This is the system functioning correctly; magic items cannot be infused so if you choose to make an item as a magic item, it won't be a valid choice

Yeah, the lack of homebrew Adventuring Gear / Vehicles comes up as an issue regularly enough. The best workaround is to create a dummy object in your inventory to consume the Infusion slot and then simply make your own magic item to simulate the combined effects your item should have. It's tedious, but at least works.

If you want to denote that a mundane item is made of some special but non magical material, you can add that information via customisation directly on the sheet

Yeah that is what I am finding and I am seeing no way to mark something as Mundane as stated above. I love a lot of the simplified measures WoTC did with 5e but others, imo, such
as special alloy metals being classified as magical, was just trying to make everything as simple as possible and excessive.

You can customize an item in your inventory to mark it as special in whatever way you see fit. You don't have to create a homebrew item for that.

For instance, you could add Plate and then customize it to say "Master Crafted" or something if it's special in some way. If you want this to actually do something then you could manually modify the sheet however you need to.

No, because you're still using Adamantine Plate, which in 5e is a magic item. Just add regular, non-Adamantine plate to your inventory, then under Notes you can say "Adamantine" and ta-da, it behaves how you want.

Grappler is the only free feat in the Basic Rules. To be able to use non-basic rules and sources for feats, classes, races, spells, and items, you have to own the appropriate book (or resource) on D&D Beyond.

Fyi - character sheets have a white bar extending the scroll on the right side of the sheet. When the sidebar is closed the hidden elements css style 'display: none' is being overridden in the media query causing this.

We don't know the answer to (2) yet, but if they utilize the existing Legacy structure for DNDB then it should work if you enable Legacy content on the character sheet.

For (3), you can submit Feedback on the main Maps page which sends that feedback directly to the Maps developers. I recommend doing that.

Whenever you want to to learn how to do something in the DDB homebrew tools, the easiest way to do that will be to make a copy of something official that has a similar effect to what you want. In this case, Sea Elf is an example of a race with a swim speed equal to its walking speed, so you can make a copy of that to see how they do it

If you go to the “class specific spells option” which pre-tilers to a class you select from the website menu on safari/iphone, the “filter button disappears” after applying advance filters. If you went to all spells instead the purple button is visible.

Some ways you can adjust your initiative:

• Click on the text of the dexterity attribute and use the Other Modifier field to adjust the dexterity modifier (used to determine initiative)
• Create a feat or magic item and adjust the Modifier section to have a Bonus - Initiative -> Fixed Value and set that to 2 (for an example, see https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/5554585-shield-of-the-silver-dragon - need to own or have access to Curse of Strahd adventure)

So when making a custom race, I'm trying to have an option to choose between buffing 3 ability scores by 1 or buffing 2 by 1 and 2 respectively. But there isn't really an option to have that choice be in effect in the trait itself, from what I can tell. Does anyone know how to do that?

you need to give it a trait, and inside that trait give it 2 options: 1) increase 3 scores by one and 2) increase 1 score by two and 1 score by one. Inside each of the options, add a modifier: bonus - choose an ability score to increase by X

you give it three modifiers of increase by 1 for the three separate score increases, and two modifiers for the two, one that is increase by 1, one that is increase by 2

if you own any race that does what you are looking for, you can also just make a copy and peak under the hood

I know this probably isn’t directly what you’re looking for, but there currently exists a feat for this in Xanathar’s Guide to Everything called Dragon Hide, unless you’re trying to make a modified version of it?

Yeah, you'd want to add a Prerequisite to restrict the race.

And a Modifier to set the AC.

• Type: Set
• Subtype: Unarmored Armor Class
• Fixed Value: 3 (the 10+DEX gets added automatically)

but it also says that even tho it's a sorcerer subclass they can pick spells from dunamancy which i have no idea how to do

If those given spells follow the same pattern as official sorcerers, you should be able to just add them by name under Basic Information in “Additional Specific Spells”.

For the dunamancy spells, after you add a class feature, you should see an option called Expanded Spell List. Adding those spells there will make them eligible for selection as a normal sorcerer spell.

However, when I go to roll the dice it rolls every single die rather than just one of the sets of d4's. Here's a question: I'm running a tempest cleric in a campaign with a lot of homebrew flexibility - and the DM is allowing me to use alternative spells as my "Known Spells" - lightning lure, thunderous smite, thunder step, etc. I'm looking for a clean way to reflext this in DnDBeyond. I don't want to create copies of every spell as homebrew spells - but that's one option. Creating a feat would work -but if you specify the spells you want to add it gives them to you automatically without counting against the max number of spells you can prepare. Copying and modifying the Tempest subclass has the same issue - I can add "Extra spells", but they get prepared automatically. I want to fundamentally modify the list of cleric spells I can pick from. Is there an way to do that?

For clerics, any spells added there follow the rules for Domain Spells.

It's definitely not possible to add the save in a way that would show up under Actions. Things like that are typically only included in the item description.

I tried logging in from a secondary account, I even tried doing it in another different campaign, but it still doesn't enable the ability to share books to create a character.

Update: While I was taking screenshots to send a message to support from the web, the material that was not seen reappeared. It was probably a passing bug. I hope everything continues to work in order.

I have a level 6 Kensei Monk and I've chosen Revolver as one of his Kensei weapons, which grants me the weapon proficiency. Revolver **does **show up in the proficiency section, but it's **not **adding proficiency to my Revolver attacks. It should give a to-hit of +6 (3 Dex and 3 Prof), but I'm only getting +3. If I add Revolver as a custom proficiency it seems to work as expected.

One of my other Kensei weapons, Whip, seems to work correctly, however if I hover over the proficiency it looks like it's been granted three times (but that may be some quirk of the ddb system.

You’d just set the monster’s AC to 14.

If your character’s proficiency bonus changes, you’d edit the monster accordingly.

Unless you’re trying to publish this race to the global community, you can safely ignore those warnings. Your race is automatically shared with your campaigns and should work as-is.

But if you do want to resolve the warning, you could start by hitting the main save button to retrigger the validation. If the issue has been fixed, the warning should go away. If not, there’s still a problem.

In addition to actual non-English words, sometimes that one gets triggered if a description is missing or too short. I’d recommend checking that all your description are at least a sentence or two in length.

Okay things seem to be clearing up with DnDBeyond character sheets and tools.

Hello, I tried to purchase a Master sub, I paid via PayPal the sub started then an hour later I got a mail that the sub did not activate. No money was ever transferred. I tried again and it says the sub got activated but no money was taken from my account. I don't know what to do at this point.

It's prob going to be cancelled again.

Is PayPal not working for DnDB? I can use it for other stuff no problem.

The bonuses listed in the first image are for preordering all three books, which includes the PHB-specific bonuses shown in the second image.

So the 15 sets of digital dice listed in the first image includes the 12 listed in the second.

(Plus one for the DMG, one the MM, and one for getting all three books)

There is no option to put enhanced weapon for thunder gauntlets at level 9 of armorer artificer. What could be the workaround?

so i will get all 2 bonuses 1st from "full preorder" of all 3 books phys and digi and 2nd from the player handbook digi+phys if i only get the playerhandbook as mentioned in second screenshot?

No, if you get only the PHB, you’ll get only the PHB bonuses.

If you order any digital + physical bundle from dndstore.wizards.com you'll get two pre-order bonuses

• the digital book specific pre-order bonus (for example 12 dice and frames for PHB)
• the exclusive bundle pre-order bonus (golden anniversary dice, digital art book, digital mini)

So you can order them separately and get still get everything

Sorry if this has been asked already, but is Maps back up? I saw a message on the DDB website yesterday that certain tools weren't working but don't see it today.

I'm trying to set up Planescape on Maps, but it's not showing the maps even though I've most definitely purchased the sourcebook and had seen the maps on there before. It's also not giving me access to all the Planescape tokens either.

Just want to see if it's something I'm doing wrong or there's a bigger issue.

Inside the map browser, there’s the non-book maps on top, then sourcebooks, then adventure books.

Those two categories are normally expanded by default.

However, i have a level 6 artificer, so supposedly I know 6 infusions. I chose all of them in the character builder, but i can only see 4 of them in the character sheet of the app.

Your ISP could be messing with traffic specifically from D&D Beyond, or there could possibly be an issue with your local AWS/cloudflare node that serves DDB data to your region

Click on the existing thunder gauntlets attack, open the Customize section in the sidebar, and manually add the +1.

So I made a character in DNDBeyond, and at the end during "What's Next" it will both let you download the character PDF as well give you a link to the character PDF. However... that link to Character PDF... is blank

Not all PDF readers are created equal - try using Adobe Acrobat and see if it loads correctly with that.
