@wanton copper, I like that you asked the players about their thoughts👍 and I say no to the auction of Harrison and Burnham. It'll only help spenders and whales. Perhaps do a "unknown think game" (don't remember their name) where you get a question and alternatives. The event still gives Harrison and Burnham shards. To make it harder, give harder tasks. Perhaps to a lvl 30: 1. 30 mine 300k green data. 2. Kill 25 lvl 36s. 3. Mine 20k ore. 4. Kill 50 swarms. You get the point. At the end you find a bunch of shards.

Or run something completely different. Perhaps return of the borg. But there I say "give more directives.

PS: regarding making harder tasks, let us know we are on the right way before I mine 300k data. Perhaps give a point at 1 data

@wanton copper I do not mind auction whether it happens or not, but I would prefer if it was not yet again just material spend auction. We just had this for Tendi a few days back. And week before that during the arc, as SMS/SLB for meta event. This would be third in 3 weeks and if patterns from previous arcs stay same, we will have another material spend auction a week after the Harrison auction as first auction inside the arc. That would make it 4 in a row.
Please consider adding some variety to this. Auction are for spenders mainly, but they can as well spend on officer xp / ship xp (latinum) packs for Domination event, or ultra recruit packs for Ultra recruit token spend SLB.

@wanton copper this has been complained about so much, that it feels like we are broken records. when doing the eclipse armadas for this event, they are not spawning fast enough. and even when they do spawn, two or three alliances are starting the same armadas within two seconds of each other only wasting directives. this is absolutely frustrating and scopely always ignoring this really is very terrible.

Just another voice to add to the pile here - some nights my server has very active Eclipse nights. Armadas spawn one after the other and we're really only competing for the epics. Today is just ghastly. I can't believe I'm marching closer to death staring at blank pixels for 10+ minutes at a time waiting for something that doesn't come. And when it does, I better be able to target the right thing and smash the button before a dozen others do.

Most of the time the 'are you sure message' pops, but having seen some targets with 3+ armadas 1s apart, not everyone gets so lucky.

I'd love the chance to get the Opus Grande at some point because so few opportunities show, but nope, won't this month or the next or the next at this rate. Please revisit the algorithms that run the spawn timers.

Depends on the players in the alliance and the level on the server. If you're in a fairly young server it's basically mathematically impossible for any alliance to complete the event.

Apex is a very old event. It doesn’t get many complaints for having a hard AMS.

I hate the Elite Outlaw event SO MUCH. It has to be the most brutally soul-crushing event in the game. It's all but hopeless when you're sitting watching for armadas to spawn, and they spawn with armadas already on them with five seconds off the clock already. You click on an armnada to start it the moment it appears on your screen and you're already second.

You looked away from your screen for a second? You missed an armada.

Your phone rang? You missed an armada.

This is a game that we're theoretically playing for fun. (Well, except for the people who play it to stomp on other people's faces from the safety of Internet anonymity.) And this event just is not fun.

Why were the average respawn times increased for all eclipse space, especially during an event? I have literally seen multiple systems sitting complete devoid of any armada targets for almost 15min. You can't say that's just event traffic?

My hypotheses is that Scopley is hard up for money. So they're purposely trying to get away with broken events and making them non-passable so they can get us to spend rss, directives and such. This way they can milk us later on microtransactions.

IDK. There was a Transformers game I use to play by DeNA. After a few months of crap events and things becoming broken and unbalance, I did some sleuthing and found out that the contact for the IP was expiring. Hasbro was leaning on not renewing the contract. So when I posted my findings and also shared it with Google/Apple that the company knew the game was dead in a 4/5 months and they were still charging people for things....

Well needless to say, there was an announcement that the game was ending in a month and energy, repairs and such were all free for the last 30 days. Thinking I might have to do some homework if Scopley continues to drop the ball.

You would be surprised. A contract could for a IP can be expired and the game still be allowed to operate, if negotiations are ongoing and the IP holder thinks something could be worked out.

Normally there's a time frame of 30 - 90 days after a contract is expired that things have to be shut down if talks aren't going to continue and/or the contract not being renewed.

I've only played the game for about a year, and seen ups and downs. And it does seem more like incompetency right now.

No doubt profit margin is a driving factor, problem is in gaming that's a dangerous push, the next company is out there with something just as good at a better price point. Got to walk that fine line between profit and customer satisfaction, and the last few months scopely customer satisfaction is dropping.

For this Syndicate Advancement I was OPs 32 but also Syndicate level 10. I was only able to gain 3500 points of 11000 points gaining syndicate reputation every day. Either the point scaling was off or my OPs level messed up the needed points. Either way I don't like it.

The most surprising to me was when one person ended up short for a 2nd prime because he didn't know he had to do enough efficiency research first. It was only one ore, but enough to be the difference for that unlock. CS gave him that missing ore so they have considerable power and leeway beyond just making it right.

My Admiral's feedback from the latest event:

1. Spawn rates need increased for Armadas during Events. Staring at a screen for 3-5 min for a rare and 15 min for a Epic to spawn so I can use my starts is not only discouraging for the player, but it has to be hurting Scopley financially since why would people buy starts if they can't use them?
2. Once people have the Stella Skin, they no longer have an event. Please have some sort of SMS or ALB to keep those players engaged. Half my alliance got bored after a few armadas and stopped showing because they had no event to engage them.
3. Please add the ability for the armada starter to exclude players. Starring people in is nice, but it would also be nice to be able to exclude someone not wanted in the armada if someone is arriving last second and there won't be time to star them in. This is an issue during this skin event as lower level players are trying to place and jump from armada to armada and those that have the skin sometimes try and get rss while we're holding a spot open.

Give a store action or Transpoder Patterns for officers that given in past and now there is almost no possibility to get/upgrade it, if started playing later. For example 3/11 or TNG that some people started playing later and lost the rhe opportunity to get it

Oh I know, and usually a threatening pm goes a long way, but it's a functionality fix that gives the starter control over their armada and it shouldn't be hard to implement.

The ship skins or any one time earned rewards should be separate stand alone events. And once someone has it they don’t count towards future runs of that event.

The functionality exists to do it. They can filter the store based on what you already own/purchased.

Why? The exchange armada systems are already full with everyone doing the SLB for opus grande with the way it’s set up it should in theory reduce it with every run of Apex. Is it noticeable no not really but is it better than everyone on a server having an SLB to do there. Yes. It gives priority to those needing skin shards

When you have 90 active members and 5 or 6 active armadas at a time the unhelpful and completely lacking AC communication system is a problem for coordinating something in the short amount of time given. A simple exclusion button for the starter is a much simpler solution.

But if kicking people when they unknowingly mess up is how people want to run their alliances, thats on them. Im just suggesting a simple button in the feedback section of this forum as a way of making the event run smoother for those participating.

If it works that way for that event then great but I’ve seen other events which give one time rewards such as avatars and frames where people who already have them and are displaying them are competing and holding higher spots if not top spots in the leaderboard.

In my alliance, first 4 (or 5 if ACC>38) to call it in alliance chat get the places. Person running armada stars them in. If someone turns up and kicks an unstarred person out they are generally named and shamed…

I am very sceptical that the people turning up to your armadas are doing so unawares that they are taking someone else’s place.

It happens occasionally and we talk to them about their lack of teamwork. But more often than not with 5 or 6 armadas running at a time its usually confusion as to who called where. Or messages are out of order or they just go to the wrong purple flag. Chaos abounds especially as there are 3 languages in our alliance. Lol We've tried implementing plans of calling names, only running one a min, not calling another until the others are full etc, but with 92 cats to herd it devolves pretty quickly. Thats why I like the idea of a simple functionality button, no different than the idea behind the star in button. To make the armada starter in control of who is in the armada they run.

If you really have 92 members and a couple are causing trouble I would see no issue to throw a couple out that are causing trouble. The rest will learn and if they don’t you could always thin the rabble out and put in more quality players

Our alliance adopted an approach to form alliance teams that exist until disbanded. Each arma team is identified by icons e.g. 🌲. All chat messages related to that armada team are prefixed with 🌲. That way you can ignore everything else thats going on

If we have party crashers they get a warning and if they dont learn they are kicked from the alliance

I think that sentiment is coming from the fact that this event is pretty much a re-skinned Domination event, and officer XP is always a part of Domination. @storm ridge literally made a video about this exact issue.

If they are going to just copy/pasta and re-skin events, then they need to quit cherry picking the conditions of the event.

If the scoring was going to be like it is, officer xp would be too easy for literally 1/3 of a Harrison unlock. Normally I take the other side, but I’m with Scopely on this bring a fair event. I will ftp complete no problem. One interesting side-effect of not having officer xp: most of my ships are maxed, so this may force me to max/scrap envoys and I know they hate that. 😂

@wanton copper I think you guys should reconsider doing away team events, or at the very least, make the sourcing of AT speed-ups that are worth a hill of beans easier. For those of us under level 39 (I’m level 34), how is it the least bit fair that I can only complete the event by doing minimum 5 rare (without critical success) assignments, and only get 600 points? If I cannot unlock Epic Assignments until level 39, then the score needs to be lowered for those of us under 38, the points payout needs to be higher, or the sourcing of 12hr and 1 day speed-ups needs to be far more common and easier; preferably, all of the above.

That said, I don’t think AT should ever be BP events unless you’re going to be handing me speed ups, or unless I can use Latinum for speed ups AT THE SAME COST as regular speed ups, eg 50 Latinum/8 hours, 100/1 day

It’s quite nice just being ship xp but I could really do with an officer xp event as well. I have loads of T5 L20 officers that cost more than a limited time officer daily and have been doing waiting a long time to spend the xp…don’t want to spend 1m xp for a 360k daily.

Could be like that for high ops players 🙂 In mid 30s we generally have more officer xp and officers to spend it on than ship xp and ships to spend it on. G3 ships do not need much and G4 specialty ships are limited to low tiers by warp range. So top score now in SLB is over 30 millions for 35-39, with officer xp we would be over 100M already.

@frail onyx Don't get me wrong, I understand to a point why lower level players can't earn ship BP and parts if their level isn't high enough to build the ship. But other ship BP should be won, since it would give players something to look forward too when they reach the level to build it.

But when it comes to Officers.... Yea, there isn't really an excuse. All players regardless of their level should be given the chance to earn them via the SMS, SLB, and the Alliance ones too. The events are done so they scale with peoples level and are placed in brackets to compete with others fairly for the SLB. So it not happening again is bad planning, or play level hate.

Don't get me wrong. I know I'm playing the game oddly. But when LV19 and below have had the Away Team SMS and SLB, and we don't this time. That also goes for the Officer events.

I know the events haven't been up to snuff as of late but because of that, lower level players are getting the forgotten about.

I don't want special treatment, or be given something that others can't earn. But I want to be treated fairly.

Yes playing the game at LV19 for so long means I can't make the newer ships, or easily get the needed 3* uncommon crystal to finish upgrading my NS. I know that I can't do any more missions (Not counting monthly events), until I level up and get better ships.

But Away Team SMS and SLB shouldn't have been locked away, this time around.

The same with the Burnham/Harrison. Other players would actually have a easier time with this event, since I can't do anymore research, or upgrade buildings and platforms. The only way I could really compete with them is by spending Ship XP. Where they could gain points via the researches and upgrades.

Even with all that said: Even with the events not being give to LV19 players or lower, why wasn't something else done?

A small event to earn Officer XP, Officer tokens to do a chest pull, Ship XP, and so on?

It would be special treatment though. Officer auctions have started at 20+ in the past, and you would beat anyone still in that bracket through the sheer amount of rss/mats/lat you've accumulated by camping for so long. Being able to pop out a fresh envoy and max it in just a few minutes is 800k pts, and you could do it more than once.

Ship xp might be the only way for a level 19 camper to score, but it's quite a potent scoring method. Buildings/def plats at that level are ~1k power, so 80k pts each. A player walking the normal path in the game just can't pop out half a dozen buildings and speed them up to play in an officer slb against you competitively.

Points didn't accumulate the same way between build slots, and folks were able to score based on player power instead of building power. If you're going to run a leaderboard, you have to make the scoring fair and consistent.

That's not completely true, there are some researches (Vahlkas, kumari, etc) that should score ~900k pts each. But the issue is a defense platform is supposed to score 60,000 pts per the scoring summary and was putting up 120,000 pts naturally and 8.6M pts using the exploit.

So, if they haven't corrected it you've got 9 minutes to rush a lvl 22 defense platform in your second build slot

A full arc ALB is very frustrating. Many players change alliances and this would prevent them from doing that at all as they would be disqualified from any rewards

Scopely does not make money from lower level players. Everything in the game is designed to push you higher up, from PvP brackets to new content only available at certain tiers. It's a lousy answer, but it's the answer to your question.

I took a semi-break from the game because the ferengi arcs, the bs dry dock, and the general trash content this year. Half of the year is over and it isn't looking good. I am upping the odds of the game folding in 2023.

I would ask Scopely to please think again about basing major calendar elements around progressive ALBs. It’s not like any alliance has an equal chance of making the top 8; I can tell you today who 6 of those alliances will be on my server, and that mine won’t be there as we are consistently ranked #11. So several days of events aren’t available, and more rewards to the alliances that don’t need any more help. This is a bad design for the majority of the players.
