background increase is to the score, not the modifier directly.
Example: Someone wants to make a Wizard, who wants high intelligence to make their spells good.
They start by putting a 15 in their Intelligence score. That would normally provide a +2 modifier.
Their Background lets them add +2 to their Intelligence Score, so they do. Now their score of 17 provides a +3 modifier.
💔
Typically players put the total for each saving throw in the ovals underneath the main stat score. For example - if you have 15 STR, you would put +2 under it as a base saving throw bonus. If your class gives proficiency in a save, you would then increase that number by that. For example level 1 characters have a proficiency bonus of +2. If you were proficient in STR saves, you would put +4 in the little oval.
Typically there's a saving throw specific box, and modifiers/scores go right next to each other in the lineup of the 6 stats
Yeah I had to proofread to make sure I was writing score instead of modifier for the last bullet 😅
Btw how does my character hit? And what does the “hit” stands for in the sheet “hit “
/3d10/
and does it mean that when I hit an enemy I roll 3d10? And do I add 1d10 from the longsword?
So 4d10?
😭
To hit a creature with an attack roll you must take the attack action or a different action that involves an attack roll.
The 3d10 you’re referring to is your Hit Dice. I assume you’re a level 3 Fighter, Paladin, or Ranger. Those can be expended on a Short Rest to heal you for a roll of your hit die + your Con mod each (1d10 + Con). You get all expended hit die back on a long rest
If the attack is AC based, You roll to hit and you add modifiers. If you hit, you do damage
If you’re talking about hit die, it’s outlined above
Yeah I am asking IF I DO HIT…do
I add 3d10 and if I use the long sword do I add 1d10 to it so
4d10? To roll
Are the 3d10 hit dice? Cuz those aren’t damage related
to hit, you roll a d20+modifiers and compare it to an enemy Armor Class
No, the longsword description states it does 1d8/1d10 + Str mod for damage. Nothing about adding your hit dice to it
Yeah it’s says hit dice
And total is 3d10
the damage you do is dependant on the weapon. your hit dice do not impact damage
Yeah then it’s outlined
#dnd-newcomers message
No hit dice is smt else
I don’t understand….
Using 1d8 or 1d10 depends on if you’re 1 or 2 handing the longsword
I dont understand 2
a longsword damage is 1d8 or 1d10 (two handed)+ STR modifier
Okay give me like a min to type out this answer
hit dice are not super well named, they are related to your hit points, not your damage
For example, a barbarian at level four would have 4d12. They can then expend, say, 3 hit dice to heal 3 (d12+Constitution modifier) when they take a short rest. Long rests replenish half of your hit dice.
I DONT MEAN THAT I MEAN MY
HIT DICE ITS SAYS 3D10 so DO I ROLL 3D10 FOR DMG?? And do I add 1d10 from the sword (yes two hands)
Neither
you do not roll hit dice for damage
💔
I’ve explained what hit die do here:
Hit dice are dice you consume to heal yourself during a short rest
Nothing about the longsword item description states it uses hit die in its damage calculation. As such, you do not add your hit die to your damage
The amount is dependent on your level and the type of dice is determined by your class
Every dice you consume you heal 1(that dice)+ your constitution modifier
So what do I use to roll when hitting?
NO BRO WHEN I DID MAKE THE HIT
FOR DMG I TALK
This then
….
For longsword it’s 1d10 if you use both hands, and a d8 if it’s one hand
+your strength modifier
for your longsword you roll 1d10+STR for damage (two hands)
So….HOW DO I SEE PEOPLES DMG JUST MASSIVLY INCREASE ?? It dosent make sense
Hit dice is the dice that you consume upon using hit?

Heh?
A d20 plus the ability modifier for the attack (so STR mod for melee weapon), and if you are proficient with the weapon, your Proficiency Bonus as well.
If that total is equal to or better than target AC, you hit.
The weapon has a damage die. Roll that, add the same modifier you used for attack roll (so STR mod), that is your damage dealt on the attack.
That’s a complex question. Who are you seeing do massive damage?
some features can add damage, like rogue sneak attack or some feats etc. dont worry about it for now
You’ll figure that out once you learn optimisation (a longggh way away cuz you’re a beginner)
Extra features, spells, and maybe magic items. Complex for right now.
It’s dice you consume to heal during short rests
It could be that they have magic items, spells, more levels, homebrew, etc that pump up their damage
No I did play before did make dmg and yeah but I haven’t played for long and I got confused
We couldn’t guess without context
Thanks for clarifying
Hm, so you success on a hit, you get hit dice that you consume upon resting?
Wanna see my whole sheet?
no, hit dice have nothing to do with damage. they determine your max HP and you can spend them during a short rest to heal
No hit dice are restored on a long rest
Dm
An attack roll is a type of d20 test
Oh ok, so hit dice is determine by my hp, use when im resting to heal and restore upon long rest
Max hp i mean
the hit dice amount is determined by your level, and the dice determine your HP, but otherwise correct
To be specific, you really only expend hit die on a short rest. Since long rests restore you to max HP and restore expended hit die anyway
Yep that's it
Amout of hit dice : my level
1dx, x is determine by my max hp
Is this the one?
Ohhhh, yum.
I’ve send my sheet to you
I’ll take a look at it in a bit
Now i know why dnd newbie are overwhelmed but after they become oldbie they stays for long
It's the other way around I'm afraid. Your hit dice determine your max hp.
Every time you level up, you gain another hit dice depending on class.
Therefore, the amount of hit dice you have is always equal to your level.
Very cool game
so for example:
a level 3 fighter has 3d10 hit dice. a level 3 rogue has 3d8 hit dice, so it depends on class.
to heal during a short rest, you can spend any number of those dice, roll them and add your constitution modifier to each roll.
Dm
For example a 3rd level barbarian has 3d12.
3 because level 3.
D12 because barbarian gets d12s.
Ok? Level = amount, heals = class and max hp?
The amount of point on one dice to be specific
to determine your max HP, you take the maximum result of your level 1 hit die (fighter 1d10, so just a 10) and for later levels, you either roll the die on level up, or you take the average (rounded up). for a fighter that average of a d10 would be 6.
you also add you constitution modifier to each of those numbers
Ohhh! So hit dice increase my max hp upon level up?
so for example a level 3 fighter with average HP on level up and a +2 constitution modifier would have:
Level 1: 10+2 HP
Level 2: 6+2 HP
Level 3: 6+2 HP
for a total max HP of: 28
And about the short rest and heal, long rest to restore hit dice part?
That zodyl mention earlier
To follow up, your max HP is calculated as:
- At level 1, a max roll of your hit die + Con mod
- Every level thereafter, add either a roll of your hit die + Con mod or a flat number dependent on class + con mod.
As an example, a level 1 Fighter with 16 Con will have 13 Max HP (10+3). When they get to level 2 they can choose either to:
- Roll 1d10+3 for HP, resulting in a possible new max HP range of 17-26
- Take the flat value of 9 (6+3) resulting in a new max HP of 22
Did I make a war 🏌🏻
I LOVE HIT DICE RAHHH
I think you got that one already.
if you wanna short rest and heal with hit dice in my scenario with +2 con, you roll
1d10+2. and if you need more HP, then you can roll another, and another etc. unless you think your HP is enough or you run out of hit dice for the day
I level up! Lets either gamble for a possible higher max stats or stay average!

Gambling HP can be fun, though the flat value is statistically better
yeah it sucks to roll a 1 or 2 on level up
Oh! So you have a amount of hit dice and it increase when level up which you can use upon resting?
When you level up, you gain a Hit Die.
Gaining that extra Hit Die increases your Hit Point Maximum. (in ways people have since detailed)
That's the process
So a level 1 character has very little HP max, and only 1 hit die to use per day when short resting.
A level 5 character has gained an additional 4 levels worth of HP since then, but can now spend up to 5 hit dice over the course of their day to heal during Short Rests.
die is singular, dice is plural
Rolling a die vs rolling dice
Crazy
Thought it was typo or stuff, guess my english needs improvement if i want to play dnd
But yes, with the customary "hit dice doesn't equal my to hit roll / damage i do on hit?" part out of the way
What's next in the classroom?
And about the spells slot? Is it slot that you equip spells to use infinitely (forever spells that bound to you) or just singular use?
But yeah hopefully all of this has also demonstrated how asking specific questions nets specific clarifying answers
Very demonstrated fr
Think of it like
spell slots are Tickets to cast spells.
If you have the pass to go on the "I cast Burning Hands" ride, which costs a level 1 ticket, you can spend your tickets to go on that "I cast Burning Hands" ride as much as you want, until you run out of tickets for the day.
so for spell slots, think if them a coupons.
at level 1, a wizard/cleric/sorcerer etc got 2 coupons per day and can use it on a menu of spells they have prepared
Of course, this ignores extraneous circumstances, like extra casts granted by feats, species traits, or class features... Those will just do as they say, separately from the "Spell Slot Economy", alright?
The amounts of time you can cast a specific level of spells ?
If I have the "Burning Hands" and "Charm Person" spells on my list of "Spells I am allowed to cast because they are in my list of Prepared Spells"
Then I can spend my spell slots on casting those spells. If I run out of spell slots, I don't have the magic power to cast spells of that power anymore, until I regain the slots, typically by Resting.
Ahhh, you have your spells, you need spell slots to cast those spells?
right
but a spell slot can be used on any spell of that level that you have prepared
Damnn
Yep. Your list of spells is what you've got swirling around your head ready for the day, your Spell Slots are the packets of magic power and stamina you use to cast them.
Spell slot have different level too?
And the amount of spell slots decrease the higher the level of the spell?
you gain more spell slots, and higher level spell slots as you level up
Ok...
Yes, as you level up you gain additional levels of spell slots with their own count.
Let's look at a simple example, a 3rd level Wizard.
At level 3 Wizard, said Wizard will have Four Level 1 Spell Slots, and Two Level 2 Spell Slots.
(Yes, Spell Levels and Character/Class levels are not neck and neck).
So you level up, have extra spell slots and the spell slots level up aswell to cast better spell at higher levels
for example, a there are spells that require a level 3 spell slot minimum to cast (like the famous Fireball)
you need to have a level 3 spell slot or higher to cast that spell
Ohhh
but you could cast it with a 4th level slot too, and depending on the spell, it might even do more stuff
OH
higher level spell needs higher level spell slot that is obtained when i level up
yes
Ohhhh yes yes
A Spell Slot of X level can be used to cast a spell of X level or lower.
A Spell Slot of Level 2 can be used to cast a spell of Level 2 or lower (such as a Level 1 Spell)
Oh! I never thought of that
So if i have 2 level 2 spell slots i can just use 2 cantrips instead?
That is very versitile
cantrips are separate
The ball you shoot at the enemy can be loaded into a catapult sized for that or more oomph.
But you can't load a tank into a wrist-mounted slingshot, for example.
cantrips dont interact with spell slots, you can just cast them all day
Really?
Yeah Cantrips are separate.
Those are the spells so small and easy that your character can spam them for free.
Your basic Fire Bolt, the Wizard can fling those around all day every day, provided they... know that cantrip
But when it comes to the spell like "flamethrower out of my hands" being Burning Hands, that's limited via the spell slots they have, which can run out.
Cantrips = spamable
Leveled spells = limited
like in a shooter where the pistol gets infinite ammo but is kinda meh to actually fight with, but the proper guns have limited ammo supplies. Slightly similar principle.
If you're running low, or completely dry, you're not completely unable to do your spells/shooting anymore
Throw thy graduation cap 🎉
Got it, btw is there mana type of resource that limits your character spamming?
No, just spell slots
Hm, always thought there is one
So spamming is essential in dnd
Spell Slots "Are" your "Mana"
a cantrip is as spammable as a fighter can swing a sword
yeah spell slots are the closest equivalent to mana
think of them like prepackaged caches of mana. Instead of one big bar of... idk, 50 points. You have "This many of this power of spell, that many of that power of spell"
But in my logic, even small fire bolt consumes mana so eventually at one point you run out of mana
Maybe i need to change my fantasy mindset
well that is not how it works in dnd
There was a variant rule in the 2014 version of the rules called Spell Points, which was basically just a big pool of points you spent, basically just like a mana resource in other games. I don't think that made it to 2024 version, sadly.
But either way, we've just got Spell Slots, pre-rationed for ease of management, kinda.
and even that didnt affect cantrips
So in dnd, there is no flat number of resource that limits you but how much time you can cast it
Hm it is pretty cool i guess
My english is dog poo
as I said before, you dont have a pool of mana like in other games, you have a bunch of "coupons" of certain value
The resource that limits your spell casting is the amount of spell slots you have, but it’s not an all encompassing ‘bar’
Got it
Not really. They know the technique, it's such a small effort they can do it as endlessly as a fighter swinging their sword.
Of course, it's still an amount of effort that may interrupt a rest.
For example, imagine stepping out of bed and immediately trying to do advanced mathematics and actually solve it in a small time. That'll mess up your sleep real fast! Just like jumping out of bed and doing weapon practice.
🦅
Yes sir
Did the tickets/coupons analogy work?
Yes
But also, can you fight gods in dnd?
ehhhh, loaded question.
You can maybe sometimes fight aspects or avatars of gods...
Just searching around about Zhentarim, noticed they workship Bane and Cyric
Pretty cool gods
“You can certainly try”
Is my answer
Wanna challenge them
Really?
If the DM allows it
But the actual god themself would be beyond stats.
God killing is either
A: Out of the question
B: A level 17+ grand quest to get a God Killer macguffin to kill a god with
Like in the official you can trial gods?
Holy shiet
You can... try to kill the god.
Getting even remotely close to starting, reaching them, dealing any kind of damage to their deific power, or surviving them sending one of their agents to smite you, is another question.
Bane will one shot my party i guess but
Could i atleast meet them?
Meeting? Sure, visions of gods messaging a party member is often done in campaigns. Possible, but don't expect it guaranteed.
Like a Cleric of X god getting a vision going "Go, my agent. This cult has been annoying. Make them stop please. kthx bye"
Ts is so greek
I guess meeting bane is cool
He surely will smite me the moment we met
Not surely. They are a god, and have their worshippers. The issue is, Bane would be evil, and likely clash with the party's goals.
Yknow when Gollum was evil in LOTR and it caused all kinds of conflict all the way until he died? Yeah that's what it's like having an evil character in "The Magic Quest to do the Ultimate Good against the Bad Evil Guy we want to stop"
Bane is evil?
What about cyric?
also very evil
Idk about you but the name “Bane” doesn’t give me very positive vibes
Bane is the god of tyranny so yeah lol
Bane is literally ruin and death
I guess he evil
How evil are we talking?
Likewise Cyric is the god of lies, trickery, and strife
One of the "Dead Three" alongside Bhaal and Myrkul, the gods of Darkness, Murder, and Death, respectively
he murdered the goddess of magic for shits and giggles basically
Bro is all Zhentarim about shady black market, controband, thieves and evil gods ?
Thought zhentarim was cool
That's the neat part, Zhentarim is cool
zhentarim are basically the mafia but more hardcore
God of magic died?
Crazy
She’s died a lot
yeah it was a giant kerfuffle, she got better or something
☠️
Tf is Bhaal bro 😭 the grim reaper on steroids
I DO NOT wish to challenge gods
Bhaal is pretty one note. he just likes murder
Bhaal's guys often had a thing called "Aura of Murder" so yeah, not the most charitable guy
bhaal is neutral evil
Since you’re talking about challenging gods, and we’ve mentioned the FR goddess of magic, I think you’d enjoy to hear that the last time a mortal being tried to achieve godhood he did so by attempting to hijack the goddess of magic’s divinity. He failed (obviously) and now spells over 9th level are banned
I guess my web is outdated
Stupid ass
yeah they changed that between editions
well, there used to be spell like that
Good lore actually, wish it is more shocking like greek gods lore
Think of it this way... A contract killer may be evil, but they are lawful.
A Devil, also evil, literally a metaphysical embodiment of it. But also Lawful. Like, Devils and Demons are endlessly fighting a war in their planes, despite both being evil, because the Lawful hierarchy and promotion enjoying Devils cannot stand the absolute chaos of Demons, and vice versa.
Hm, so not mindless killing
Cool cool
there is is pretty shocking stuff in older lore, but the game always was sold to kids/teens too so there are limits and most tables dont want to go there
Guess it was raw back then
I remember when I found out how Hags reproduce 🥶
There is god of murder and god of death seperated?
Look, if you ever want to remember how bodged old D&D editions were, like the really old starting editions
AC was backwards.
Crazy, guess these 2 hang out all the time
One likes stabbing and killing, the other likes bones and death in general.
oh its a whole thing, the older god of death made a deal with 3 mortals, who all took up different aspects of his role
three one-third-gods making up the Dead Three
Is making yuno from black clover possible?
What are their powers?
There are some wind spells
Mb wind and star magic
Star magic? There is a star druid, so that would be the closest thing
Ah kk
Fair warning
One to one replicas are not common to be able to make, at all
Hello everyone, im new at D&D and tried making my first ever character. https://www.dndbeyond.com/sheet-pdfs/FakerRO5_155232866.pdf How does it look?
Looks good!
daft question but im beyond confused by this, ive heard ppl mention subclassing warlock with like sorcerer before, but when i look up warlock stuff since im tryna learn it i see ppl calling the patron a subclass or whatever, idk if thats just a genie thing or what, but can anyone help clear it up?
are you asking what a patron means?
A warlocks’ subclass is their patron
Same way a paladin’s subclass is their oath
If you made a deal with a fiend, you’re a fiend warlock
a patron is basically the person who gives the abilities to the player right?
The being yes
ah ok, ive been so confused bout it since ive heard some ppl saying like subclasses with sorcerer n whatnot but then all the vids i see say the patron, so i wasnt sure, thanks for that
Yo I'm still working on Merlin what's the next step?
Have ya figured out your modifiers?
Yes
Your saving throws?
Nope
Let’s see you’ve done:
stats
class
background
you have left:
skills
Spells
Initiative (it’s +1 btw)
~~Saving throws ~~
Backstory
Equipment
Put each saving throw with it’s corresponding modifier, and add 2 to the wisdom and intelligence ones
For simplicity’s sake I’m assuming lvl 1
I'm lvl 1 yes
Does this make sense?
So it's plus 5 saving throws? (Int)
Yes
See you’re getting it
Now put “+1” where it says initiative and “7” where it says “hit point maximum” and “30ft” where it says speed
Plus, I’m feeding you the answers instead of making you read it. That’s the best I can do
This stuff hurts my brain
Welp, as a person once said
“Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never -in no way, small or big, large or petty- never give in except to convictions of honour and” I just realised idk if you’re gonna read this far
Anyway, this
Do you see on your character sheet where it says “initiative”?
Il see
Put +1 in that box
Kk
water
Fire
Now do you see where it says “current hp” and “maximum hp” under that?
Put 7 for both
earth
IM TRYING TO FIND MY PENCIL
HURRY UP
Air
Ok no need to yell
Don’t spam caps on this server folks it messes up the text to speech a lot of people use
alright just popping in for my yearly discord chat check
yow!
oh sorry nugget :((
Sup
not much, resting a little after getting home
I got my pencil
i've come seeking dnd campaigns to join...
Your stat modifier for the respective stat
Check out #find-a-game
Okay like the exact number?
The modifier, not the score
Mb that's what I meny
Done
Also add a +2 for the wisdom one on top of your +2
So +4
On what?
Wisdom saving throw
thankies 🙏
Yes so +5 in total
That’s for your background
Your modifier is +2
(Cuz it’s 14+1, so you got 15 wisdom)
Which is a +2
a subclass is a specialisation within the class. multiclassing is picking levels in different classes instead of keeping it to just one class. not something that beginners should do btw.
How much should I make sure I learn about before I try to join/look for a game to join? I want to make sure that I'm not burdening anyone with having to teach me everything 😅
I recommend learning how to make a character, basic ability checks, modifiers, core gameplay, classes and combat.
Plus learning basic table manners
(E.g don’t interrupt someone when they’re roleplaying, really don’t interrupt them at all, communicate issues, don’t kill the DM, don’t annoy the DM, don’t eat other people’s dice without permission, by respectful of boundaries)
Sorry what is eating dice? I don't think I've ever heard of that haha, but no the rest I understand, I felt like that was guaranteed and necessary but it's good to know either way :) and I'll try learning those things first, thank you
Ohh I thought it was like stealing peoples dice and rolling with them instead of your own but that's much funnier
What's the best flavor of dice
Well don’t do that either
I gathered 😭
I like the apple flavour, a lot of people say grape but it’s too artificial tasting for me
Red apple tho, the green apple ones are hit or miss
Ohh I get that, honestly I'd probably like banana flavor dice, I hate real bananas but artificial banana flavor is all I look for when eating dice
Crunchy banananana
Crunchy grapes slap too
I've been watching a lot of d&d horror stories and it's giving me a lot of ideas as to how not to act, I genuinely don't understand how some people get away with some of the stuff they're doing, I could never
Crunchy grapes are scrumptious
by all means, crunchy fruits with large amount of juice is good
all of them
I ❤️ FRUITS
Making a warlock as my first character. Want recommended cantrips. Any I should specifically get or look out for?
Apart from eldritch blast, choose any you want
Eldritch blast is a must tho
Also, wondering if I have the stat spread right based on information gathered.
Went 11, 17, 15, 14, 13, 20 (with modifiers)
Is that rolled? What level is your character?
Rolled and lvl 1
I did it on dndbeyond
Pretty good, I’d just swap Dex and con
Thanks
Damn...
All the games posted are like midnight-4 am for me.
Anyone know where to find games for EU / UK?
If there's somewhere near you that sells dice they might have games going on in it
yeah, no such luck.
my region is quite D&D'less.
moreover the only groups that exist are private and invite only
Is there a general chat in this server cause I can't see one
dnd general chat: #dnd-discussion

Welcome! The best place to start is with the free Basic Rules, linked in the bot post above. As you're giving them a read, we'll be happy to answer any specific questions you have here in this chat.
are powers in dnd limited or can we make it whatever the heck we want
They're limited by your species, background, and class.
oh I see
You can check to see what each species/class does in the Basic Rules. They outline all their abilities.
bro making a character is like technology engineering 😭
Haha, it's not that hard if you take it step by step. Thankfully, there's a step-by-step guide right here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/br-2024/creating-a-character
why not 😭
Just 1 on 1
I'm lonely 😭
1 on 1 doesn't work, it gets boring way too quickly and it usually just can't work
Like at all
You need at least 4
1 DM and 3 players
^
You can't play with yourself either
You could run 1 player and 1 DM, just have some sidekicks for the player
But D&D definitely works best with at least few players
for sure
it definitely works
you can also absolutely play with yourself
is it the same as dnd with a table of people? no
I'll respect your opinion because you have Bat Ninja's version of Red Hood as your pfp
There's plenty of folks here. Do you feel like you have a good grasp of the game rules yet?
I know how it works but I haven't played with anyone
I always wanted to play with someone

If you feel like you have a good grasp of the Basic Rules, the next step is to find a game. You can get your search for a group started using the link above.
Yeah read the thing still don't get where I play with people
What if you don't want to DM and you just want to join and play
I can be DM or dp anything fine
Yea
You find a group and then that group gets together either in person or online. DnD is played in the imagination.
Oh real life
If you're looking to join a group, that link in the bot post will help.
Yeah I'm Gunna find another server where I can play with people in disccord
That's usually how people do it. Folks recruit using our #find-a-game channels, and then invite the accepted players to another server.
check out #find-a-game
Does literally no one exist in the UK 😭😭
not in the UK but im european
Are you by chance a DM looking for players
Please don’t solicit/organize games outside of the Looking For Game channels
It’s off topic here
Asking about a DND session is off topic in a server fully centered around DND?
You can find potential games in #looking-for-players and #looking-for-community
in this channel its off topic
Correct - it’s off topic outside of the LFG channels
Ok then
We've got specific channels for group finding and solicitation.
asking for games is in the designated channels
So I can freely ask in the #find-a-game without opening a ticket essentially
Also some games may be play by post (so text based games) and so timezones don’t really matter
No, but you can ask in the individual threads that other people have posted.
look through the game postings and respond in the game posts thread or direct message the poster to indicate your interest
The struggle is finding one that has a European timezone
Also check out Roll20 and Demiplane as they also have LFG tools
Are they other DND servers
nope, other websites
Ok
You can also check out this amazing search guide from server regular, iamrazorwing:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rjwuod1lNBM5n4X_TH2ZoqTULv53jWaVMXtrzKVboms/edit?tab=t.0
I kinda do though cause it's convenience that's the main thing
play by post is not at the same time
Again when you’re sending a text message (play by post) and no one needs to respond immediately, why does the time zone matter?
Imagine playing D&D via email - that’s how play by post games can be run
i like to use pigeon mail as an example
When it comes to actually playing a campaign, I don't want to be having to wake up at 3am BST to play with people who are playing at like 8pm EST
omfg
I don't get what's annoying about what I'm saying
in a play by post session, you do not do stuff at the same time
Jambo do you know what the term "asynchronous" means?
You don’t have to play D&D synchronously - there are folks who have played D &D by sending physical mail
someone makes a post, and anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 days later someone responds
Never heard that till right now my bro
I have never ever heard of DND being played that way
Obviously
Well now you have!
And you too could play D&D that way
its the exact opposite
I now understand everything you've been trying to tell me for the past 5 minutes
lmao
It's the way yous were wording it, it didn't make sense to me
what did you think was worded weird, for future reference
Everything, it didn't click in my head
Because I've only ever played in person with friends and never online I'm not used to hearing these different ways of playing (play by post as mentioned)
Well, part of joining the D&D discord server is learning new things. Hopefully it will be easier to explain next time, but regardless please let us know if you have any additional questions. We’re more than happy to help

@lavish kayak what is Roll20 or whatever it's called, I can't remember if you told me or not
its a vtt and lfg site (mostly a vtt)
yes
The thing to keep in mind about Roll20 and other VTTs like it is that they exist as a tool to help you play D&D online, but they aren’t a wholistic platform. You don’t just log in there and start playing. You need to find a group through other means, and set up your own communication and schedule with them.
Although for clarity, Roll20 does have forums and a function to raise games and browse those listed.
do yall think watching critical roll would be a good way for me to learn how to DM????
i imagine it could be for a visual learner. it depends on how you best learn
it can be in some ways, but i dont recommend it as a guide
ah okay. One thing i love about Critical Role is the roleplaying aspect
CR is a pretty unrealistic dnd game
but i think i would need to do better on combat and exploration
as in the voice acting, roleplay, matt mercer
because of the cast's performances? or are there other reasons, im curious. i havent seen CR myself
yes and no, it can teach you about a lot of the basic structure, but it can also warp your expectation of what a game typically will look like
bested again! i completely forgot Matt is essentially the patron deity to a dungeon master
its all way more over the top than a normal dnd game
Matt is da goat
i need to make a pact of the DM subclass now
make one for warlock and cleric
this very interesting to hear
mind you, critical role is a job
way more effort is put into it
plus, matt has a whole team of DMs helping him out
but yes, i second, omegon? is that your name? i cant read the font well. point is, its best to not set too high expectations when you do get to play
ohhh okay that makes sense now
CR is not fundamentally different to dnd homegames, but the cast being actors, filmed and making a living from it does change things
I guess now i just have to work on my knowledge in combat and exploration mechanics
i was caught off guard when i was asked about the mechanics of the spells, i was very brand new and still new to DMing
?phb
The Player's Handbook (PHB) is an official sourcebook containing the full core rules of the game. The book is everything a player needs to create heroic characters for Dungeons & Dragons the world’s greatest roleplaying game. Some of this content is available for free as a part of the Basic Rules. Learn more: https://dndbeyond.link/discordPHB
ye but its not a pdf i dont think lol
no its not, the phb is a book you can buy
imagine me 15 years ago
putting the forever into forever dm by not ever being a player 😤 /j
should i read phb first or dm book?
phb
alrighty then!
The best skill to learn as a new DM is how to quickly look stuff up. If a player starts talking about using a spell and you're unsure how it works, the best thing to get clarity with is the text of the actual spell itself.
"Well, let's see what Unseen Servant says..."
or, what i always do, ask that even though i already know it, while frantically thinking of an outcome when the wizard deletes my puzzle
one of the ways i learn about being a dm is that its good to know how to make crap up on the fly but im a horrible liar and lack imagination lol. also hard for me to do anything under pressure. sucks bad when i need to search up what poison does or something
i mean you arent lying
its your world, whatever you say is true is, in fact, the truth
Making stuff up on the fly should be your very last resort if there's a printed answer somewhere.
If you make up a rule once, your players will expect it to work every single time after that, especially if it's accidently broken in their favor. That's why it's more important to be able to find the info fast, rather than be willing to invent rules.

@timid locust thank youu
Does anyone have any advice on making animal characters? Ive been trying to fill out a character sheet on dnd beyond but it feels like its more geared to humanoid characters and i wanted advice on the stats like charisma dexterity and how to start/level them
thats because all dnd races are humanoids
(in the 2024 stuff we have so far)
Would it be classed as homebrew then and itd be something i have to discuss with a dm then?
yes
Okay thank you!
That's not technically true.
But there are certainly no Beast species.
There are numerous animal-inspired humanoids, though.
grung
- Aaracokra (Birds)
- Giff (Hippos)
- Hadozee (Monkeys)
- Harengon (Rabbits)
- Kenku (Birds)
- Leonin (Lions)
- Lizardfolk (Take a wild guess)
- Loxodon (Elephants)
- Owlin (Owls)
- Tabaxi (Cats)
- Thri-kreen (Insects)
- Tortle (Turtles)
Grung
Yeah, Grung are little froggies.
they are very dear to me
They're in a weird semi-official state, though.
Dragonborn and kobolds, if you count dragons as animal-like. Locathah or however you spell it are fishies.
Locathah are also semi-official, but yeah, if you want to be a fish.
There's also centaurs and minotaurs if you want a half-imal.
Shifters are very werewolf-inspired (but aren't limited to wolves).
Simic Hybrids, if you want to splice some animal genes into your humanoid self.
And satyrs are also hybrids.
are we including aasimar since they're celestial/angelic or not really? 🤔
I wouldn't consider them animal-like, no.
i love satyrs
Even though they've got wings. 😅
And yuan-ti as being snakey. Point being, lots of animal-adjacent options in D&D!
oh we're talking about animals my bad 😅 i thought we was talking about non-humanoids
animal-ish
You can also just take any other species and just describe them as an animal.
✨ The power of flavor. ✨
delicious
Flavor! cooking! yessss
My current character is rules-wise a Goliath, but in-game is a giant humanoid warthog.
PEAK????
Holy peak
Oooh, i was thinking of making a squirrel or another character that was a ferret but made a hybrid animal machine to ride around on which the party wouldnt know what the actual character was until later on and its great to have some references of other animals to go off!
He's a WAR cleric named THOG, because WARTHOG.
https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/131278578
ba dum tss 🥁
(I didn't realize until later that I'd accidentally built the Zelda 2 game over screen. 🙈)
Sorry, i shouldve been specific!
they are all humanoid in creature type right?
Yeah, no actual Beasts.
There are a few monstrosities as well
And one lone Ooze
I have a hard time illustrating humans and i know ill get better into a campaign if i can actually put my character to paper myself so these hybrids are really useful to learn about!

just so you know, CR is not an accurate representation of dnd
I recommend reading the bot post above, particularly the first few chapters of the Free Rules linked there, and ask any questions you might have here.
Alright then, I'll start right away

@worldly trail the free rules are linked above, read them and ask any questions you have
I don’t rly have any questions rn but thanks
i meant questions while reading
Relating to this, ive built an owlin character on dnd beyond but have put it under aaracokra, are they too different that ill need to alter the sheet or are they similar enough that it will work fine?
There's a lot of bird-people in this game
You got aaracokas, kenkus, and owlins
So I'm on to spells what would Merlin (7ds) use at level 1?
Not familiar with 7DS, so I suggest looking at the spells you can take and decide for yourself which ones might fit.
As a general guideline I recommend taking at least 1 offensive & 1 defensive/utility option per spell level
Okay
Awesome! I suggest making a practice character if you haven't already, then perhaps post it here or in #character-discussion if you'd like it reviewed.
Otherwise, if you wanted to jump straight into getting into a group, check out #find-a-game
Never realized how overpowered Monk + Fighter was
Usually Monk doesn't like to multiclass out, what combo did you find?
hello people im completely new to dnd and was wondering if their was anyone willing to help a new player get into their fist campaign or where to start
Welcome! I’d have a look at #learn-to-play as well as this channel’s pins, both of which have a bunch of useful newbie links including to the free Basic Rules. I suggest making a practice character as you flip through, since it often aids the learning process. The more you learn the easier it is to get into a table as well!
Don't feel pressured to memorize everything, take it at your own pace and focus on what you want to do (e.g. no need to read every spell description, or every classes' mechanics if you don't plan on playing one)
Also feel free to ask any specific questions you have here, we’re always happy to help! :)
If you're familiar with the rules already and/or just want to jump straight into group finding check out #find-a-game to learn how to use this server to find a group
thank you
I am DMing for the first time, i noticed my friend’s characters have mastery on some weapons at lvl 1, how do I turn this off?
What classes are they, and are you playing the 2014 5e ruleset or the 2024 5e ruleset?
Masteries are from 2024 edition, and generally the DM is the one to set what editions is used for the game
If it's 2024 rules, I believe the paladin should have weapon masteries
Is there a way to change this?
Play a class that doesn't get masteries or play the 2014 ruleset
Are you using Beyond or other VTT?
Dnd beyond
Check #ddb-support
Out of curiosity, is there a particular reason you don't want them to have weapon masteries?
Did you just mean to play with 2014 rules?
f your playing 2024 masteries basicly give you some addional feutures to utilize
We always played with normal 2014 rules, 2024 rules with weapon mastery are too overpowered, example is one feature on the great sword has glaze which allows them to still damage an open even if they miss a hit roll. They are too overpowered
Weapon masteries are op?
Rlly?
(they're not)
I really don’t think they are, but it’s your table so you do you. Just tell your players to make their character on the legacy rules
I can’t take a photo but this is what it saids:
“Graze: if you attack roll with a great sword misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack role. This damage is the same type deal by the great sword. The damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier” @topaz garnet @hearty blaze
Yeah, that's Graze. It's neat
Yes, graze certainly exists
Lol so they can do damage every time?!?
The campaign is too simple for that, seems cheap. So i will just ignore those features for now and next time keep 2014 rules
a literal graze, but yes. It isn't as groundbreaking as it may sound at first read - even a goblin survives, for example.
It basically just lets the character using that weapon contribute even if they miss, instead of ending up having done nothing
Your world, you do you. 2014 rules are fine
Yeah i’d rather them do nothing haha we have done that in the past… otherwise i would have to beef up the enemies to make it seem balanced
I do think you vastly overestimate weapon masteries if you think you'd have to beef up enemies
Weapon masteries are nice, sure, but they’re by no means overpowered. Idk if they’re even considered “strong”, and especially not Graze.
(Graze is a fairly weak one, which makes sense since it was given to two weapons that were kinda great in the first place)
Gooooood morning afternoon evening, RadiantCookie!
Feel free to ask thy questions
helo new here, dont know much dnd mechanics but i love the monsters and characters : D glad to be here
Wanna learn how to play : D?
I am kinda new to sense it has been awhile sense I played
i watch the deborah ann teaches jon berthal and i think its a nice game specially for imagination! sadly i dont have time to talk how to play : (, i watch from time to time some sessions of other people in youtube
Only played 2014 for like a 3 month and then no one wanted to join because the dm was being an @ss. Stupid teen stuff I never was part of.
what im interested in how like theres like idk you can almost be anything when i look at how u create ur character etc and variants of monsters or creatures are there 😄
nice, for me i havent really paid attention in the past since me n my homies more interested in computer games xD
Makes sense
Been 2 years sense then
when it comes to dnd games, ive watched other people play BG3 and im just running the idle champions game haha
Idle champions can get boring so I don’t play it much. And don’t have ps5 so I can’t play BG3. so I play Neverwinter when I get a chance.
yup, idle champions is quite boring after a while, i just play it to get new champs and i leave it again lol
i hope u get a group soon ^^
Me to I been waiting for a reply to my wanting dm channel chat thing
#looking-for-dm is what it is called
Honestly, you're better off reaching out to people who've posted in looking for players
If you just wait for people to come to you, your odds of finding a game are way lower
Poo
So I have to look at #looking-for-players
I mean, you could wait. It's just not great odds
That has so many people but no people so far that I know of that live in my time zone(pst)
There are significantly more people who want to play than DM, so the more proactive you can be, the better
Tbf I’d rather do in person
Don't look at the time zone. Look at the time. Matching time zones doesn't matter as long as the schedule works for you
🤨 Uhhhh, no
You have the subscription you could do it to yours. The shiny effect
What 😭
No I mean the year
Oh they have been on discord longer?
8 years
this isn't D&D or Newcomer-y and I think might be against discord TOS, so

i dont think its like okay by discord to transact accounts, no?

I was going to say that
Hm, let me read the tos. Will be back soon
dude's actually reading three miles of oh point five text to pull an "actually" /j
are there like monster manuals that i can browse? all i have seen are youtube vids explaining em xd
dndbeyond is the place where i bought mine. i think its the official dnd website, hosting all material you might need
Monsters filtered to Basic Rules for convenience
You kinda have to buy it
monster manual, monsters of the multiverse, player's handbook, dungeon master's guide, there's countless

oof, struggles of not being a native speaker. arent books rented at libraries? or are they sort of loaned or? i know in finnish its just "borrow"
i mean the word, i do imagine i know the mechanics
i think its borrow but im also not english
