I had a 10 sec freeze at the beginning of a mp2 race 💀 (2016 Intel Mac)

Did it happen to anyone else?

I'm playing on a macbook pro m1 2020 with a DS4 controller, which runs smoothly, but whenever i try to screen record and/or is in a discord call, the sound gets cut off and my controller won't work even if it's connected. Did anyone have a similar issue?

Xbox controller works fine for me. But screen record hampers the FPS a LOt for me. But other than that there are no problems

After today’s macOS update, I changed my settings from Low with “everything on” up to Medium. I tired a few combinations and the ideal one for me now is Medium with everything minus Bloom and Reflections. Turning on Reflections makes it choppy; Bloom I leave off just because it’s over done and distracting. I welcome the headlights, car shadows, and extra details.

I have a MacBook Air M1.

Thanks to the devs for optimizing the game even more for us macOS players.

Feedback from 13 inch 2016 MacBook Pro (i5-6267U, no dedicated GPU):
No more huuuge FPS Drops, so great job! Still can’t play anywhere near at Low graphics 😅, let alone medium… but hey! Game works buttery smooth on Very Low, and looks decent

I used to play on very low graphics, with no other options enabled, and at 60% resolution
However, I cranked the resolution up to 100% (on very low, with all the other graphics options disabled) and the game runs smoothly! 🥳

The option is not present in macOS (no check box for the option like on Xbox). I prefer manual acceleration. I will probably just stick with Xbox. Thanks for the reply

And like after pressing s+a or s+d if i use nitro immediately then when i press a or d my car turns normally. Can you tell is this a issue or the game is designed such

Drift in this game works in a way that it's tap to drift and not hold to drift, so whenever you initiate a drift, you have to cancel it again by either tapping the drift button again, or using nitro

After the latest macOS update on 9/16/2024, ALU is now opening in full screen on a separate desktop without switching to it. So, make sure it’s not opening on a different desktop.

then make the window cover the whole screen

You should be able to see the menu bar

The menu bar has to be rendered in 120 fps so the rest of the screen is also in 120 fps, including the game

It is simply unplayable with 0,5s input delay. I really don't know anymore where to play the game. Input delay on ipad and iPhone, 15fps on iMac with M1 chip, game crashes as well as lags which hold on for about 5 seconds straight on xbox series x.

Is it just me or has Gameloft simply not cared enough to fix the trade coins banner? It shows a laughably small window for the point to display. Easily could have adjusted the banner text area to make the points window allow for large numbers without scrolling (I currently have 19,453 coins). No one caught this in acceptance, alpha, or beta testing before the public release in July??

I’m losing the current AMG gp. I couldn’t even manage to get top 25% in the last stage of Revuelto and Stradale SE. I’m losing points in mp1. Couldn’t get top 500 in last mp2.
It’s been 4 days still there is no fix for controller issue.

Controller issue is a major bug affecting thousands of players and there is no progress on the fix. Meanwhile, bugs that’s not harmful for the game and it’s giving free rewards to players gets fixed within 15 minutes.

I've relealised if you make the game full screen immersive.. the keyboard/controller has a lag.. but if you keep it as a window on main desktop screen, it doesn't lag for some races at least. But the system heats up like hell and consums whole battery in 3-4 races... which otherwise lasts hours.

With the latest update, there appears to be a significant issue with the Time-Limited Event (TLE) leaderboard. Despite achieving new times, they are not being recorded or reflected in the leaderboard. In fact, the leaderboard is entirely blank, making it impossible to track or compare progress. This problem needs urgent attention to restore the integrity of the event and ensure a smooth player experience.

Hey! (cc @spring bough too) We've double checked and just wanted to update that you do indeed get the Triumph rewards -- there's just an error that doesn't display the animation for the stuff you got correctly, so we're gonna look into that

but if i connect to a wifi router or to a hotspot from a non-apple phone the game runs fine

Thanks for your report. For my case it's not a situation in which I need to wait a "very long time" to load. They just don't load anymore at all. When this issue started, I need to wait a long time and eventually it would load. Then it stopped loading no matter how long I wait. On iOS (same account) it loads normally.

True, game works exponentially better on Intel iGPUs compared to asphalt 9. I guess they worked a lot more with Intel machines compared to M machines. Asphalt 9 was the contrary (poor performance on intel iGPUs)

Hey. I have an issue with the controls. I am on a Mac M1 2020 Macbook Pro. I recently updated my computer from previous OS to new 18.2. Now I can't use the arrow keys. Previously, I used to use arrow keys with right hand and kept the left hand to the space bar for nitro. I'm quite certain the root cause of the issue is that the Resolution Scale parameter is now locked at 0.5, whereas before the update, it was locked at 0.8. While not ideal, that value at least had a milder impact on visual quality. Please refer to the screenshots I took from my previous recording showing the image quality; the resolution scaling was previously at 0.8x. For comparison, it's now at 0.5x, and no matter how I adjust the Resolution Scale parameter in the graphics settings, it remains unchanged.

uhh... try to isolate the problem with different benchmark or activity monitor to see hardware usage mid game, I isolated the problem to GPU being capped by software (I made like 3 major updates in 2 years)

My gameplay was like that video at med-high settings and I had to set low to get rid of artifacts.

Last season I ended up getting charged twice for the Unite Pass; I initially had a pretty good customer service experience and they got back to me pretty quickly and said I could email them at the start of this season and get the pass for this season for "free" (put that in quotes since I kinda paid for it in advance in a way). I emailed them on 3/5 as instructed, but just got an auto response saying "We only answer Customer Care requests submitted through our contact forms on the website or mobile site." Gameloft does little to address the Mac lagging and graphics issues. Yes, I know there are multiple platforms they support with only so many resources to handle issues. But I still can't play on my Mac Mini like I used to before the Unite update (I realize that it is a new game engine, too, but still). Even with every setting to low/off, the graphics flicker like mad. Luckily, they implemented the cross platform accounts to where I can play on my Android phone. I don't like playing games like this on a tiny mobile screen all the time. Personally, I've given up hope.

@uncut spruce Hi there! After the macOS update, navigation is a nightmare. The game on macOS is quite broken. Scrolling and mouse navigation are chaotic and unresponsive. We click and drag to see more events or packages, but the UI scroll sticks to the cursor and therefore it is impossible to reach the desired box to click. Furthermore, most of the clicks are unresponsive. There is also random highlighting of areas (outline) that we are not clicking or hovering over. And to wrap up, some ghost clicks too. Please, fix the game.

What are these missions?

You have to drive a certain distance with each car in the spotlight to finish these missions. Finishing these makes you progress in the spotlight pass which is similar to unite pass

You can select the "View" button on the bottom left corner of the screen in the image you shared to see the rewards that you would get by finishing these missions

I am playing on MacBook pro with m3 pro chip too. It is working fine for me. You are inside the game which is a good thing instead of getting stuck in the loading screen. Have tried pressing esc or just fast scrolling or pressing the right arrow key? There are issues with clicking and scrolling in MacOS in this update, so it may just be that instead of the game actually being stuck.

I noticed slow scrolling doesn't move anything, you have to scroll very fast for the page to move. This was in my case.

No, I believe we can complete them. It just takes extremely long time to accomplish them. we need 3600 sec of nitro for SSC and 900 sec for the rest. I just reach 1600 sec for ssc after all these days

Same here. It's a nightmare for everyone playing on macOS. The hotfix just fixed the physics issues not the bugs clicks not working properly.

i found a rather intneresting issue... If I'm on a discord call (Safari or Chrome), and open ALU, i cannot interact with the game. Whatever I do, whether it's a mouse click or try controlling with keyboard, nothing happens.
However, if i leave the discord call on the browser and go in ALU again, "keyboard detected" appears at the top right of the screen and I can play ALU normally... weird...

Screen freeze occurs roughly every other time I try to use trackpad to scroll through daily event or season event missions, or scrolling through store or garage. Game restart required to continue. This isn't happening in anything on my MacBook outside of the game. Multiple tickets submitted and so far just sympathy expressed by GL but no fix.

Same issue is happening with me. I don't keep the game in full screen to avoid the game mode as it heats up. But then if i click on any window on top of it, it registers a click. I've bought 160k credits with 500 tokens couple of times because of this bug! 😒

Playing car hunts help with gaining credits.
Otherwise if you have an android phone or iphone you may install the game to get the ads there.

Most cars available for Hunt are maxed for me, recently grinded alot the Nevera TA SE for credits and got that gold.

I have game on my android phone but I am not a mobile player.. Absolutely terrible with tilt or mobile controls. I have played the game on Mac since 2022. Let's see if they do anything otherwise I'll probably stop investing in new cars altogether.

I won't mind credits packs with tokens really. Just like BoS.

The bad drop rate is understandable without ads.
The Credit packs for buying with token have always been there in the in game store, it's just that people hate them 🤷‍♂️

You mean credit for tokens in currency section of shop? That is 165k for 500 tokens! If it is like 1 mil for 1k tokens then may be.. Currently I don't think anyone uses that. Except by mistake when game window was below other app window and I spent 1000 tokens for 260k credits.
