If you change the payment method before it attempts the couple of times and then times out, the info Sabre gave is correct. once it attempts and fails, you would need to cancel and start again. 🙂

Hey, I'm trying to make some homebrew content, but the boxes to type in never load. It didn't have this problem yesterday but it is today. What can I do to fix this? Update: Every box of text on the website now says "Loading editor..." and never finishes loading. I have restarted the internet browser and it didn't help. If you added any Modifiers to the item, that’s probably the culprit.

This sounds like one you’d just put in the text description and set up the charges — no modifiers.

And note that homebrew edits can sometimes take up to 15 minutes before they show up on your character sheet.

You might have changed the Display Style. Open a book, open the menu (three dots) in the top right corner, select Display Settings, then look for Display Style at the bottom. You can select between Clean, Book, and Dark.

Yup i tried that. It works for the "book" but my understanding is that it should work for all three yes? I have used it with the Dark setting for a few months now and so just wanted to see if it was a bug. I tried to uninstall the books and re-download the ones i want and it still has the issue.

That suggests an issue on your browser that is blocking the text fields from loading. I'd suggest clearing your browser's cache and cookies and checking for any extensions that might be trying to change/access D&D Beyond's website and disabling/removing them.

You can, you need to go to the campaign in the app, and then select 'characters' at the top

On android, it's Gameplay > My Campaigns > Select campaign > Characters
From there you can see everyone in the campaign

From that screen you can see the previews of each character

If you're asking to see full character sheets, that's not something the app currently supports due to how the app works with data. It downloads everyone locally so it can be used offline.
If the app were to download not just your character sheet, but the sheet of every character you share a campaign with, that'd be very demanding on app data

Unfortunately no - Wizards of the Coast does not provide a license to purchase a physical book and get digital access at this time (and it gets very complicated because of physical retail and business agreements). That said you can use DDB's homebrew tools to recreate things on DDB for personal use as long as you don't publish it (make it available to everyone).

You can add a Modifier with Type: Bonus, Subtype: Unarmed Attacks, Fixed Value: 1 (or whatever the bonus amount is).

But there’s not a way to restrict it to Martial Arts ones.

Players adding their PB to hit is innate in weapons. You don't need to do that yourself. Whether or not they can add their PB is determined by what weapon type you choose as a base, and what proficiencies that player has.

You cannot add a player PB to a save DC for a magic item. That is not a mechanic that exists in 5e, so DDB does not have the infrastructure to do so in their homebrew tools

Anyone with a Master Tier subscription can enable content sharing for a campaign. It doesn’t have to be the DM.

And once it’s enabled, everyone’s purchased game content gets shared with everyone else, not just the DM’s or the subscriber’s.

Makes sense, but I can't necessarily rely on a player in every game after the 5th happening to have a master tier subscription to allow me to share my content with them. Like I said, as somebody who plays in a lot of games with a lot of folks, I'd be willing to pay for the privilege of being able to share my content with all of them. I understand why DNDB would want to limit it to avoid people subverting the paywall, but I'm explicitly saying it'd be nice to have a paid option or specific subscription tier as somebody who's expected to be bringing the books to all the games.

As-is, I've hit the limit and am now considering switching digital platforms because I think it'd end up being cheaper than purchasing the legendary bundle again.

Phone behavior has been strange for several days. First most of the minor icons disappeared - things like the New Post icon, the Thanks arrow, and every single icon for formatting in the reply editor. Cleared my cache on phone, those came back, then ten minutes later tops when I refreshed a page I got the "Loading Editor" thing and it hung, over and over again, until I cleared my cache a second time.

The forum software had always been super prone to annoying glitches and weirdness, but these are new and persistent. I don't normally use the site on mobile because mobile sucks, but for the last week and a half I've had little choice.

If clearing your cache resolves the issue, even temporarily, that suggests it might be a problem with the amount of temporary storage your phone has allocated to your browser app (and how much its used). It might be worth clearing the apps cached data if possible? I've not encountered the issue you've described myself on any of my mobile devices, so the most likely cause is device based

Okay so the problem appears to be you must use the DND Beyond Digital Dice in the Beyond 20 settings

That is a third party’s plugin that we do not support, correct. It can tend to cause a lot of issues with the site, so whenever you have a problem, turning off the extension to check is a good bet.

Well, i did, and it passed his inspection. but now i hvae no idea how to put it in dnd beyond so that its actually playable. it works on paper but i dont know the first thing about homebrew so im more looking for someone to walk through creation with me. You probably shouldn't be homebrewing when you're brand new to DnD

If it’s a revision of Way of the Four Elements, you should be able to select it as a template when you create your homebrew.

Then you can take a look at how they set the official one up and edit it as needed, or replicate it on your own subclass.

And honestly, that’s the best way to figure out the homebrew system: find an official feature that works like yours and steal its secrets.

Are you starting at 1st level? if so, then monks don't select the subclass until they reach level 3, so you have time. I'd also suggest not dabbling in homebrew straight away, using an existing subclass and perhaps just re-flavouring things can sometimes give the outcome you want.

Its a revision yes but its entirely different from the actual thing. same concept but thats where the similarities stop. its probably closer to a barb totem warrior than a monk class

Same thing goes, though: if Totem Warrior is close to what you need, you can make a homebrew copy of it and find out how it was set up.

Then you can set yours up the same way.

hello o/ so my player wants to take the interception fighting style from tasha's but it wont show up under fighting style option. I've bought the book and am sharing it with them using my master subscription and we have enabled optional class features. However its still not showing up. can anyone help explain why?

Did you just enable the martial versatility? The Character Builder can get a bit stuck sometimes. It normaly helps to use the character sheet button on the top right and go back into the character editor from there to update the whole thing and unlock some options that don't show up when updating things.

Add a Modifier with Type: Bonus, Subtype: Magic, Fixed Value: 2.

You could also select a longsword as a template when you create your homebrew. Then you can edit it as needed, or just see how it was set up to steal its secrets.

1. Do my players need a paid account to create a character in my campaign?

2. Is there a limit to the number of characters my players can create? It appears I have a limit of 6 characters myself, does my players characters count against this limit? Would I need to pay for a subscription for them to create their own characters?

They should each have their own account, and they can create up to six characters without paying for anything. All they need to have their character in the campaign is the join link you'll get when you create it.

You'll need to get the link from the web I believe, but unless you have content sharing enabled you wouldn't have anything to control. The controls that are there only prevents them from reading it, to help prevent people spoiling an adventure.

It is granular. I'd recommend the easiest path to see how it works is to just give a try.

Depends on what you mean by Share - the character sheet options will share (everything that you have) if sharing is enabled. The Controls allow you to block a player (who doesn't own or have access otherwise) from reading the digital "book" - the feature is mainly to allow DMs to block access from reading the adventure text.
