why would there be a 2 minute cooldown in this channel? that prevents getting proper assistance when you need to have a faster conversation during active assistance. This needs to be lessened if any at all. 30 seconds would keep from spam but still allow people to get and provide information for assistance when actively working on things.

I am not a mod here, but I'm going to say some things they probably can't due to their agreement with Hasbro. The site has been in steady decline since the Hasbro purchase. We used to enjoy regular site updates and clear communication from the site development team. That has all but disappeared. My best guess is that Hasbro has gutted the IT team and a skeleton crew of poorly paid and overworked devs are frantically trying to figure out the issue while the company tells its paying customers nothing.

Hasbro has not given the moderators here or on the site adequate information to answer our questions. Hasbro has hung them out to dry. Don't pester them - they are doing what they can. They are just as much victims as we are.

So one thing I noticed as things went down the toilet is that often when I’d end up getting a 503 error or other errors I first saw chrome saying ot was waiting on clarity.ms - this is an analytics package and is known for causing a lot of latency - which can be horrific when you have multiple systems/apis calling into each other expecting responsiveness. I don’t know if that’s a cause, if clarity.ms was used before these issues arose, or what, but it’s a possible datapoint I guess

Can anyone help. I'm trying to put a homebrew subclass into DDB for the first time and I've run into a problem implementing the very first feature.
It's a Draconic Blood Hunter order and the first feature is almost identical to the Draconic Ancestry feature of Sorcerer's Draconic Bloodline subclass in that you must choose a dragon type.
I've created the feature in the exact way that Draconic Ancestry is made, with 10 class feature options, one for each dragon type.
BUT, with mine, all 10 options then show up listed in the subclass description. Whereas in the Draconic Bloodline subclass, they do not. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Sunsword is only in CoS, so if you don't own that book it won't show up. That said, it's mechanically a sun blade with sentience, so if you have the DMG you can add the sun blade to your inventory instead.

Hi all, I just bought Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse as source in DnD Beyond. I created a new campaign and shared my content with other players. I asked them to use "Noncore D&D Content" for their characters, but the book is still not showing when they filter for a race. Am I doing something wrong? When I make an unassigned character myself, the book is showing to me.

Make sure your players create their characters inside the campaign where you enabled content sharing. And sometimes it takes a moment to synchronize entitlements for shared content. Under the marketplace in account management your players can check if their entitlements are in sync and if they aren't they can sync them manualy there as well

They need to do more than just join the campaign, they need to be either editing a character already in the campaign, or when they follow the invite link, selecting the option to make a new character (which will create a character directly within the campaign and will have access to all content sharing options)

Hey I'm trying to implement A New Concept into a Homebrew I'm working on but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do so. It's basically that that different characters or creatures for my campaign will have elemental powers which are separate from their race and class features but still Level Up along with their character the high level of your character the more abilities you have with your element.
The way I want this to work is that it's sort of like a class but you still get your normal class with it so wouldn't take up your village you pick another class it's something different than a class. And because of how weird the concept is I don't know how to properly do a custom Homebrew implication for it in dnd Beyond

Found a bug that needs resolving in the cleric spell list: 5th level spell Dawn appears twice and one is always prepared over preparing spells for the day. I can't seem to unprepare it. When you click unprepare on the second one, it unprepare's the option above it and when you refresh the page it goes back to being prepared.

EDIT: This is on a cleric high elven cleric of the Grave Domain in case its a weird bug that only appears there

I have a question about the Homebrew functionality on DNDBeyond. I'd like to make a cursed homebrew item, but not have the curse itself or the related details appear to everybody on the item details page. The only way I see to do that is to create two separate items, one without the curse information and one with, then remove the cursed item from my collection so my players won't see it when they search for it.

Is there a better way to do this?

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some help designing an attack for a homebrew race in my campaign.

It's supposed to be a tail sting that if it hits the target deals additional poison damage and applies the poisoned status effect. The melee attack uses STR, but I wanted the DC for the poison to be 10+CON. RN, the attack sets the DC as 10+STR. It's also supposed to be a Reach weapon, but I don't know how to add that as a quality so that the range reads correctly on the character sheet.

They will just tell you to clear your cache again mate even though you do it every 5 minutes.
I have traced the packet loss back to their terminating IP aka Server / ISP / host / VPN w/e you want to call it but because its a load issue and not affecting everyone and only a bulk of people at once and after a few moments the bottleneck resolves your just going to get told to wait and refresh in 5 mins which will likely work.
Clearing your cookies and cache and signing back in etc is just a placebo, you can go make a coffee or take a brisk walk to the mailbox both with also resolve it for you.

I have had no issues. I've cleared cache only once since this problem started. I've had solid access since. Don't think it's a placebo in any sense. Def seems like a bunch of folks at a time though it's not a widespread outage like it was last week. In DnD Beyond, for my character sheet, is there a way to change the additional spells I receive from my Sorcerer's origin? For example Clockwork Soul Sorcerer's can change the additional spells they get from their Clockwork Magic as they level, but I don't see a way to change that in DnD Beyond.

In the right panel that appears, it only lists the spells from classes, but not feats, races, etc. Unless I am missing it... You can however make a custom action that has the damage dice you want, in this case, I need this thing to do 7d8 damage. However, if I use custom action, I can't benefit from the artificer infusions (+2 to hit)... so I would try to up to hit modifier and damage modifier manually except I can't change the to hit modifier on the custom action

How do I up the to hit modifier on a custom action..??? This is really frustrating I'd appreciate any help 🙏

Why? that would just double the damage modifier at that rate. I guarantee that it is already getting applied to the base damage die, not the bonus one, unless you added some strange other modifier. Here's an example that I just made that does exactly what I described

Best general advice is to make a homebrew copy of an official subclass that does what you want. Then you can peek inside and see how it was set up — steal its secrets. 🤫

I had done all the things of clear caches, restarting the device, different browsers and different devices, to no long term fix. What did work was turning off nord vpn, it has gone from crashing extremely frequently for 2 weeks to suddenly working completely fine without any errors.

it doesn't turn it off per se. If you have unarmored defense and try to wear armor it just won't apply that AC. Similar to how a Barbarian can't really gain extra AC from leather armor.

I'm having problems being able to edit a player's character sheet in a campaign. I have access to the other sheets, just not this one. When I click edit in the campaign, it takes me to the character's Home tab with descriptions on Creating a Character, Character Level, and Preferences (all the other tabs have explanations instead of edits). When I click edit from the character sheet, it takes me to the edits for the Class tab. If I navigate to another page, it goes back to descriptions, including when I go back to the Class tab.

It could be that content sharing is being turned on and off without you knowing. Additionally you may want to confirm that your entitlements are in sync. I've seen my profile go out of sync when i restart due to updates.

There is also a setting that allows someone to share for character creation and encounters, but it doesn’t allow you to see like stat blocks or just read the adventures on the site. I do this (as DM) so my folks have full access for characters but aren’t tempted to “read ahead” in the adventure

All weapons are either martial or simple, so once you’ve got those proficiencies, it doesn’t show any individual weapons any more. As long as it’s actually adding the proficiency bonus, you should be fine.

Not all modifiers work with all homebrew types, and I don’t think feats work with items. The easiest solution would be to just manually assign the feat on their character sheet. (Go to Features & Traits -> Manage Feats.)

That's usually caused by something local. Check to make sure you've got pop-ups and third-party cookies enabled for the browser, and try disabling all your extensions for a moment (ad blockers, etc.).

I think the problem may have happened when I tried to sign in with my son's laptop. I resolved by following these steps.

Then cleared devices and re-logged. There was a prompt to allow cookies however and I accepted. So maybe your advice was actually what fixed. I'm not great with this stuff. Just happy I have it back. Thanks for all your help
