Afaik, there’s not. It’s mostly just up to luck - you can’t force one to spawn more quickly unfortunately.

But - if a villager does have a flea, you can see and hear it when you are near them. Make sure you also speak with your villagers regularly, as those with a flea will mention being itchy.

You won't find villagers on Kapp'n islands and you can only go once per day. You can only find gyroids there and islands in other seasons than on your island.
