Basically. Spreadfire works exactly how you think it is. But if you Hestia shot is empowered, you actually shoot two attacks, one is the shotgun blast, the other is the 150 damage shot with larger range.

Question about the Ares boon that boosts attack damage for your next attack after killing an enemy: What falls under the umbrella of "first"? Is it everything that comes out of your weapon the next time you swing it, the first thing that comes out of your weapon, or the first thing that actually hits something? For instance, if I have a coronacht that has the piercing special upgrade, will the Ares' boon apply to every arrow, every time they each hit a new enemy?

@manic bobcat If I remember correctly, I believe that if you own the physical cartridges it is in fact fully legal to own the ROM, in the fullest sense of the law

Also those systems are discontinued and so are the carts, if you can't pirate them or find a second hand seller you're SOL finding a non-emulated copy. It seems completely justifiable to download it even if you never bought the original. However, if a digital download through the modern console exists, that changes the equation a bit imo.

I'd feel a little more justified pirating a second copy if there weren't distinct benefits to owning each kind of copy. Switch is amazing because you can bring it anywhere and playing it with the joycons is just a joy (no pun intended). The Steam version lets you use a mouse which benefits some weapons and casts, and there are achievements and mods.

as opposed to say, owning a copy on both PS4 and PS5 or whatever, where there's literally no difference in the experience aside from the hassle of switching the input on the TV

They just come out and deal a ton of focused damage that you don't have to time or aim, and are particularly well suited to the Elysium boss fight which is tricky sometimes

||Bouldy|| is good too. Even from a non-combat perspective, having the ability to give yourself a little extra gold in a pinch is really cool. There have been so many times that I've showed up at the shop with like 147 and can't buy the thing I need because I'm literally three coins short

||imo, if you are very good at avoiding hits, hard labour is a good one to start with. middle management is also a good one to start with, as it only modifies the midbosses and it only takes a few attempts for you to get used to their new attacks. emphatic measures can be a little challenging, but with some effort and a lot of tries, you'll get used to it||

But if you can hit the power shot it will make up for it.

Three actions I switch between according to circumstances.

1. dash-and-follow
2. use the shield to zone an enemy or area while I stay away for safety or pursue other targets
3. combine regular attacks on top of the shield to keep an enemy stuck inside for extra damage

and keep boosting your damage

@trail plover as for the shield’s special on non-zeus shield, it’s more of a utility than a main method of attack. It’s good for playing it safe with enemies from afar, and/or equipping a good boon to it that compliments it, like Athena or Ares.

I agree with you and enjoy that as well, but I still think I like Tidal Strike better. The bullets don’t hitstun enemies normally, but this boon does something even better.
