That's because they've filled in the "Override Score" boxes. Those boxes override your current score and change it to whatever number you put in there

I have never had that happen before, so I'm confused as to what could have caused it. Would a web extension like Beyond20 trigger that? Private was my first guess too. Iā€™d remove it from the campaign and have the owner readd it after. If it still causes issues, Iā€™d remove it from the campaign, tell the owner to copy the character, set it to public, and then add the copy to the campaign.

If that still causes problems Iā€™d probably ask them to take a screenshot of the various settings in the character to see whatā€™s off.

I can't get the following to work. I need a magical dagger that has +1 to hit and deals 1d6 acid damage. I already figured out that I cannot change the base dice for a weapon, so instead of a dagger, I created a handaxe, added the finesse property, and changed its damage type to acid. It says it's a handaxe, but that's fine. However, it's the +1 to hit that I cannot figure out. If I add a bonus -> melee weapon attack -> 1, then it adds +1 to all melee weapon attack rolls. If I add magic, it adds +1 to hit and +1 damage. I then tried adding a -1 acid (or slashing) damage modifier, but it isn't added (it appears on the weapon, but not on the damage roll). If I add -1 melee weapon damage, it applies to all melee weapons.

the easiest way I can think of doing this is to customize the weapon and add a -1 damage modifier after giving it to the player, but it's clunky

It isnā€™t exactly what you asked, but if you kept the damage at 1d4 and then gave it a +1 magic bonus it would statistically deal the same average damage.

1d4+1 averages at 3.5, which is what 1d6 averages to.

Sight of Gold (Level 6) : You can tell the worth of any item magical or not including what it does

Forbidden Fortune (Level 14) : You can duplicate your entire fortune through an hour long ritual creating magical coins of equal value however they disappear if the magic is ever dispelled (The max amount of magical coins that can exist at once is equal to your current real fortune)

I am having a problem with my campaign. I previously created several campaigns, and characters were able to join them with no problem. I decided to take an approach of making a new campaign page for each session, to see who would be playing. I deactivated the previous campaign. Now no characters can join any campaigns I create. I went back and reactivated the deactivated one, and removed all the characters that previously were part of it, but they still are unable to join any new campaign I create. Any ideas why this is happening?

They are telling me they are not able to join. All of the characters that were part of my previous campaign. I tried to create a new one, and they still can't. Characters I created have an option to join. What happened was, I deactivated a campaign that they were still active on, assuming it would deactivate the characters also. They couldn't join the new campaign I made, so I reactivated the old one, and removed the players, then deactivated again. Still, they cannot join. Tried multiple times, also a with a new campaign.

Ok, I may have figured it out. The players were deactivated from the last campaign, and the campaign was deactivated, but they were not "removed" from the campaign.

Any homebrew you make is automatically added to your personal collection and shared in your campaigns

Homebrew updates though may take 10-15 minutes to show up due to server caching so do note that any updates may take a bit before they show up.

Also you don't have to "publish" homebrew to make it usable in your games (see what I said about any homebrew you create gets added to your collection).

Publishing just makes it so the general community can see and use your homebrew in your games - please do not publish homebrew that is copies of not-SRD material.

Hey guys! Slight problem with my D&D Beyond subscription. I have an annual Hero subscription set to renew every September 20th or so. The issue is that earlier today my account claimed my subscription ended and restricted which characters I can use. Upon checking my subscription status on the app it says I am still subscribed. An important thing to note is that I do not currently have the money in my account to pay for a subscription if it were to come through but it has not reason to do so. Figured it out. To scale with character level, I had to check the box in the basic information. Then in scaling, I put in additional points. Then I put in the scaled count. So lvl 5 scale I put in 2d8. Itā€™s weird that it says additional when you have to put in the new dice total

is there any way for me to actually get this issue to go away while keeping the expanded spell list? This is annoying because every spell in the thing is in the BR except for one spell (Feign Death is PHB)
The expanded spell list is: Command, Hideous Laughter, Blindness/Deafness, Calm Emotions, Bestow Curse, Feign Death, Compulsion, Confusion, Contagion, Geas (and Remove Curse as a level 6 feature)
all of which are BR or PHB

sadly, I asked about this a while back and at the time the answer I got was something like
when they made that feat, the system didn't support nested dropdowns that went further than that goes, so you just have to manually keep track of it
If your character has proficiency in any martial weapon though, you can take the Martial Adept feat instead of Fighting Initiate: Superior Technique. You'll get two maneuvers and it gives you dropdowns to pick them

The last time they were played, the feat choice if your backgroudn didn't grant one wasn't there. I can (from my desktop machine; not from my phone) get to "manage feats" and choose Skilled. A bunch of monsters are not visible in the encounter builder/combat tracker. Shows the blurred example stat block with the market place link.

Accounts entitlements in sync, no extensions.

If it helps it looks like their isReleased flag on the monsters that triggers this is set incorrectly on my account at least (I own/claimed all the below). That or maybe it's the accessType 4 - which shows as NoAccess on monsters that don't work. Others that work show 2 as Owned.

That message that normally pops up saying to select 6 characters (the rest deactivate) when you lose your sub is showing. My players have no problems accessing their characters. I am a subscriber and my subscription is still going.

I have tried many things alreasy: Deleting cookies, triying a different browser, login in and out, changing login from twitch to google etc. Nothing works

Hey folks, there's every possibility I'm being dumb, but am I able to restrict access to specific homebrew items I've created for my players in a campaign? For example, I'm trying to get ahead on prep in terms of some items and I don't want players to be able to find it, or working with one specific player to help put a background together for their character that only they should be able to select.

You can't lock it down in the character sheet builder other than telling your players what is and isn't allowed.
Another option is you creating the character's yourself for the DnDBeyond campaign and players joining that campaign can claim a character.

Another option might be removing it from your collection after adding it to the character you want to have it. It will stay in your creations but iirc only things in your collection show up as usable when searching.

That's likely because you're using the chrome desktop browser on a tablet; on desktop clicking that button attempts to open a sign in pop up, but that won't work on mobile devices

How do you make an ASI where you can choose one ability score to add 2 and one where it adds 1 to a DIFFERENT score? When trying to choose ability scores, I can add the same one in both...
And also also, if anyone has any idea how to limit 2 actions in the same racial trait on one Long Rest, I would really appreciate it

You would put that in the description or snippet of the action.

Then you would just program in the limited use data

For that Iā€™d suggest adding a third Action solely to track the limited use.

Is there a way to filter by tags you add (or are already added to if theyā€™re official) creatures? This has come up multiple times when trying to use the encounter builder and Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™m doing something wrong or it just doesnā€™t exist.

I tried that they said they forwarded it to the team and to watch the changelog. I suspect others will get the same response - not sure it's worth flooding them with tickets about the issue.

Please don't flood them with tickets! At least they are aware of the issue and looking into it.

Like it's okay if each user that is impacted sends a ticket in as that can give them info about how widespread the issue is.

But individual users sending multiple tickets in over the same issue - that's not helpful for them or the user (adding a new ticket bumps you down the queue).

Hello! relatively new to this discord, but overall I need some help troubleshooting for dnd beyond. Basically for some reason when I use my computer to view my characters, view a single sheet, or try to create a character the screen is just blank white like itā€™s loading but overall never loads. I thought the server might have been down or something and itā€™s like a week and itā€™s still not working I can still seemingly use it on my phone, but using dnd beyond on your phone is much harder. I have tried a forum post but with no response and have also tried clearing all my caches, turning the wi fi router on and off, restarting the computer, and logging out and logging back in. I have a game coming up soon with some friends and while mobile will somewhat suffice it makes dealing with my character sheet much more of a hassle, any ideas on how I can fix this issue?

Once you've got the class feature itself created, I think the only thing I'd do is add an Action.

No idea - depends on all sorts of factors that we moderators don't know about. Tickets are answered in the order they are recieved and as mentioned previously, adding another ticket just bumps you down the queue. As it's headed into the weekend in the US, you likely won't hear anything until next week.

Iā€™ve found for the many times Iā€™ve submitted tickets that itā€™s typically within 48-72 hours, but can sometimes be a bit longer. Be patient and donā€™t submit duplicate tickets or you kick yourself to the back of the queue.

Speaking of extremely old issues earlier today is there any chance the books being extremely dark and weird looking for some people is being worked on? Thereā€™s multiple posts about it with many people talking about being affected. Iā€™ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it eventually happens again and wastes my time trying that. Since thereā€™s no backup function for your bookmarks it really sets you back personally if you have a lot of those made. I did create a ticket with one of the worst experiences Iā€™ve ever had from a support worker and they didnā€™t know anything I was saying and didnā€™t pay attention when Iā€™d already provided what theyā€™d asked for then they gave up and said theyā€™d forward it to the team. This has been going on for over a year for me Iā€™m not sure if thereā€™s others whoā€™ve had it longer.
