After reading a little bit about it I found that apparently he will give you diys if you give him secret ingredients for each dish, which you can get a hint for by talking to your villagers that are cooking in their homes. But if you've already finished the event then I think you can still get those diys from nooks cranny

It really depends what kinda tips you’d need ! The game doesn’t do a lot of “hand holding” that I feel other games do but checking your mail and going day by day is what I did a lot early game

Like I could tell ya what crops are best each season, when / where to catch certain fish etc

Is there something I don't do in the game to get new furniture aside from getting it from other gamers ? I'm a bit disapointed of the game in the sense that it put an accent on decorating everything but I hardly get any new furnitures, it almost always the same at the store, I get a lot of the same cards I already have, I feel stuck with nothing new to do. Coming to this game right after playing pocket camp is so jarring, and the january update is only goingo to make it more obvious.

Cyrus on Harvs island can refurbish furniture to new colours too so you can reorder

The DLC helps a lot too since after building a certain number of houses and buying enough from the poki shop you can pretty much rebuy any item you've used in HHP
