It doesn't change for g5, except the mats given get 1 extra star... It's paltry for the g5 economy. I can get more uncom mats from a refinery pull than all 4 milestones of FH combined. ~100 g5 uncom, when you need...tens of thousands for any kind of upgrade? Yep...I only do it now if I got nothing else to do for an hour, or am tiering up lvl26 ships to scrap.

The APEX, Faction Hunt etc events are designed for lower level players, they are not worth the time for any player lvl 53 and above. I don't do them anymore (ops 58) and enjoy free evenings instead. Just ignore them and enjoy RL instead. As you may have figured out, Scopely really doesn't care a flying panda about what their players want 🤣 so I would advise to just don't waste your energy being upset 😀

Actually I stand corrected - I'd assumed my lower level members got a generic hostile hunt equivalent in place of the borg probe hunt, as in some past events. Instead, it seems they (level ~15s just starting on their FCs) got 3 the first day, 2 the second, and 1 the third. Not 3 days of 3.

Borg event fixed? I don't see any fix. Even now, the event still shows scoring only for up to L33. Took me 3 trips to grind those little borg hostiles. Would've been more except I also used up some ViDar bonus loot exocomps too.

Do you guys do that on purpose? Everyone complains about too much grinding, so you are like, “OK, then - triple faction hunt!” Worst event in the deck, stupid excessive grinding wise. Cut the point requirement by about two thirds, and it would be just OK, but still a lot of grinding. Dump that event, or revise it drastically. The players don’t want it.

I much prefer doing things right the first time rather than have to repeatedly explain how the patched up thing appears/works.

This once again shows the lack of preparation and verification from scopely. It doesn’t have to be difficult either. Just have somebody that knows about features verify stuff such as events before you launch them.

The event was “fine” as was, but there were concerns raised that it was not conducive to efficient grind. That was addressed. It was not the big deal a vocal few set out to make it seem 🙂

I agree that it was not that bad. I conpleted it before it was updated.

The point I was trying to make is that once again a simple copy paste happened without apparently any thought being given about implementing changes to the game itself to the event. In other words: no verification of events being planned, which is basically the same as what happens every arcfall aka bug introduction day. This bad habbit of doing things without some sort of quality assurance.

In this particular case it may not have been that bad, I’ll grant you that, there have been far worse to happen that just a bit of debugging could have helped scopely and the player base.

The flip side, this is a “down week”, where the teams behind the scenes are very heavily focused on the new content that will hopefully come soon, and while I am sure there are many jokes to be had about bugs in that this week (and last week) the events are by design copy-paste, low energy stuff so that the team aren’t losing too much time to them.

In the not too distant past it was Faction Hunt, CoW and Apex and that was your lot - I for one am grateful both for a broader spectrum of events and the extra loot that comes with them, even if the price is every once in a while we as a community need to shout up and say “yo folks, could we get these updated for new content please?” 🙂

Also true, though I wouldn’t call two faction hunts and two CoW a broader spectrum. The fleet commander events spiced things up (and also here because of the aforementioned copy paste event).
Which basically proves my point that some sort of review moment between planning some events and committing to the planned events.
Based on your explanation, last week would have been a calm week and therefore some extra thought could have gone into yesterday’s event. Doing so would have led to smoother events and less fuss, which in the end can only help scopely and discord mods.

You have to do better. To advance the mission, a team has to run and win all 3 of the mega madas. Then battle log says partial so you must reload and then it turns green in the Battlelog so claim the other chest. The mission advances. Please do better.

@wanton copper @icy cairn why is your killing game limited to specific ships that players may or may not have. I am 46 and will be 49 after a spend event. I don't have a 46 ship. I have 1 faction locked but not the credits to outright buy a 46 rare ship. I have the credits for the other two factions that I am working on locking but you are forcing players to have specific ships to complete an event. Too many of the events revolve around the artefacts and the formation armadas, which are not fun. They are complicated and have a painfully time gated progression, requiring months of grinding and multiple people to actually do in-game. The events were planned so bad this month all I have motivation for is the battle pass and shielding....Working people work, I'm glad the devs feel like people have time to coordinate before they play, but we don't, and personally, I'm not willing to do that for every non-battlepass event. I like the people I play with, I don't want to talk to them and coordinate stuff every time I turn the game on. I have like maybe 10 minute sessions to play during work, and that's not enough time to gather a group for these much less to even complete the events because of the unrealistic milestones. The only other time I play really is late at night, when there is time, but not enough people are on.
This arc-runner did not do a good job.
This needs adjustments. Right now this new content is basically impossible to engage with and really not worth the effort because of how long it takes.

@wanton copper @icy cairn please fix the killing game so you don't have to use specific ships post 47. Not all players have 46+rare ships at 47. The cost to get them with credits is insane, even at 3k credits a day, that is still 170 days.

Most players buy a 42 ship because they are needed. By the time we get to 46, we may have 1 faction locked and working on the others. No everyone has half a mil credits to throw at 1 ship especially when you have drastically cut down the drop rates for BP. And the capital systems are jacked up half the time. You are expecting players to wait months at 46 before progressing. Why?

A simple fix is to allow 42 ships to take part or add a pve element to it. Don't exclude to many of your player base.

Delta Quadrant event for Vulcan was poorly planned 4 nodes and no access to 3. Concern sent in to Scopley however I highly doubt they care. As I'm still waiting for a response from an "overwhelmed" department of Scopley/Savvy. LvL 14 players on 3 nodes which no LvL35 player can remove....come on Scopley/Savvy .

The "clear the coast" battlepass event doesn't list the new eclipse systems as places where you can earn points. I've tested it, and they definitely allow you to score points. A small thing, but one that could probably be fixed very easily.

The Formation Armada dmg was really hard to finish for many lower level players. The fact that lvl 35 madas are 19 mil and lvl 40 madas are 124 mil makes this issue more apparent. [ truthfully, people need to learn to star better - but it is a mobile game - human condition ] It's feels too late to change any balance here, since Artifacts are already assigned to armada levels. Feels like Scopley is missing some middle ground again. Just maybe do completions instead of damage for the next event. This can create bad feelings and inter-allinace conflict and thats not good for the game. Once again - game balance......

It's opt-in because the intention is that players will choose to not join the event in order to give others a chance to win.

The relevant scenario is as follows:
Player A is a high-performing player, and has finished all skins/researches and no longer needs rewards.
Player B is in the same bracket, and trying to take the top positions in the SLB.
If A continues their usual path, then under auto-join they will actively be working against his teammate B every time he joins an armada. Because this is his teammate, he wants to help, but the only way to do that is to not play.

Under opt-in, he can just not join the event, and can assist in all armadas with his powerful development and lift his teammates to the win.

In a world of fantasy it may work like that, but in the real world, it does not work like that. People with the skins/researches join in order to actively prevent people in other alliances from winning and being able to obtain the skin and do further researches. If you want it to work as you are suggesting, it needs to be like it is/was for the Opus Refit in the Old Apex, if you have it, the SLB does not appear as an event for you.

In this case, the reward isn't a skin, it's currency that is insufficient for a full skin unlock as well as some research mats. We need to win several times in order unlock the rewards and the currency can be used to buy lots of different skins, not just one.

If you want to design a replacement, then it needs to fit within the constraints of what we have now, and to be superior, it needs to have some part that's better. An unjoin button is new, unproven tech. And a lockout for skin owners assumes that the new Stella refit will be the only reward, ever.

What's wrong with choosing the path of personal responsibility and asking players to join when they want to, even if it means they can compete against their enemies?

Someone gets off work sits down opens up their STFC game and sees someone has started an Elipse armada so they join. A little while later they scroll through the events and “oh no I forgot is was Thursday and I didn’t join the event”. It seems to me this scenario is more likely. However I hadn’t considered the scenario you laid out, I appreciate you spelling that out for all of us. At least I now know why that event is like that.

I don't like that people have to join because the people it penalizes are the ones who are already not placing high (taking their time to unlock things from a few months to several months, potentially) - they may not be on at event reset to hit the join then, and missing an armada or two may be significant to how they place overall - my leaderboard this week had only 39/50 prizes given out, so doing anything that scored points would have gotten the next 11 people a prize. The players who benefit from the join button (at the time, where I suspect 99% of players who run at least one armada intended to be on the leaderboard) are the ones for whom a few players not participating meaningfully affects rewards, aka players in the top 10.
Of those two groups, if necessary, I would prefer that the system is designed so that more people get the 4.5k vs 0, at the cost of some people getting 10k+ losing out on more. The former is often a case of kicking players while they're down (ones feeling time pressure on that day or every day, players making a mistake, or just unaware of a knowledge check.)
I find it challenging to meet the goals of "minimize players stockpiling coins for any hypothetical new additions, especially by skipping purchases", "ensure that lower-level players are able to save for the unlocks they may not see yet", "don't require tech there's no reason to think they have (a leave event button)", and "maximize player satisfaction", but here's my best attempt:

• The event auto-joins if you meet the requirements for it
• At ops 34+, the event is available unless you have enough coins to buy every visible refit (or have no visible refits).
• From ops 25-33, the event is available until your coin total is at least (the cost of the stella refits you don't have unlocked + the cost of one g3 epic refit)
  I assume any new additions to the game will be mostly targeted at ops 35+ players anyway, and this prevents the store from locking out early for newer players.

If they wanted to really fix the problem of "don't let people stockpile for new additions", then that's accomplishable in my pitch by also changing the g3 epic refit visibility from what I believe is "has the ship" to "ops 34+ and Respected in the relevant reputation" (aka could buy and build the ship) - anyone determined enough to stockpile that they won't triple lock is such an edge case they're not worth worrying about, and if they care about players who got the ship from chests without getting the reputation they could probably add that as another visibility option.

This avoids the feels-bad of "I go the opus grande skin early as a new player before I could get my stella to t9 and now I can't work towards the one that helps me research faster" or "I can't work on the g3 skins because I'm not high enough level to buy them", and doesn't make higher-level players feel like they're being punished for unlocking refits for ships by being unable to save up now (especially if they did so before this system)".

High-engagement players who have everything they want are now opted out (or will be shortly when they get the ones they don't care about - it shouldn't be that many skins, and if their placing affects their teammtes than they're getting minimum 10k coins a week), and if they really need to screw over some other alliance's members they can go back to armada spiking or whatever.

Bugs aside. It's really slow to do cat and mouse event atm as +50 player. I need interceptor kills but they don't like to spawn after few have been killed. Grinding hours lower level hostile I won't start to do to finish the event.

I like the new Thursday apex events, good re-design of old content 👍 downsides: still hasn’t resolved lag, I now hate playing the game on Thursdays. Still need faster respawn rates for eclipse armadas. On an active server they are all gone in each system & still hanging around & waiting. By the way I have no issue with the join event button, click the apex window and the event is clearly marked with join…easy, not missed one. If scopley could work on the downsides ive mentioned it would be a job well done by them

My rule of thumb for mixed hostile systems is always go for battleships. Most players will go for explorers cos they’re always the squishiest, the next biggest group will go for interceptors cos they have lower hull than battleships. While those groups are killing those, battleship hostiles will spawn more quickly, and you’ll have less competition for them.

Looking at the killing game….absolutely a face palm event. Folks at the lower end of the tiers are going to get ANNIHILATED by folks just a couple levels higher due to access to ships. Not sure who idea it was, but they don’t play the game, or are sadists. As it is Mother’s Day, way to go scopy. Yet another example of state sanctioned bullying. You don’t know what is going to happen? Let me tell you. The bracket I am in, (47-60) will have all 56+ players not touching each other AT ALL, and they will swoop in and smoke the 47-52 players who stand NO CHANCE (and ergo getting little to no points of damage for their troubles) against the magnitude of power difference thrown at them. This is a really awful idea, and who ever thought of it should be shamed mercilessly.

The Mission Key event is tough to impossible using a mobile device since the store won’t load at all. Out of the last 75 attempts over the last two days, the store loaded properly once. Even switching from Safari to Chrome, using Privacy/Incognito mode, & clearing the cache before logging in hasn’t worked. I guess this event is only designed for people that have PCs to play on.

I dunno. I kind of prefer this event to the ones where you have to win to score. At least this one gives most a chance to finish just by damage done. If people work together and send in ships that are listed, but low enough to damage, you can complete the event easily.

I just don’t get the logic behind some of these Events. We already have a mining SLB every Lat Monday, yet Scopely decides we need 3 more? We now have Mudd SLBs every Apex Thursday, yet Scopely decides to stack another one on this week, and it’s a 2 day SLB? Meanwhile there’s no Heavy Hitter, no Recruit the New Officers SLB, no ATA SLB, just a couple of Armada SLBs.

The Pvp brackets do suck like all the time. They need to decrease the gaps so you can't hit so far down.

That being said, people need to stop speed leveling ops and skipping all these ships. I can not tell you how many people can't complete events or do dailys cause they rushed to ops 35 without so much as a single faction ship. Even worse if your trying to swing upper 40s without even a ops 42 ship.

I am OPS 52 and really fed up with the clustering of the events.
Many events are 50+ till 60, for the majority of events, that's no problem.
(still, people who are 60 on my server, buy everything in the game and will always dominate SLBs)

THIS is the issue. @wanton copper and @icy cairn I had the amount of solo borg directives to win this easily - had scoring worked properly. The disparity in strength between my top two ships the third next best one put me at a serious disadvantage compared to folks that have three ships nearer each other in strength. This bug did not impact all people equally in the end, the math is more complex than your announcement indicates. Add in the bug where the new projectile scores in PVE and PVP for this SLB and you have a broken event. The rewards arent groundbreaking, but I was looking forward to this one and saved directives for it.

Would your team at least consider a gift chest to people that scored in the event as some sort of gesture of goodwill for the mistake? Saying it impacts everyone so we will let it go doesnt sit well, especially considering that both bugs combined do not impact everyone equally. No big deal, I still get my solo mada rewards as needed - but scopely should be doing a gift chest for this event, it is broken pretty badly in the end.

The current event is really for the dustbin. After a month with the event shop, you now have Pay2Win. No directives for the new armadas and the other events are hardly worth mentioning in terms of rewards. Is it just me?

For the Formadas Event, issues and recommendations:

Issue 1: Not enough Formada targets in each system. Alliances are fighting and/or competing over who gets to utilize them and this is seriously affecting lower level players who want to participate, with support from their stronger players.

Solution: Add 2 more formations in each system, positioning the three North, SouthWest and SouthEast.

Issue 2: Seats for each formada target is limited to 4 each, severely limiting # of participants each time.

Solution: Match the # of seats available to that of regular armada targets, boosted by the Armada Control Center. As participants require strength high enough to defeat even the lvl 26 Formadas in Uxal, they should be able to host 4 seaters by then anyways.

Also add better diversity between 35 and 40 on Formation Armadas. The power disparity is too wide to reasonably done. I feel AWFUL for all our lower 40s higher 30s ops players.

@wanton copper @icy cairn the Artifact System is broken. The amount of Artifacts you get is just way to low to be anywhere motivating or impactful for the game. It's a shame to kill a good idea like that. The count down in the artifact gallery is way to long, it should be 24 hours (example: I have 70k which I can not use and it's only growing), 15 directives a day for an armada is just laughable, it means one armada a week, but then again, as the count down is from the stone age, it really doesn't matter. All together doing the armadas doesn't matter as the system of artifacts is broken, so in the end you released something that's a great idea and design it to be utterly useless. Needs some work and adjustment to have people focus on it and to be something people thrive for to complete. It will die after the Arc if you don't fix it. As a side note as someone that buys many pacts (ops 59), the pack in the shop is to unattractive to buy even for whales 🤣 so please go and fix it and make it something nice. At the moment unfortunately it is a dead born idea which could have been great. And no, your last "fixes" are a drop on a hot stone.

Well, technically speaking it did leave everyone impacted equally - smallest ship scored for everyone, everything past that as with all SLBs is down to a player’s own decisions - and for the most part, it would affect people the same way anyway as someone with two T5 G5R ships will be doing more damage with those ships than someone with a T5 G5R and a T6 G5U; my main issue was with the description not giving people the knowledge that only the smallest ship scored after that issue was identified, letting people know and crew appropriately - although it was announced here.

In short, player choices decide every leaderboard; the complaints I hear here past “that’s not what it says” is “it doesn’t suit my choices”, which unfortunately there are always going to be instances where your choices disadvantage you just as much as they advantage you. See; Pilum owners on a server full of Newbtons.

I get it - scopelys response was disappointing though, lets be honest. Two bugs (or unannounced metric) in one event - they used to give out comp chests or change scoring or do something more. To say simply, theres a bug sorry, and leave it at that is subpar CS. Anyway, it is what it is, scopely continues to push loyal customers closer to the F2P line, and then F2P players closer to the ex-player line with additive bad experiences. They need to do better QC across the board and much better communications/response to mistakes. Another day in STFC.

Issue 1: Contraband Chips can only be spent on Hijacked Ships. There is no incentive for higher ops / power level players to spend them.
Issue 2: Additionally, the 4* ship parts require Rogue Event Trophies, when the Apex Research Medals and Material/Resources options already need them.

Solution for both issues:
Switch the Currency Requirement for the 4* ship parts to be Contraband Chips instead of Rogue Research Medals.
This way high ops / power level players have incentive to spend the Contraband Chips and all players can focus their Rogue Event Trophies on Research or Building, instead of adding on ship parts to the choices as they grow in ops level.

Rogue content is meant to end in the mid to high 40s, if you don't need the contraband chips then dont do the slb. That's the whole reason the slb has a join button. So if you don't need the chips, you don't enter the event for them. There are other things in the store that use the contraband chips, but you must have them already which is why they aren't visible to you.

I believe that this updated Battle Pass IGN info is still wrong. For example, it lists the Artifact Hunt SLB and ALB as May 17-18, yet the events say they go for 1 day 2 hours more, implying it's May 17-19. Formation Assault SMS is listed as May 17-18, but it ended at reset yesterday, so it was really just May 17. I don't know what errors it has on a forward looking/ongoing basis, but it's clearly wrong still, even after it got updated for the Gathering Resources SLB correction.

Why is Scopely calling this Arc Voyager Part 1? Shouldn’t they call it Ferengi Part 2 instead? With these multi day mining events that 99% of players don’t want, especially when we already have Lat Mondays. And no other meaningful SLBs outside of the Doctor Recruit and the generic Armada SLBs. So what if some players complain about too many SLBs. No one is forcing them to participate. Many of us like grindable SLBs like Heavy Hitter or the Solos, not to mention Recruit and ATA SLBs that reward careful planning, but can be done with minimal time investment. Plz at least give us the option to do them!

There is an event under the folder "Gathering Intel" called "Every Man has his price" and these trophies are an additional scoring mechanic in the slb/sms. Take bribes to avoid having to mine at all, or use them to make you more competitive in the slb (also scores off mining lat/mats). This is explained in the event text.

At my ops (44) one pull of Great Bribe completes the sms. The milestones usually vary by ops and may be easier at lower levels.

The correct channel is currently locked but I think trying to designate one server as attacker and the other as defender for the entirety of an incursion is a bad idea. The big prize will always be going to the opposing server, hoping to find an AFK mega whale that you can crack and raid for T, or even Q rss. The best compromise solution between the two that I can think of, while still imperfect, is enforced attack/defence windows.

(Although am glad to hear that Franklin event isn't seeing the light of day again)

Incursions suks. Plain and simple. Every one that has been run only 10% participate. They shield up and hide. And Why? Cause we think the event is dumb and we don’t want it. These new ways to do it won’t fix it cause it will STILL ONLY be the same few that participate. I suggest break the servers up a set of servers that are only those who like these events and ONLY those servers have them. The rest of the servers can be free from such events. This of course means you h@ve to allow players to choose what server they wish to go to in order to have the experience they desire.forcing ban event on the 90% who don’t want it to satisfy the 10% is bad for business

In my eyes incursions is a complete failure and I think the community has, to an overwhelming majority, the same opinion. The concept, the core idea, of this event is bad and broken. The only way to "fix" is getting rid of it all together. Same goes for the alliance starbase btw.

You are right: it is a failure because the most of players use 24H shield to skip it. Without PvP events during a month, Incursion event, a global PvP event, is an event somebody can not play to hunt who is mining. Gamers only know to play with ROE

I like incursions and look forward to this rework. I’m a mid lvl player and I too get eaten by whales. However, not everyone is a whale and I can still find plenty of good PvP time during these as well. I’m mean, what the heck are we leveling these ships and bases for if not to test them in battle against other players. If 24hrs of unrestricted warfare once a month, ruins your game/makes you mad…..my I suggest a pull back from the game just a bit. Ya might be too close. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A server for all who wish to participate in the event could relocate to an incursion server, for the period of the event. Then players with ops twice the level as other players can attack all they like

Lol, on our server we only have 4 people left that really spend money. All the other 🐳 🐳 🐳 have stopped and start losing interest in the game. It's one thing to spend a lot of money, but even the spenders start realizing that things are totally out of whack when you need to purchase 5 packs to get the required amount of uncommon/rare or steel to upgrade just one major building on 57-60 ops lvl, Scopely consciously holding back exactly the packs that have value to these people and releasing content that is just plain irrelevant to their game play and has no use, like these officers. That additionally to an unstable game with continuous technical problems and a management that says "they listed to feedback" but their actions reflect a Universe where they have never heard a player, let alone actually play their own game 🤣🤣🤣it has become a sad story, only about cheap money grabs that even drives 🐳🐳🐳 away. 🙈🙈🙈

100% agree. The new primes are one of the worst examples. It will drive an even bigger wedge between those that have them and those that don’t. And I’m not sure very many who don’t will really progress far in G5. It will be a progression wall which may lead to even more long term players quitting.
