Hey everyone! ☺️I'm having a little problem with my villagers' outfits. Basically, half of them never wear the outfits I give them, while the other half do. I've tried everything: I've complained to Isabelle about their outfits, I've given them clothes they liked according to Nookipedia, but nothing works. They always end up putting their original outfits back on after a while. I think it's a bug because earlier I did the stretching exercise with them at the town hall, and some of them were wearing the clothes I'd given them, and then right after, when I went to see them, they were back in their original outfits. I don't know what to do to fix that 😭

Ungifted means they haven't been given any clothing items or objects they can place in their house, so they're the same as a villager you just invited off a nook miles island. Gifted is the opposite, might have different clothes or furniture

If you wish to backup all your screenshot/videos on another device though, for example your PC, it would be easier to buy a microSD Express card, insert it into your Switch, then transfer all your current screenshots/videos on it, and also optionally define it as the main storage for medias. So you can eject it when you want and transfer them anywhere with a microSD card reader (like with a microSD to USB A adapter) and put it back when you're done.

• What do I do with them? — Buy them from Daisy Mae on Sunday, then sell them at Nook's Cranny sometime during the week before the next Sunday.

• Why? — Your goal is to make a profit. That means you want to buy at a low price & sell at a higher price.

• What's a "low" price? — Daisy Mae's prices range from 90 to 110 bells per turnip, so a price in the 90s is on the lower side.

• What's a "high" price? — Timmy & Tommy will buy at prices ranging from 9 to 660 bells per turnip. Yes, this means you can LOSE money. Anything 350+ is pretty high, but you can still profit with lower numbers as long as it's higher than what you paid.

• How many should I buy? — As many as you want (limited by how many you can afford & carry), but I recommend buying just a few at first if you don't fully understand how it works yet.

• Where do I put them? — Turnips CANNOT be stored in your home inventory. You can put them on the floor in your house, on the ground outside, or bury them. You can stack them into "bundles" to save space.

• How do I know when the sell price will be high? — You don't! That's the gamble of the stalk market! There are 2 different sell prices at Nook's Cranny each day; it changes at 12pm (noon). You can predict your future prices using fanmade tools such as Turnip Prophet or AC-Turnip.

• Can I time travel back to a better price? — NO!! ALL turnips will SPOIL if you travel back even 1 second. Prices WILL change if you go backwards. You can go forwards, but DON'T go past 5am on Sunday, or they'll rot.

• What if I have NO good prices? — You can see if anyone has a higher price in #daisy-nookling-ads, then use online play to travel to their island to sell!

4. When he lists your options, choose [Save data].

You can only get your native fruit, your sister fruit which you can rarely find on NMT islands, the fruit your mom sends you which sometimes differs from your sister fruit, and coconuts

it is possible. i let marina move off my island a few years ago. i cried. on my villager hunt i did actually find "her" again, but she was like reset or something. she never remembered me or anything and her house is even different now than it was the first time.
but also, if a friend has that villager and they happen to be moving out, you can tell that villager to move onto your island.

Isabelle only announces them if there is no other news that day. And villagers will talk about it at night, while it’s going on.

Groups fall over a set minute. So 3 could fall near each other and then a time gap and 2 more fall, all within a specific minute, so that’s one group with up to a potentially 54 second gap between.

There is technically no better initial map pattern than other, it is subjective. Just keep in mind that you can't modify the location of the pier (and so, hotel), the airport and the plaza (and so, resident services). Also you can't edit beach shapes, river mouths, and beach rocks locations. Everything else will be editable (cliffs, rivers, ponds...) when you will obtain ||the island designer app||.

You will also be able to move other facilities (Nook's Crany, Able Sisters, Museum...), villagers houses, and your own house as well.

Hey yall, what does it mean when people say a villager is lightly gifted, heavily gifted, or non gifted?

These terms describe how much a villager's inventory and home have changed from their default version since they first arrived on that player's island. Heavily gifted villagers have received numerous clothes and furniture items that they can wear or display at any time. Lightly gifted villagers have only been given a few select pieces, while ungifted villagers remain in their 100% default state with no changes at all

You could try to turn off screen burn-in reduction too. This setting, on any device, will dim and sometimes turn off the screen to protect itself from any ghost imaging that could happen. On the switch I know it'll dim the screen, but not sure if it'll eventually force the screen to turn off. You could try this and see what happens

Yes, the wildcard category consists of overflow slots. Once a specific clothing category is full, any new item regardless of type starts filling those wildcard spots.

IIRC one of you need to visit the other one's island playing online (from internet, not local mode), then from the friends app, there are tabs that list your "best friends", one for the requests inbox, and another one for the requrests outbox, you can send them a request and reciprocally from here.

I think you can just plant the flowers, you don't need a shovel for it. If you do, you need to be friends on the Switch, and best friends in the game to be able to use a shovel on another person's island. I would say to first just try to plant them, before trying the friending part

It’s an in-game process that this guide just speeds up, so instead of waiting months in real time for someone to move out you get someone in a few hours to leave. It’s RNG, so it’s completely randomized. Just keep at it and someone will ask eventually, there’s no telling how long it’ll take

i had a question about amiibo campsite villagers and movijg them in. I had O'Hare in my campsite 3 times with the amiibo and he said he'd move in because i had a villager moving out, but it was not an empty plot yet. that villager left and O'Hare didn't show up on the sold sign, so I tried to invite him to the campsite again but I can't and get his answering machine message saying he's in the process of moving. I was like, oh okay, maybe I just need to autofill him so he can move in, but when i finally autofilled, it wasn't O'Hare 😞 Did he end up at the back of my queue or something? I'm so confused

He may be in your queue, yes. If all of the plots are full now, you can invite him to the campsite again and have him kick out the autofilled villager. (You do have to speak to the villager at least once for them to show up as an option for O'Hare to kick out tho)

Sounds like you're experiencing the amiibo/MIQ bug. Like Salem said, O'Hare is in your MIQ, so he's going to say he's in the process of moving, like you're experiencing. I believe the way to correct this is to empty your MIQ by allowing up to 4 plots to naturally autofill until O'Hare shows up

Yeah you can to save some time. A good way to tell if a thought bubble is a move-out bubble or not is by entering any building and then coming back outside. If it’s a move-out bubble, the villager will still have it. If it’s not, then it’ll disappear and you can skip to the next day at that point

so i was just redecorating a villager's home and was taking some pics with the nookphone app, and then suddenly i couldn't move the camera or exit the mode at all? i can move my character around and use reactions, but no other buttons seem to be working. is there an easy fix for this or am i just gonna have to close the game and lose a couple hours of progress? 😭

Here's an above angle. I surmise something is "blocking" the blue bench for her despite nothing really block it, but I also don't want to spend days being lucky to find out what it is. Is it the counter? The yoga mat? The light?

I would assume the ceiling lamp to be the culprit here, if it's right above the bench... The game probably checks whether the tiles are free of any furniture for the villager to use it, while not properly accounting for furniture you can walk through (which the lamp is)

Now I don't know. I checked several of my houses where my villagers use the benches and stoves I put out, and not only do some of them have overhead lighting on top, but some of them like here in Kabuki are fine with the 2x1 space.

Reposting my question for convenience. Trying to figure out why Merengue spawned a bench instead of using the bench I provided her which is functionally accessible.

I'd rather not trial and error and hope I catch her crafting so if anyone can see what I'm not seeing that would be so helpful

I don't have HHP so this is pure hypothesizing, but it may just have to be in the same place they normally spawn a crafting table. Kabuki's stove is exactly where his default cooking pot goes. Merengue's big kitchen item is still in its normal place and she put the crafting table next to it.

Secondary idea would be to try blocking off the spot she normally puts it, and see if she switches to the one you placed

I did some experimenting with this. You're going to have to move the low wooden island counter and bamboo drums. Even if it looks like there's a gap, villagers really try to avoid the two squares right at the entrance so they don't block you when you walk in. Since those are the only open spots you've given her to reach the bench, you’ve effectively blocked her entire walkway. If you remove those items she'll craft in that area again

Depends which ones you mean. They all have different spawn conditions, trees, flowers, etc. Some of them require a certain amount of empty space, I hardly ever see tarantulas or scorpions anymore except in one specific corner

If you're having trouble with catching rare Beetles I recommend using nook miles tickets dig up the coconut trees from them until you get on a bamboo island plant them there and clear everything else

They're also just, well, rare. Other bug spawns might be preventing them from appearing, since there's a limit, try going in and out of buildings to reset them or just catch the other bugs

That doesn't matter! The best advice I can give is make sure you're at the right time and use fish bait. Keep tossing it until you see a barreleye-sized shadow and fish that up. Rinse and repeat until caught!

Fish when it's raining. It's worth bringing bait when you do a Kapp'n tour island in case it's the rainy gyroid island or the winter Island. People share on #island-hangouts🛩️🏝️ here and there if they have rain.

The easiest way to fish with bait is to go to a south beach that's completely horizontal and throwing the bait from the edge. You can throw bait and instantly throw your rod and it will perfectly line up with any shadow.

I'm sure couch co-op still exists, but there should be two or more players staying on the same island as a Switch console only shares a single island save, so no matter how many accounts the Switch has, they're all playing on the same island.

Also couch co-op doesn't require online play! Bring up your Nookphone and select the "Call Resident" app, and from there, you and the other nearby player will play in multiplayer mode.
