Tbh the “average damage” thing matters a bit less when most of your shots from artemis aren’t doing that crit damage in average rooms, so most enemies are living far longer than if you just took aphrodite

the average damage from artemis is mainly relevant against high hp foes (minibosses and bosses)

But at that point you really do need additive from other sources to make it better

Doom damage is separate from attack damage

When he rushes at you, stand next to one of the pillars or the wall of the room then at the last second dash through him

(dashes have full iframes but if you input any attack during one the iframes are cut immediately)

Zeus is strong on the rail for the same reason it’s strong on fists. Flat damage is good on fast low damage artacks

Generally stuff that’s under 30 works better with flat damage and over 30 works better with % boosts

Sword can go either way since the dash strikes are 30 damage

Hermes strike only applies to your standing strikes, and it roughly brings them to the same speed as your dash strikes

Which, under normal circumstances, are purely safer and offer more consistent damage output

Notably though you do lose the ability to benefit from dash-strike damage boosts if you convert to standing strikes though

And depending on your chaos luck in a run, that may be the majority of your additive damage

like, i hate how i can try to buffer a special after an attack and if i hit it too early i cancel my attack, but if i hit it late then im losing DPS

this also makes it super difficult for me to try and learn the bow and whatnot, i understand a dash being able to cancel an attack/special/cast, but having to sit still and not press buttons makes the game feel completely different than hades 2

also the casts themselves are like this too, i have to hold the cast button or it doesnt cast if i tap it too fast

the trick with bow is to only use dash attack

if you're coming from hades 2 here's an important advice, this game is VERY dash fueled

A lot of the Hades 1 weapons are dash focused

Bow is going to feel abysmal if you aren’t dash striking

I choose unusual passive effect boons (even when missing the basic five) to satisfy the fated prophecy. At the end of the run, I'm just not strong enough and get defeated.

Should I focus on my run (and ignore the fated choices), assuming if become a long-term player it will be no problem to complete those prophecies? [I'm stuck on the idea, "Well, just satisfy the prophecies first THEN you can play the way you want." but it is frustrating to get the last boss down to the final 20% and miss.]

Zeus strike to start is pretty strong here

You can either run like tidal dash for damage or divine dash for defensive utility

In general, the most important thing with Elysium encounters is to always finish off the exalted souls asap so they don't respawn.

It'd be easier to offer advice though if you specify what in particular you're struggling with. Are you dying to the normal encounters? The boss? mini-bosses? If normal encounters, which enemies typically damage you the most? Stuff like that

he hits like a truck so you should focus on learning his moves first

i think his swipes do like 25 dmg per hit

I like having the shield when I go and borrow his money, I have yet to do it a second time, mostly cus he does major damage and I don't want to ruin my streak of successes whahah

as an aspect of hera user I picked up crush shot and melted charon
that was like the one time where fighting charon was worth
once I got 2 DDs deleted, and another time I got my run deleted

I got him down to like 10% health in Tartarus and died 😭

I don’t think I’ve ever beaten him in Tartarus tbh but I don’t learn my lesson

I can't get the hang of bows, it feels so slow to me, any advice?

only use dash attacks and learn the power shot timing

standing attacks are very slow and make you vulnerable

I like using the special when I'm behind enemies, get right up in their personal space, rhat way the sprayed arrows hit 1 target

Typically that’s the most dangerous way to use the special due to the long special animation

Dash-strikes really do take bow from being pretty mid -> a great weapon

I mean the draw time of the regular attack is slower than the special attack, comparing the 1 arrow to the 4 you shoot with the special. In my head it saves time😂

I barely dash attack with the bow cuz of the ranged attack I have to do

Theh again I'm not q big fan of the bow due to it being ranged

i'd say aphro atk boons with bow cuz it give a big atk% nd will make the boss more slow so u can dodge more easily

and if u just want to pass the boss once take shield its more safe

Aphro doesn’t slow anyone down but you’ve got the right idea

Aphrodite is ideal for having the largest +% strike of the olympians, and the weaken debuff is just really strong

Although the bulk of your damage on bow will likely come from your hammer

Twin and triple are your best options, and the flurry/ point-blank shot and perfect shot after that

Some aspects of the bow care more or less about it specifically being aphrodite who is on strike, like Hera isn’t too picky

You also get a lot of your damage from chaos, between strike boons and lunge boons (dash-strike damage boosts) from him

i would like to second this, as bow damage is pretty piss poor unless you get a good hammer

it's like usable still and i might just be like speedrunner/high heat brained but you really want a good hammer for actual dps

You can use whatever you find fun for your first clear

A lot of people get their first victory with shield because it’s safe, and I remember Nyaanyaa (someone who coached a lot of new players a few years back) saying that spear and rail also had good results for first clears

I got my first clear on shield, and I think it's the easiest to get through a run. It does good damage, and aspect of zeus + zeus special is really good damage.

Also rail is really fun when you try and get the biggest damage number using aspect of hestia (definitely not biased)

Or you could run a zeus strike build on either other aspect and be just fine, eris and zag also have merit

All weapons are good, but a favorite among new players is usually the shield

I feel like bow is someone good as it helped me kill upto Theseus and the bull.

bow is really solid as long as you play it properly and build it well

you can really go wrong with bow if you aren’t dash-striking though

Personally I'd highly recommend the bow. It's what made me start choosing to play the game, instead of just occasionally playing it when I get bored of other games.

How do I get more titan blood?

but mainly it's from the mats you get from bosses

1st and last gives you titan blood .. and the 2nd/3rd give you mats that you can trade for titan blood

that's the main source

also check fated list some missions give a ton of titan blood

• beating the first boss for the first time with a weapon will net you one blood.
• final boss drops another + after that you unlock the best way to farm blood.
  other sources:
  trading for it at the lounge:
• 1 ambrosia for 1 T.blood is always there.
• 15 keys for 1 blood which is super good
• list of minor prophecies.
• Charon may sell one blood for 1200 gold at the last area shop

you always have a chance of winning, it is possible to win the very first run of a savefile when you have 0 upgrades, just need to hone your skills

You should be taking the two skull tunnels first when you have the option to

The bag can only spawn in the second tunnel you enter and then onwards, with a smaller and smaller chance for subsequent tunnels

It’s like a 52% chance for the second tunnel you head through, and then 23 /10 / 2 for third fourth and fifth

Those numbers definitely don’t add up but they’re roughly the odds

Taking the skull rooms means you have the miniboss fights for the last chamber, (which usually tend to be easier than regular tunnel endings) and you get an upgraded reward out of it anyways

Yes you can although you'll have way better chances upgrading the aspect to it's full power , and I don't know how much did you upgrade in your mirror to tell you how easy it's going to be

I would typically take a skull path for the second trip in. There is always the chance you would get the reward for free! 😄
