I've been away from the game for a while, so this might be a dumb question, but have they added any shortcuts between the biomes you've already visited? Like fast travel or something like that? The idea of having to complete the game all in one sitting I imagine wouldn't excite many people

There is no fast travel, but biomes 1-3 have been made a bit shorter.

Total clear time should end up being similiar to what you experienced during the Beefboy Update or the High Speed Update.

yo, i realised bosses dont get knocked back by poseidon's boons. Doesn't that make most of his boons useless for the last fight

i think the other one i like of his now is random assortment and the duo with PoP

i had poseidons double knock back legendary and even then the final boss shrugged it off... why tho??? whats the point in having it when it has no effect?

Tomato they used to have no effect and Poseidon was basically useless except for dealing with summons

most bosses are affected by some knockback now iirc (usually it briefly delays their attacks if it doesn't move them)

and any knockback synergies (like Rupture and Zeus's Duo Boon) still apply in full even if the boss doesn't move (like how you can't move the hydra at all)

Poseidon also has huge damage multipliers now, after a long stint of being pretty underwhelming

he's far from useless, but it definitely feels weird to go from roleplaying a tsunami in normal chambers to a boss chamber where the enemy doesn't seem to react at all

poseidons damage multiplier have been reduced greatly when knockback was made to apply to bosses, even if just a tiny bit, and wall slam rebalanced between the biomes

most of its damage is now in the wall slam(with 2 boons giving a huge bonus there) - that means for bosses you can only really get his real damage output if you make them move near a wall and then unleash all your attacks into them so that even the small knockback is enough to give wall slam damage

but at least it is possible at all

Not really any need for shortcuts in my opinion, as a run is pretty short. Add to that the fact that it wouldn't make sense narrative-wise, and the higher HP enemies on the latter levels would make it way more tedious without boons.

Beating the Elysium boss without any damage boost is a thing I've actually done in my latest run. Took me nearly 10 minutes.

You guys know what Chaos boon of +dash attack damage does to Dionysus dash (poison) boon?

but ares on bow special is insane damage, either for aoe clear and single target on main attack or use the stacking and slow but more damage and it hits so hard

and can be combined with aphrodite or especially athena duo boons

I've always done well focusing Artemis with bow special. Get the crit chance with special then hunter's mark and it snowballs with everything except bosses...for bosses you just need to be more mindful of hitting adds so the boss gets marked

Nope. You just need to be prepared to get into his AoE and kill steal.

Taking Crit boons or armor shredding upgrades generally helps too. Or faster attacks. Really, it just depends on if your build that run is equipped for fast clear or boss handling.

Thanatos is... precious. And he's bitter but he really does care for Zagreus. Otherwise he wouldn't be trying to help.

If Zag didn't say that it wasn't necessary, that might be different.

But Zagreus tells everyone he's got it, he SHOWS everyone he's got it, and then Thanatos still interferes and then reads you the riot act.

And it's different from the Furies where you really are kinda mucking about with their job which is why they try to stop you, your escape attempts are completely unrelated to Than's business as the aspect of death.

My issues with the epic store are my own ofc. They don't relate to the developers using it or making games for it, such as Supergiant. My main issue is actually that I can't use family sharing on Epic, which helps my family not rebuy all the games I get.

I think any discussion of the Epic Games Store itself should move to off topic though (assuming it continues)

I really dislike EGS and their tactics, but I don't think Supergiant Games did the wrong thing. Here's why:

1. They announced Hades was an EGS exclusive at the moment the game was announced; it wasn't like it was promised on Steam and GOG and then Snatched away.
2. It was in Early Access. It still will be on Steam in Early Access, but at a much more complete state than when it launched on EGS. So Steam users are getting a better deal!

I can expect Hades to be rated lower than expected initially due to Gamers and rating it low because of the association with Epic. Since Supergiant games and Hades is just too good to be rated low, the rating will rise in no time as soon as the Gamers forget with their short memory spans. I think ratings do matter in this case as it does keep some people away, but there are others who judge games themselves and don't care about Epic exclusivity. Supergiant will be fine 🙂

Yes, if you want to have the game on your steam library as well you will need to buy it again there

but since you already own the game, you won’t have to do that in order to keep playing it you can always add the game to steam as a non-steam game and launch it from there without any trouble, and only use epic to update the game when patches go live!

Oh yeah, Athena Wrath is the worst.

Dionysus is in my book the best standalone wrath effect.

Huge damage and a debuff for privileged status. Gives you a lot of value in just one boon.

Zeus comes in second. Strong damage all by itself, has the potencial to become even more OP with some of his boons.

Getting either of those early can easily carry a run imo.

Poseidon would be my 3. place. Strong damage + invincibility.

I'm curious what people's weapons tier lists are, for me it feels like they are really unbalanced, but that could be just my strange playstyle.

best to worst only in terms of my skill with them:
bow, spear = sword, rail, shield

I don't think you can just give a "tier list" off the top of your head, that wouldn't be fair to the weapons in my opinion. Every weapon shines within its respective playstyle, if you're the type of guy that enjoys taking his time and trying to take the least amount of damage while getting them sweet Thanatos keepsake stacks, your tier list might look like "1. Bow, 2. Rail, 3. Spear, 4. Shield, 5. Sword", however if you're the type of guy that tackles the fights head-on, guns blazing (not literally) it may look something like "1. Spear, 2. Shield, 3. Sword, 4. Rail, 5. Bow".
But if we're talking about the sheer power of the weapons, considering the builds that you can do with them later on I would say "1. Shield, 2. Bow, 3. Spear, 4. Rail and 5. Sword".

Yea, that's what I was expecting, I asked because I really liked the shield and while I almost effortlessly complete runs with it but with the other weapons I can just barely get to floor 4 with all my revives gone.

I personally try to go for the shield's Ares/Special build. Picking up the hammer twice with the hope of getting both Special upgrades and then pair it with Ares' Doom boons.

It is ... disgusting to say the least.

There's not an obvious reason why you shouldn't be able to - the save directory is set by the game, not by the client, so the Steam version will presumably be loading saves from the same folder where the Epic version saves them.
But that's not saying something won't happen, just that it looks likely on the surface that saves would be shareable.

@tough ravine In your documents folder there should be a folder called "Saved Games". Check inside if there's a Hades folder in it, then copy the entire thing to the other computer.
